Chapter 1625 Bakura VS Dartz

Chapter 1625 Bakura VS Dartz
Dartz: "Let's decide this with a duel? Interesting. Alright then."

Dartz took off his robe and casually tossed it aside, revealing a black duel disk.

"Duel!" x2
【Bakura, LP4000】

【DAZ, LP4000】

Although Dartz was quite wary of Zorc's power, he figured that what he was facing was probably not Zorc's complete form. Moreover, Dartz was wary of Zorc's boundless dark power; if it were a card game, Dartz was quite confident.

In fact, Dartz certainly had reason to be confident, after all, he was a ruthless character who almost defeated Yami Yugi and Kaiba, the president of Kaiba, in a one-against-two battle in the anime. His deck was a manifestation of the power of Orichalcos, in other words, it was all printed by himself, so he had considerable confidence in his deck and his own strength.

Bakura: "I'll go first, draw a card."

He drew a card, then randomly picked two cards to hold in his hand.

"First, I'll set one monster card face down in defense position," Bakura said. "Then I'll activate this card."

He drew a spell card from his hand, and at the same time, the hidden compartment on the side of the Duel Disk popped open, the spell card was placed into it, and the hidden compartment was then stored back into the Duel Disk.

"Field Magic - Undying World!"

The moment the field card was absorbed, every mechanical pattern on the Duel Disk seemed to glow with a dark light. A surge of dark energy was released, unleashing a deathly domain across the field, where towering demonic flames burned, carrying the lamentations of countless undead.

"The effect of Undead World is that this card can turn all monsters in both of our Graveyards into Undead," Bakura said.

In the DM anime, Bakurahara is a devoted fan of the Undead deck. Although he used different decks each time he appeared in Duel Kingdom from his first appearance to the last, the various deck constructions and tactics were basically centered around the themes of demons and undead.

Dartz glanced around at the undead domain that had spread out in all directions, then smiled faintly, seemingly unconcerned about the domain that controlled the area.

"The round is over." Bakura chuckled. "After all, you're an old thing who's lived for ten thousand years. Even a dog should have some skills at that age. Come on, I'll give you a chance to show me what you're capable of."

Dartz didn't care about his provocation: "Then it's my turn, draw a card."

Dartz drew a card and then casually played the monster card in his hand: "Then, I will first Normal Summon 'Orichalcos Diablos' (anime card)."

While the Orichalcos deck has been released as a physical card game, it differs greatly from the anime, and many anime cards were not implemented. For example, this Diablos card is an anime exclusive.

A mass of magma surged forth on Darz's field, and a body rose upright from the lava, transforming into the form of a lava dragon with a pair of glowing wings that seemed to be burning.

[Orichalcos Diablos, Attack Power 1500]

"Diablos' effect can be activated once per turn, allowing you to change the battle position of one monster your opponent controls."

Dazi slowly raised her arm, revealing her flawless white fingers beneath her wide, long sleeves.

"Let me see what kind of monster is on the inside of your field. Change the inside monster to attack mode."

The monster was forcibly flipped, changing from horizontal to vertical. A zombie-like figure leaped out, wielding a long sword, its withered body seemingly covered with cold skeletons.

[Goblin Zombie, Attack Power 1100]

“Zombies, huh?” Dartz said. “Then Diablos, attack the ‘Goblin Zombie’.”

The dragon opened its mouth, spewing forth swirling torrents of lava. The zombie's skeleton was instantly melted, and even the skull evaporated and vanished.

[Bakura, LP4000 → LP3600]

A splatter of lava seemed to land on Bakura, hissing and burning a dark, charred patch on his chest. But his expression remained unchanged, seemingly unconcerned, as he continued his explanation. "Now, Goblin Zombie's effect activates!" Bakura declared. "If this card is sent from the field to the Graveyard, you can add a Zombie monster with 1200 or less DEF from your Deck to your hand!"

Dartz: "The Last Words Monster, huh?"

Not only is it a final word, but it's a final word effect with excellent performance. Unlike ordinary final words that require "destruction in battle" to activate, Goblin Zombie can trigger it simply by being "sent from the field to the graveyard".

In other words, it can be triggered in combat, by breaking effects, by banishing, or even by voluntary sacrifice, making it an almost unavoidable, guaranteed effect.

Bakura: "I'm going to add a 'Mammoth Zombie' with 0 DEF from my deck to my hand!"

The cards automatically pop out of his deck, are drawn and revealed, and then added to his hand.

Dartz seemed oblivious to his search, remaining expressionless: "Set one card face down, end of turn."

"My turn, draw a card!" Bakura glanced at the card he had drawn and chuckled strangely, "I've drawn an interesting card that I recently acquired, so I'll activate this first: the Spell Card 'Demon Sanctuary'!"
This card can Special Summon a 'Metal Demon Token' to my field!

A small metal doll was summoned and appeared on his field, its silver body reflecting Dartz's image as clearly as a mirror.

[Metal Demon Derivative, Attack Power 0]

Dartz: "A derivative, used as a springboard for even more powerful monsters, huh? But before that, my face-down card has already activated!"
Quick-Play Spell Card 'End of the World'! This card can be activated when my opponent Special Summons a monster; I can activate a Field Spell Card from my Deck! This is the one I'm going to activate, of course!

A beam of green light shot out from Dartz's deck, shooting straight into the sky.

"Field spell 'Orichalcum Barrier'!"

The six-pointed star barrier blotted out the sky and quickly enveloped everything, shattering the immortal domain instantly, and the green light barrier dominated the entire area.

Darz closed his eyes, and a six-pointed star mark appeared on his forehead, as if he was slowly digesting and absorbing the power of the barrier.

Then he slowly opened his eyes.

"Orichalcos Barrier increases the ATK of all monsters on your field by 500 points."

[Orichalcos Diablos, Attack Power 1500 → Attack Power 2000]

"The Undying World got squeezed out, huh?" Bakura snorted unhappily. "Then I'll unleash the 'Metal Demon Derivative,' Superior Summon! The Undying Black Dragon—"

—Red-Eyes Immortal Dragon!

The tiny metal doll vanished as a speck of light, and the endless mist seemed to carry the shrieks of countless vengeful spirits, spreading throughout this immortal world. A black dragon, imbued with deathly aura, burst forth from within, its wings etched with dark red patterns.

[Red-Eyes Immortal Dragon, Attack Power 2400]

“Although Red-Eyes Undying Dragon is a 7-star monster, if you use an Undying monster, you only need to release one monster to achieve a high-level summon,” Bakura said.

“I see,” Dartz said. “When Red-Eyes Undead Dragon destroys an Undead monster in battle, it can summon that destroyed Undead monster to your field.”

Then, if an 'Undead World' exists, all the monsters in both our graveyards will be transformed into Undead. This means that if any of my monsters is destroyed, you will take control of it.

He paused, then changed the subject, smiling slightly.

"But it's a real shame that the arena has now become the arena for Orichalcos, just like the course of this duel! This duel, no, the future of this world, will all go to Orichalcos, because that is destiny!"
