Chapter 3: The Crushed Goblin Warrior

Chapter 3: The Crushed Goblin Warrior
Ludwig, who had just fought on the city wall for a long time, had consumed a lot of physical strength, but he still ran towards the south with all his strength, and the two teams of imperial swordsmen beside him were desperately following his footsteps.

But when they arrived at the south city wall, they were still a step too late.

The Night Goblin Warlord and his despicable lurkers have already climbed onto the city walls, and the Imperial swordsmen on the walls are no match for him.

As an orc general, he was not like the ordinary orcs who only had some rags and simple armor on his body, and his weapon was not rusty scrap iron. Instead, his whole body was covered with a set of armor that at least looked sophisticated, and the giant blade in his hand was polished to a shine.

Laguk Breaker, a night goblin warrior from the Orc Darkpox clan entrenched in the once human city of Stangart, was the one who planned this siege.

When Laguk saw the arrival of the Empire's reinforcements, he was not panicked at all. Instead, he grabbed the neck of a seriously injured Empire swordsman and lifted him up high in a provocative manner.

"You fragile shrimp! Your fate today will be the same as his. The one who killed you is me, Laguk the Neckbreaker!" After saying that, he directly broke the swordsman's neck, and then threw the body from the city wall in front of Ludwig.

Looking at the soldiers dying tragically in front of him, Ludwig was furious.

"Dirty orcs! I won't allow you to defile the warriors of the empire! Soldiers! Follow me! Kill it! Victory belongs to mankind!"

Ludwig rushed towards Laguck fearlessly, and Laguck jumped down from the city wall. The huge sword in his hand was shining coldly, and fresh blood could be seen on it, which was left by the soldiers on the city wall.

And from behind the houses on both sides of the city wall, the despicable lurkers hiding also rushed out.

The human soldiers and the orcs collided with each other like two walls of flesh and blood, and both sides suffered heavy casualties in the first instant.

Laguk found Ludwig, and the two men faced each other with swords. The orcs' innate powerful strength allowed Laguk to gain the upper hand in the battle. The giant blade kept slashing at Ludwig's shield, leaving huge sword marks on it one after another.

Ludwig felt that his arms were beginning to go numb. Although he used his shield to block the orc's attack, the strong recoil force made it difficult for him to hold on to the shield.

"You humans are so weak that you can't even withstand such an attack! Die!" Laguk chopped with all his strength again.

"Ding~" The shield in Ludwig's hand flew out.

Just when Laguk was about to get rid of Ludwig, several crossbow arrows pierced his armor directly, causing him to pause.

It turned out that the frontal battle was almost over, and a team of imperial crossbowmen happened to arrive here, and their attack happened to save Ludwig's life.

"There's no way I can beat him!" After a brief fight, Ludwig had already discovered that he was no match for the goblin warrior. All he could do now was to delay until all the troops came back to reinforce him and overwhelm the powerful orc in front of him with numbers.

But things often don't develop as expected. Green light began to appear on the orcs' bodies. As the green light rose, the injured orcs began to heal rapidly, and their attacks became more fierce.

"Waaaagh~"

That is the waaagh stance unique to the orc race. When the killing or death of the orcs reaches a certain level, or when a large number of orcs think about something together, the god they believe in, Gogmaog, will grant them a special power.

Recover their injuries, enhance their strength, and even make the impossible possible.

As the Waaagh energy enveloped all the orcs, the morale of the human forces began to collapse.

When the first soldier started to flee, one soldier after another began to flee. The enemy who was originally seriously injured suddenly recovered? What's the point of fighting?

Ludwig, watching this scene, murmured, "It's over!" No matter how he shouted to the retreating soldiers, the fleeing soldiers ignored him.

He turned to look at Laguk who was approaching step by step, but he did not choose to run away like those soldiers. He picked up the sword and raised the shield again. He decided to defend the dignity of the empire even if he died.

"Come on! Dirty orc! Face me!!"

Ludwig actually took the lead in charging towards Laguck, but Laguck had a playful look on his face, as if he was looking at a struggling fart spirit. At this moment, Ludwig was nothing in his eyes. He was just a human being with a little combat power. Killing him would only take a little more effort.

"Human! Let me break your neck!"

"Bang!" Before Laguk could finish his words, a loud noise came from around him, and a cloud of smoke and dust rose up, blocking everyone's vision.

"Cough cough cough, what happened? Is it the Empire's artillery?!" With such a loud noise, Ludwig felt that it could only be caused by the Empire's or the Dwarves' artillery. Could it be that the Empire's reinforcements had arrived?

But when the smoke cleared, Ludwig was stunned.

Everything before his eyes seemed like a dream. Large sections of the city walls and houses were completely turned into rubble. When he approached, he found that the orc general was only a pool of meat paste, as if he had been crushed to death by a terrifying thing that fell from the sky. Along with the orc general, his despicable lurkers also disappeared.

These scattered orcs were better off, as some of them were also crushed into meat paste, but the rest were completely frightened. Looking at the tragic death of their boss, these remaining orcs even forgot to escape.

"Miracle. It's really a miracle. Great Sigma, thank you for saving us." Ludwig murmured. He believed that only God could do this, otherwise it could not be explained.

In the world of Warhammer, gods really exist and even perform miracles from time to time.

"What Sigma? Your ancestors died a long time ago. I saved you!" Looking at Ludwig who was praying, Zhang Heng couldn't help but complain.

Although he knew that Sigma was just trapped now and would come out at the end of the world.

It turned out that he just couldn't bear to see the human camp being defeated, so he curiously tried to touch the world in the box with his fingers, and it actually worked!

Those little orcs had no power to resist under his fingers and were crushed in an instant. It was a dimensionality reduction attack! This made Zhang Heng very excited.

"A mini world? A world that I can intervene in! It's so terrifying! Wouldn't that make me the creator?"

"Who is it! Who is speaking! Are you a god?!"

Unexpectedly, Zhang Heng’s mumbling was heard by Ludwig.

Everything that happened during the entire battle forced Ludwig to believe that a powerful god was intervening in this battle. He knelt down devoutly and said.

"Great God, no matter who you are, thank you for saving me and the soldiers and civilians of this entire city! We sing praises to your kindness and greatness, please bless us!!" Ludwig prayed devoutly with his eyes closed.

There were many religions coexisting in the empire, so Ludwig prayed to Zhang Heng, who had just saved the entire city, without any pressure.

Zhang Heng was also very excited when he heard Ludwig's prayer, and he felt a sense of being believed in.
