Warhammer: Angron Training Manual

Chapter 120 Lord of the Legion

Chapter 120 Lord of the Legion
"Centurion Kahn."

As Kahn was running across the battlefield with a chainsaw axe in hand, he suddenly heard a familiar voice ringing in his ears.

The voice did not come from the communication, but from a supernatural force, from the people in the legion who possessed supernatural powers - the think tanks.

"Tethys!" Kahn stopped and suddenly became furious. "How many times have I told you! Get out of my head!"

Before they became the World Eaters of the Gene-Father, the XII Legion were the Emperor's war dogs.

The elders of the XII Legion had participated in the Unification War of Terra and in military operations to deal with the Thunder Warriors. In that series of horrific wars on Terra, it was not only the mysterious ancient technologies but also the psykers that could inflict heavy damage to the Dogs of War.

After suffering heavy casualties during a war due to a psyker, the Legion came to hate psykers.

The Legion also has complaints about its own psyker battle-brothers, not only because a psyker had caused the Legion to pay a humiliating price in casualties, but also because of the Emperor's many teachings.

The Emperor was also hostile to psykers. He taught everyone that psykers were unstable and would bring disaster.

When the think tank named Tethys invaded his mind, Kahn was so furious that he scolded his brothers who belonged to the same legion as he treated an enemy.

"This is my last warning." Kahn gritted his teeth, "If you project your abominable power on your own people again, I will..."

"The Gene Father and the psychic are watching you." Tethys' voice was unhurried.

"Alright, I got it."

Kahn continued to charge forward.

The captain of the 8th Assault Company led his brothers in battle and was unstoppable on the battlefield.

The stubborn Guards' firepower points were broken into and eliminated by them at lightning speed.

The Guards' four-legged combat machines were bombarded by the gunboats called in by Kahn.

The small buildings filled with enemies were blown into holes by the grenades thrown by Kahn, and then Kahn and his combat brothers rushed in, causing the blood of the enemies inside to spurt out from the cracks and windows of the buildings.

When a team of thirty guards appeared in front of him and prepared to intercept, Kahn would draw out his bolt pistol, and together with his battle brother who also drew out his pistol, he would kill all the enemies in an instant with precise point-killing.

In this battle, Kahn demonstrated his calm judgment, efficient action, and strong combat ability.

It also shows how efficient his teamwork and unity are with his elite combat brothers in the company.

Gradually, rebel soldiers who were not as efficient as the Space Marines also joined the battle.

Those men followed the pace of the Space Marines and assisted in the attack. Their discipline also surprised some of the Space Marines who had fought alongside them, but after all, it was the first time for them to cooperate with these supermen. Occasionally they would not be able to keep up, they would fall behind, and would be outflanked and besieged by the enemy's armored forces.

Legion Master Kiel keeps a close eye on these mortals, using his keen judgment and superb command skills to predict what problems they may encounter, and then mobilizes nearby Space Marines to help.

Kahn also received an order to support the mortals, and then he gave up a tall knight he had been targeting and turned around without hesitation to carry out the order of the legion commander.

These Space Marines had previously cared little for their mortal allies.

Although the mortal friendly forces fighting with them are amazingly disciplined and will not collapse or foolishly block their way, no Space Marine will care about them, let alone help them, simply because they cannot keep up with the pace of the attack.

The problem is that these mortal allies are followers of Angron, who follow the Gene-Father to unify one damned living hell.

This made the Space Marines admire them, regardless of their obvious undesirability, considering the Gene-Father's pre-war orders.

Kahn and his battle-brothers killed a large group of enemies who were suppressing a Rebel squad with heavy firepower.

Others from the 8th Assault Company were also fighting nearby, aiding the Legion to which the Rebel squad belonged.

When Kahn shot the upper body of the last enemy with his last shot, the mortal soldiers who were holding up shields made of silver vines finally got out of trouble, untied the fused silver vines, and allowed the strange universal tool to wrap around their bodies again.

"Thank you." The squad officer saluted Kahn who was standing in a pool of blood.

"Warriors. Don't just focus on keeping up with our offensive." Kahn gave a sincere warning, looked around, and led a few people to charge forward.

When Kahn and several other high-ranking members of the 8th Assault Company thought that the Father of Genes was watching them, even the battle against a group of unskilled enemies like the Guards became interesting.

"They changed pretty quickly." Qin Xia watched the battle from Kahn's perspective, and also watched him from the perspective of the people around Kahn, and couldn't help but sigh.

Angron nodded, but then shook his head again, frowning. “The reason for this change is that they are all desperate for my approval and approval.”

Recalling every meeting with those Space Marines, and every Space Marine in every meeting... Angron felt that their minds were strange.

Not healthy...

“I don’t know if it’s an illusion,” Angron whispered. “I feel like they are… like a group of children… They haven’t established sound personalities or correct concepts yet, but how is that possible? A group of warriors who have fought till now, with an average height of more than two meters, are incredibly strong…”

"This is not an illusion." Qin Xia said, "To become a Space Marine, one needs to be transformed at a very young age. Almost all the Space Marines you see are like this. A group of children were strengthened into super soldiers over two meters tall, and then they were either fighting or on their way to fight. Of course, they have their own problems."

Hearing this, Angron felt helpless, sympathetic, and mixed emotions.

After thinking for a few minutes, the Primarch suddenly spoke again: "When you gradually told me about the things outside Nuceria a few years ago, I imagined that everyone in my legion was like you, not only healthy but also able to teach others. I hope that my legion is a group of educators, but the result..."

"Not all Space Marines have defective personalities. There are wise men in the Twelve Legions." Qin Xia adjusted the perspective to allow Angron to see another offspring.

Angron remembered him, the man who had led his company to fight alongside mortals, the captain of the Eighteenth Company.

It's called Margo.

Qin Xia switched the perspective back to Kahn: "The captain of the Eighteenth Company is from the same hometown as Kahn, and they are also good friends, but there is a huge contrast between the two of them. In the future, you will get to know everyone in the Twelfth Legion, and you will find that there are hidden treasures in your legion as well."

“My Legion?” Angron could no longer suppress the question that was hidden deep in his heart. “Ever since I met the 12th Legion, you have been emphasizing that this is my Legion. When facing the people in the Legion, you did not act like the mentor of the Gene Father of my descendants, the father of the Gene Father… Will you leave one day and join your Legion sooner or later?”

When Qin Xia had told stories about the Legion in the past, Angron had wondered whether his adoptive father was also a Space Marine.

He was afraid that Qin Xia's gene seed came from him, Angron.

Because once this happens, Qin Xia, who has never confirmed the father-son relationship, will be even less likely to confirm it.

"What are you asking?" Qin Xia slapped Angron on the back of his head. "If I had a legion, I would have called the fleet to rescue me long ago. I am indeed a Space Marine, but I don't have a legion. Apart from your Twelve Legions, I can't belong to anyone."

"But...but Angron, you must understand that you are the Lord of the Twelve Legions, you are the Primarch, and you must shoulder the responsibilities you were born to shoulder."

"You must continue to fight as the Lord of the Legion and participate in the Great Crusade. As the Lord of the Legion, you must change every planet that your Legion conquers and bring true order to the people there, who should not just have a new ruler."

"And I, I am your adoptive father, but I don't have the same appeal as you. Who will obey my orders except Nukeria and Numatra?"

After saying that, Qin Xia stared at Angron.

"I never thought of refusing to take on any responsibility. I haven't closed my eyes since the moment we fought our way out of the arena, because the military and government affairs filled every second of my day."

"I make decisions, whether they are cruel, gentle, or merciful, I make and I carry out my duties and my powers."

Angron's tone was firm, but also mixed with some emotion.

"But I am also a human being. What is the difference between me and ordinary people except for the difference in size? They say I am a demigod, one of the gods, but I am also afraid of myself."

"I am afraid that one day that golden guy will find one of my brothers, and then that brother will come with the legion and say that my adoptive father is his son, and then because of some kind of connection between the Space Marines and the Primarch, you will leave without saying a word."

"And then... and then many years later we met, and you saluted me with your head held high and your chest puffed out, just because I was another Primarch, as if we didn't know each other at all."

Qin Xia frowned and listened to every word Angron said, and then thought seriously about what Angron feared in his heart.

The Grey Knights have no Primarchs, they are also Space Marines, but their gene-seed is different.

"You don't need to be afraid of this." Qin Xia said, "If one day a Primarch comes to me and says that I used his gene seed, I will say that my uncle knows about it and you can have fun."

"Not to mention that this kind of thing is impossible. If there is any metaphysical connection between me, a Space Marine, and something, it is that golden man you saw. But did you see that I knelt before him?"

"I am not a normal Space Marine, nor do the gene-seed I use come directly from any Primarch like you."

Hearing this, Angron thought about it and finally nodded, accepting the guarantee.

"Of course, it is impossible for me to not interfere in any of the Legion's affairs." Qin Xia said a plan that he had made long ago, "Let me manage the think tank, and you don't interfere, and don't let others interfere. Let me build a think tank that is respected by others."

Angron agreed without hesitation: "It is settled then."

Qin Xia nodded.
