Chapter 626 The Great Sun Tathagata

Chapter 626 The Great Sun Tathagata
A few years later.

In a corner of a primordial ancient star, in a branch of the Kunlun Mountains.

The Sun Saint escaped somewhat disheveled by tearing through the void. Looking up at the vast divine mountain, a hint of fear flickered in his eyes. He activated the "Travel Secret" with all his might, using the Sun Saint Power within his body to withstand the terrifying suppression of the laws within the ancient star, and sped away from the divine mountain.

"How can Kunlun Mountain be so dangerous!" The Sun Saint's lips were slightly bleeding. "The rumors in the [Spirit Realm] are not to be trusted. They say that the creatures living on this sacred mountain are all extremely friendly. Friendly my foot!"

Feeling the tearing pain emanating from the Sea of Wheels and Sendai, the Sun Saint's face showed traces of bitterness. "Upon entering the depths of the sacred mountain, a large group of Candle Dragons surrounded me and attacked without saying a word."

"On the way back, I encountered a ferocious beast called the Huashe, which looked at me with the intention of tearing me apart and swallowing me whole. Despite being a virtuous being surrounded by pure energy, it was extremely irritable these days, as if it had been possessed by an evil spirit."

"If you don't welcome outsiders, just put up a sign in the mountains and say so directly. Why are you so irritable? You're really unlucky. I just wanted to see the place where the Emperor forged the Immortal Cauldron back then, to try my luck and see if I had any destiny for immortality. I've already made things clear, but you're still coming at me with bloodshot eyes."

Suddenly, the Sun Saint stopped running and his lips twitched slightly.

Seeing the temple that appeared by the roadside, with wisps of incense smoke and the smoke of prayers, he took a few steps back in surprise. "No... In this desolate place, where there are no large tribes or towns, there is a temple with incense offerings?"

"Isn't this going a bit too far?"

Without the slightest hesitation, the Sun Saint immediately changed direction and sped towards another major human city, using the "Secret of Travel" technique.

However, just a few breaths later, he saw the temple again, which had appeared so abruptly, surrounded by wisps of incense and prayers, and he was now even closer to it.

Looking into the distance, he could clearly see a burly monk holding a staff, smiling and nodding slowly at him, appearing very friendly. That is, if one ignored the thick crocodile tail swaying slowly behind the monk and the Daoist aura that faintly emanated from his body.

The face of the Sun Saint was contorted.

When he was studying at the Ziwei Academy, his teachers often reminded him that some Buddhist temples did not prohibit eating meat or vegetables, especially some senior monks who were of demon origin.

These great monks would first establish connections with certain prodigies through various means, then generously provide them with resources for cultivation. Next, they would preach and expound the Dharma, enabling some of these prodigies to break through their current cultivation bottlenecks. Subsequently, they would even give away various Buddhist scriptures that directly point to the Bodhisattva path and even the Buddha path, kindly guiding them on their cultivation.

Ultimately, through a series of entanglements of cause and effect, the arising of predestined relationships, and the enlightenment gained from thoroughly understanding the mortal world, those prodigies comprehended the meaning of "emptiness." They then severed their three thousand afflictions, donned monastic robes, entered the Buddhist gate, and chanted "So that's how it is," achieving complete and profound enlightenment.

It sounds wonderful, and it truly feels wonderful.

After all, the entire process leads to Nirvana, a state of perfect tranquility, which is essentially equivalent to being guaranteed a Buddha-like attainment of a near-immortal realm. Ascending to the Nine Heavens Immortal Realm and enjoying immortality is then readily available.

But for a prodigy like the Sun Saint, who harbored all sorts of great desires, this was nothing short of devastating news.

Once he realizes "emptiness," enters the Buddhist order, and sincerely abides by the precepts, he will still be able to eat meat and drink alcohol to his heart's content, and even get married and have children.

These thoughts will likely be actively "forgotten" during the "enlightenment".

The Sun Saint murmured bitterly to himself, "The teachers at the academy are making it sound far too easy."

"These Buddhist monks are beyond what can be described as simply 'not abstaining from meat or vegetables'! Their behavior is downright insane to the point of being possessed by demons!"

"A great monk whose entire body is enveloped in the essence of immortality has at least fully comprehended a certain immortal law. After ascending to the Nine Heavens Immortal Realm, he is qualified to undergo the tribulation of immortality and attain the fruit of immortality."

"Such a powerful cultivator actually dares to block me, a mere sixth-level Immortal cultivator. What have I done to deserve this!"

In the blink of an eye, time and space shifted instantly, and the Sun Saint appeared in front of the temple. The smiling monk was only a few steps away from him.

The senior monk walked over in a few steps, reached out and took the Sun Saint's hand, leading him into the temple. He said cheerfully, "Young benefactor, you are truly destined to be with our Buddhist community. Look, you've arrived at our temple as soon as you left Kunlun Mountain."

The Sun Saint's eyelids twitched. Looking at the crocodile tail that was swinging more and more happily by the big monk, he felt an urge to curse.

What a load of rubbish! After escaping the pursuit of those crazed Zhulong and mad Huashe, I was blocked by you, a great cultivator. What could I do?
I feel utterly hopeless right now.
The Sun Saint forced a smile and asked, "I haven't yet asked your name, Master, or the title of this sacred temple."

The senior monk led the Sun Saint into the main hall, bowed to the golden statue of Buddha in the hall, and replied with a touch of naivety, "This humble monk is not yet worthy of being called a master. Please just call me 'Tuojie'."

"As for the name of the little temple, it was bestowed by the Buddha as 'Qingxuan'."

The Sun Saint stroked his chin, silently repeating the name "Qingxuan" in his mind, and suddenly felt that something was wrong.

He looked at the senior monk who had somehow brought out a tea table and was making tea for him, glanced at the golden statue in the main hall, and asked with some hesitation, "May I ask Master Tuojie, which Buddha's image is enshrined in Qingxuan Temple? Please forgive my limited knowledge, but even when the Buddha is in front of me, I cannot recognize him."

The senior monk did not reply immediately, but instead offered a cup of tea to the Sun Saint and gestured for him to enter.

Looking at the tea that was already placed in front of him, emitting wisps of solar radiance, as if it were already going through the motions, the Sun Saint suppressed his longing, his face turning slightly pale, and he began to panic.

The senior monk smiled as always, and said with a hint of sarcasm, "A disciple once asked the Buddha, 'If someone slanders me, deceives me, insults me, laughs at me, belittles me, despises me, hates me, or cheats me, how should I deal with it?'"

“The Buddha smiled without saying a word, and tens of thousands of years later, standing with that disciple in front of a grave, he softly replied, ‘Just endure him, let him be, let him do as he pleases, avoid him, be patient with him, respect him, and ignore him. Now you can see what he is like.’”

The face of the Sun Saint froze.

There seems to be something wrong with this Buddha statue.

The senior monk chuckled and gestured again towards the tea placed before the Sun Saint, saying, "Young benefactor, please have some tea, otherwise it will get cold."

The Sun Saint picked up the celestial tea from the tea table with a slightly numb expression, and a forced smile once again appeared on his lips.

"You've cooled down, Great Monk," you'd better mean the tea has gone cold, rather than making a veiled reference. The Sun Saint sighed softly, with a hint of resignation, slowly raised the celestial tea in his hand, looked at the tea soup that shimmered with the sunlight, took a small sip, and gently stirred it with his tongue, letting the tea slide down his throat.

bitter!
It's so bitter!

too bitter!
Even this supreme sage was so distressed that a tear rolled down his cheek.

The bitterness was extraordinary; it was as if all the suffering of all living beings in the world was condensed into it. Every drop of tea in it was like the sea of bitterness described in Buddhist scriptures, almost causing him to sink into it.

But in this state, his thoughts became clearer and clearer. In this state of near-sinking into the sea of suffering, he clearly saw the millions of different "paths" and "methods", saw his own imperfections, perceived his own "greed", "anger" and "ignorance", and even faintly sensed the "emptiness" that transcends the sea of suffering.

In a trance, the Sun Saint heard a great sage softly reciting the true scriptures, describing the suffering of birth, old age, sickness, death, separation from loved ones, encountering those he hated, not getting what he wanted, and the suffering of the five aggregates, and thus expounding a true picture of the mortal world, as well as the boundless purity of self-rejuvenation.

"All afflictions are the seeds of the Tathagata."

"All things are impermanent; they are subject to arising and ceasing."

"That's how it should be."

"."

"Namo Nirvana Future Buddha".

The abbot formed the Dharma mudra with his hands, his whole body radiating Buddhist light. He spoke of his own insights word by word, and with his own immortal spiritual essence as a guide, he invited a wisp of supreme creation to manifest a vast sun, which served as a boat on the boundless sea of suffering.

Suddenly, the Sun Saint seemed to feel his consciousness being lifted up by one "hand" after another, rising to an infinite height, where he saw the complete universe and starry sky, gazed at the countless universes in the chaos of birth and death, and comprehended some of the true meaning of the sea of suffering, while his Dao heart became even more steadfast.

He whispered, "The second step on the path of cultivation: traversing all realms."

"This is a landscape that only supreme emperors and even immortal true immortals can comprehend."

Turning around and casting my gaze upon the Primordial Starfield, the eight stars all radiated different yet equally boundless Dao intents, dazzling and splendid. The Sun Star, located in the center, was even more brilliant and dazzling, making one want to immerse oneself in it.

"It's absolutely gorgeous."

In a hazy sense, he seemed to become this sun star, from the most primitive nebula, to the formation of the accretion disk, to the self-contraction of gravity, and then to the stage of stable combustion.

Millions of years of incredibly clear memories flow through my mind, silently adding to my spiritual cultivation, evolving into a magnificent creation that nurtures the spirit of all things and repairs the imperfections of heaven and earth.

His self-created scriptures, within this weighty memory, are imbued with an ancient charm, and the resulting solar holy power possesses a trace of the sedimentation of time. Furthermore, the five secret realms spontaneously and temporarily merge into one without any scripture assistance, exuding a slight sense of flawless perfection.

The abbot looked at the Sun Saint, whose aura of the sun was becoming increasingly profound. His smile was kind, and the mudra in his hands transformed into the meditation mudra, guiding strands of the sun's spiritual essence to generate Buddha light, like the great sun descending upon the world, leading people to salvation.

Finally, he placed a five-Buddha crown on the head of the Sun Saint, draped him in a white robe, and guided him to form the Dharmadhatu Mudra.

The senior monk clasped his hands together and praised in a low voice.

"That Tathagata's light shines everywhere, without day or night."

"Namo Mahavairocana Tathagata".

As time passed, hundreds of years flew by.

At this moment, the Sun Saint slowly awoke from his enlightenment, his eyes still slightly dazed, reflecting a steadily burning sun star, radiating astonishing divine power of creation.

He subconsciously lowered his head slightly, wanting to take another sip of tea and enter that wonderful state again, but the mudra formed on his hands, the white robe he wore, and the crown on his head that faintly revealed Buddhist meaning instantly turned his face extremely dark.

Damn it, he suddenly realized that becoming a monk might not be such a bad idea after all.
The Sun Saint turned his head, wanting to find the great monk named "Tuojie" to ask him some questions again, but what he saw made his already dark face turn completely blue.

It was a newly sculpted holy statue, forged from refined gold and in his current form, placed behind the original golden body of the temple. There was also an incense burner, with wisps of prayer incense and profound merit unique to that holy statue.

This is definitely a case of forced buying and selling, isn't it?
However, the cup of celestial tea that had already been drunk, tinged with the bitterness of the mortal world, the complete solar immortal laws now lingering in the Sendai, and the pure Dao heart that had grasped a trace of "emptiness," could not utter a single word of dissatisfaction towards that great monk and the Buddhist sect.

This was a good deed, and although this "good" had some utilitarian elements, what was delivered to him was indeed an extraordinary stroke of luck.

The fact that a sixth-level Immortal Saint could completely comprehend a complete Immortal Dao Law within just a few hundred years was beyond his comprehension.

Such cause and effect cannot be repaid, nor can it be repaid at any time; it is impossible to fathom or deduce.

The Sun Saint sighed inwardly, "The Buddhist sect, especially the Buddhist sect of the ancient primordial star, is far too shameless. But I must admit, the effect is 'extraordinary.' At least after passively accepting this opportunity, I found it impossible to even think of taking revenge on the Buddhist sect."

"Namo Mahavairocana Tathagata".

At some point, the great monk appeared before the Sun Saint again and called out the "name" that he had already engraved in Buddhism.

The Sun Saint's face twitched involuntarily, not only because of the "title," but also because of the great monk's strength. He had already comprehended the complete laws of the Sun Immortal Path. Even though his current cultivation level was still only at the sixth level of the Immortal Saint realm, without any improvement, his mastery of the Sun aspect was absolutely comparable to that of a True Immortal who had just entered the realm of Immortal Path.

Even in this situation, he still couldn't see when the senior monk had appeared.

Are all cultivators on the ancient primordial star this outrageous?
