The rise of a great power: starting with military industry

Chapter 914 Whoever commits the sin shall be held responsible

The pulsating assembly technology is to be promoted in Panshan Group.

Because this can greatly improve production efficiency, it is a good thing.

Without the pulsating assembly technology, Panshan Group's output of many products would be reduced by almost one-third.

Then Liu Tao came to the J-7 production workshop, which is where the J-7 series fighter jets are produced. The pulsating production line here can produce 7 J-150 fighter jets of various types a year. The workers here are already very mature.

Similarly, the production of the J-8 series fighter jets at Panshan Group has reached an annual output of 150 aircraft.

As the current second-generation and a half fighter jets, the market for the J-7 and J-8 series fighter jets is still very large.

Because the mainstream in the market now is the second-generation and a half fighter jets.

There are still very few countries equipped with third-generation fighter jets. Even the air forces of many developed European countries are not equipped with third-generation fighter jets.

The third-generation fighter jets are still a luxury for most developing countries. Except for those oil-rich countries, other countries will feel a chill when they see the prices of the third-generation aircraft.

But the second-generation and a half fighter jets are different. You can still purchase them if you grit your teeth.

The top-of-the-line J-7 and J-8 cost no more than US$1800 million each.

Among the third-generation fighter jets, the cheapest is the J-10 fighter jet, with a starting price of US$2500 million per unit, and the top-of-the-line model is no more than US$3500 million per unit.

As for the J-11 fighter jet, the starting price is US$4000 million per unit, and the top configuration costs US$6000 million per unit.

连歼10战斗机的起步价都要比最顶配的歼7、歼8战斗机要贵700万美元/架,一架基本型号的歼10战斗机可以买4架基础型号的歼7、歼8。不过基础型号的歼7、歼8是二代战斗机。

The best-selling of all aircraft are not the J-10 and J-11 fighter jets, but the J-7 series fighter jets and the J-8 series fighter jets.

Even if a country is very poor, as long as it really wants to buy, Panshan Group can come up with a plan to allow it to buy ten or eight aircraft.

For example, Tanzania, which has had a friendly cooperative relationship with Panshan Group for 15 years, has developed a squadron of J-7s and a squadron of J-8s with the help of Panshan Group. Together with other J-5 and J-6 fighter jets, the Tanzanian Air Force is one of the most powerful fighters in Africa.

There is also Zimbabwe, which is also relatively poor, but it has managed to build a squadron of J-7s. Together with the J-5 and J-6 fighters, its air force has more than a hundred fighter jets, which is quite capable.

Nepal is also a notoriously poor country. It had neither navy nor air force more than a decade ago, but now it has one squadron of J-7, one squadron of J-5, and one squadron of J-6, a total of 72 fighter jets.

After the J-5 fighter jets were completely withdrawn from service, and the J-6 fighter jets were retired in batches, they will now all be retired completely by 2000. Naturally, as many of them as possible will be exported. If they are not exported, they will all be sunk costs, and will eventually end up in an aircraft graveyard, where they will rust and decay and eventually become unusable.

This is undoubtedly a huge waste of resources.

In order for new aircraft to be put into service, the production of new aircraft must be ensured.

If the production of new aircraft is to be significantly increased, then the pulsating assembly technology is currently the best choice.

Panshan Group not only needs to ensure delivery of part of the orders to the domestic Air Force, but also has to deliver on orders to overseas customers.

A large part of the maintenance and improvement work of the J-5 and J-6 fighter jets before export will be handed over to other domestic aircraft manufacturers, while another part will have to be completed by Guizhou Aircraft Group.

All J-5 and J-6 fighter jets, except for a small number kept as training aircraft, demonstration aircraft and museum collections, will be exported as much as possible. Among them, in addition to some being used as fighter jets, some will be converted into reconnaissance aircraft.

The price of a reconnaissance aircraft is much higher than that of a similar type of fighter jet.

A J-5 fighter jet only costs 100 million RMB, while a J-5 reconnaissance aircraft costs 500 million RMB.

一架歼6战斗机只需要200~400万人民币,而一架歼侦6则是需要1000万人民币。很多国家不一定需要歼5、歼6战斗机,但是却很需要歼侦5、歼侦6。

Similarly, the J-7 and J-8 are much superior to the J-7 and J-8 fighters of the same type.

In order to keep their technology secret, Americans would rather retire most of their aircraft and put them in an aircraft graveyard than export them.

But it is different for China. Those are not advanced aircraft anyway. They are all imitations of Soviet aircraft by China. They can be exported and some money can be made. The Air Force can also purchase more advanced aircraft.

Liu Tao arrived at the J-8 final assembly plant and happened to meet the Air Force leaders who came to inspect.

The two sides shook hands and the leaders of the Air Force seemed very enthusiastic. There was nothing they could do about it. Money makes the world what it is. The Air Force had to buy on credit every year, and to buy on credit they had to get the consent of Panshan Group. If Panshan Group did not agree, the Air Force could not buy on credit.

Moreover, among the same type of aircraft, Guizhou Aircraft Group produces large quantities and high quality, and is most popular among the Air Force.

The Air Force dislikes the aircraft produced by some aircraft factories.

Because screws may fall off, landing gear may fall off, and the engine may suddenly stall.

Every year, the Air Force leaders would curse and point at the leaders of the Aviation Industry Corporation of China because of this kind of thing.

However, this situation has never occurred since Panshan Group took over Guifei Group.

Like the J-10 fighter jet, Guizhou Aircraft Industry's production capacity is even much higher than that of Chengdu Aircraft Industry, and the aircraft quality is also better.

As for the J-11 fighter jet, currently only Guizhou Aircraft Industry Corporation can produce it.

The Air Force itself is fully aware of the excellent performance of the J-11 fighter, and there is no pilot who does not like the J-11 fighter.

This year, the Air Force plans to borrow 200 billion yuan from Panshan Group on credit to purchase aircraft, missiles, etc.

To be honest, the Air Force has some objections to Panshan Group’s tax reform. The reason is that after the tax reform, the prices of weapons and equipment purchased by the Air Force have risen sharply.

Wool appears on sheep.

Not only the Air Force is cursing this situation, but the Navy and the Army are also cursing it.

Because the prices of all the weapons and equipment they purchased increased significantly.

Because the weapons Panshan Group provides to the army are basically not profitable, according to Liu Tao, they are provided to the army at cost price. But now Panshan Group needs to pay taxes and hand over 30% of its profits, so it needs to include both taxes and profits.

Although the amount of weapons and equipment sold by Panshan Group to the military is still far lower than that exported, it is much higher than before, and the price of some weapons has even doubled.

The military has complained a lot about this.

But this cannot be blamed on Panshan Group. Other military industrial enterprises do not need them, but Panshan Group does. Panshan Group cannot sell weapons and equipment to the military at a huge loss.

This made the military very angry, and they planned to significantly increase the amount of credit this year, bringing the amount of credit to a number almost the same as the defense budget.

As for the sales on credit, the relevant departments will pay for it in the end, and they have to deal with the sins they have committed.

Panshan Group cooperated very well. Anyway, these had to be deducted from the annual profits and taxes by the relevant departments, so it was not Panshan Group that suffered the loss.
