Chapter 599 The Dramatic Changes in New Luofu! Today, the dust has settled and light shines forth, illuminating countless mountains and rivers!

This great calamity was caused by the Dao and principles of another world brought by Luofu, which led to a reversal of the great trend of the Heavenly Dao.

In terms of intensity and magnitude, it certainly cannot compare to the great calamity of the Investiture of the Gods.

But it is by no means something that the mere Journey to the West tribulation, which is beginning to enter the Dharma-ending Age, can afford to provoke.

In the great calamity of the Investiture of the Gods, the sages truly possessed decisive power. In this great calamity between humans and demons, one must at least be a Great Luo Golden Immortal, and even then, a Great Luo Golden Immortal can only influence the situation on a small scale.

The decisive power, at the very least, must be at the level of a quasi-saint.

Although a Quasi-Saint is also a Great Luo Golden Immortal, he is in a special stage between a Great Luo Golden Immortal and a Saint.

Without a doubt, even if all the teams that went west were combined, they might not be able to match the cultivation level of a Great Luo Golden Immortal.

Why is it that, despite having a powerful background, the westward-bound team didn't even have any impressive magical weapons?

Furthermore, the Great Luo Golden Immortal is not someone that Sun Wukong, with his indestructible body and infinite endurance buff, can easily fool.

Even if Sun Wukong and others joined this great calamity, their participation only slightly strengthened the human race's power, and had little strategic significance for the overall relationship between the human and demon races.

The army was stationed in a military formation with many human cultivators and soldiers.

Sun Wukong truly deserves to be named the Victorious Fighting Buddha by the Buddha.

Although they are not easy to kill, they are extremely belligerent.

This kind of battlefield of great calamity is definitely Sun Wukong's favorite.

In particular, they are directly backed by the Tang Dynasty, the largest empire of the human race, which also has the support of the Heavenly Court and the Underworld.

They returned from another fierce battle.

Sun Wukong grinned excitedly and said to Tang Sanzang, who was reciting scriptures to pray for the souls who died in the battle, "Master, I, Old Sun, have killed several more demon kings today."

Pigsy grunted and said, "Brother Monkey, those you killed were just a bunch of lackeys at best."

On this point, Pigsy wasn't deliberately being argumentative.

The so-called demon king that Sun Wukong spoke of was actually nothing more than the kind of monster that ruled over a mountain in his mind.

After all, Sun Wukong once wore an ochre-yellow robe. In addition, he experienced the havoc in the Heavenly Palace, being suppressed under the Five Fingers Mountain, and escorting Tang Sanzang to the Western Paradise to obtain Buddhist scriptures. Although his cognition has indeed changed, he still subconsciously refers to those monsters who are qualified to occupy mountains as demon kings.

In such a great battle, the so-called demon kings mentioned by Sun Wukong were at most ordinary demon immortals. Not to mention Taiyi Golden Immortals like him, even Immortal Golden Immortals were pitifully few.

Pigsy was clearly very clever. Not only him, but apart from the combative Monkey King and Tang Sanzang who was constantly performing rituals to help the dead, Sandy and the White Dragon Horse almost all adopted a half-hearted attitude in this great battle.

They knew all too well what such a major battle truly meant.

Zhu Bajie was once Marshal Tianpeng. Regardless of his strength, his status and position at least allowed him to understand how deep the waters of the Three Realms really were. Sha Wujing even served as the Curtain-Raising General of the Jade Emperor. Even the White Dragon Horse was the son of the Dragon King of the West Sea.

Although, after the initial calamity of the Dragon Han Dynasty, the status and position of the Dragon Clan declined steadily.

But a skinny camel is bigger than a horse.

As the third prince of the West Sea Dragon King, he naturally knew more about the secrets of the Three Realms than Sun Wukong.

It's important to know that the Dragon Clan was once powerful, having competed with the Phoenix and Qilin clans for the position of the protagonist of heaven and earth during the Dragon-Han Calamity. Of course, they know just how terrifying the great calamity of fighting for the position of the protagonist of heaven and earth truly is.

Whether they were drawn into this great calamity voluntarily or involuntarily, apart from Sun Wukong and Tang Sanzang who were relatively proactive, the other three members of the westward journey were almost all there to make up the numbers.

Pigsy's words were a reminder that both Sandy and the White Dragon Horse deeply appreciated.

When this reached Sun Wukong's ears, he naturally received a good scolding.

Since the westward journey team joined this great calamity, Sun Wukong has participated in many battles between the two sides.

Compared to the many troubles encountered on his journey to the West, during this great calamity, Sun Wukong increasingly realized how ridiculous his past havoc in the Heavenly Palace had been.

Putting aside everything else, the fact that Li Jing, the Pagoda-Bearing Heavenly King of Heaven, was incarnate as the Duke of Wei in the human world truly overturned Sun Wukong's consistent understanding of the Pagoda-Bearing Heavenly King.

With the combined efforts of celestial soldiers and earthly troops, once Li Jing's army formed a battle formation, even a Taiyi Golden Immortal would find it extremely difficult to escape once trapped within it.

The Duke of Wei, Li Jing's mortal incarnation, is completely different from the Heavenly King Li Jing, who holds the Pagoda in the Heavenly Court.

Sun Wukong wasn't stupid; he knew perfectly well that the Heavenly King Li Jing, the Pagoda-Bearing Heavenly King, was no match for the Duke of Wei in the mortal realm.

The only explanation is that his so-called "storming the Heavenly Palace" back then, which he was so smug about, now seems so ridiculous.

Countless people in the Three Realms have completely made fools of themselves like monkeys.

It must be admitted that after Sun Wukong became a Buddha, his character and temperament did indeed grow remarkably.

While playing and joking with Pigsy.

A brilliant seven-colored Buddha light suddenly shone from the west, heading straight for the east.

Sun Wukong and the others recognized the familiar Buddhist light almost instantly.

"Like the true Buddha?"

Just as Sun Wukong finished speaking, in the military camp...

A burst of noise and commotion followed.

As Buddhist disciples, Sun Wukong and the others dared not be negligent. They quickly joined forces with the soldiers in the camp to set up an incense table to welcome the arrival of the Dharma Emperor of Luofu.

Luo Fu's arrival this time caused quite a stir.

The seven-colored Buddha light illuminated the entire sky.

Even the murderous aura and demonic energy emanating from the demon kingdom were suppressed to their limits under this dazzling Buddhist light.

Luo Fu, having mobilized its entire force, was clearly there to deal with the demon kingdom.

Strangely, these demons, who had been locked in a stalemate with the human race for an unknown period of time, made no move whatsoever. They simply watched as Luo Fu, along with the entire lineage of Ruzhen, the Holy Mother of Wudang, the True Man of Taiyi, the Buddha of Dingguang, Lü Dongbin, Yang Jian, and others, flew over their heads and landed in the direction of the human camp.

On the human side, the process of setting up the incense table to welcome Luofu was as if they had gone through countless rehearsals, so familiar that it was unbelievable, and so smooth that everything was as natural as water flowing into a channel.

In a short time, led by Duke Li Jing of Wei, all the human cultivators, including the gods and deities from the Heavenly Court, gathered before the incense table.

We pay homage to the arrival of Luofu, the patriarch of the Middle Vehicle of Buddhism.

The formation adopted by the human race clearly indicated that they regarded Luofu as the one that would decide the fate of this great calamity between humans and demons.

Whether Luo Fu likes it or not, this great calamity between humans and demons began with his appearance and will inevitably end with his arrival.

However, each of the six saints had their own demands and plans during this process.

The most obvious schemer among them was undoubtedly the Jie Sect.

Amidst the seven-colored Buddha light that illuminated most of the sky.

The Luofu lineage, of the Middle Vehicle, descended gracefully amidst the worship of numerous human beings before their incense altars, accompanied by three thousand Pratyekabuddhas, seven Bodhisattvas of the Seven Emotions, three great Arhats, and a host of immortals and deities. Upon seeing Luofu's arrival, the crowd immediately bowed and paid homage, chanting "Namo Ruzhen Miaofa Fo" (Namo True and Wondrous Dharma Buddha).

The massive commotion made this battlefield a focal point of attention across the three realms.

From this moment on, Luofu in the Journey to the West world truly shed his status as a pawn and began to transform into a player.

A crossover of the Strange Tales from a Chinese Studio world.

The moment I returned from the shared space.

Yuanzhen, who was sleeping on the communal bed, suddenly sat up with a start.

"Namo Amitabha Buddha, this...this is actually real?"

Luo Fu, a monk with the Dharma name Yuanzhen, had just returned from the shared space and had not yet had time to transform all the resources he had acquired into his own tangible strength.

But the transformation of his very being made him truly feel that he was completely different from before.

Before this, Yuanzhen was just an ordinary novice monk in the temple. He was good at swindling money from believers, but his other Buddhist studies were a complete mess.

He knew nothing of Buddhism, and even his understanding of common martial arts like the Arhat Fist, which were for physical training, was utterly inadequate; calling it fancy footwork would be an understatement.

It's fair to say that after spending so much time in the temple, all he's accomplished is memorize a few scriptures.

But at this moment, even though he had just returned from the shared space, he felt a transformation within himself, as if he had been reborn.

With a clear mind, every moment felt as if all thoughts were under the control of the primordial spirit. All the changes in acquired consciousness were like a restrained monkey and a wild horse. The changes in his spiritual realm also made Luo Fu aware of the changes in his physical body as if they had penetrated into every cell.

The sudden transformation allowed Luo Fu to truly experience what it was like to wield extraordinary power.

At this moment, Luo Fu couldn't help but speak up, proclaiming loudly: "I have a bright pearl, long locked away by worldly troubles. Today, the dust is gone and its light shines forth, illuminating countless mountains and rivers."

Although Luo Fu's voice was not loud, strangely enough, it spread over a radius of dozens of miles in an instant.

What's even stranger is that, despite being on the same large communal bed as Luofu, these sleeping monks seemed completely oblivious to his voice, and not one of them woke up.

Inside the abbot's meditation room at the temple.

The moment Luo Fu unconsciously opened his mouth in a loud voice.

The Zen Master Baiyun, who was sitting cross-legged, suddenly opened his eyes. A sharp glint flashed in his eyes as he stared intently in the direction of Luofu.

He rose gracefully and hurried towards the direction of Luofu.

In just a few breaths, Zen Master Baiyun traversed nearly half the distance of the temple and arrived outside the meditation room on the large communal bed.

Although this temple is small and not a famous ancient temple, it is small but complete. As the abbot, Zen Master Baiyun would not live with ordinary novice monks.

Even the places where the two sides rested were separated by almost half a temple.

The communal meditation rooms where the young novices lived were almost right next to the main gate of the temple, while the abbot's meditation room was in the backyard of the temple.

In just a few breaths, without disturbing anyone, he appeared outside the meditation room of the large communal room, which was enough to make people feel that Master Baiyun's position as abbot of this temple was by no means undeserved.

Standing outside the large meditation room, Zen Master Baiyun did not push the door open. Instead, he put his hands together, nodded slightly in the direction of the meditation room door, and said, "This humble monk is Baiyun. Congratulations to you, fellow Daoist, on your liberation from ignorance and return to nature. I humbly request to meet you."

Luo Fu's heart tightened immediately.

He secretly regretted that he had become a little too complacent.

This is understandable, though. The moment they returned from the shared space, the transcendence resulting from the superposition of life essences was like an evolution from a paramecium into a human being. It wasn't just that their life system became more complex, but rather a kind of transcendence.

This transcendence was changing Luo Fu every moment, making him increasingly detached from the human realm and transforming him towards the sacred.

It was a true rebirth, like the ancient counting rods suddenly evolving into an intelligent supercomputer.

Although it shares the foundational abilities of fifteen different Luofu realms, in terms of temperament, Luofu is ultimately not capable of achieving instant enlightenment.

However, this momentary excitement only revealed his unusual nature.

Now that Zen Master Baiyun has come knocking, Luofu has no choice but to disappear.

Luo Fu wasn't some kind of person who had awakened to the truth of severing emotions. Even if he had awakened his past life memories and gained a foundation destined to transcend the mundane from the shared space, he still grew up in this temple in this world.

Moreover, in this life, he was nothing more than an abandoned child. If the temple hadn't taken him in, he might not have even lived to see the day he awakened his past memories.

Luo Fu also truly respected Zen Master Baiyun.

Although there are many monks in the temples, in fact, there are not many monks who have actually received full ordination.

Ultimately, it's because the world is too chaotic.

Countless young children are orphaned and destitute.

Luofu is just one example. These children adopted by the temple only stay in the temple as novice monks and cannot be considered as real ordained monks.

The vast majority of them leave the monastery after reaching adulthood to make a living on their own, and very few are able to be ordained as true monks.

For Luofu, Zen Master Baiyun was the one who saved his life.

Even though Luofu was not particularly outstanding in the temple, Zen Master Baiyun might not have had much of an impression of him.

But he has only survived to this day because of this temple.

At that moment, Zen Master Baiyun blocked the door.

Luo Fu was only annoyed for a moment before making a decision.

After getting up and leaving the communal sleeping area, Luo Fu put on his gray monk's robe, tidied his appearance, and then opened the door to his meditation room.

"Disciple Yuanzhen greets Abbot Master Uncle."

Upon seeing Luofu, Zen Master Baiyun frowned and said, "Yuanzhen? I didn't expect you to have such a background?"

With a change in expression, Zen Master Baiyun asked, "May I ask how you are addressed, friend?"

They had just revealed Luo Fu's Buddhist name, but in the blink of an eye, someone was asking about Luo Fu's title.

This is not because Zen Master Baiyun is confused. Children like Luofu who are adopted by temples will receive a temporary Dharma name.

This so-called Dharma name is just a convenient way of addressing someone, and does not mean that they have actually been ordained as a monk.

Even the so-called masters in Luofu are actually just like the children in an orphanage call their director "Dad" and "Mom." The title of "Master" is only given because of the special nature of Buddhist temples.

He is a master, not a teacher.

A novice monk like Luofu is not qualified to address a formally ordained monk as his master.
