Tomb Raider: Evolution of the Red Dragon, Starting from the Ancient City of Jingjue
Chapter 674 The Tomb
Jiang Hua and Qin Feng searched this space, but unfortunately, after searching for a long time, they couldn't find even a single tombstone.
"Where exactly is this place?" Qin Feng asked, puzzled.
"Never mind, let's keep searching," Jiang Hua said, shaking his head. "Let's find this core first."
After saying that, the two of them wandered around the entire ancient city again.
"Are you ever going to stop?" a voice suddenly came from over there.
The space was enormous. Besides this ancient city, they also saw several other ancient cities, but none of them had any buildings; they were all tombs.
Inside are the remains of the dead, treasures from the tombs, and many tombstones that record the life and deeds of the deceased.
However, after observing for a while, Jiang Hua and his group gave up on the plan.
Because this space is too eerie, there is absolutely no way there could be anything of value inside.
Jiang Hua glanced at her watch; it was already eight o'clock in the evening.
This trip into the ancient tomb has already taken three whole days.
She even separated from Lin Yun and Chen Le, and the situation was very bad.
Jiang Hua and his companions did not reveal their purpose for entering the ancient tomb, because Jiang Hua dared not disclose his plan until he was certain of his safety.
If they were to actually encounter danger, wouldn't Lin Yun and the others be frantic with worry?
Therefore, Jiang Hua decided to enter the ancient tomb first to look for clues.
He only told Lin Yun and the others after confirming his own safety.
"You stay here for a bit, I'm going out for a bit." After saying that, Jiang Hua walked out of the stone chamber and headed towards the outer stone door.
Seeing that Jiang Hua had left the stone chamber, Qin Feng quickly stood up and went out as well.
After Jiang Hua reached the exit of the stone chamber, he turned around and glanced at the stone chamber behind him before walking out.
This was a long passageway, and Jiang Hua walked along it, continuing deeper into the passageway.
Jiang Hua encountered no obstacles along the way, and only stopped at the end of the tunnel.
"Phew." Jiang Hua steadied himself and exhaled a breath of stale air.
Jiang Hua turned around and looked behind him. Behind him was a stone wall. Jiang Hua carefully examined the wall and found nothing special about it.
The locals finally breathed a sigh of relief.
"Luckily there are no traps or hidden weapons here, otherwise it would be troublesome," Jiang Hua thought to himself.
However, the scale of this tomb is really too large. Just looking out from this passage, you can't see the end. If this place really is an ancient city.
The scale of this tomb far exceeded Jiang Hua's imagination.
Jiang Hua looked around. This was a tomb chamber, its size and depth unknown. The space was vast, and Jiang Hua didn't know how to get out.
"It seems that we'll need some tricks to get out of this place." After thinking for a moment, Jiang Hua looked ahead.
Jiang Hua stopped in front of a wall.
The wall is carved with many strange patterns, including mountains, rivers, trees, birds and beasts, and countless human figures, making it look like a huge altar.
Jiang Hua walked up to the wall, squatted down, and carefully examined the patterns on the wall. He felt that the patterns were very familiar, as if he had seen them somewhere before.
A sudden inspiration struck Jiang Hua. He reached out and touched the patterns carved on the wall, then dipped his finger in the black liquid and began to smear it on the wall.
A short while later, Jiang Hua had painted the pattern into a scroll. Jiang Hua picked up the scroll and examined it carefully for a while.
A joyful smile immediately appeared on his face; he finally remembered what the patterns were.
This is a picture of an ancient tomb!
Moreover, it is a pattern of an ancient tomb, a pattern of an underground palace.
Jiang Hua had seen this underground palace in an antique magazine before. It was a tomb picture that appeared in "The Late Ming and Early Qing Dynasties". The shape of a palace in that tomb was exactly the same as what Jiang Hua saw now.
"It seems this is the place," Jiang Hua thought excitedly. "I wonder what it's like inside."
Jiang Hua put away the ancient tomb map and some other patterns, and also took away a lot of treasures, none of which were of much use to him.
Jiang Hua stayed in the space, planning to study it slowly when he got back to see what was going on. The scale of this ancient tomb was too high; even with Jiang Hua's knowledge, he couldn't understand it, let alone Chen Le and the others.
Jiang Hua carefully put the map away and then walked forward.
After walking for a short while, Jiang Hua saw a heavy stone gate in front of him; it was a large gate.
"Could this be the door leading to the interior of the tomb?" Jiang Hua wondered. "But how can this door be opened?"
Jiang Hua thought for a moment, then stepped forward and gently pushed the stone door, which slowly opened.
As soon as the stone door opened, a gust of cool wind blew in, making Jiang Hua feel a chill.
"This is an ice path, which should lead to the depths of this tomb," Jiang Hua thought to himself.
Once inside, Jiang Hua could finally see the tomb passage clearly.
The tomb passage is not long, only about two zhang wide. Both sides are made of white stone walls, which are carved with many murals. Some of these murals are poems and songs written by ancient literati, and some are photos of beautiful women from ancient times.
"Could this tomb passage be the burial site of an ancient woman?" Jiang Hua wondered to himself.
Jiang Hua continued walking for a while, then turned a corner and reached the end.
Upon reaching the end, Jiang Hua discovered that there was another tomb on the wall at the end. However, this tomb was much larger, reaching a height of ten meters, and covered with inscriptions.
"A tomb?"
Jiang Hua was taken aback, thinking to himself, "Could this tomb be called 'Tomb Mansion'?"
"Yes! This tomb is called the Tomb Palace!"
This should be the burial site of this tomb.
Jiang Hua guessed the names of the tombs here.
At this moment, Jiang Hua discovered a huge map on the stone wall in front of him. It was covered with maps and marked with many things.
Jiang Hua walked closer and saw a line of small characters in the middle of the map, written in Han Dynasty clerical script:
Tomb.
Jiang Hua was startled.
The fact that this tomb is called "Tomb Palace" is such a coincidence!
Jiang Hua had some doubts. Was the name of this tomb a coincidence? The names here seemed far too coincidental, didn't they?
Even Jiang Hua couldn't help but begin to have doubts. (End of Chapter)
