Captain Jack of Azeroth

Chapter 42: There are ghosts on the island

Chapter 42: There are ghosts on the island
The next morning, Jack arranged work for the sailors. The first thing to do was to scout the situation on land, which was the first thing to do when arriving in an unknown area.

Find out where you are so that you can plan your next trip. Find out what creatures live here. If they are humans or unknown creatures, stay away from them as much as possible; if they are goblins, you can try to contact them.

As long as the goblins are not from Booty Bay, you can buy the supplies you want from them, but the price will be much higher and the quality is not guaranteed.

After sending the sailors out, Jack also climbed up the hill next to him, raised the monocular telescope and looked towards the land.

The inland grasslands are lush and the forests are flourishing, which is a rare treasure land. However, it seems that no one occupies this place. Wild beasts roam around, such as running unicorns and flying horned hippogryphs, creating an exotic scenery.

At the corner of the forest, there seemed to be a dilapidated building. Judging from the style, it seemed to be an elf building.

"Jack, it looks like we've arrived in Azshara!"

Nedro climbed up the hill and said excitedly.

Jack frowned and looked at Nedlo in confusion. He remembered that Azshara did not have such green mountains and clear waters.

Nedlo pointed to the other side of the bay, "Jack, look, the elf ruins."

Jack turned around in astonishment and found an elven building in the direction that Nadro pointed. However, the elven building did not look like a ruin, but rather a building that was still in use.

"Let's go over and take a look. Maybe there are some elven treasures there."

Jack thought about it and agreed to Nadro's proposal. He came down from the hill, called on Chong Quan, and the three of them rowed the lifeboat to the other side.

"Don't rush over there, pay attention to your surroundings."

When Chong Quan heard this, his expression became serious. He looked at the building carefully and said softly, "There are traces of life here, so someone must be living here."

Ned Luo was stunned. "How could there be people living in the elf ruins? Did someone else discover this place first?"

Chongquan moved closer and observed the building carefully. After a while, he returned and said, "It is indeed inhabited. I found traces of magic inside."

"Oh my God! Could there be elves living here?" Nadro asked nervously.

Jack shook his head. "I don't know, but try not to provoke him. People who can do magic are very scary."

Nadro said unwillingly: "But the elf treasure is right in front of us!"

Jack turned around, picked him up, and walked towards the lifeboat. "Money is important, but you also need to have a life to spend it."

After throwing Nedro onto the lifeboat, Jack called Chongquan on board and returned to the temporary camp. After landing, Jack said to the sailors who stayed behind: "Listen to me, no one can go to the other side of the bay without my permission. Otherwise, if you die, don't blame me for not reminding you."

The sailors had different looks on their faces, not knowing why Jack said that.

But they soon found out the reason. Nedlo was still thinking about the elf treasure and soon revealed the situation on the other side. When the pirates heard Nedlo's words, they were greedy, but they didn't dare to disobey Jack's order openly, so they thought about sneaking over after dark.

However, before they could make their plans, a group of sailors came running back in a hurry.

"There's a ghost! There's a ghost——"

Everyone looked over in astonishment. What was going on? A ghost? Where was the ghost?
Jack immediately rushed forward, stopped the sailors, grabbed the one who was shouting the loudest, and threw him to the ground, "Shut up, everyone!"

The sailors quieted down, and after a while their moods calmed down, they stuttered and told their stories.

"We went in search of fresh water and found a very shallow lake after going around the forest. In the middle of the lake, there is an island. On the island, there are a lot of dilapidated elven buildings. We thought...we thought there might be elven treasures on them, so we went up. But it turned out that there were elves all over them - no, elven undead..." "Yes, yes, those elven undeads are very strange. They seem to be unaware that they are dead and are still doing their own things. Children are playing, teachers are teaching, and craftsmen are making tools..."

"The weirdest thing is that there are a few guards. Other elves and undead can't see us, but they can spot us and walk towards us."

"We were terrified..."

The sailors looked at each other and felt that these people were talking nonsense.

Jack touched his chin. The scene described by the sailors seemed a little familiar!

Undead elves, an island in the lake, unicorns, hippogryphs, and if there are a few demons, then we can all face them.

Chong Quan said in a deep voice: "It is rare for elves to die. According to legend, after an elf dies, it will turn into a little elf and return to the giant tree."

Nedro asked, "Isn't this just a legend?"

"Legends may have some falsehoods, but there is usually some truth in them." Jack said in a deep voice, "You guys take a break for a while, I'll go over and take a look."

Chong Quan followed, "I'll go with you."

Rude also chased after him, "And me."

Nedro wanted to follow, but he didn't have the courage. He said awkwardly, "I'll stay in the camp and look after them."

The other sailors were brave, but they were afraid of the spirits of the dead.

The three followed the sailors' instructions, bypassed the forest, and saw the hidden lake. There were indeed many undead in the lake, and even more undead on the islands in the lake.

Jack stepped into the lake, the water barely covered his ankles, the ground under the water was very hard, and there were many small grasses growing out of the water. They didn't look like water grass, as if the water had just flooded here.

"The scent of magic!" Chong Quan sniffed, "I smell the scent of a curse."

Rude sniffed and looked at the heavy punch in confusion, "There's no smell!"

Jack glanced at Rude and sneered. How could a human soldier like you understand magic? Although Chong Quan is a warrior, he has been exposed to shamanic spells since he was a child, and his understanding of spells is second only to that of spellcasters.

Stepping into the water, approaching the spirits, it turned out that just as the sailors said, the spirits seemed to be unable to see them. Even when Jack put his hand in front of their eyes, they did not react at all.

Rude was curious and moved closer, but accidentally fell and landed headfirst on the undead elf.

He passed directly through the body of the elf undead. The elf undead seemed to sense something and looked back at Drew. There was a magical glow in his eyes and he raised his hand to cast a spell.

Jack quickly pulled Rude back and took him away from the elf undead.

After a while, the elf undead became quiet.

Rude swallowed his saliva. He was really scared just now.

Chongquan frowned, he was a little confused about what was going on with these elven undead spirits.

Jack waved his hand, "Let's look somewhere else."
