Chapter 629: The Way of the Red Dust

Chapter 629: The Way of the Red Dust
Xuanling Mountain.

As a strong aroma of wine wafted away, the six-eared macaque lying on the ground sniffed unconsciously and gradually woke up.

When he opened his eyes and saw a completely unfamiliar environment, he was startled and his whole body jumped up instantly. He retreated dozens of steps, then looked vigilantly at the figure under the tree in front of him.

But the next moment, Liu'er Macaque frowned suddenly again, covering his head with a painful expression, and memories gradually flooded back.

He remembered how he pretended to be someone else in order to achieve the Buddha's fruit position, and he also remembered how he was abandoned in the end. He also remembered how the golden cudgel hit him on the head and he was unable to fight back under the suppression.

Am I not dead?
The six-eared macaque was surprised and delighted, and quickly touched his body.

Soon, he raised his head and looked forward again, then ran forward quickly, and slid to his knees smoothly, leaving three marks on the grass.

The six-eared macaque kowtowed and said, "Thank you, Immortal, for saving my life!"

Hong Chen took the wine cup, scooped up the golden wine from the winemaking vat, poured it into his mouth, and couldn't help smacking his lips comfortably, with a satisfied smile on his face.

Turning back, he handed over the wine cup and said with a smile, "Would you like to try it?"

The six-eared macaque was stunned for a moment, then nodded woodenly, reached out to take it, raised his head and drank slowly.

The wine is not spicy when it goes down the throat, but rather has a refreshing fragrance in its sweetness. The flavors of grass and trees, the essence of the sun and the moon, the power of the stars, the alluring peach scent, etc. are all blended together and have distinct layers.

What's even more astonishing is that with his strength at the Golden Immortal Realm, just after taking a sip, his magic power instantly increased and his laws were improved, as if the great road that was difficult to comprehend in the past suddenly opened its door generously in front of him.

His monkey eyes couldn't help but widen. He quickly practiced his skills to absorb it quickly, but he didn't dare to drink the rest of the wine.

"How is it?" Hong Chen asked.

The six-eared macaque raised the wine bowl with both hands, lowered his head and said: "Great Immortal, this is excellent wine, it tastes great and has even better effects."

Hong Chen smiled, "It seems to be successful." He put away all three jars of wine and said, "Drink the one in your hand and meditate well."

The six-eared macaque was overjoyed: "Thank you, great immortal!" Then he raised his head, drank it all, and immediately sat cross-legged.

For a moment, magic power surged, laws intertwined, and the rhyme of Tao rose.

for a long time.

Liu'er opened his eyes, a divine light shone in his pupils, and his hair shone like gold. He no longer looked depressed.

He hurriedly turned his head to look around, then locked his eyes on the lake, grinned silently, and flew forward.

He knelt down and kowtowed again, saying: "Thank you for your generous gift, Great Immortal. I have nothing, so I will repay you with my life from now on! If the Great Immortal has any instructions, I will definitely die for you!"

Hong Chen didn't even turn his head, but just pointed at the table beside him.

Liu'er turned his head and saw a set of golden armor and a long stick on the table. Both of them were top-grade acquired spiritual treasures, and their power was no less than that of high-grade innate spiritual treasures.

He did not hesitate to stand up and walked forward. As soon as his palm touched, the golden armor extended along his arm like water and light, and covered it in a blink of an eye. He had it on, with two pheasant feathers on his head, a red cloak on his shoulders, and a Panlong stick in his hand, looking very graceful.

He took a step forward, his armor rubbing against each other making a sound of metal, his boots stomping on the ground with a powerful clang, and he clasped his hands together and bowed.

"Six Ears, meet the master!"

Hong Chen glanced back and his smile suddenly deepened.

The true form of the Six-Eared Macaque is extremely similar to the Spirit Stone Monkey Sun Wukong, with only slight differences in the ears and facial details.

Therefore, with this equipment on him, it is no different from Sun Wukong's past highlights.

It’s just that Sun Wukong used to be unruly and willful, while Liu’er Macaque is more like a leading general who has experienced a lot and is quite calm.

This is indeed the case. Compared with Sun Wukong, Liu Er Mihou was born earlier, but he experienced more setbacks and suffered more. If it weren't for the need of Buddhism, he would probably still be hiding in the wilderness, struggling to seek the truth.

But then again, Sun Wukong, who seemed to have a smooth life, was arranged to enter "Wukong's World" since he was born, while Liu'er Macaque still had quite a period of life that could be barely considered free.

What is good and what is bad depends on the real evaluation.

Hong Chen looked her up and down, nodded with satisfaction, and then asked, "Do you want to work in the Heavenly Court, or go to the Underworld to work? Or stay in Xuanling Mountain and sweep the floor for me?"

Without thinking, Liu Er Mihou said, "Liu Er is willing to sweep the floor for the master!"

"Don't you feel wronged?"

"I will never feel wronged. This is the greatest luck!"

"With your origin as one of the four monkeys, plus your past training, if I teach you the Dao technique, you will soon be able to break through Taiyi. In fact, in my opinion, you already have the foundation of Daluo, so it is not a problem for you to become a Daluo Jinxian after enlightenment. If not for this, the Buddhist sect should not have taken your life."

Liu Er gave a bitter smile. He had never imagined before that practicing too fast would be one of his own deaths.

As his thoughts raced, Liu Er's expression became more determined: "Whether it's a Golden Immortal, Taiyi, or Daluo, Liu Er will always obey the orders of his master!"

"Then you should stay in Xuanling Mountain."

Hong Chen rubbed his hands together and gave Liu Er the "Red Dust Taoism" which he had reorganized in his spare time. At the same time, he also gave him a batch of cultivation resources including elixirs, spiritual fruits, etc.

"The Red Dust Dao Fa is a fusion of many cultivation techniques, magical skills, combat techniques, and the Dao rhyme. I only passed it on to four of my disciples in the past." Hong Chen looked at him with a smile: "So, do you want to become my disciple?"

The six-eared macaque was holding a seemingly inconspicuous book. He could see that the existence of this book was only an appearance, and its actual appearance was a heritage full of brilliance and rich Taoist charm.

Hong Chen's question raised a wave of surging waves like a tsunami in Liu'er's heart, but such a change did not shake his character after experiencing the difficulty of life and death. Liu'er quickly suppressed the waves, and the sea surface immediately became calm and clear as a mirror.

"Master, Liu Er does not want to be your disciple, he only wants to serve you."

Hong Chen smiled and said, "You look like you have seen through the secular world. Then go ahead. There are many palaces in the mountains. Find a deserted place for retreat."

"Yes!" Liu'er kowtowed three times, then stood up and left.

Looking at Liu'er's heroic and calm back, Hong Chen couldn't help but smile: See you next time, it must be Daluo!
The talents of the Four Mischievous Monkeys are definitely first-rate in the prehistoric world. The Six-Eared Macaque would not be any worse than the Spiritual Stone Monkey, but they have different fates. His experience is more ups and downs than that of Sun Wukong.

Now that Hong Chen has personally taught him the Dao and resources, there is no reason for him to stay in the Golden Immortal Realm. Daluo Jinxian is not the end, but a new starting point in his life.

By the same token, if Sun Wukong had enjoyed more resources for martial arts, whether it was the inheritance of Patriarch Bodhi, the immortal dishes of the Peach Banquet, or the immortal pills of the Tushita Palace, he should not have been allowed to progress only to the Golden Immortal realm.

But the five hundred years under the Five Elements Mountain had destroyed the immortal power that should have been slowly absorbed into his body, and also blocked his path to further breakthroughs.

Otherwise, if a Golden Immortal Monkey accompanied Tang Sanzang on his journey to the West, it would be difficult for the Buddhist sect to find a monster that could embarrass the Golden Immortal as a disaster.

Of course, the blockade of Sun Wukong is only temporary. After the Journey to the West is over, Sun Wukong will soar into the sky. At that time, the Fighting Buddha will naturally be more worthy of the name.

"how?"

Hong Chen suddenly spoke.

The next moment, the void beside him suddenly twisted slightly, and the light swayed with it, like ripples of light caused by a stone falling into water.

He wears a phoenix-wing purple gold crown on his head, a golden chain mail armor on his body, and lotus silk cloud-walking shoes on his feet. His figure is slightly transparent, as if existing on the boundary between reality and illusion, making him unpredictable and unfathomable.

This is Sun Wukong, but not the Sun Wukong of prehistoric times, but the Sun Wukong from the Three Realms who has a close relationship with Hong Chen and has completed the mission of the Journey to the West and was named the Fighting Buddha.

He is not like the Monkey King in this world who is full of cleverness inside and out. Instead, he is like the six-eared macaque just now, with a calm and steady temperament, just like the Dinghai Shenzhen in the East China Sea back then. Only occasionally does a few gleams of brilliance appear in his eyes, showing his "spirituality" and "movement" different from that of ordinary people.

"No worse than me." Sun Wukong smiled.

Immediately, he looked at Hong Chen carefully again: "It has been more than ten thousand years since we last met, and now you can actually break through the realm and call me, could it be that you have already become a saint?"

"Of course not." Hong Chen shook his head at first, but then smiled: "But it will be soon."

Observing the changes in the kalpa energy, it was as if the Heavenly Dao revealed the Three Thousand Great Daos before his eyes without any cover, allowing him to examine and ponder them at will.

The progress of Hunyuan practice is natural and rapid, and the three thousand great ways gradually feel complete.

But other people's cultivation is mostly based on one avenue, supplemented by three thousand avenues. When one avenue is truly filled and perfected, it is the time to prove the Dao of Hunyuan Wuji Daluo. For example, the former great power of the prehistoric world, the Taoist with raised eyebrows in the hollow willow tree, an old friend of the Taoist ancestor Hongjun, and the leader of Hunyuan Daluo Jinxian.

However, Hong Chen's three thousand great ways are now almost on par with each other, and only his main swordsmanship is slightly ahead.

I think by the time he attains the state of Hunyuan Wudala, he should be able to defeat at least ten, if not three thousand Yangmeis, right?
So, how many Yang Meis would Daozu Hongjun's true combat power equal?

Hong Chen couldn't figure it out, but when he thought about it casually, it was quite exciting.

Of course, he would not directly challenge Yangmei or Hongjun. After all, one is his predecessor and the other is his master's master.

"Ah, you are still amazing!" Sun Wukong sighed as he sat next to Hong Chen. "After the Journey to the West, I knew that you had achieved the Great Dao, so I went to look for your clone that stayed in the Three Realms. But your clone was not very smart. Although it told me where you were, when it came to talking about other things, it was like a fool who lost half of his head in reincarnation."

"Hahaha, I did this on purpose. After all, I am originally from another world, so I don't need to comprehend the cultivation experience and feelings of other worlds. Therefore, maintaining the existence of only one clone of myself is already the greatest contribution to the heavens and myriad worlds. Moreover, if the clone is too smart, it is inevitable that sometimes it will be too autonomous, and eventually deviate from expectations and do something unpredictable."

Sun Wukong thought about it and nodded: "You are right, but I still don't quite understand. After all, after so many years, I have only just reached the perfect state of Taiyi Jinxian, and I am still far away from Daluo Jinxian. In fact... I can't even see where the future of Daluo Jinxian lies at the moment."

Hong Chen: "That's normal. After all, the laws of the Three Realms are inherently flawed. If you were in the prehistoric world, you would have realized it long ago."

"Forget it, let's stop talking nonsense. Why did you bring me here? It can't be for chatting!"

"Of course not. I am bringing you to break through to Daluo."

"Oh?"

Sun Wukong reached out his hand into the water, but his palm went straight through the water without causing any ripples. "Look at me in this state. I can't touch or comprehend the laws of the great Dao of the Great Desolation. How can I break through?"

"Simple. I will give you my mortal worldly methods and sufficient resources. In addition, I will give me the status of the emperor in the Three Realms. With these three, I will be able to help you break through to the Golden Immortal realm no matter what!"

Sun Wukong's eyes were bright, and he nodded: "That's right."

Hong Chen smiled and said, "But you'd better hurry up, preferably before the Great Journey to the West."

"That's not many years?" Sun Wukong frowned.

"Go to your underworld, Lady Pingxin will give you ten thousand times more time."

"Okay!" Sun Wukong stood up suddenly. "Ten thousand times of time is enough. If I can achieve the Daluo Dao, I can see what the Tathagata looks like. Xuanling, I'm leaving now. We'll meet again later!"

"Well, let's go."
-
the other side.

Tang Seng and his three disciples reunited, and Wukong told them about the six-eared macaque, which amazed them.

After a short rest, the four of them set off again. After a few days, they gradually felt the heat.

Tang Sanzang reined in his horse, wiped his sweat, shook his clothes, and said, "It's autumn now, why is it so hot?"

Bajie said, "I didn't know that there is a country called Shali on the way to the west. It is where the sun sets and is commonly called the end of the sky. At 3 pm, the king sends people to the city to beat drums and blow horns, mixing the sound with the boiling sea. The sun is the real fire, and it falls into the western sea, like fire quenching water, and the sound is boiling. If there were no sound of drums and horns, it would kill the children in the city. It is hot here, so it must be where the sun sets."

Sun Wukong couldn't help laughing when he heard this and said, "Don't talk nonsense, you fool! If we talk about the country of Shahali, it's too early. Master is fickle-minded. If you are like this, you will grow from young to old, and then be young again after three lifetimes, and you still won't get there."

Bajie asked, "Brother, according to you, it's not where the sun sets, so why is it so hot?"

Sha Monk said: "I think it's because the weather is not right, and it's autumn and summer."

As the three of them were arguing, they saw a farmhouse on the side of the road. It had a red-tiled house, red-brick walls, red-painted doors, and red-lacquered couches - everything was red.

Sanzang dismounted and said, "Wukong, go to that family and ask for information to find out the reason for the heat."

The Great Sage put away his golden cudgel, straightened his clothes, put on a polite demeanor, walked down the road, and went straight to the door to take a look.

Suddenly an old man walked out of the door. He looked up and was surprised to see Monkey. He leaned on his bamboo stick and shouted, "Where did you come from? What are you doing here?"

The monk replied, "Old donor, don't be afraid of me. I am not a weird person. I am an imperial envoy from the Tang Dynasty in the East to go to the West to seek scriptures. The four of us, master and disciples, just arrived in Baofang. We found the weather was hot. Firstly, we don't understand why, and secondly, we are not well-known in this place, so we specially ask for your advice."
