Pokémon's Lord of Fear
Chapter 518 Turning into a Ghost 32
Teng Shu yawned; he was a little sleepy. However, he still remembered the rest of the script, since the movie "Ghost" was quite long. So, Teng Shu continued writing. As he wrote, his eyes became more focused, and he wrote faster and faster. Some other script ideas even flashed through his mind, but for now, Teng Shu prioritized finishing this script. He could deal with the rest later.
As night fell, the streets of Bangkok gradually fell silent, with only the lights of the Osti Apartments flickering faintly in the darkness. This old apartment building, weathered by time, had mottled walls and creaking stairs, as if telling untold secrets. However, the Osti Apartments were destined to be anything but peaceful tonight, for a soul that should not have returned was trying to step into this cursed land. The soul of the scumbag Jiabang drifted downstairs, his expression bewildered and fearful. He had died in a car accident and should have been scattered to the winds, yet for some reason, a wisp of his soul still lingered in the mortal world. He gazed at the apartment window, his eyes filled with longing—this was where he and his girlfriend Buppa had lived together. Despite the abuse he had inflicted on her, at this moment, he only wanted to find a place to belong, even if it was just a temporary shelter.
Jiabang's soul slowly drifted into the apartment. The decaying wooden door creaked shrilly, as if warning him not to step into this place. A chilling atmosphere permeated the corridor. The wallpaper on the walls was peeling away, revealing mottled surfaces. His footsteps echoed in the empty corridor, but no one responded. Suddenly, a bone-chilling cold swept over him, and Jiabang's soul trembled violently. He turned around and saw a pale figure slowly emerging from the stairwell—it was Bupa, his ex-girlfriend, and also the female ghost of this apartment. Her face was distorted, her eyes were empty, and a strange smile hung on her lips. Bupa didn't speak, but slowly raised her hand. A ghostly blue light burst from her palm, striking Jiabang's soul directly. The intense pain made him let out a silent scream. His soul twisted and struggled in mid-air, as if being torn apart by an invisible force.
"You...you dare to come back?" Buppa's voice was icy cold, as if it came from the depths of hell. Jiabang tried to explain, "Buppa, I...I just wanted to find a place to stay..." "Stay?" Buppa sneered, "This is not a place for you!" She waved her hand again, and the eerie blue light lashed at Jiabang's soul like a whip. Each lash was accompanied by a sharp scream and twisting pain. Jiabang's soul was dragged against the wall and slammed against it, making a dull thud. His form began to blur, as if it would dissipate at any moment. However, Jiabang's obsession was too deep. His soul did not completely dissipate but struggled to re-form. Buppa's eyes grew colder and colder. She approached step by step, and with each step, the floor made a teeth-grinding creak.
"You killed me, and now you want to take my place?" Bupa's voice was low and angry. She suddenly reached out and grabbed Jiabang by the throat. Jiabang's soul struggled violently in her hand, but could not break free. Bupa's strength grew stronger and stronger, and Jiabang's form began to disintegrate, turning into specks of light and dissipating into the air. Bupa did not stop there. She knew that there were other residents in the Osdi Apartments. Although they could not see her, she could feel their presence. She decided to let these residents experience the taste of fear as well. Late at night, an old woman living alone was fast asleep in her bedroom. Suddenly, her door opened silently, and a chill rushed into the room. The old woman woke up with a start, only to see a pale figure standing by her bed—it was Bupa.
The old woman screamed and desperately shrank back into the corner of the bed. Bupa slowly raised her hand, her fingertips glowing with an eerie blue light. The old woman felt a sharp pain, as if countless tiny needles were piercing her skin. Her body convulsed, and she let out a shrill scream before finally losing consciousness. The next day, the apartment manager found the old woman lying on the bed, trembling all over, muttering "ghost...ghost..." The manager thought she was just having a nightmare, but little did he know that the real terror had only just begun. Jiabang's soul had already dissipated, but Bupa's rage had not subsided. She roamed every corner of the apartment, searching for other "sinners."
A drunken tenant was in the living room when suddenly his glass shattered for no apparent reason. A shard of glass cut his finger. He looked up and saw Bupa standing before him, staring at him expressionlessly. "Who...who are you?" he asked, trembling. Bupa didn't answer, but slowly raised his hand. The tenant felt a dizzying sensation, his vision blurred, and he lost consciousness. One by one, the residents of the apartment building experienced bizarre events, but none of them could explain them. Gradually, the reputation of the Osdy Apartments worsened, and the residents moved out one after another, leaving only Bupa wandering alone in the empty apartment building.
However, Bhupa's revenge did not bring her relief; her soul remained trapped in the apartment, unable to find liberation. One day, a high-ranking monk passed by the Osdy Apartments and sensed a strong resentment. The monk entered the apartment, closed his eyes, clasped his hands together, and chanted scriptures. A deep blue light emanated from his palms, enveloping the entire apartment. Bhupa's figure appeared in the light; her face softened, and the resentment in her eyes gradually dissipated. "Let go of your attachments, and you will find liberation," the monk's voice was deep and compassionate. Bhupa knelt on the ground, tears streaming down her face. She finally understood that revenge could not bring her true peace. The monk's hand gently touched her forehead, and a warm light flowed into her soul.
Buppa's form gradually became transparent, eventually turning into starlight and dissipating into the air. Her soul was given the chance to be reincarnated into a happy family and begin a new life. The Osdy Apartments returned to peace, and sunlight streamed through the windows into the empty rooms. The mold on the walls seemed to have faded somewhat. The manager decided to renovate the apartments to attract new residents. No one knew what had happened here. Only the occasional passerby would vaguely hear whispers coming from the apartments, as if it were Buppa's final farewell. As for Jiabang's soul, it had long since vanished completely in Buppa's revenge and could no longer do evil. The story of the Osdy Apartments became a forgotten legend, only occasionally mentioned in the midnight breeze.
The story of becoming a ghost is naturally not over. In fact, there are four movies in total: Becoming a Ghost 1, Becoming a Ghost 2, Becoming a Ghost 3.1, and finally Becoming a Ghost 3.2, which is the four-part series. However, Becoming a Ghost 1 and 2 are considered a series, which is where it ends. Becoming a Ghost 3.1 and 3.2 are movies that were forcibly produced by capital because of the value of becoming a ghost, and the subsequent movies seem a bit strange. But overall, they are still worth watching. Becoming a Ghost 1 was even used by a certain superpower in the universe to make a movie. As for which country, it goes without saying. Thinking of this, Teng Shu hesitated for a moment, and then decided to write the rest of the Becoming a Ghost story first, as a continuous movie. That way, it would save the other party from coming to him. After all, Teng Shu did not intend to let the other party come to him. By then, he would be retired.
The plot of Ghost 2 continues from Ghost 1, except that the landlady is now old. She begs Buppa and Jiabang to let her go and let some people into the apartment, otherwise she can't live. Then a blind girl moves in, followed by two men. The landlady is very excited, thinking that her prayers have worked, so Buppa and the others let her go. However, what the landlady doesn't know is that these two men are actually bank robbers. They were originally comedians, but because their performances were bad, they were often ridiculed and eventually got into a fight with the audience, which ruined their careers. So they had no choice but to become robbers. The other two accomplices also find them and prepare to split the money.
However, on the other side, Jiabang stopped the blind girl who wanted to jump off the building and chatted with her. But Jiabang didn't do anything; he just felt that the girl looked familiar. Later, Jiabang remembered that when he was still alive, he had accidentally hit someone with his car, causing the person to go blind. The person he hit was this blind girl. But Bupa noticed Jiabang's behavior and asked him what he had done. However, Jiabang didn't tell the truth, which made Bupa very angry because she hated liars the most. Tengshu didn't quite understand, after all, Jiabang's leg had been sawed off by Bupa. The reason was Jiabang's behavior in the first part. Tengshu had made some changes to the plot of the first part because Jiabang's behavior was honestly a bit like a scumbag, which made Bupa seem a bit love-struck.
In the original storyline, Jiabang died from drug overdose, his body decomposed, and his soul found Bupa. Later, when Jiabang went down to buy porridge, the girl selling it made various advances towards the wealthy and handsome Jiabang, and Jiabang, without hesitation, took the girl out for another tryst. When Bupa returned, she asked where the porridge was, and Jiabang said it was closed. Bupa went down to buy porridge herself, looking at the girl who had been having an affair with Jiabang with anger in her eyes. Bupa then went back and sawed off Jiabang's legs. Although Jiabang was a soul, because Bupa was also a soul, Jiabang's legs were still sawed off by Bupa and could not be restored, so he could only move around in a wheelchair. The girl was also possessed at first, but was later rescued. It was for this reason that Tengshu changed the storyline.
The original plot had some issues here. Many viewers, while guessing Jiabang might be dead when he returned, genuinely didn't expect him to be such a scumbag. The plot point of Jiabang's death was quite interesting and cleverly designed, but it also had its problems. Jiabang's scumbag character made him seem less appealing. While, strictly speaking, Jiabang's behavior wasn't inherently wrong—he was a scumbag from the very beginning. He met Bupa, slept with her for a bet on a bottle of wine, and later abandoned her after her abortion, causing her to bleed and die from lack of care. So, Jiabang's character has always been that of a scumbag; it's just that viewers enjoy stories of prodigal sons returning home.
It's absurd that Jiabang would conceal Buppa's true feelings, given that he knew her emotional state. Essentially, Jiabang felt indebted and guilty towards the blind girl, not harboring any negative emotions. Even if he had spoken up, it wouldn't have mattered. But Jiabang's silence seemed irrational. Although he used the robbers' money to help the girl get vision restoration surgery, he was still tormented by Buppa because of it. Buppa sewed Jiabang's mouth shut with needle and thread. During this time, Buppa asked Jiabang several times what had happened, but Jiabang always denied it, insisting everything was fine. Buppa, believing him to be lying, killed him. At this point, a master arrived, found Buppa, and successfully subdued her. Jiabang wanted to help Buppa, but because his mouth was sewn shut, his strength was somewhat affected, and he ultimately couldn't stop her. The jar sealing Buppa was sent to a temple for burning and worship, thus Buppa's soul was reincarnated.
That's why Teng Shu said that "The Eye 1" and "The Eye 2" are considered the same version, while the story of "The Eye 3" still takes place in the same apartment, only the people have changed a lot, and the landlady is a different person. However, Buppa still appears. Now, some clever viewers might ask, why did Buppa die even after being reincarnated? It's because Buppa had very bad luck. This unlucky girl was reincarnated as a little girl, and then encountered the same problems as before, and was even killed by a pervert who broke her jaw. So Buppa became a ghost again, but this time there are two ghosts. One is Buppa with memories of her past life, and the other is Buppa's reincarnation, the unlucky little girl. Buppa's personality is actually quite gentle, but the little girl's is not.
The plots of the two "Ghost 3" films revolve around a little girl who, due to her stepfather and the psychopath, intensely hates men and goes on a killing spree with a razor, displaying extreme ruthlessness. This results in a large number of deaths in the third film. However, overall, it's somewhat unfortunate that the series falls short of the first two films. Because of this, no further movies were made, which is a good thing. "Ghost 3.2" thus became the final installment of the "Ghost" series, a conclusion that Teng Shu found quite satisfactory and perfectly executed. (End of Chapter)
