Chapter 944 Assassination: Unrivaled!

In a narrow alley, the streetlights had long been destroyed by the Kirieloids. Darkness enveloped everything like thick ink. Only four corpses controlled by energy beings huddled in a corner, their bodies glowing with a faint red light that flickered on and off. Their stiff fingers clicked against each other, making a soft "click-click" sound, as if checking if their companions were still there, or perhaps wary of the darkness in the alley.

Cui Ming's figure was pressed against the shadow of the alley wall, almost blending into the darkness. His fingertips hooked the iron chain, and the cold chain links slid gently in his palm, making a slight friction sound.

His gaze was fixed on the back of the neck of the outermost corpse—the skin there was slightly bulging due to the energy surging inside, and a faint red light could be seen flowing beneath the skin; it was the most vulnerable connection point in the entire controlled body.

The next second, he suddenly raised his hand, and the iron hook shot out with a sharp "whoosh" sound. The curved hook accurately hooked the back of the corpse's neck, and the sharp hook tip directly pierced through the loose skin and got firmly stuck in the cervical vertebrae.

Before the corpse could make any struggle, Cui Ming suddenly pulled his wrist back, the chain tightened instantly, and with a crisp "crack," the corpse was lifted off the ground and crashed straight into the deeper darkness at the end of the alley like a rag doll.

The corpse flailed its stiff arms wildly in mid-air, the energy within its body flickering wildly due to the violent shaking, the red light almost bursting through the skin, yet not even a faint sound could be uttered—Cui Ming had already spread his arms in the darkness, steadily catching the flying corpse, his left hand instantly covering its mouth and nose to prevent the energy from making a sound through the corpse; at the same time, his right hand drew the short knife from his waist, and viciously twisted it inward along the wound where the iron hook had pierced.

With a soft "sizzle," the energy within the corpse instantly shattered, turning into specks of red light that scattered in Cui Ming's palm. He clenched his fist, and the red light vanished in his palm, leaving not a trace of energy behind.

The remaining three corpses then reacted, stiffly turning their necks and stretching their arms out to grab at the darkness, their fingertips trembling slightly from the force.

But Cui Ming had already dropped the iron hook and dagger, and pulled out a chainsaw from behind his back—the moment his finger pressed the start switch, a high-frequency vibration suddenly pierced the silence of the alley, and the alloy blade on the saw teeth gleamed with a cold light, drawing a fleeting silver line in the darkness.

He quickly moved to the side, stepping on the base of the wall to avoid the withered hand reaching out from the corpse in front. He then slashed the chainsaw upwards at an angle, the serrated teeth precisely biting into the corpse's chest cavity.

"Sizzle—" The sound of the alloy saw teeth shredding flesh and bones was particularly piercing. The energy body throbbed violently in the chest cavity, and red light seeped out through the tears in the corpse's skin, as if desperately crying for help.

With a flick of his wrist, Cui Ming slashed the chainsaw upwards along the chest, reaching the neck, instantly splitting the corpse in two. The upper body, covered in splattered ashes, crashed to the ground with a dull thud.

The energy body inside darted out of the corpse like startled insects, but Cui Ming raised his hand and blocked it with the chainsaw. The high-speed rotating saw teeth directly shredded the energy body into seven or eight pieces of light. The pieces of light flashed twice in the air before completely dissipating into the air.

The other two corpses lunged at them from the left and right, their movements still stiff, but with a desperate, reckless ferocity.

Cui Ming leaped backward with his left foot, dropping the still-humming chainsaw. He drew a battle axe from his waist with his right hand—the handle was wrapped with dark brown anti-slip rope, making it feel exceptionally solid in his hand. It was the one Asuka often used, and the edge of the axe blade still bore the small dents left from when he had killed monsters before, now gleaming with a dull, heavy light in the darkness.

His gaze locked onto the knee of the corpse on the left—it was unusually stiff due to improper control of the energy body, and even fine cracks could be seen at the joint. Cui Ming rushed forward and swung his battle axe diagonally down. With a crisp "crack," the corpse's lower leg was severed, and the red light at the cut instantly dimmed.

The corpse lost its balance and fell forward. Cui Ming took advantage of the situation, stepped forward, stepped on its back, gripped the axe handle with both hands, and chopped down hard on the back of the corpse.

The axe blade pierced through the corpse and embedded itself in the bricks and stones of the ground. The energy inside was squeezed by the axe blade, emitting a sizzling sound. Red light spilled out from the gaps in the corpse, but was completely shattered by Cui Ming's twisting of the axe handle, and then there was no more movement.

Seeing his companions being killed one after another, the corpse on the right turned and ran towards the alley entrance, its stiff feet dragging on the ground with a "rustling" sound, as if it was futilely trying to buy time to escape.

Cui Ming bent down and pulled the battle axe from the ground. He swung his arm back to gather strength and hurled the battle axe. The axe blade whistled through the air, like a black lightning bolt, and struck the back of the corpse's neck with precision. With a "thud," it severed the cervical vertebrae, and the corpse fell forward, its head rolling two meters away and hitting the ground with a few soft thuds.

The energy body inside had just burst out from the severed neck when it was struck by the residual force of the flying battle axe and instantly disintegrated into tiny specks of light.

"What power! That throw was really strong!!! I love it!!!" A deep, excited cheer suddenly came from the darkness. Getter Emperor's phantom slowly emerged from the wall behind Cui Ming. His huge metallic body shimmered with a pale golden aura, almost filling the sky above the narrow alley. The phantom clenched his right fist and slammed it heavily into his palm, making a muffled "thump, thump" sound. "That's powerful! I love this kind of clean and decisive fighting style! Do you need me to send you some power? I guarantee I'll make sure you can tear these bastards apart even more thoroughly!"

Cui Ming stepped forward, bent down to pick up the battle axe, gently wiped the ashes off the blade with his fingers, looked up at the phantom of Emperor Geta, and said in a calm but undeniably firm tone: "No need."

Getter Emperor's phantom paused for a moment, then let out a low laugh: "Ha! How arrogant! Well then I'll keep watching and see how you take care of the rest! Fight! Then evolve!"

Suddenly, heavy footsteps echoed from the alley entrance. Six corpses controlled by the Kirieloids stumbled and rushed to provide support. The red light within their bodies was brighter than before, clearly indicating that energy beings were forcibly activating their bodies, attempting to overwhelm their opponents with sheer numbers.

Cui Ming slowly turned his head, his gaze falling on the direction of the alley entrance. His lips were expressionless, only a hint of coldness lurked deep in his eyes. He raised his hand and hoisted the battle axe onto his shoulder. The ashes still clinging to the blade fell gently with the movement, leaving faint gray traces in the darkness. With his other hand, he picked up the chainsaw from the ground, pressed the switch with his fingertips, and the vibrating "hum" sounded again. The cold light gleaming as the saw teeth turned cast alternating light and shadow on his face.

Then, carrying his weapon, he walked step by step toward the alley entrance. His pace was slow, but each step was exceptionally steady, the soles of his shoes making a soft "crunch" sound as they rolled over the gravel on the ground, which was particularly clear in the quiet alley.

To the six Kirieloids, the footsteps struck their consciousness like a hammer blow—Cui Ming's figure wasn't particularly tall, but in their eyes, he appeared as an ever-expanding shadow, gradually enveloping the entire alley. The battle axe on his shoulder and the chainsaw in his hand had become weapons of death; with each step closer, the corpses they controlled trembled uncontrollably, their energy flickering wildly within them, yet they lacked even the courage to advance.

One of the Kirieloids tried to maneuver the corpse backward, but the moment its stiff ankle twitched, Cui Ming suddenly quickened his pace, the whirring of the chainsaw instantly becoming shrill. In their vision, Cui Ming's figure seemed to transform into a black lightning bolt, closing the distance in an instant—this was no human! It was clearly a demon king crawled out of hell!
They wanted to escape, but their bodies seemed nailed to the spot. They could only watch helplessly as Cui Ming approached with his weapon, feeling the oppressive aura that nearly caused their energy bodies to disintegrate. Even the strength to manipulate their corpses into defensive movements vanished without a trace under this intimidating force. (End of Chapter)
