Lin Nan aims to transform the Three Flowers into the Three Purities. To do this, he needs to cultivate the three most important auras: Xuan Qi, Yuan Qi, and Shi Qi.
If you want to achieve this goal, a deep and thorough understanding of these three auras is undoubtedly essential.
Although Lin Nan has been practicing the Three Pure Ones Dharma all along, he has received more careful guidance from Taishang Laojun on the path of cultivation.
Because of this, he did not encounter too many difficulties and obstacles when he cultivated the "Xuan Qi" and his progress was quite smooth.
But the cultivation of "Beginning Qi" and "Original Qi" is a different story. These two correspond to the realm of Shangqing and Taiqing respectively. If you want to cultivate them successfully, you really need to spend a lot of energy.
It is for this reason that Lin Nan’s core purpose of coming to pay homage to Shangqing Lingbao Tianzun this time is to get guidance in spiritual practice.
As Lin Nan asked question after question, Shangqing Lingbao Tianzun did not hold back at all, but patiently and carefully answered them one by one.
Lingbao Tianzun was extremely devoted in his explanation. In the process of answering questions, he gradually changed from passive response to active explanation, as if he had started a unique "sermon" event specifically for Lin Nan.
Lin Nan was completely focused, immersed in the profound Taoism described by Lingbao Tianzun, and everything in the outside world seemed to have nothing to do with him.
Time passed quietly, and I didn't know how long it had been before the voice of the sermon, which contained endless wisdom, slowly stopped.
Lin Nan was still immersed in that mysterious realm. After a long while, he slowly came back to his senses as if waking up from a dream.
Even with Lin Nan's understanding and cultivation background, it would be difficult for him to fully digest the huge amount of information contained in this sermon in a short period of time.
The content of this sermon was extremely complex. In addition to involving the subtleties of primordial energy and the state of Shangqing, it also covered many other methods.
Among them, there are both unique techniques of refining weapons and methods of building the foundation of cultivation. Just the knowledge gained from this lecture was enough for Lin Nan to spend a lot of time pondering and comprehending.
Just when Lin Nan was still immersed in the afterglow of the sermon, Lingbao Tianzun suddenly said, "You spared the Bull Demon King's family before, which was a very good thing." Lin Nan was slightly stunned when he heard this, and a trace of doubt arose in his heart. He didn't understand why Lingbao Tianzun suddenly mentioned this matter.
Lingbao Tianzun continued, "The Bull Demon King was my mount in ancient times. But later, when Jiejiao fell apart, it drifted to the earthly immortal world and became a demon." Lingbao Tianzun shook his head slightly, a trace of regret on his face, "But it didn't know the destiny, and it couldn't escape the fate of being subdued by Buddhism."
When Lin Nan heard this, he suddenly realized that there was an unknown story behind the fact that Lingbao Tianzun had been preaching to him and answering his questions for no reason.
While Lin Nan was thinking secretly, the voice of Lingbao Tianzun sounded again: "You are now a Taoist disciple and a Taoist master in the world, shouldering the important task of revitalizing Taoism. So, what do you think of the three religions in the past?"
Lin Nan was slightly stunned, and then fell into deep thought. He knew very well that the Lingbao Tianzun standing in front of him was asking him this question in the identity of "Tongtian Jiaozhu". Obviously, Tongtian Jiaozhu still had an unforgettable feeling for the Jiejiao that he had founded.
Although the destruction of Jiejiao did not cause any substantial damage to Tongtian, it only left a deep or shallow mark in his long life. However, this emotion is like a seed buried deep in his heart, which is always difficult to dissipate.
Lin Nan pondered for a moment, weighing in his mind how to answer this sensitive and important question. Finally, he slowly said: "The existence of the Three Religions has lost its original meaning in today's era. The ideas and essence of the three ancestors have long been integrated into the foundation of Taoism and have become the cornerstone of the development of Taoism."
However, after hearing this, Master Tongtian murmured to himself, "It has no meaning? How can it have no meaning? My Jie Sect has thousands of immortals coming to pay homage to me. Anyone who is willing to practice cultivation can start practicing and spread the way of cultivation. How can the meaning of this be easily erased?"
Facing Master Tongtian's sigh, Lin Nan responded solemnly: "It is precisely because of this that the Jiejiao founded by the founder is inevitably mixed with good and bad. Perhaps at the beginning of its establishment, everyone had a sincere heart and devoted themselves to the Tao. But as time goes by, people's hearts change, and it is inevitable that some people who do evil and behave badly will appear."
Lin Nan's words actually had a hidden meaning. Although the Jiejiao of ancient times was known to have thousands of immortals coming to pay homage, it was also full of impurities. Some Jiejiao disciples died innocently, which was a pity; but some deserved their punishment and did not deserve to die.
Lin Nan said this not to attack Master Tongtian on purpose, therefore, he immediately added: "The Chan sect also has many drawbacks, then..." Then, Lin Nan talked freely and analyzed the various shortcomings of the Chan sect.
In today's world, not to mention Jiejiao, even Chanjiao has long become history. The torrent of time has ruthlessly washed away everything, proving that the concepts and models of these two religions are no longer suitable for the development of the times.
Of course, the three former religions - Jiejiao, Chanjiao and Renjiao - have now been integrated into Taoism and become part of Taoism's profound heritage. The former Western religion has even transformed itself into Buddhism and has become the mainstay of Buddhism.
Lin Nan, with his unique perspective as a latecomer, could clearly see the various shortcomings of the sects at that time. Therefore, he was able to comment deeply and hit the nail on the head.
At one moment, he bluntly stated that there were many problems with the Jiejiao; the next moment, he pointed out that the Chenjiao would be difficult to survive for long; then, he talked about how if the Western religion had not been transformed into Buddhism, it would have been difficult to continue for a long time in the long river of history.
After this review, Master Tongtian could not help but look at Lin Nan with new eyes. He found that this young man not only had a keen insight, but also had unique insights and a clear and profound understanding of the development of Taoism.
After Lin Nan finished speaking, Tongtian Sect Leader nodded slightly, with a hint of appreciation in his eyes, and said: "As expected of a Taoist master in the human world, your understanding is clear and thorough, without any deviation."
Tongtian Patriarch paused and asked again: "Then do you think that under your leadership, can Taoism resist the rise of Buddhism?"
"Of course you can." Lin Nan nodded without hesitation, his eyes revealing determination and confidence. "As long as the Buddhist sect does not let the Buddha and Bodhisattva die together and deal a devastating blow to Chechi Kingdom, the momentum of the prosperity of Buddhism will inevitably come to an abrupt end in a few decades or a hundred years." "Oh?" Hearing this, Tongtian Sect Master's eyes flashed with curiosity and asked, "Why are you so confident? Is it just because of the so-called 'modernization' transformation that Chechi Kingdom is currently undergoing?"
Although Tongtian was outside the thirty-three heavens, he could know the affairs of the three realms with just a thought. Therefore, he knew the current situation of Chechi State very well, and knew that Chechi State was undergoing an unprecedented transformation, trying to achieve national prosperity and development through "modernization".
"That's right." Lin Nan nodded and said calmly, "Once Chechi Nation grows up, it will occupy the mainstream position of humanity with an irresistible momentum and become the core of the destiny of the human race. By then, Taoism will naturally flourish, and the momentum of the rise of Buddhism will also be suppressed."
Lin Nan spoke slowly, but Master Tongtian pressed on: "How can you be sure that after the rise of Chechi Nation, it will become the center of humanity and carry the destiny of the human race?"
Lin Nan said firmly without hesitation: "Of course. Chechi Nation is the true hope that can represent the future of the human race."
Lin Nan's voice gradually slowed down, and his tone was full of emotion: "Looking at the four continents, which human country can allow the people to live and work in peace and contentment and lead a prosperous life like Chechi Country?"
"In this case, apart from Chechi Kingdom, which other country can become the center of the human race? Even the once glorious Tang Dynasty is not worthy."
Lin Nan's words made Tongtian Sect Master slightly stunned. He did not expect that this young man would have such lofty ambitions and be so confident in the future of Chechi Country.
But the next moment, Master Tongtian laughed, and his laughter was full of admiration for Lin Nan: "Well done Lin Nan, you have such a spirit, you are worthy of being the contemporary Taoist recognized by Senior Brother."
Tongtian Sect Master admired Lin Nan even more at this time. He said with emotion: "People in the Taoist sect should have such a broad mind and temperament, instead of being like the disciples under my senior brother, who are indifferent and indifferent to things outside the Taoist sect, allowing the Buddhist sect to continue to grow."
"Since you have such great ambitions, I will recognize you as the leader of the world. Just go ahead and do it boldly!" Tongtian Sect Master said so, his words full of trust and support for Lin Nan.
Lin Nan was slightly stunned, then realized that this was the recognition and support from Master Tongtian. As the supreme beings of Taoism, the Three Pure Ones each represented different ideas and had their own unique personalities.
Taishang Laojun advocated governing by doing nothing and maintained a nonchalant attitude towards all things in the world. This concept also deeply influenced many Taoist disciples, making them not fight or compete with each other. They also treat people outside Taoism with a casual attitude of "believe it or not".
But Lingbao Tianzun, also known as Tongtian Jiaozhu, is completely different. In the past, for the sake of his Jiejiao, he did not hesitate to turn against other saints and fight with them, which shows his strong character.
There is no doubt that even after so many years, Tongtian's character has not changed. He admires Lin Nan's proactive and responsible approach.
"Thank you, Master Shangqing, for your kindness." Lin Nan looked solemn and expressed his gratitude sincerely.
Patriarch Tongtian waved his hand and said, "If you sincerely want to thank me, you must practice what you preach and truly develop Chechi Nation to prevent the great calamity of Buddhism. Only in this way can you meet my wishes."
"Disciple understands." Lin Nan nodded solemnly.
Master Tongtian said again: "You can practice in my Shangqing Holy Land. This place may have unexpected opportunities for you."
"Brother, your Taiqing Holy Realm contains the true meaning of 'Xuan', which is the supreme realm of Taoism. My Shangqing Holy Realm contains the mystery of 'Yuan'. Yuan refers to the essence of the origin. Essence is the root of the five elements and the door to the creation of all things. It has the ability to change in a thousand ways. My Yuan Realm can also be called the True Realm. In the Taiqing Holy Realm, one can cultivate to become an immortal; but in my Shangqing Holy Realm, one can eliminate the false and retain the true, and explore the essence of cultivation..."
Master Tongtian patiently gave Lin Nan some advice and agreed to let Lin Nan practice in the holy land of Shangqing.
This move can be described as generous. Not only did he preach and answer Lin Nan's questions, he also allowed him to practice in the holy realm. This shows that Master Tongtian recognized and valued Lin Nan.
Lin Nan thanked Master Tongtian solemnly, and then did not leave immediately. Instead, he chose to calm down in this holy land of Shangqing and began his own journey of cultivation.
A person has three souls, namely the heavenly soul, the earthly soul and the human soul, which are the essence of a person. The human body also has three great treasures, namely essence, energy and spirit, which complement each other and maintain the operation of life.
In a certain mysterious realm, the realm of Shangqing can also correspond to Yuanjing, Yuanqi and Yuanshen respectively. Among them, Taiqing undoubtedly represents the supreme "God", which can be called the first of the three treasures and dominates people's spiritual consciousness and spiritual perception.
Shangqing Lingbao Tianzun, he symbolizes "primordial essence". In this mysterious Shangqing holy land, the primordial energy that permeates is all transformed from the energy of primordial essence, rich and pure. If ordinary people are lucky enough to be in such an environment, they only need to take a few breaths and they will feel full of energy, as if they have endless energy, and their whole body is full of vigorous vitality.
Lin Nan found a quiet place in the holy land of Shangqing, sat cross-legged, and practiced meditation. He breathed in and out slowly, taking in the abundant vital energy around him. With every breath he took, the vital energy flowed along his meridians like a lively stream, nourishing his body and mind.
Not long after, Lin Nan could clearly feel his magic power growing stronger and stronger, and the essence that was originally hidden in his body seemed to be injected with powerful vitality and became extremely abundant. He even had a strange feeling that his essence was about to burst out and break through the shackles.
Among the three elements of spirit, energy and spirit, Lin Nan's energy was particularly powerful at the moment. This abundant energy, like a blazing flame, was continuously transformed into powerful mana, surging in his body, like a gorgeous flower about to bloom.
However, Lin Nan knew very well that if he wanted to completely transform his own essence into innate essence and then comprehend the mysteries of the Shangqing realm, it would not be achieved overnight.
This not only requires a long period of accumulation, but also requires constant understanding and precipitation, just like brewing fine wine, which needs to be polished over the years before it can emit a mellow fragrance. (End of this chapter)
