Chapter 627 The True Scripture of the Sun and the True Scripture of the Great Sun
Chapter 627 The True Scripture of the Sun and the True Scripture of the Great Sun
The great monk's smile was as cheerful and approachable as ever, making the Sun Saint feel an urge to take a few steps back and keep his distance from the master.
But, no.
As the saying goes, "He who eats another's food is bound to him; he who takes another's money is bound to him."
Having drunk a cup of this master's celestial tea and listened to his teachings for over a century, he couldn't simply turn around and leave. This wasn't merely a matter of pride; it also stemmed from his own Daoist convictions and the karmic debts he owed to Buddhism. If he left now, his future cultivation would likely encounter obstacles, making the ascension to immortality virtually impossible.
Suppressing his subtle emotions, the Sun Saint looked at the burly monk with a crocodile tail and sighed with a hint of helplessness, saying, "Please enlighten me, Master Tuojie. I did not grow up in a Buddhist holy land, so I cannot understand those profound koans, let alone comprehend the Buddha's true words."
The abbot chanted "Namo Nirvana Future Buddha" in a low voice, and said softly, "All sentient beings have Buddha-nature, even those who are icchantikas have Buddha-nature. But Vairocana Buddha is born with wisdom and light, and in the future he will have boundless merit, supreme enlightenment, and boundless Dharma, and will surely attain the fruit of Buddhahood."
The Sun Saint's eyelids twitched violently. He glanced at the statue of the Buddha of Nirvana, which was so close at hand, and then at the statue behind it, which was cast in his own image. His teeth ached.
Without continuing to tease this fellow Daoist who was less than a thousand years old, the abbot took out a scroll of true scripture filled with lapis lazuli Buddhist light and profound merit from who knows where, placed it on the tea table, and put it in front of the Sun Saint.
-
The Golden Body of Merit.
Just by looking at the four characters for "Buddha" on the cover, a vast and immortal Daoist aura rushed towards him, allowing the Sun Saint to vaguely see a majestic Buddha composed of countless stars, one hand pointing to the sky and the other to the earth, with endless profound and yellow merits all gathered on his body, forming a perfect and boundless universe.
Great, the process is still going on, and it looks like it's almost finished.
The Sun Saint felt a subtle sense of suffocation, and an urge to refuse and tear through the void to escape.
However, he glanced at the big monk swaying his thick crocodile tail, sensing the seemingly terrifying immortal Dao aura emanating from him, and then reached out to stroke the four Buddha characters on the true scripture, which looked as if they were engraved in gold.
Could this magnificent and timeless Dao essence be a technique of a Celestial King?
The Sun Saint swallowed silently. Although he had obtained the Taiyin True Scripture on Ziwei Star and before he advanced to the fourth level of Immortal Saint and created his own scripture, he had been practicing the ultimate chapter of a certain human emperor. However, both of these scriptures were incomplete and did not involve any content related to the Immortal Dao.
The Spirit Realm has collected all the information from the myriad realms, which is naturally from the immortal path. However, the merit required for it is extremely vast. Even if these true scriptures could be bought in individual volumes, the Xuanhuang merit he has accumulated so far is not enough to buy even the True Immortal Chapter.
This scroll, "The Golden Body of Merit," was the first scripture he encountered concerning the realm of immortals, and it is suspected to be a complete scroll of immortal king's teachings.
The incense at the Buddhist altar seems to be slightly fragrant. What should I do?
At this moment, the senior monk said with a smile, "These scriptures were originally prepared for the Buddha, please."
The Sun Saint remained silent for a moment, then opened the scroll of true scripture and began to read it. Since he had already been given the title of "Mahavairocana Tathagata," a little more karma wouldn't make a difference.
"Wow."
As the sound of turning the pages of scriptures filled the air, a faint fragrance of merit silently drifted through the hall. A radiant, illusory halo materialized behind the head of the Sun Saint, and a jeweled umbrella, as dazzling as crystal, opened above his head. A white conch shell materialized in the void, slowly playing pure Buddhist chants.
The victory banner fluttered faintly behind them, and one after another, the dazzling golden lotuses bloomed on the ground, condensing into treasure bottles filled with sweet dew. The phantom of the golden fish condensed in the void like a dream bubble, swimming freely, and the splashes of water it made formed auspicious knots, bringing drops of good fortune and true luck.
The scene of the Eight Treasures unfolds in the main hall. The Sun Saint, who is quietly reading the true Buddhist scriptures, has now thoroughly understood the boundless Dharma and is about to attain Buddhahood on the spot.
After a long silence, the Sun Saint murmured to himself, "So that's how it is."
Using his own solar immortal laws and a wisp of profound merit as a guide, he initiated one mysterious trajectory after another, radiating the brilliant and flawless brilliance of the great sun, gathering a wisp of the will of all living beings, and a wisp of the spirituality of all things, causing the will of the great universe to cast its attention on this place.
The Sun Saint, with his hands forming the wish-granting mudra, transcends the microcosm of the human body, merging with his own sacred image, and makes a great vow:
"I wish to use the light of the Dharma Realm's inherent wisdom to illuminate all sentient beings in the ten directions, so that all sentient beings may dispel the darkness of ignorance and see their inherent Buddha-nature."
"I wish to manifest all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas through the mandala, to expediently guide all sentient beings, so that all, regardless of their good or evil nature, may be liberated."
"I wish that the lineage of esoteric Buddhism may remain in the world forever, so that even in the degenerate age, the esoteric teachings of Vairocana Buddha may benefit all sentient beings."
"I wish that all sentient beings would cultivate the three secrets and attain Buddhahood in this very life, without having to go through countless eons."
As soon as the words fell, strands of primordial golden light of merit flowed upwards from the distant future, carrying the great karma of time, the boundless wishes of all beings, and the locking of the will of the universe. They landed on the sacred statue out of thin air, condensing it into a Buddhist charm that spanned the ages and history, radiating boundless Buddhist light, and possessing an extremely brilliant power to save the world.
The Sun Saint whispered, "Slay!"
A sword light aimed directly at his true spirit was drawn in, striking his true spirit, penetrating his divine body, and piercing through his "Tao" and "Dharma," separating cause and effect from destiny, and severing a Buddha avatar that could bear the cause and effect of time and boundless vows for him.
The great monk looked at the "Great Sun Tathagata," who had inherited all the laws and insights of the Sun Saint but had no cultivation whatsoever, and chuckled with a swaying crocodile tail.
He clasped his hands together, looking at the Sun Saint and the "Mahavairocana Buddha," his expression becoming increasingly kind.
"good."
"Namo, Mahavairocana Tathagata".
"This body can fulfill the karma of my Buddhist practice, carry the vows of future sentient beings, and bear boundless great vows."
The Sun Saint looked at the great monk, then at the remaining statue in the main hall, and a feeling of unease welled up inside him.
He had a feeling that this Master Tuojie was definitely not doing this for the first time. Many of the past geniuses, who are now powerful immortals, had definitely created such a Buddhist avatar.
So what exactly is the composition of Buddhism today?
What are the components of the various Buddhist lineages that appear so dazzling and brilliant today?
Could it be that some of the Taoist celestial beings and some of the immortal ancestors of the starry sky clans have been invited into the Buddhist temple in this way?
In the spirit world, haven't there been rumors lately that the Taoist priests and the Buddhist monks are about to get into a fight because of their ideological differences?
Good heavens. No wonder he felt something was off about the Buddha statue called "Buddha of Nirvana and the Future" that Master Tuojie was worshipping; it turned out there was a problem with the core.
The Sun Saint stroked his chin, silently chanting, "The future Buddha of Nirvana, Nirvana." Suddenly, his expression crumbled, and the carefully constructed facade in his eyes shattered completely. "Holy crap... Could it be the Daoist Celestial Venerable of Nirvana?!"
"Wait a minute. I remember that Buddhism also has a Buddha of Immeasurable Life. Could it be the Heavenly Venerable of Immeasurable Life?"
"Following this line of thought, is Bhaisajyaguru, the Buddha who heals wounds, the Eternal Life Celestial Venerable?"
Now, the Sun Saint looked at the burly Master Tuojie, who was swaying his crocodile tail, and his expression became strange.
This master is worshipping the Buddha of Nirvana and Future, which means he is also worshipping the Celestial Venerable of Nirvana. This is the only major sect of immortals in the entire universe that has the right to erect a holy image of the Celestial Venerable of Nirvana at will.
-
Dongxuan Sect.
So, is this person's "core" a disciple of the Dongxuan Sect?
Do all these immortal sects and powerful immortals play such elaborate tricks?
The Sun Saint blinked and looked at the kind and amiable monk, his eyes subtly revealing a question.
The senior monk seemed to understand, but replied with a Buddhist koan while smiling.
The Buddha said: It cannot be spoken.
The Sun Saint nodded; he understood.
These ordinary people in the universe, along with certain beings with ulterior motives, were tricked by the Taoist sect, the Buddhist sect, and the great star race.
While secretly absorbing the merits and virtues expended by ordinary people watching the spectacle in the [Spirit Realm], they also secretly plotted to completely destroy certain rebellious beings. It was a win-win situation.
Upon seeing the "unspeakable" hidden deep within the cosmos for the first time, the Sun Saint couldn't help but gasp in astonishment. He felt that the values he had established at the Ziwei Academy had been completely shattered within this "Qingxuan Temple."
The Sun Saint breathed a slight sigh of relief, looked at the great monk, and asked, "Master Tuojie, is there anything else I can do for you?"
The senior monk nodded, then looked at the Buddhist incarnation of the Sun Saint and said, "Please, Great Sun Tathagata, leave behind the true scriptures and fulfill the great Buddhist vow you made to complete the cause and effect of this place."
The Buddha's expression was slightly stiff, but fortunately he had prepared himself mentally.
After all, the Taoist and Buddhist masters had invited him for tea, explained Buddhist scriptures to him, and invited him to read the scriptures of the King Realm; they couldn't possibly have been without ulterior motives. Now, by merely sacrificing a Buddhist avatar and leaving behind his own cultivation chapters, he could completely settle the karmic debt, which was already quite good.
Ultimately, he is now just an ordinary sixth-level immortal saint, nothing more.
Looking at the supreme-level calligraphy brush and the supreme-level blank scripture that had been placed in front of him, Vairocana Buddha silently picked them up and wrote down his own insights into cultivation and the scriptures.
Strands of Buddha's light, at the level of true immortals, gradually bloomed into lotus flowers under the brush. In the main hall, strands of Buddha's boundless intent, carrying the sun in the sky and saving people in the world, once again emanated.
He entered a state of near-enlightenment, where external influences seemed to be cut off, and the "Dao" and "Dharma" between heaven and earth were far away, leaving only the true meaning of the sun, the laws of the sun immortal path, and his past thoughts on heaven and earth and all things on the platform.
At this moment, his perspective had undergone a wondrous shift. He began to look at his own "Tao" and "Dharma" from a different angle of observation and thought. Things he had not noticed before, some vague insights gained during his hundreds of years of enlightenment, had all solidified into substance and become the true words he wrote down.
His cultivation was completely solidified and no longer superficial. His understanding of the sun was now comparable to that of an ordinary immortal being in the early stage of the True Immortal realm.
At the same time, a supreme scripture that started from the Sea of Wheels and contained the complete laws of the Solar Immortal Path was completed in the hands of the Great Sun Tathagata.
After a moment's thought, he inscribed four characters, "Supreme Emperor," on the cover of this sacred scripture.
-
The True Scripture of the Sun.
However, the senior monk nodded, but then slowly shook his head. "As expected of a born enlightened one, destined to become a Buddha in the future, this scripture can be called flawless. However, the name of this scripture still needs some revision."
The great monk stretched out his thick, strong hand and lightly touched the cover. Without altering the true meaning or the profound laws, he transformed "Sun" into "Great Sun," and the four characters of Supreme Emperor radiated a Buddhist light like the rising sun, as if they could guide all living beings onto the right path and dispel endless suffering.
The great monk's subtle adjustments completely obscured certain "characteristics" of this scripture, leaving others merely on the surface. Unsuspecting beings, even after repeatedly perusing the entire text, would only conclude that this scripture was written by a Buddha who had attained immortality, and had no connection whatsoever with the Sun Saint.
Seeing the scene before him, the Sun Saint was dumbfounded. He picked up the Great Sun Sutra and read it through, feeling the Buddha's light on it that was like the sun descending upon the world. He was even a little afraid to admit that he had just written this sutra.
Every word and phrase on it clearly points to the laws of the solar extreme and the laws of the solar immortal path, and is extremely consistent with his own "Dao" and "Dharma". However, because of the Buddhist light of salvation that permeates it, he felt that this scripture was both familiar and inexplicably strange.
The Sun Sutra and the Great Sun Sutra.
The Sun Saint fell silent.
Well, he then explained why certain powerful immortals would create an incarnation within Buddhism, and why people, after reciting their scriptures and comprehending their "Tao" and "Dharma," would not notice anything amiss.
That's it!
Suddenly, he remembered the teachers at the Ziwei Academy who had taught him about the Buddhist concept of "not abstaining from meat or vegetables," and he had a strange sense of déjà vu.
The Sun Saint sighed softly. He looked at the great monk, his expression extremely complex, and asked, "Master Tuojie, isn't the water of the universe a bit too deep? I feel that even a Celestial King descending to earth to wade through this mortal world might have a chance of drowning."
The senior monk clasped his hands together, silently chanted "Buddha of Nirvana" in his heart, and remained silent.
According to the sect's ancient records, more than one Immortal King has drowned in the universe.
He was actually very curious about this question as well.
