Warhammer in a box

Chapter 1 Can this little guy move?

Chapter 1 Can this little guy move?
"Finally I cleared the level. The map of the Mortal Empire is too big."

It was already late at night. After three sleepless days and nights, Zhang Heng finally used the Human Empire faction to occupy all the forces in the game Warhammer Total War. When the victory message of the battle appeared on the computer screen, he breathed a sigh of relief.

"It would be great if the story of this game didn't have an end and the world wasn't destroyed at the end. I, the Mage Lord, would bring along a bald affairs officer with a musket and fireworks to give you everything, no matter if you're the Eternal Chosen or some other idiot."

Imagine this beautiful scene in his mind, Zhang Heng, who hadn't slept for several nights, fell into a deep sleep while lying on the bed.

In the dim light, Zhang Heng seemed to hear a knock on the door.

"Who is it? Knocking on the door so late at night! Are you sick?" Zhang Heng forced himself to open his eyes and check his phone. It was only 3 a.m.! He had only slept for three hours!
Hearing the continuous knocking on the door, Zhang Heng suppressed his anger and prepared to have a good conversation with the person knocking on the door.

Zhang Heng looked furious, but the moment he arrived at the door, the knocking stopped.

"Not knocking anymore?! There's no point in not knocking! Get ready to be scolded!"

But when Zhang Heng angrily opened the door, he found that there was no one at the door, only a huge box was placed at the door.

"Where's the person?! Courier? Who would deliver a package in the middle of the night? I don't even remember what I bought."

Zhang Heng stuck his head out of the door and looked around, but found that the corridor was empty and there was no movement at all.

"Hello! Is anyone there? Did you deliver the package to the wrong place?" Zhang Heng tried shouting a few times but no one answered.

Zhang Heng, who was confused, had no choice but to pick up the huge box and walk into the house.

He placed the box on the table, looked left and right but did not find any markings on the box. Zhang Heng picked up the light box and tried to shake it but there was no sound. The weight was as if the box was just an empty box.

In the end, Zhang Heng's curiosity got the better of him, and he easily opened the lock on the box, which was not locked at all. However, when he saw the scene inside the box, he couldn't help rubbing his eyes.

Inside the box was actually a real-life model. Mountains, rivers, forests, grasslands, and all kinds of extremely realistic terrain were condensed in this small box.

"My God, this model is so exquisite, isn't it?" Zhang Heng even saw the river flowing in it, which made him stunned as he thought it was an empty box.

Looking at everything in the box, Zhang Heng couldn't help but lower his head to observe carefully. He actually found a city in the plain. There seemed to be countless miniature people moving in the city.

Just as Zhang Heng was attracted by all this and focused all his attention on this nearly real city model, he seemed to hear a sound in his ears.

"Hey, the orcs from Stangat have escaped again. I heard that all the people in a village were killed, and even the corpses were dragged back to be used as food for those monsters. I really don't know when the imperial army will be able to kill all these damn orcs!"

"Who says it's not true? I also heard that the Norse barbarians from the north looted a town by the sea. Others said that the armor on these guys actually grew out of flesh and blood! It's really scary! I just hope the war won't come to us."

Hearing the voice coming from his ear, Zhang Heng, who was originally confused, suddenly woke up.

"Hmm? Did I hear someone talking?" But when Zhang Heng's attention was distracted, the voice in his ear disappeared again. "It's over, it's over. It must be because I didn't get enough sleep and played too many games. I started to have hallucinations! Even the hallucinations were of Norsca and beastmen. If I don't sleep, I'm afraid I'll die suddenly!"

Zhang Heng simply ignored the box on the table and went straight back to the room and fell on the bed. He fell into a deep sleep almost the moment his head hit the pillow. He decided to check the surveillance footage tomorrow to see who had placed the box at his door. After all, such a realistic model was probably worth a lot of money and he didn't want to get into any trouble afterwards.

Not knowing how long he slept, Zhang Heng climbed out of the bed with difficulty. He found that he had slept for more than ten hours. When he opened the curtains, it was already noon and the sun was shining brightly outside.

Grabbing his messy hair, Zhang Heng walked out of the bedroom, and the first thing he saw was the box he had placed on the dining table last night.

Zhang Heng walked to the box again. Everything inside the box looked more realistic and exquisite than when he was dazed last night.

Curiosity made Zhang Heng unable to help but come to the box again and observe it. Based on his memory of last night, Zhang Heng searched for the town model and soon found it in the small box.

"Which company made this model? It's too realistic. How did they make the miniature people move around inside? When did they have such high technology?"

The town discovered last night is still there. When Zhang Heng observed it in a sober state, he found that the town in the model was so similar to the buildings in Warhammer: Medieval Times, with the same Western medieval style. Even if you look closely, you can see that even the miniature people are wearing the armor of the Imperial Spearmen. There is also a small team of Imperial knights on war horses and holding lances in the city.

On top of the city wall, some human soldiers, who were obviously archers and crossbowmen, were lined up neatly.

On the other hand, the civilian-like people in the city were fleeing in panic.

"You told me this is a model, it must be real, right? Are the things in this box alive?" After just a brief observation, Zhang Heng concluded that no one in the world could make a model so realistic. Each person seemed to have a specific appearance, and most importantly, their movements and expressions could not be achieved by a model.

As if he had discovered something incredible, Zhang Heng fell to the ground in shock.

"A living Warhammer world?!"

After slowing down a bit, Zhang Heng climbed up again. This time, when he came to the edge of the box, he seemed to hear some sounds again.

A little man in armor holding a sword and a shield was standing on the city wall and talking loudly. The outfit was so familiar. Wasn't he the Captain of the Empire, the affairs officer in Warhammer Empire?
"People of the Empire, warriors of the Empire, those filthy orcs have come out of their garbage heaps again to kill us and plunder us, but today they will be disappointed, because I have you standing with me!
Soldiers, for the Empire, for Sigmar! Prepare for battle, draw your bows and crossbows! Draw your swords, raise your spears! "

Under the pre-war mobilization of the imperial captain, all the soldiers were ready.

In the forest in front of the town, a large group of dark green people were running quickly towards the city wall, shouting "Waaaagh~"

"Waaaagh? This smells so right, isn't this a green-skinned orc?!"

Zhang Heng never thought that in his lifetime, he would see the battle between humans and orcs unfold in this way before him.
