Chapter 32 The Disaster of Selva

Chapter 32 The Disaster of Selva
The sun had just risen in the east when the bloody doom enveloped this small mountain village.
".Olivia!! Olivia!! Wake up!!!"

The continuous and violent banging on the door woke up the girl who was sleeping in the bedroom.

Olivia was startled, she opened her eyes in confusion and sat up. She heard her father's anxious call outside the door, and her first reaction was that there was a thief in the house.

But then, the girl heard through the window the terrified cries for help from the villagers downstairs.

Olivia hurriedly rolled off the bed, ran to the door in her slippers and opened it.

I saw that my father was only wearing simple clothes, and he even hastily put on a breastplate on the outside.

Old Brian held two long swords in his hands. With a serious face, he raised his hand and handed one of them to his daughter: "Put on your shoes immediately and follow me!"

Taking the steel sword from her old father who was reluctant to touch weapons in the past, Olivia asked anxiously and worriedly: "What happened in the village? Father, are there people screaming outside!?"

"It's the Kantadar army. A large group of cavalry just rushed into the village. We must escape immediately! Don't just stand there! Go and put on your shoes!" the old blacksmith shouted worriedly.

The girl suppressed her confusion and turned around to put on her boots as quickly as possible, then hurried downstairs with her father.

"Go to the stable!" Old Brian pulled his daughter and ran towards the back door.

Outside the window, the horrifying shouts and screams of the villagers made Olivia feel cold all over.

She heard the miserable cries of the neighbors and the cruel laughter of the thugs as their horses' hooves passed by.

"Don't kill me, sir! Help! Help!"

"Dad! That's Uncle Matt!"

She stopped and gritted her teeth, wanting to turn back to save the kind neighbor, but her arm was tightly grasped by her father.

"Don't be silly, my dear daughter. Please, I beg you! You are very strong, but the troops outside are led by the knights of the enemy country. Even you can't stop them if they rush forward. Go!"

The old blacksmith forced himself to harden his heart and dragged the girl to the backyard.

".But!"

The sudden and drastic change made Olivia's heart beat like a drum and her breathing rapid. The girl's eyes were full of fear and anxiety. She had no idea what to do now.

"No buts, there's nothing we can do! Even if it's just for me, okay? Don't get both you and me involved!" Old Brian pulled his daughter and rushed to the stable in the backyard.

(Uriah) "Haha~ There's a woman~!"

Outside the low wall of the yard, a Kantadar cavalryman laughed loudly on horseback. He caught sight of the girl with blonde hair in the yard, and the animal nature that had not been released for a long time rushed to his mind.

There was only an elderly couple in the farmhouse just now, and he was afraid that there would not be any smell of meat in this remote area.

As for the long swords in the hands of the father and daughter, the battle-hardened Kantardar cavalryman didn't take them seriously at all. They were just a village man and a mountain girl.

He dismounted and kicked open the small door in the backyard. When he saw the girl's face clearly, the Kantadar cavalry was even more ecstatic. There was such a beautiful girl in this rural village! ?

Fearing that his fellow brothers would snatch the lead, he swung the blood-stained sword in his hand and strode towards the father and daughter.

"Old man, your daughter is so fair and tender. I, the general, have accepted her today. I am so kind that I will let you die happily!" The Kantadar cavalryman grinned in his half-familiar Feru language.

"Shameless!" Olivia pursed her lips and glared at the thug with cold eyes.

"Let's go together! Don't hold back on him!" Old Brian raised his sword and rushed forward.

The blonde girl, who could no longer contain her anger, was faster than her father!

The fluttering skirt fluttered in the wind, and Olivia seemed to have turned into a golden meteor.

Behind the helmet mask of the Kantadar cavalry, the originally arrogant and violent eyes instantly turned into shock. He couldn't even react to move his feet. He raised his knife unexpectedly, trying to parry the sword light heading straight for his face, but the sudden twist in his hand deflected the blade in an instant.

The cavalryman felt a chill at the base of his fingers and the palm of his right hand holding the knife, and a sharp pain came, and the weapon fell out of his hand.

The girl's slashing sword blade rubbed the inside of his iron gauntlet at an incredible angle, and pierced into the palm of his hand wrapped in a thin chain mail lining from between his fingers.

Before the cavalryman could even utter a scream of pain, Olivia sheathed her sword and raised it high, stepping forward with a flash of cold light.

The blade slashed through the gap in the armor at the humeral joint of his right arm.

The sword blade was deeply embedded in the lining of the chain mail, and bright red color overflowed from the gaps in the chain mail.

The cavalryman's right forearm had been cut off by a single blow.

"Ahhhh——!"

The Kantardar cavalry screamed in fear and retreated in panic, with his right hand hanging and shaking at a strange angle due to the restraint of the arm armor.

Olivia raised the sword back in front of her in the left bull pose, but the finishing blow that was supposed to be delivered instantly was stopped.

He frowned and stared at the enemy in front of him who was screaming in fear.

The blonde girl instinctively felt a little reluctant to kill.

She has never hurt anyone's life, and she never intended to take anyone's life in the future.
But the suffering of the Kantardar cavalry was decisively ended by old Brian.

At the same time, the old blacksmith rushed forward and knocked down the cavalry in front of him with his shoulder.

He pressed down on his opponent skillfully, and the blade of his sword pierced through the gap under the armpit of the breastplate, piercing through the enemy's chest horizontally.

"Do not hesitate, Olivia! Their crimes deserve no punishment!"

Old Brian finished off the dying enemy and raised his head to admonish: "Protect yourself and kill the thug in front of you, or you and I will end up like this."

For the first time, he felt a little regretful for raising his daughter to be so kind.

After all, she was still so young, and I had not had time to teach her what the cruelty necessary for survival was.

After completely killing the Kantadar cavalrymen under him, Brian dragged the dazed girl into the stable.

The old blacksmith pushed his daughter onto the horse first, then he jumped onto another horse, shouting and urging the horse out of the stable.

Olivia took a deep breath, her eyes regained their determination, and she urged the horse to catch up with her father.

She knew that in the current crisis, she could not afford to dwell on her resistance to ending a life with her own hands for even a second.

I am helpless about the safety of the villagers in my hometown, and I absolutely cannot let my father suffer misfortune!

The father and daughter rode their horses out of the backyard through the small door one after another.

When Old Brian saw the ownerless Cantadar horse at the door, he sheathed his sword, drove his horse forward, and when he passed the enemy, he reached out and grabbed the cavalry spear that was stuck on the side of the enemy's horse.

"Drink!!"

Shouting to urge his horse, the old blacksmith who was leading the way rushed out of the alley like a knight with a spear under his arm with ease.

On the chaotic and narrow streets of the village, several Kantardars who were burning, killing and looting immediately noticed the two galloping figures.
