No taboos in the world

Chapter 628 Begging

Chapter 628 Begging
Daleiyin Temple.

Accompanied by the melodious sound of a sword, a crimson figure appeared unexpectedly.

In an instant, the four Bodhisattvas, eight Vajras, five hundred Arhats, three thousand Jieti and other Buddhists were all shocked, and many Buddhists stood up suddenly, wanting to move but not moving.

They may not have witnessed the final battle of Conferred Gods with their own eyes, but they certainly knew that Buddhism suffered heavy losses that year, and Tathagata returned with injuries and remained in seclusion for many years.

Even the Tathagata, who was sitting high on the Twelve-Level Golden Lotus of Merit, could not help but change his expression slightly.

He had never thought that Hong Chen would come directly to Lingshan Leiyin Temple at this time, and what he did not expect was that Hong Chen would come directly here without anyone noticing or stopping him.

But he was the leader of a religion after all, so Tathagata quickly calmed down and looked calm.

"Amitabha, the Great Emperor Xuanling has arrived. I was unable to greet you from afar. I hope the Great Emperor will forgive me for my impoliteness."

As soon as these words were spoken, the Buddhas came back to their senses. They sat back down, adjusted their demeanor, and sang in unison:

"Meet the Great Emperor Xuanling!"

At this time, Sun Wukong, who was standing aside with the Ruyi Jingu Bang in his hand, was astonished and shocked.

He had no way of catching the sudden and silent sword light that had just appeared. The golden hoop stick that was about to kill the six-eared macaque nearly slipped out of his hand when the sword light flashed across his body. After he tried hard to hold the stick, the force transmitted to his body made him stagger.

That kind of power was simply not something he could resist at that moment.

Even though it was just a quick confrontation, and it couldn't even be considered a confrontation, it made him feel even more powerless than when he was suppressed by Tathagata.

Sun Wukong is not stupid, on the contrary he is very smart, has a high level of comprehension, and improves his practice very quickly.

It is simply because he has been under surveillance by others almost all the time since he was born. His seemingly free will is actually locked in an invisible cage. The information he is exposed to is limited and has been screened more than once. The decisions he makes are invisibly guided by the deliberately created environment.

Speaking of freedom, Sun Wukong has not been free since he was born.

After causing chaos in Heaven, Sun Wukong’s confidence was pushed to its peak by Buddhism.

Then, Tathagata suddenly appeared and pressed him under the Five Elements Mountain.

This was not meant to completely destroy his self-confidence, but to make him feel awe and admiration for Buddhism.

In fact, Buddhism has done it.

Sun Wukong did not respect the Jade Emperor as much as he did Tathagata.

Because he knew that he was no match for Tathagata.

But now, a person who is far stronger than himself is coming with a group of younger brothers to meet another rather unfamiliar person.

Wasn't this a shock to him?
After all, in the Great Leiyin Temple, those Arhats Jie Di had looked at him with smiles in their eyes just now, but now, these people, including the Bodhisattvas and Buddhas, were all afraid.

If one were to use one sentence to describe Sun Wukong's mood at this moment, it would probably be: A real man should be like this!
And this is one of the purposes of Hong Chen's sudden appearance here.

He wanted to let Sun Wukong know that the prehistoric world was vast, and Tathagata had never been the first. Even though he had retreated to break through to the late quasi-saint stage after being injured by Hong Chen, and now had successfully reached the quasi-saint great perfection with the rise of Buddhism's fortune, Tathagata was still not the first.

Hong Chen put his hands behind his back and looked around.

Wherever his eyes went, the Buddhists lowered their heads and avoided him.

Even Manjushri, Samantabhadra, and Mahasthamaprapta, who was promoted to the position of one of the four great Bodhisattvas after the death of Ksitigarbha, did not dare to look him in the eye.

Because all of them had seen and even experienced personally the tremendous pressure that Hong Chen brought to them during the battle, and had even witnessed with their own eyes the Jiejiao immortals, the Chanjiao golden immortals, and the Buddhist disciples who had defected to Buddhism being killed and terrified, with nowhere to escape.

On the contrary, although Guanyin Bodhisattva had the same experience, she had a deeper understanding of Hong Chen because of her later contacts with him. So at this time she was just confused and did not nod at him in panic.

After inspecting the area, Hong Chen looked at Tathagata, pointed at the six-eared macaque on the ground, and said with a smile: "Tathagata, I think this monkey is pretty good. It would be a pity to let Wukong kill him. I still need a sweeper in Xuanling Mountain. Can you give him to me?"

This reason sounds somewhat humorous, but who among the people present can really say it that way?
Tathagata looked at him steadily for a few seconds, then looked towards the Six-Eared Macaque, and finally his eyes fell on Sun Wukong.

"The Six-Eared Macaque's actions have offended Wukong."

He didn't want to give the decision-making power to Sun Wukong, but wanted to let Sun Wukong know that Hong Chen was going to save Sun Wukong's enemy.

In other words, it is provocation.

But Tathagata knew that Hong Chen and Sun Wukong had a good relationship in the Three Realms.

Sun Wukong will one day attain Daluo Dao Fruit, and at that time he will surely absorb all the worlds and condense his body into one.

Let’s not talk about what the future will be like, at least for now he doesn’t want Sun Wukong and Hong Chen to get too close.

When Sun Wukong heard what Tathagata said, his eyes moved rapidly and a golden light flashed in his eyes.

Soon, Sun Wukong put away his golden cudgel, bowed to Hong Chen, and said, "The Great Emperor just directed me to go to the Great Leiyin Temple to distinguish the real from the fake, but now he wants to save the monster, what's the reason?"

"Monster?" Hong Chen smiled. "Just now, the Tathagata said that there are four monkeys in the world. These four monkeys jumped out of the three realms and are not in the five elements. The reason why they are listed together is that they have the same origin and belong to the same lineage. In other words, this six-eared macaque is your brother, Sun Wukong."

Hearing this, Sun Wukong was greatly surprised.

"Is your words serious?"

Hong Chen nodded and said, "I see that the six-eared macaque was born earlier than you, and the other red-butted horse monkey and long-armed ape also appeared long ago. Therefore, you, the stone monkey, are the true younger brother of the four monkeys."

Sun Wukong was both surprised and happy.

What was surprising was that the four mischievous monkeys were not false. The other three monkeys were actually born earlier than him, and Hong Chen knew a lot about this.

The good news is that Sun Wukong has always believed that he was born of heaven and earth, with no father, no mother, and no brothers or sisters.

Just now, when I heard Tathagata talking about the Four Mischievous Monkeys, I felt a little moved, but I did not directly associate it with brothers.

At this moment, Hong Chen bluntly stated that the Four Mischievous Monkeys were of the same origin and bloodline, and even used the word "brothers", which indeed made him suddenly realize and feel very surprised.

Seriously speaking, Sun Wukong has indeed been lonely after so many years since his birth.

At this moment, he looked at the six-eared macaque who was still unconscious on the ground, and couldn't help scratching his ears and cheeks. He wanted to step forward and take a closer look, but he hesitated because he almost killed the other party just now.

If he had the brotherhood consciousness, even if he was angry, he would not be so angry that he would directly attack the other party. So after a while of hesitation, Sun Wukong bowed to Hong Chen again: "Thank you, Great Emperor, for your help just now, so that I, Sun, would not do anything bad."

Hong Chen asked with a smile: "Oh? So you are not angry with him anymore?"

Sun Wukong waved his hands, "Oh! I am angry, but I am angry that he had to pretend to be me and argued with me. He fought and yelled all the way. He met so many gods and Buddhas, which made me even more furious. But since the emperor pointed out that he and I are brothers, I am not unreasonable. Although he makes me angry, I will not kill him directly because of this."

Hong Chen nodded and looked at Tathagata.

At this point, Tathagata actually doesn't have much left to fight for.

After all, as the Buddha of Buddhism, Tathagata could not directly instruct Sun Wukong to kill the Six-Eared Macaque in the Great Leiyin Temple, so as to absorb the essence of the Six-Eared Macaque to improve his own foundation and cultivation.

The choice Sun Wukong made just now was also the result of being guided.
Tathagata clasped his hands together and said, "Amitabha, the Great Emperor is kind and merciful. If the six-eared macaque can become your disciple, even if he becomes a floor sweeper, it is a future that others cannot hope for. This matter is done. I would like to thank the Great Emperor for pointing out the way forward for Wukong and eliminating the disaster. After Tang Sanzang obtains the true scriptures, I will go to Xuanling Mountain in person to thank the Great Emperor."

Hong Chen naturally understood the meaning of Tathagata's words.

What he meant was that the Six-Eared Macaque knew too much, and Hong Chen could take the Six-Eared Macaque away, but before the journey to the West was over, it would be best not to let the Six-Eared Macaque out of Xuanling Mountain, so as to avoid any accidents caused by the Six-Eared Macaque's words.

After the journey to the West is completed and the calamity between heaven and earth is eliminated, Tathagata will naturally give Hong Chen a generous gift as a hush money during this period of time.

Hong Chen had no intention of disrupting the progress of the Journey to the West, so he readily agreed.

"You are too polite, Tathagata. Xuanling Mountain is always waiting for your visit."

As he spoke, he waved his hand, lifted up the six-eared macaque and summoned it in his hand.

Just now, because of Tathagata's action and the suppression of the golden bowl, the six-eared macaque has turned into a pocket-sized monkey the size of a palm, which looks even more cuter.

Looking up, Hong Chen smiled at the Buddhists: "Goodbye, everyone!" After he finished speaking, his figure disappeared instantly.

Afterwards, Sun Wukong thanked Tathagata, smiled at Guanyin Bodhisattva, with whom he was close, and then flew out of the Leiyin Temple and hurried to find his master.

The two left one after another, and the Leiyin Temple suddenly fell into a strange silence.

After a long time, it was Tathagata's great secret Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva who spoke to break the tense atmosphere.

"Buddha, according to what I have heard and heard, Emperor Xuanling will not interfere with the Journey to the West."

Hearing this, many people breathed a sigh of relief. They were afraid that Hong Chen would use the Six-Eared Macaque to make trouble. If this made Sun Wukong rebel again, it would be very bad.

To be honest, the entire Journey to the West team is the core of the rise of Buddhism, and Sun Wukong is the core of the core.

Although Tang Sanzang is Sun Wukong's master, in fact, most of the time he is just a figurehead. The only thing Tang Sanzang can teach Sun Wukong is the Buddhist scriptures, nothing else.

As for the importance of Buddhist scriptures practiced by ordinary people, that also varies from person to person.

At least for a Golden Immortal, Buddhist scriptures are dispensable. If it were not for the restrictions of the teachings and doctrines of the Buddhist sect, the Buddhists present might not be willing to waste time on these things.

"What Bodhisattva Guanyin said is true. Emperor Xuanling will indeed not interfere in this matter." Tathagata spoke and made the decision, and the Buddhists immediately felt more relieved.

"Buddha, I think this matter cannot be ignored. Perhaps we should order someone to monitor it secretly." Bodhisattva Mahasthamaprapta made a suggestion.

Tathagata nodded: "You will lead the team over there to take charge of this matter."

Guanyin also said: "Not too far, not too close."

Mahasthamaprapta bowed and said, "I obey your orders, Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara's words make sense, and I will definitely follow them."

No one was willing to offend Hong Chen at this time, especially since Dashizhi had also participated in that battle. He was well aware of the horror of his opponent. Even if Jie Yin and Zhunti had shown up at that time, perhaps none of the four powerful Bodhisattvas in Buddhism would have survived.

Think about how many disciples Buddhism lost back then?

Medicine Master is of the same generation as Maitreya Buddha. If he were alive today, he would definitely be a top powerful person in Buddhism and would have attained Buddhahood.

Although the four of them, Piluxian, Lingyaxian, Qiushouxian, and Changerdingguangxian, were traitors to Jiejiao, who is sitting on the 12-level golden lotus now? If they were alive today, they might have achieved Buddhahood, or at least become Bodhisattvas.

There is also Juliusun, who rebelled against Jiejiao together with Guanyin, Manjusri and Samantabhadra. At that time, Juliusun's cultivation was higher than that of the three great Bodhisattvas. If they were alive until now, they might have attained Buddhahood long ago.

But these people all died directly or indirectly at the hands of Hong Chen.

It is no wonder that Hong Chen brought such tremendous pressure to the Buddhists in the Great Leiyin Temple as soon as he appeared.

After all, even Tathagata, the greatest master under the Buddhist saints, is no match for him.

However, now Tathagata has already reached the state of quasi-saint great perfection. I wonder if the outcome will be different if a fight breaks out between these two people again?

Thinking of this, the four great Bodhisattvas and others could not help but look at Tathagata.

Seeing this, Tathagata recalled the aura that Hong Chen had just exposed briefly. After a long while, he shook his head slightly, and the response rang out in the minds of the four great bodhisattvas: "I am not absolutely sure, but I can be sure that I will not lose again."

Although I was a little disappointed to hear this answer, it was still a draw after all, which made me feel a little relieved.

Come to think of it, although Tathagata has made great progress in his practice over the years, Hong Chen has not been idle either.

Tathagata is blessed with the fortune of Buddhism, and is also helped by the fortune of the prosperity of Buddhism.

But Hong Chen has also listened to the saints preaching for thousands of years, and has been favored by the three paths of heaven, earth and man, and blessed by the status of the Emperor of Heaven and the Emperor of Earth.

If we really compare them, Hong Chen is still more advantageous.

"Don't think too much. We don't need to be enemies with him." Tathagata reminded the four great bodhisattvas again, and then said, "Today's lecture was disrupted by that monkey. This is the fate, so let's stop here, and you can disperse."

After saying this, Tathagata disappeared along with the Twelve-Level Golden Lotus of Merit.

The Buddhists present chanted the Buddha's name together and then dispersed one by one.

In the end, the four great Bodhisattvas were left.

Mahasthamaprapta said, "Great Master Guanyin, you have had many contacts with the Great Emperor Xuanling. Based on your understanding of him, will he make a fuss about the Six-eared Macaque?"

Guanyin smiled and shook her head: "Don't worry, Mahasthamaprapta Bodhisattva. As far as I know, he will never obstruct the journey to the West. If he really wanted to do that first, then he would not have allowed his four disciples to participate in the journey to the West and share the merits."
