Tomb Raider: Evolution of the Red Dragon, Starting from the Ancient City of Jingjue
Chapter 673 An Ancient City
"What's going on? What happened? Why did the blood disappear on its own?" Jiang Hua was shocked; he never expected this.
This outcome, this bizarre scene, left Jiang Hua completely baffled as to what had just happened.
"Brother Jiang, I don't know either. This is the first time I've ever seen something like this. But it seems to be because of the bead in your hand." Qin Feng also looked shocked and shook his head as he spoke.
He didn't know why the bead was like this. He had only heard the legends about the bead, but he had never witnessed such a thing. Seeing it now, Qin Feng was immediately shocked.
"Brother Qin Feng, what should we do now? Should we keep going forward? But it's a dead end. What should we do? Is this road impassable?" Jiang Hua frowned and then asked.
There was no way out, and they had no idea where to go next.
"I don't know, and I don't know what to do either. However, since this bead came from those ancient tombs, it must have a way to the outside world."
"We just need to find that path, Brother Jiang. Now all we need to do is keep moving forward," Qin Feng said after a moment's thought.
“Alright. I’ll listen to Brother Qin Feng.” Jiang Hua nodded and then said that he also knew that this place was too strange. They had nowhere to go and could only keep moving forward. This couldn’t go on.
"Okay. I understand." Jiang Hua nodded. He was used to this kind of situation along the way, so he wasn't surprised. However, Qin Feng's reminder made him take it very seriously.
Without further ado, the two of them headed straight for that place. Everything went smoothly along the way, and no unexpected incidents occurred.
However, this place was too strange. This environment made Jiang Hua very worried because he had no idea what might happen.
Ordinary dangers might be ordinary monsters, but this place is somewhat eerie. Jiang Hua doesn't know what other dangers are hidden here, and the peril here makes him very wary.
This slowed their pace considerably, as the place was far too eerie, and no one could be sure what lay ahead. Therefore, Jiang Hua and Qin Feng were extremely cautious.
"Brother Jiang, this way." After walking for an unknown amount of time, Qin Feng suddenly called out, making Jiang Hua stop.
Stopping to look, they saw a stone gate not far away. The stone gate was about three meters high and seven or eight feet wide, and it looked rather frightening.
However, there were some strange patterns on the stone gate. These patterns looked somewhat mysterious, but Jiang Hua didn't understand them. He could only tell that the patterns on the stone gate were definitely a very powerful barrier.
Looking at the stone door, Jiang Hua was slightly stunned, then breathed a sigh of relief, because there were no formations or killing intent on the stone door, which reassured him a lot.
"There are no formations or killing intent on this stone door. It should be an ordinary stone door. I just don't know where this door leads."
Qin Feng also saw the stone gate and immediately breathed a slight sigh of relief. If it were a huge palace, he would have been quite worried.
After all, this place was so shocking to him; he had never seen anything like it before.
"Brother Qin Feng, let's go take a look, but we should be careful first. I have a feeling that this stone door is not as simple as it looks. There must be something strange inside."
Jiang Hua looked at the stone gate, took a deep breath, and said.
"Yes, Brother Jiang, I have the same feeling. Let's go and see what's inside." Qin Feng nodded and said.
As he spoke, Qin Feng stretched out his palm and gently tapped the stone door a few times. Instantly, the strange patterns on the stone door lit up, and the stone door slowly opened.
"Brother Jiang, let's go in." Qin Feng said as the door slowly opened, and then he went in first, with Jiang Hua following behind. After entering the stone door, Jiang Hua saw that it was a stone chamber, similar to the tomb he had seen outside.
However, compared to the tomb, this stone chamber was much larger, and there were several stone steps leading down.
After climbing the stone steps, Jiang Hua discovered that the floor of the stone chamber was covered with white bones, and many human bones were scattered on the ground. In the center of the stone chamber stood a stone statue.
The stone statue was about three meters tall and had a very ferocious and terrifying appearance, looking like a fierce beast. Jiang Hua felt an extremely strong resentment emanating from the statue.
However, the resentment was blocked by the statue's body, otherwise it would have already overflowed: "It's really scary."
"Don't be afraid, just follow my steps," Jiang Hua said. "Watch what I do." With that, Jiang Hua gently drew a talisman on his body with his right hand.
"Why are you drawing this?" Qin Feng asked.
Jiang Hua did not answer, but continued drawing instead.
"Wow, that's amazing." Qin Feng's eyes widened.
After drawing the talisman, Jiang Hua made a light cut on his palm, and blood immediately flowed out.
Bright red blood dripped onto the stone statue's body. Instantly, the statue became even more ferocious and terrifying, its enormous eyes staring at Jiang Hua.
Jiang Hua sprinkled the blood on the stone statue, and the blood immediately turned into a blood mist that merged into the statue's body.
As the blood mist merged into the stone statue, the blood-red color in the statue's eyes gradually faded.
"What, what's going on?" Qin Feng exclaimed in surprise, his mouth agape.
“I don’t know either.” Jiang Hua shook his head. “It’s really strange that there is resentment in the eyes of this stone statue.”
"So weird?" Qin Feng's eyes widened.
"Don't underestimate it. Maybe something is trapped inside, which is why it's been simmering here with resentment," Jiang Hua guessed.
"So what exactly is this place? What is being kept inside?" Qin Feng asked curiously.
“This is an ancient city,” Jiang Hua explained. “The buildings here should be traditional, and the patterns on them are very similar to what I have seen in ancient Chinese books.”
"Really?" Qin Feng nodded. "So what do we do next?"
"Next, we need to find the core of this tomb, then go inside and look for any valuable clues, to see if we can find any," Jiang Hua said.
“I always felt that there must be some secret hidden in this ancient city, and we must uncover this secret.”
"Alright." Qin Feng nodded, and then the two began searching around. (End of Chapter)
