Chapter 119 The World Devourer

Chapter 119 The World Devourer

A large, claw-like drop pod dropped from the sky while maintaining a tight formation.

Even during the airdrop phase, every airdrop capsule reflected the strict and suffocating discipline of the 12th Legion.

The tail flame of the drop module illuminated the sky of Nusa's second moon red.

On the ground, there are a large number of small buildings scattered around a magnificent building built on the back of a crater.

Those small buildings were once service stations used to receive tourists more than 10,000 years ago, and the huge building they surrounded was an airport. Tourists and transport ships coming and going would arrive at the airport to send and pick up tourists.

Visitors can stay and play at the Skyport while travelling to Nuceria for exciting role-playing.

No matter how luxurious these places may have once been, they are now just a refuge occupied by the Guards and the High Knights.

Inside one of the small buildings, the guards shouted in resistance, then obediently lined up outside the building to defend against the invaders on the positions they had built previously.

A company landed in front of them in a drop pod.

The hatch fell with a bang, stirring up smoke and dust, and then a large number of Space Marines poured out of the drop cabin.

No one shouted at the Space Marines to assemble, no one maintained discipline, they assembled spontaneously like robots according to some predetermined procedure.

After witnessing the number and appearance of the Guards, the commanders of this phalanx of superhuman warriors chose to eliminate the enemy in front of them in the most brutal way.

The Guards began firing at the Space Marines.

But then the gunboats swooped down from the sky and bombarded the heavy weapons on the position.

Another floating armored vehicle, piloted by the same Space Marine, drove out from a drop pod farther away, and as it approached rapidly, it aimed its targeted destruction at any heavy weapons on the position that might pose a threat to its battle brothers.

The phalanx marched forward.

Each World Eater carries a Chain Axe.

In step and in unison.

They looked like parts of a killing machine, but they were not as rigid and silent as machines.

Some Space Marines were talking and discussing in low voices.

He approached the Guards as if he was strolling.

Many of the Guards roared in protest of the Mad King's orders, but their bodies still rushed towards the Space Marines.

These mortals outnumbered the World Eaters phalanx by several times, but they were slaughtered and collapsed the moment the two sides engaged in battle.

The chainsaw axe cuts through the waist.

A huge fist pierced through the head.

One man was cut in half and thrown as a projectile to kill another man.

The advance of the Space Marine phalanx was not slowed down at all, they continued to advance and kill more people.

This is a punitive method of warfare, used by the XII Legion to quell rebellions against Cerberus and other rebels who dare to defy the rule of the Emperor of Mankind.

From the perspective of military interests, such an approach would deal a heavy blow to the enemy's morale.

But at this moment, at least the soldiers in this phalanx did not want to undermine the morale. They just wanted to use the cruelest way to ravage those damn bastards who had enslaved their genetic father.

To let any enemy facing the World Eaters die in a "merciful" way, where they would know they were dead only after they died, would be disrespectful to Angron, the Gene-Father. "They are indeed cruel."

Although Angron was in the Triumph Hall of the Resolute, he could see every situation on Nu Saturn.

Qin Xia placed his hand on Angron's skull and transmitted what he saw through his psychic vision into Angron's head.

Pure psychic vision can now see everything within a dozen kilometers, but it is not possible to see the surface of Nu Saturn while on a warship.

The method Qin Xia used was to view the battlefield from the first-person perspective of a Legion Space Marine. As long as the opponent had a soul and did not have a strong will to resist, Qin Xia could use this method to see everything that was happening far away.

Space Marines do not always fight in phalanx formations; they adapt to the circumstances and adopt different approaches depending on the actual situation of the enemy they face.

When the enemy's firepower is high and friendly Gunboats and Land Speeders are unable to quickly eliminate the enemy's firepower points, the Space Marines will fight normally as they would any other enemy in the Great Crusade.

But they still hope to kill the enemy brutally with close combat rather than feeding them a bomb.

"Kahn is a relatively important person in your legion. Let's see what he is doing." Qin Xia adjusted his vision and watched the battle from Kahn's perspective.

The captain of the 8th Assault Company, Kahn, was leading the battle at this time.

They encountered a tall rider.

Angron's heart tightened when he saw the tall knight floating in the sky, shouting that he didn't want to fight and cursing the Mad King.

The Primarch was concerned that the Space Marines would suffer unacceptable casualties in their first encounter with the High Knights.

In reality, however, the situation is much better.

When several veterans of the 8th Assault Company noticed that their company commander was galloping past them, they automatically followed Kahn and rushed towards the High Knight without any orders.

Their formation was dispersed, and they rushed left and right, so fast that even the tall knight could hardly catch up with them with his eyes.

During the charge, Kahn took out a smoke bomb from his waist and threw it to the ground, followed by several veterans doing the same.

The smoke spread and the High Knights could not see anything, but the Space Marines' armor eyepieces allowed them to see through the thick fog and directly see the source of heat on the High Knights' bodies.

When Kahn and others emerged from the smoke, the High Knight found that they were already two meters away from him.

Again there was no conversation or orders.

An old soldier fired a burst of fire from his bolter and jumped up with his chainsaw axe drawn, but he was pinned to the ground by the gravity released by the tall knight.

Another veteran jumped up and approached the Tall Knight, firing continuously in the air, but the series of explosive bombs he fired were blocked by the energy plating around the Tall Knight's body.

Another veteran approached the High Knight, leaving a "wound" on the plating that looked like an energy wound that had not yet fully closed.

Finally, Kahn leaped up, swinging his chainsaw axe along the energy-plated scar left by the previous veteran, and cut off the upper body of the tall knight.

After killing a tall knight, Kahn didn't even look at the body falling from the sky, and led the veterans in the company to continue killing the next tall knight.

They were well outnumbered by friendly lines, but they were the assault company, and that was what they were supposed to do.

“Excellent!” Angron exclaimed.

"They encountered a lot of monsters during the great expedition." Qin Xia had expected this and was not surprised.
