Chapter 417: Detective Lavender is on the move!
Sometimes, the layout of a room can often reveal a person's character.
At this moment, Lavender felt that Trelawney was a very strange person.
What appeared before them at this moment was the strangest classroom they had ever seen.
In fact, it doesn’t look like a classroom at all, but more like a cross between a loft and an old-fashioned teahouse.
There are at least twenty small round tables crammed into this classroom.
Around each table there were armchairs with Indian prints and plump little cushions.
Everything was lit by a dull scarlet light; the curtains were drawn, and the many lamps had crimson shades.
The room was sullenly warm, the fireplace full and a large copper kettle burning on it, so that the flames gave off a dull, cloying aroma.
Around the circular walls were shelves filled with dusty feather ornaments, candle stubs, worn playing cards, countless silver crystal balls, and a vast array of tea services.
"Is she upstairs?" Lavender, who knew in advance that there was a room above the divination classroom, looked up at the ceiling.
Suddenly a voice came from the shadows, a soft and vague voice.
"Welcome," the voice said. "It is good to see you finally in the physical world."
Big glowing insect!
Lavender took a few steps back in fear.
"Sit, my child, sit," continued the great glowing insect.
Lavender rubbed her eyes and realized it was a person.
She must be Professor Trelawney, for she stepped out of the shadows into the light of the fire, allowing Lavender to see her clearly.
She is very thin.
Her large glasses magnified her eyes several times, and she was wearing a glittering shawl that looked like a thin, transparent gauze. There were countless necklaces and beads hanging around her slender neck, and bracelets and rings on her arms and hands.
She spoke with a slight narrowing of her eyes, as if she had known they were coming here.
Lavender didn't think Professor Trelawney was as strong as she seemed.
Perhaps it was because she had just been frightened that she had observed Professor Trelawney carefully.
She noticed that there was a cup of tea on the table to her right that looked like it had just been brewed.
The dents in the bulging cushions of the armchair also indicated that someone had just sat there and had just gotten up.
In Lavender's mind, she already had a picture of the skinny Professor Trelawney lowering the stairs and retreating into the shadows when she heard them coming.
This also made Lavender stand still.
But Parvati looked very pleased. She looked at Professor Trelawney with fear and trepidation, and obediently climbed clumsily into the armchair as instructed, sinking into the bulging cushions.
"Welcome," said Professor Trelawney, and she tossed Lavindra into an armchair beside the table where Parvati sat.
Before Lavender could come to her senses, she found that Professor Trelawney's right hand had quietly picked up the cup of hot tea and returned to the place where she usually took classes - a winged armchair in front of the fireplace.
"I'm Professor Trelawney, you may not have seen me before. I find that being in the hustle and bustle of school life too often has made my third eye blurry." Faced with such unusual words from Professor Trelawney, Parvati was so excited that she was about to cry.
However, Lavender noticed that Professor Trelawney deliberately prolonged her tone when speaking, as if to give her time to observe them.
And, cleverly, they were in the armchairs and couldn't see the upper half of Professor Trelawney's face. This was a brilliant liar!
Detective Lavender is on the move!
She clenched her fists, but still pretended to be bewitched. This is not difficult, just learn from Parvati.
Apparently, her expression fooled Professor Trelawney.
Professor Trelawney cleared her throat just in time, rearranged her shawl delicately, and continued, "You are confused."
"You really know!" Parvati clapped in cooperation.
Parvati was completely convinced by Professor Trelawney's performance and the surrounding decorations full of the style of her hometown (India).
"You, girl—" Trelawney said suddenly to Lavender, raising an eyebrow at Lavender's calm demeanor. "The confusion comes from you."
"I think so." Lavender responded and shuddered deliberately.
Parvati was so excited that she almost jumped up.
"I knew you'd see this coming!"
"I knew it!"
"I must take your class next year!" Parvati looked at Professor Trelawney with admiration.
"You are still sophomores, right?" A soft, vague voice came from Trelawney.
"Yes!" Parvati wiped her tears.
At this moment, Lavender just wanted to open her roommate's head and see what was inside.
No wonder her sister got into Ravenclaw and she didn't.
It was Parvati herself who said she would choose the course next year!
While Lavender was sulking, Parvati had already told her all the information in Lavender's dream.
"Very good, it seems you are worthy of the most difficult course in all magical arts - Divination."
"But Parvati, if you want to take my class, I must warn you from the beginning: if you don't have the 'sight', there will be very little I can teach you. In this regard, books can only take you so far..." Trelawney first looked at Lavender with an extremely strange look, and then she suddenly relaxed, and then she started to pua Parvati again.
This is the look you get from looking at someone of your own kind!
Lavender understood subconsciously.
Professor Trelawney probably thought she was the same liar as her!
To show my presence in front of my classmates!
And Professor Trelawney's strange words to Parvati were also intended to divert Parvati's attention.
Professor Trelawney suddenly relaxed, and must have mistakenly understood the reason for her unusual behavior just now!
Lavender couldn't help blushing.
Professor Trelawney saw through everything she had just pretended to be!
If Professor Trelawney is a liar, she's a very good liar!
"Professor, you haven't explained Lavender's dream yet."
"Should Lavender have contact with Ron?"
"Please, this is what Lavender cares about most!" Parvati suddenly seemed to remember something and withdrew from her worship.
Lavender couldn't help but feel a little bit. When she was stunned by Professor Trelawney's trick, Parvati still thought of her.
"I think, dear, this is a kind of warning given to you by your 'sight'."
"But because your 'vision' is not as strong as mine, what you 'see' is such strange and fragmented information." Professor Trelawney looked at Lavender.
