Chapter 81: Making Fire and Finding Water (Please Read)
#XXX hours have passed since the NZXXXX flight crashed. A total of 240 passengers were killed. Several bodies have been found and the rescue operation is still underway#
Liu Ruyan turned off her cell phone. There was a sickly paleness on her face. She hadn't eaten for a day and hadn't left the office.

He Min stood anxiously at the door of the office, looking at her cell phone from time to time until Shen Zhuo arrived.

"Brother Shen, please persuade General Manager Liu! General Manager Liu hasn't eaten for a day." Shen Zhuo nodded and walked into the office.

"Put the document down! I'll take a look at it later!" Liu Ruyan turned her back to the office door.

"Miss..." Shen Zhuo called softly.

When Liu Ruyan heard Shen Zhuo's voice, she quickly turned around and looked at him.

"How's it going? Is there any news?"

"Miss, the young master has already gone there in person, and there is no news yet...but among the bodies of the victims found so far, there is no Mr. Jiang."

"Hmm..." Liu Ruyan pursed her lips, with a lingering sadness between her brows.

"Miss, please eat something!" Shen Zhuo opened the insulated lunch box beside him and pushed it in front of Liu Ruyan.

Liu Ruyan took the chopsticks and took a few bites. She was very picky about food to begin with, and now she couldn't eat any more.

.......
Jiang Huai walked along the coast and came to a place with a wide view to see if there were any ships.

The sea was calm and there was little hope.

"Ah!" Jiang Huai screamed, releasing his suppressed emotions.

Many seabirds flew out from the woods behind because of Jiang Huai’s calls.

"Is anyone there?" came an echo.

Jiang Huai widened his eyes. Was he hallucinating?
It seems like someone is responding to me!
"Is anyone there?" Jiang Huai also shouted loudly.

This time he listened carefully and found someone responding to him. He walked in the direction of the voice and saw a man running towards him in the distance.

Humans are social animals and they feel safe when they see other human beings. Jiang Huai put his social phobia behind him and rushed towards the person who was coming.

"Brother, are you Chinese?" Jiang Huai asked impatiently.

The man looked to be about 27 or 28 years old, wearing a pair of glasses, and was very gentle and refined, which fits the image of a otaku.

"Yes, are you a survivor too?" the man with glasses asked Jiang Huai.

"Yes!"

Jiang Huai and the man with glasses had a brief conversation, and both of them had a general understanding of each other.

The man with glasses is named Zhang Zhifan. He is an online writer by profession and a real otaku. His hobby is traveling around the world to find writing inspiration.

The two planned to wait for rescue together.

"Have you seen any other survivors here?" Jiang Huai asked Zhang Zhifan.

Zhang Zhifan pointed to one side of the coast and said, "I woke up over there. After I woke up, I stayed there waiting for rescue. I ran over when I heard your voice just now."

"But... when I woke up, there were other people around me. They were all... dead. I buried them all." When Zhang Zhifan said this, there was a hint of fear in his eyes.

Anyone who lies with a few dead bodies would probably feel a chill down their spine. But Zhang Zhifan was quite kind; at least he buried all the bodies.

"Did you see a girl? She was wearing a white sweatshirt and black casual pants. She looked young, like a college student." Jiang Huai asked Zhang Zhifan about Su Momo.

Zhang Zhifan shook his head when he heard this. "No, the bodies I buried were all male. The only female was an old woman."

Jiang Huai breathed a sigh of relief. There was still a chance. "Can you give me something to eat?" Zhang Zhifan stared at the bread on Jiang Huai's body.

Jiang Huai thought about it and gave a few pieces to Zhang Zhifan. There was only one pack left, and he didn't know how long it would take to get rescued.

"How about we see if there are any other survivors on the island?" Jiang Huai suggested.

"Okay!" Zhang Zhifan agreed without saying a word. The reason why he didn't take action before was because he was worried that he would be in danger alone. The two of them teamed up and began to explore along the coastline.

"By the way, do you have anything that can make a fire?" Jiang Huai asked Zhang Zhifan.

He had experienced the discomfort of darkness last night, so today he had to find a way to make a fire. Fire could create smoke, which would increase the chances of being rescued.

"No, you can't bring lighters on the plane, and my cell phone is broken." Zhang Zhifan said dejectedly.

However, when his eyes swept over Jiang Huai's glass water bottle, color appeared in his eyes again.

"Wait a minute, I might have a way to try."

"What method?" Jiang Huai asked doubtfully.

Zhang Zhifan pointed to the glass water cup on Jiang Huai's waist and said, "Use this. The bottom of the bottle is a convex mirror, which can focus light to make a fire."

"The sun is so bright now, it's a good time to make a fire!"

"Okay, let's start a fire!" The two stopped.

Zhang Zhifan asked Jiang Huai to find a way to remove the bottom of the glass bottle, while he went into the woods to look for some dry firewood and grass.

There was very little water left in the glass bottle, so Jiang Huai simply drank it in one gulp.

Jiang Huai wrapped the bottom of the glass bottle with clothes, then found a stone and smashed it on the waist of the glass bottle. After about a dozen hits, the glass bottle broke into two halves. Jiang Huai continued to use the stone to knock and modify the bottom of the glass bottle, trying to make its edge smoother.

Zhang Zhifan came back from the woods with dry firewood and straw sandals. Under the scorching sun, the two of them began to focus sunlight with the bottom of a glass bottle.

After seven or eight minutes, the hay began to turn black and a white smoke slowly rose.

The hay is burning!

The two were very excited and continued to add hay to increase the fire, then lit the dry firewood and transported the fire to the bottom of the forest.

If they continued to be under the scorching sun, both of them would probably get heatstroke. So they added more firewood to the fire, hoping that it would burn for a long time.

"Let's go! Let's go look for some fresh water. This fire should last until we get back."

Jiang Huai took Zhang Zhifan to search in the woods, and made some marks on the road to prevent them from getting lost.

The two of them kept shouting into the dense forest, asking if there was anyone there, but received no response.

"Jiang Huai, there are coconut trees here!" Zhang Zhifan excitedly pulled Jiang Huai.

Jiang Huai looked up and saw that there were indeed several coconut trees, but the trees were more than ten meters tall and had smooth trunks, making them difficult to climb.

"We can't pick it either!" Jiang Huai was in trouble. He was not good at climbing trees, and this tree didn't seem to have any footholds.

Zhang Zhifan patted his chest and said, "Watch me."

After saying that, Zhang Zhifan took off the clothes that blocked his head, then tore off two pieces of cloth and tied them around his hands.

Under Jiang Huai's surprised gaze, Zhang Zhifan climbed up the coconut tree like a monkey and threw down many coconuts from it.
