Bronze door through time and space
Chapter 883 The Battle of Bat and Super
Chapter 883 The Battle of Bat and Super
Pearl Harbor had been completely reduced to a bloody inferno. Only Captain Red Ribbon was still holding on. He cut off his left hand, which had mutated into tentacles, tied a flamethrower to the severed arm, and set fire to the flesh that had turned into predators. He laughed wildly, but it had no effect. Instead, it stirred up more blood mist, making his mutation even more severe. Before long, his uniform was torn apart by the ever-growing muscles. His exposed skin was covered with a dark red keratin layer, and his spine protruded from his back, turning into something like an exoskeleton, making him look less and less human.
When Naboo teleported the Red Ribbon Captain to him, he had become a fusion of an Abomination and a Red Giant, far beyond a simple mutation.
This is mainly because the Red Ribbon virus has condensed a rudimentary law, and the Red Ribbon Captain, as the source of the virus, is the possessor of the law, which is why he can fight against the flesh mutation, which also means that he has greater potential.
Nabu was very satisfied with this, and immediately spared no expense to pour endless flesh and blood energy into his body, distorting his nature, strengthening his origin, and sublimating him into a great demon under his command.
The Red Ribbon Captain knew he was becoming something far more terrifying, but he preferred to abandon his human identity and join it rather than die or become a mindless beast.
Superman, who should have arrived in time, was getting beaten up because Batman had challenged him to a fight, so he couldn't come and naturally missed the best opportunity to resolve the issue.
Compared to sunny Hawaii, the weather in Gotham Harbor is always terrible. At this moment, a torrential downpour shrouded the entire city in a hazy mist.
In a container terminal far from residential areas, searchlights streaked across the rain, casting pale white trails. The superhero Batman, clad in heavy green striped armor, emerged from the darkness, each step making a dull thud on the waterlogged ground that echoed through the empty terminal, sending chills down one's spine.
Batman displayed a style completely different from his usual silent stealth today, because this time he wasn't there to fight criminals, but to make God bleed.
This half-ton titanium alloy exoskeleton is inlaid with artificial kryptonite crystals in every joint, emitting a cold, eerie light in the rainy night, like a gaze from hell, leaving Superman speechless as he appeared out of nowhere. The targeting was a bit too obvious.
“Superman.” Bruce’s voice, processed by the armor’s built-in voice changer, sounded like two rusty iron plates rubbing against each other, carrying the cold, hard texture unique to metal.
“I know you, the Dark Knight of the Goths, who saved many people in the metropolis.” Superman didn’t have any ill will towards Batman. Although he didn’t like his style, that wasn’t a reason to fight. So he tried to resolve the conflict with words, but how could he change Batman’s will?
Touching the switch unleashes machine guns hidden in multiple corners, firing specially crafted armor-piercing rounds that are made at great expense, causing dazzling sparks to erupt on Superman's body.
Special armor-piercing rounds, capable of turning tank armor into cheese, cost over ten thousand dollars per shot and a million dollars per second, yet they are as harmless as feathers to Superman.
Of course, Batman had anticipated this and was also aware of Superman's habit of zero evasion, so the dense barrage was just to hide the kryptonite bullets mixed in.
Pure kryptonite bullets would be enough to send Superman to the hospital for emergency treatment. Batman only wanted to make Superman bleed so that he would understand that he was not a god among men. Even if he were, humans would have the power to kill gods. Therefore, he used artificial kryptonite.
Artificial kryptonite is only about 30% as effective as pure kryptonite. It won't make Superman as soft as tofu, but it will still make him so weak that he can't fly.
Seeing Superman tumbling down from the sky like a rooster, Batman, completely unaffected by his heavy armor, charged forward like a raging beast. His cape fluttered in the wind, and the fluorescent stripes on the edge of his armor cut through the rain, leaving fleeting afterimages.
Because of the excessive speed, Superman was sent flying before he could even land, crashing into the container behind him with a whooshing sound. And this was just the beginning. Before Superman could even stand up and recover from his weakened state, he heard a beeping sound in his ear. Turning his head, he saw Batman throwing a batarang at him out of nowhere.
As the explosion occurred, the green dust was inhaled by the unfortunate Superman, whose newly recovered state was once again locked in a state of weakness, and his steel body became fragile. Then, he was pinned to the ground and brutally beaten by Batman, who appeared out of nowhere.
"Superman, have you ever bled?" Batman asked in his unique voice as he knelt on one knee on Superman, pounding him with his iron fist.
Superman had no time to speak as the green glowing iron fists relentlessly pounded on his face without any mercy. The immense impact even caused Superman's head to slam into the ground, creating a crater the size of a bathtub, with his head sinking deep into it.
The radiation from the artificial kryptonite surged into Superman's body through the point of contact between his fist and skin. Superman felt as if his cells were being pricked by countless tiny needles. In the midst of the excruciating pain, he broke free from Batman's restraint, but still managed to push Batman away in a relatively gentle manner.
Batman, weighing over half a ton, was sent flying dozens of meters away by Superman's gentle push, skipping across the concrete ground until he crashed into a shipping container, which nearly broke the container in half.
Without dizziness or hesitation, Batman instantly broke free from the deeply stuck containers. He launched his artificial kryptonite darts, charged forward, and then fully utilized his skills to give Superman no chance to breathe, relentlessly beating him down with a series of heavy blows. Even the mountain of containers behind Superman was trembling, demonstrating that Batman's violence had completely exceeded the limits of normal human capabilities.
The terrifying pounding caused Superman's steel body and the steel structure behind him to groan in a sickening groan. Finally, unable to withstand the pressure, the stacks of containers collapsed like dominoes, burying the two in a twisted metal rubble.
In the past, even with the protection of a powered exoskeleton, Batman would still have to cough up blood. But now, Batman's muscle purity is beyond steel, and concrete is like soft mud to him. To kill him, that alone is far from enough.
Tearing through the steel overhead, Batman grabbed Superman's cape, stood up, and then threw him away.
Superman looked somewhat disheveled. He leaned against the deformed container wall and coughed up a mouthful of blood. His heat vision surged in his eyes like lava, but he hesitated to shoot it out, because he was Superman. Even if someone was pinning him down and beating him to death, he would not kill anyone.
"I meant no harm." Because of the lack of sunlight, Superman's recovery was slower, but he still wanted to explain clearly.
Batman remained silent, but steadily approached, putting considerable pressure on Superman.
“Sir, although I don’t want to interrupt you, I think you should take a look at this.” The butler’s voice interrupted Batman’s actions, and Superman secretly breathed a sigh of relief.
Batman's expression grew increasingly grim. Superman, whose powers were gradually returning, also heard the sound coming from there and looked very regretful. If he had gone earlier, perhaps things wouldn't have turned out this badly.
Both were highly capable of taking action. Superman flew to Pearl Harbor first, but was trapped in a chaotic spacetime by the Tower of Destiny. Batman piloted the Batplane to investigate, but was shot down by the flesh-and-blood anti-aircraft fire and was also infected. Just as he was about to lose consciousness, he saw the Catbus.
