Chapter 344 Ambush
After the meeting, Tielan was like a wildcat that had spotted a sparrow, his eyes filled with impatient cruelty.

She quickly finalized the marching route and chose the black pine forest behind Meng Xiao's camp as their ambush site. In her view, it was the best place for them to lie in ambush, and when the night was deep and quiet, they could strike in one fell swoop and wipe them out.

After that, she quickly assembled a cavalry force of nearly 10,000 men. These female soldiers were carefully selected by the Third Princess and her followers, and were the most devoted believers in their ideals.

Although they had not undergone any proper military training, nor were they physically weak due to malnutrition, they believed that as long as they ate a few more bites of meat and did a few more push-ups than usual, they could suddenly become incredibly strong.

When the army assembled, their eyes gleamed with ferocity, eager to tear Meng Xiao and his men to shreds.

Standing atop the high slope, looking down at the dark mass of troops, Tielan felt a surge of pride. The third princess and the Khatun did not accompany him; they remained in the royal tent, awaiting Tielan's report of victory.

Tielan waved his hand and announced the departure.

Soon, this massive team officially set off, kicking up clouds of sand and snow as they marched south.

Tielan took the lead, braving the biting wind, and charged at the very front of the group. She gazed ahead, calculating how much longer it would take to reach the Black Pine Forest.

There were no scouts ahead of the army, not because Tielan had overlooked anything, but because she was completely unaware that there were scouts.

Whether there were enemy tracks ahead or ambushes on both sides, these questions never entered her mind. In her understanding, marching was simply moving from one point to another and then starting a killing spree, nothing more.

The army behind her was completely undisciplined, marching in long, loose formations. The female soldiers chatted and laughed in small groups, discussing how they would divide the men after breaking through the camp and what would be the most fun way to torture them.

A few impatient ones even started racing their horses on the snow, letting out bursts of sharp laughter. The neighing of horses, the unrestrained shouts of women, and the creaking of wheels mixed together into a noisy torrent that spread unchecked across the silent snowfield.

This scene looks less like a military march and more like an outing.

But Tielan wasn't surprised at all. After all, she had never fought a war, the Third Princess's teaching was half-hearted, and she kept telling them that as long as they had the courage to resist and the awakening of their nature, they would definitely win, and nothing else mattered.

Having complete faith in the Third Princess, Tielan naturally did whatever made her feel comfortable.

As evening approached, the weary caravan came to a halt. Tielan casually reined in his horse in front of a flat, open patch of snow, waving his hand impatiently: "That's enough. Hurry up and finish eating so we can go to sleep!"

So the female soldiers found places and set up tents haphazardly, lighting up campfires that made the entire campsite as bright as day.

The entire camp was a mess, with no use of the terrain for concealment and no defensive fortifications, as if they were afraid that others would not discover them.

While working, the female soldiers kept chatting excitedly and noisily.

Tielan naturally felt the deafening noise as well.

But she just frowned in annoyance, cursing inwardly that these women were giving her a headache, and hoped to reach her destination soon, finish her work, and go back to enjoy her spoils.

As for whether this kind of march would expose them? She had no idea about such a thing.

Unfortunately, God doesn't show them any leniency just because they are women, nor does He tolerate their foolishness.

Their whereabouts were discovered within two days.

On an inconspicuous hill, Meng Xiaojun's watchtower stood like a nail driven into a coffin, its blackness piercing the swirling snow. At the top, a scout held up binoculars, clearly seeing the dark line crawling across the distant snow.

He put down his binoculars, rubbed his eyes, and looked as if he had seen a ghost. He didn't dare to delay and quickly jotted down the enemy's size, direction, and their completely unprepared and foolish appearance.

With the waving of flags, information spreads like ripples on water, station by station.

Soon, the note containing the enemy's message was handed to Meng Xiao.

Meng Xiao unfolded the note, glanced at it, and a mocking smile appeared on his face.

"Your Majesty is truly a visionary; these women have launched a sneak attack." He shook his head, his face filled with genuine admiration. Then, his gaze fell back on the note, his eyes blazing with murderous intent—the pent-up anger of the past few days was finally about to erupt. "Very good. Pass down the order, tell the brothers to perk up and prepare to entertain our distinguished guests who have come from afar!" After enduring several days of dry rations in the wind and snow, Tielan and her group finally arrived at their designated ambush point—the Black Pine Forest—with great difficulty.

At Tielan's command, they set up camp there. The female soldiers slumped off their horses with sighs and groans, preparing to rest.

After walking for so long, who could still maintain the same excitement as when they first set off? Days of forced marching had completely drained them, leaving them only with annoyance. Now, having to camp in this dimly lit pine forest where one could easily twist their ankle, they couldn't help but curse under their breath.

A female soldier was struggling to pull at a stiff piece of tent fabric, but the fabric seemed to be deliberately working against her, frozen stiff and impossible to unfold. Finally, her patience wore thin, and with a curse, she kicked it: "Damn it! It's frozen solid!"

The curse was particularly jarring in the deathly silent forest. Then, as if someone had lifted an invisible lid, the other female soldiers were stunned at first, and then began to complain.

"I'm exhausted. My legs feel like they don't belong to me anymore!" A female soldier rubbed her aching thighs and slumped onto the snow, not wanting to move anymore.

Another female soldier chimed in, "If we had known, we should have just let the princess use her divine power to freeze them all to death. We wouldn't have had to come all this way and suffer like this!"

"Exactly! They made us come all this way, it's exhausting and so annoying!"

The resentment spread faster than a plague, and before long, the entire camp was filled with sighs and lamentations.

These feeble wails pierced Tielan's ears, igniting a fire within her. But she forced back her anger, knowing that unleashing it now would only make things worse. She parted the crowd, stood in the center, and shouted with all her might, "Shut your mouths, all of you!"

Who are you trying to fool with that long face? My bones are about to fall apart, did I say anything? All you do is complain about being tired, can't you use your brains? Tonight, when we sneak into those men's den, what kind of scene will that be?"

Her words, though brief, immediately piqued the interest of those around her, who all looked up at Tielan, waiting for her to continue.

Tielan continued, “Those self-righteous men are sleeping like dead pigs. When we strike, their heads fall to the ground with a thud, and they don’t even realize they’re dead.”

Then their gleaming armor, sharp weapons, mountains of grain, gold and silver, and even those delicate, fair-skinned young men will all be ours!

As Tielan spoke, the light in her eyes became more and more frightening, and she seemed less and less like a living person: "After we kill all those soldiers, I'll make that Meng Xiao kneel in front of us, crawling around like a dog! I'll show you just how despicable and useless these arrogant men really are!"

"Just for this little bit of hard work, you'll feel so good afterward. Don't you think it's worth it? Huh! Tell me!"

This crude incitement had an immediate effect. The female soldiers' breathing became heavy, their eyes filled with nothing but greed and fanaticism. Exhaustion? What was that? Fire reignited in their eyes.

"Yes! Kill them!"

"I want to capture a hundred men to be my slaves and whip them every day!"

Inside the woods, Tielan and her friends were having a wild party. But outside the woods, a dark mass of figures appeared silently, as if they had grown out of the ground.

Meng Xiao and his veterans remained quietly hidden outside the forest. Their armor gleamed coldly. They were like a pack of wolves that hadn't eaten for three days, smelling blood but still patiently waiting for the alpha to give the order.

A figure darted back from the edge of the woods. It was the scout who had been sent out to scout the situation. He reported to Meng Xiao's horse, "General, they've all rested. They're completely unprepared and are still discussing how to deal with us brothers."

Meng Xiao's face remained expressionless after hearing this. Regardless of one's emotions before launching an attack, one must remain calm afterward. This was an experience he had accumulated over decades of fighting.

He nodded and slowly raised his hand.

"The time has come."

The sound wasn't loud, but it was incredibly clear. He gripped the hilt of the knife and slashed downwards with a sudden, sharp motion, as if he were cutting through the air.

"Army attack!"
