Chapter 708 Kirialodians
Within that mysterious and unpredictable alternate dimension, filled with distorted energy flows, the Kirieloids moved like phantoms among strange, eerily glowing crystals. These crystals shimmered with a dark red, eerie light, elongating and distorting the Kirieloids' figures, adding to the mystery and sinister atmosphere of the space. Between the crystals, arcs of electric energy occasionally flickered and crackled, as if whispering ancient and malevolent prophecies.

Suddenly, a massive crystal ball began to tremble violently without warning, its internal light flashing like a small star about to explode. Its tremors caused ripples in the surrounding space, shaking down small crystals that had been suspended in the air, which rained down on the ground with crisp yet eerie shattering sounds. The people of Kirielod instantly stopped what they were doing; the previously noisy space fell silent in an instant, broken only by the hum of the trembling crystal ball and their rapid breathing. Their eyes were fixed on the crystal ball, filled with vigilance and unease, as if it were a ferocious beast ready to devour them at any moment.

Within the crystal ball, Cui Ming's figure gradually emerged. He was piloting the Barias, engaging in a fierce battle with Sadra with overwhelming force. The Barias's metallic shell gleamed with a cold luster in the firelight of the battle, resembling a colossal steel beast. Cui Ming's hands moved rapidly across the control panel, precisely maneuvering the Barias; every movement, every attack, was perfectly timed.

High-pressure howitzers erupted from the Barias's weapon system, streaking across the battlefield like meteors, striking Sadra's body and sending sparks flying, each drop a mixture of flesh and blood. Though Sadra was massive and thick-skinned, it gradually showed signs of fatigue under Cui Ming's relentless onslaught, its body riddled with wounds and dripping with blood. The decisiveness and precision Cui Ming displayed in controlling the Barias, along with its overwhelming firepower, sent a chill down the spines of the Kirieloid people. They knew that such a powerful opponent, if made an enemy, would be a major obstacle to their plan to conquer Earth.

"Why is the aura emanating from this person so familiar yet so terrifying?" A rather thin Kirieloid said in a trembling voice. He curled up slightly, unconsciously hiding behind a large crystal beside him, as if that would allow him to escape the oppressive feeling emanating from the crystal ball. His eyes were wide open, staring intently at Cui Ming within the crystal ball, his body trembling slightly with fear, muttering to himself, "This power... Could it be... Impossible, it's just a legend."

"Could it be that he is the legendary Nexus who violently beat Gatanjeal thousands of years ago?" An older Kirialod priest wearing a strange bone headdress had a trace of fear in his eyes, but more of it was disbelief. He slowly took a step forward, placed his hands on the edge of the crystal ball, and closely observed Cui Ming's every move. After all, that period of history was too long. To them now, Nexus was just a legendary figure passed down in ancient books and oral traditions. It is recorded in the classics that Nexus possesses extremely powerful power. His light can illuminate the darkness, and its darkness can also cover the light.

His power was enough to destroy all evil. But now, could this human driving a tank really be the legendary being? The priest was filled with doubt and unease. He turned to his companions, hoping to get some answers from them, but his companions were also filled with confusion and fear.

A brief, deathly silence fell over the entire alternate dimension. The Kirieloids exchanged bewildered glances, each seeing a deep-seated apprehension in the other's eyes. They stood frozen, as if under a spell, afraid to even breathe. However, their inherent arrogance, their self-perceived superiority, was not completely swallowed by this sudden fear. After a brief silence, a burly Kirieloid warrior, his muscles bulging like rocks, broke the oppressive atmosphere with a cold snort: "Hmph, so what if he might be Nexus?" He waved his arms as he spoke, trying to bolster his and his companions' courage. "So many years have passed; we Kirieloids are no longer what we were then, and our strength is vastly different. Besides, Nexus is just a legendary figure; who knows if he's really that powerful? Maybe he's just been exaggerated." His voice was firm, but a slight tremor betrayed a hint of unease within him.

“That’s right, we cannot back down because of a possible threat,” another Kyrielord echoed, his eyes gleaming with fanaticism. “We Kyrielords are destined to become the masters of humanity, to make them grovel at our feet and worship us as gods. This is our mission, without question! A mere human, even if he really is Nexus, cannot stop our advance.” As he spoke, he clenched his fist, as if he could already see humanity submitting to them.

After a heated debate, the people of Kirieloid finally reached a consensus. They decided that after some time, they would reveal to humanity that they were gods. They planned to exploit humanity's awe and curiosity about the unknown, bewitching more people into becoming their followers, and then enslaving them to serve them. They knew that the human heart was full of weaknesses—greed, fear, and desire—all of which could be used as tools. They could demonstrate supernatural powers to make humanity believe they were incarnations of gods, thus gaining their willing following.

After all, in their eyes, humans were nothing more than a group of weak and ignorant creatures, easily deceived by their sweet talk. And that being, possibly Nexus, though powerful, was alone; the Kirieloids were numerous and possessed unique abilities, making them a formidable opponent. They could utilize the advantages of their extradimensional space to conceal their whereabouts and launch surprise attacks. They could also exploit humanity's fear of them, creating chaos and weakening human resistance. In their plan, everything seemed perfect, as if victory was already beckoning them.

However, they seem to have overlooked one crucial point: the Kyrielords might still remember the terror of Nexus. In the distant past, the power Nexus displayed was enough to shake the entire universe. Each of his battles was a cataclysmic disaster, his enemies vanishing in his radiance. The Kyrielords had witnessed Nexus's terror firsthand and knew his power was far beyond their comprehension. Yet, the Kyrielords of today, driven by arrogance and ignorance, have chosen to ignore this potential threat, continuing to veer into a perilous abyss, driven by ambition.
