Chapter 210 Construction of Global Satellite Positioning System
Chapter 210 Construction of Global Satellite Positioning System
In late March 1984, the base in northern Myanmar began intensive satellite launches. Every three to five days, the "Qihang" would take off and launch the "Messenger 3" communications satellite into a 3-kilometer polar circular orbit.
With the continuous launch of communication satellites, Myanmar and nearby areas can receive satellite signals. More and more new humans and natural persons with brain-computer chips implanted have begun to connect through satellite networks.
With the area covered by satellite signals, Wang Jiankun and the Quanjiezhen organization have greatly strengthened their control over the new humans. They no longer have to worry about them suddenly leaving the signal range and disappearing.
Previously, a new human disappearance case occurred in the Kolkata area of India. The new human agent who was sent to the Kolkata area to collect public intelligence suddenly lost contact with the headquarters shortly after landing. His built-in brain-computer chip did not send back an alarm, and he disappeared suddenly.
It was two days later that they discovered that they had lost contact. When they sent him to the Kolkata area, they had taken the communication difficulties there into consideration, so they agreed to contact him once every two days, using the secret radio he brought with him to connect with the cruise airship in the sky, and then relay the signal to the headquarters in northern Myanmar.
Two days later, the alarm was triggered because he failed to send a reply message at the agreed time.
At that time, my uncle quickly dispatched intelligence forces in the eastern region of India, and then sent a 6-member elite combat team into Kolkata to search for the new human who had lost contact.
After more than a week of searching, the remains of this new human were finally found in a hospital, with both of his kidneys missing.
The combat team brought his remains back to the headquarters, and then read the data from the brain-computer chip in his brain. They found that after getting off the plane, he went to find a place to stay according to the predetermined plan, but not long after he settled in the slums of Kolkata, he developed diarrhea, and it was particularly severe, so he had to go to the hospital for treatment.
After having his blood drawn at the hospital, he returned to his slum residence less than half a day before a group of people broke into his room and knocked him unconscious. He was then taken to a black hospital, where both his kidneys were removed while he was sleeping. His wounds were not sutured properly after the operation and he died from excessive blood loss.
Because he was anesthetized by anesthetics, the ability of the brain-computer chip to control the limbs was greatly reduced, the nervous system of the torso entered a paralyzed state, and the muscles lost control due to the influence of anesthetics, so the previous plan did not work.
Since then, the Quanjie Array has begun to implement stricter management on new humans sent out and natural persons implanted with brain-computer chips, and has suspended dispatches to some places where communication is particularly inconvenient to avoid such situations.
Fortunately, the black hospital only moved the new human's kidney and did not perform a full body dissection on him, otherwise the brain-computer chip might have been exposed.
Now, with the gradual improvement of the global satellite communication system, all people with brain-computer chips can communicate with satellites in the sky. The tentacles of the full-solution array can gradually extend to those areas where communication was originally difficult, and there is no need to worry about intelligence personnel or operations personnel losing contact.
While in the gap of building the global satellite communication system, Wang Jiankun completed the manufacture of the first navigation satellite.
It was named "Beidou-1" and the future navigation system will also be named "Beidou Navigation".
Its total mass reaches 6 tons, making it a heavyweight satellite.
When not unfolded, it is generally in the shape of a long cylinder, 5 meters long and 2 meters in diameter.
When the solar panels and signal transceiver are unfolded, they look like a Chinese character "工", with solar panels at both ends reaching a length of 20 meters.
The satellite signal relay antenna and other instruments are in the middle.
Because it is so large and heavy, the "Voyage" can only carry one into the air at a time.
On March 3, Wang Jiankun completed the manufacture of the first Beidou-20 navigation satellite, and asked the base to quickly put this new satellite on the launch plan.
"Reporting to the commander-in-chief, based on the weather conditions and the maintenance status of the Qihang, the Beidou-2 communications satellite can be launched in two days."
“Two days later? That’s fine. Then let’s make a launch plan based on this time. I’ll send you the operating parameters of this satellite later.” The person in charge of satellite launch missions at the base reported.
"receive."
So not long after the person in charge left, Wang Jiankun sent him the relevant parameters of the Beidou-1 communications satellite.
The orbital altitude of the first BeiDou-1 navigation satellite is 2.048 kilometers. As for why it is at this altitude, there are actually many reasons. First of all, at this altitude, the earth's surface can be well covered, ensuring that the satellite signal can be transmitted to a large area of the earth to meet the needs of users for positioning, navigation and timing services. At the same time, it can provide relatively accurate position, speed and time information to achieve accurate navigation guidance.
Secondly, the orbital environment at this altitude is relatively stable, and the impact of factors such as the earth's gravity is relatively moderate, which is conducive to the satellite maintaining a stable orbit, reducing the frequency and difficulty of orbital adjustments, and reducing the satellite's operating costs and technical risks.
Finally, the satellite signal can be relatively less affected by atmospheric attenuation during propagation, ensuring the strength and quality of the signal, allowing ground users to receive stronger and more stable signals, and improving the reliability and accuracy of navigation.
Of course, navigation cannot be completed by relying on just one satellite. To achieve accurate three-dimensional positioning, the receiver must be able to receive data from four navigation satellites at the same time, and then perform cross-calculations based on the data from these four satellites to obtain accurate three-dimensional information for the receiver.
If an orbital altitude of 2.048 kilometers is chosen, then only 24 satellites will be launched, distributed on 6 different orbital planes, with 4 satellites evenly set up on each orbital plane. Then, at any point on the earth, signals from 4 satellites will be received simultaneously.
In the next two days, Wang Jiankun conducted detailed ground tests on the communications satellite to ensure that it could operate smoothly after being launched into space.
On March 1984, 3, Wang Jiankun called his uncle and went to the command and control hall with him to watch the launch of the first navigation satellite.
"Reporting to the commander-in-chief, the satellite and the space shuttle have completed inspection again, everything is normal, and request to take off." At 10 a.m., after checking all the data before takeoff, the commander-in-chief asked Wang Jiankun for instructions.
"Cleared for takeoff."
"Yes, all units, please note, the 10-minute takeoff countdown has begun."
"The 1-minute takeoff countdown begins."
"10, 9, 8, ..., 3, 2, 1, take off."
Because many takeoffs and launches have been completed, the entire command and control hall is no longer filled with a tense atmosphere. The staff on site are very skilled in performing various operations or analyzing the sent back data very naturally.
Because the release orbit this time is at an altitude of more than 2 kilometers, the flight time of "Qihang" is relatively long. It first flies to a circular orbit more than 3 meters close to the earth, and then continuously starts the engine at a certain point to make the orbit continue to become elliptical until its apogee reaches 2 kilometers.
Then start the engine at the apogee to slow down, turning the orbit into a circular orbit of 2.048 kilometers.
After the orbital altitude is stabilized, the process is the same as the previous communication satellite launch. The cargo hold is opened and the robotic arm takes out the Beidou-1 satellite and releases it at the designated location.
After the release, it continued to start the rotating detonation engine and attitude control engine at the tail to lower its orbital altitude, then entered the atmosphere in the southern Indian Ocean and flew back to northern Myanmar.
"Jiankun, the satellite has been released. When will the navigation test begin?"
"It's almost done. We are now correcting the satellite to ensure that its orbital altitude is what we preset. The error must be within the controllable range, otherwise the positioning accuracy will be affected during subsequent tests."
"Okay, how long will it take?"
"It should be soon. It was close to the planned orbit when it was released just now. Now we are just making fine adjustments. When we are done, we will open the communication module to test the signal transmission and reception."
"Then tell me how this navigation works."
"Okay, let's go eat first and talk while we eat. It's already past 1 o'clock."
"Okay, I'm really hungry, let's talk while we eat."
