Warhammer: Angron Training Manual
Chapter 387: Taking sides
Chapter 387: Taking sides
The psychically facilitated meeting fell into silence.
The Primarchs who possessed superhuman thinking abilities stood in place, with their heads down, their heads up, their eyes closed, their eyes rolling around...all kinds of expressions that would originally only appear on the faces of mortals in deep thought appeared on the faces of the demigods.
Angron did not rush and waited quietly.
He was already able to sense the thoughts of all his brothers, which Primarchs were willing and which ones just wouldn't agree no matter what, so there was no need to persuade them anymore.
"This is really a ridiculous thing." Perturabo finished thinking first and took a few steps forward.
The Lord of Steel came before Angron and Guilliman, who were facing their Primarch brothers, and Qin Xia.
Then he turned around and glanced at each of his brothers.
"Robert, Angron." The Lord of Steel spread his hands and said loudly, "After all, it is just your speculation that the Imperial Senate will replace the War Council. If there is a change of this magnitude in the Imperial leadership, we will definitely be the first to know the news."
"That doesn't make sense." Guilliman took a step forward and looked up at Perturabo. "We have long been excluded from the Imperial Senate. Why should we be informed of changes in the Imperial leadership?"
"Whatever you want." Perturabo looked at Qin Xia, "Remove the little illusion you created. I don't have time to play power games with you."
Qin Xia raised his hand: "Don't worry, Lord of Steel, if we finally gain benefits, you and your Fourth Legion will still be able to enjoy them, even though you not only did nothing but also undermined your brothers."
When Perturabo wanted to retort, Qin Xia drove Perturabo out of the illusion.
"I will not participate either." Vulkan stepped forward and said to Angron, "I'm sorry brother... I believe it is our duty to protect the mortals. I have a feeling that if this continues, the mortals of Dawn will bear an undue cost in this conflict."
Angron shook his head. "It's alright, Vulkan."
Vulkan's figure gradually disappeared in the wind and snow.
At this time, Ferrus stood up and looked at Guilliman with a cold expression, then looked at Angron, and then said: "In my opinion, both the Imperial Senate and the War Council are extremely inefficient. It is meaningless for you to try to change it."
Angron was silent.
Ferrus continued, "But I support you and Guilliman. One is greater than zero. Doing something is better than doing nothing."
With that, Ferrus stood beside Angron and Guilliman.
Jaghatai walked directly to Angron and said nothing.
Ryan frowned when he saw Chagatai walking over: "Yes, you have long disliked the Empire and our father. I am not surprised at all that you stand on their side."
The other Primarchs present, except Lion, also thought it was normal for Chagatai to stand on Angron's side.
Chagatai often spoke ill of the Empire and the Emperor, and it was no secret that he once said that the Imperial Truth was a lie.
"I will not oppose just for the sake of opposing." Jaghatai extended his hand to Lion. "I think what Angron said is correct. The complete exclusion of the Astartes from the Imperial Senate will only lead to the Astartes and mortals going their separate ways. There will be an irreparable rift between the two foundations of the Empire. You should stand on this side... if you really stand for the Emperor and the Empire."
Ryan rolled his eyes at Chagatai and remained silent.
Chagatai withdrew his hand: "I understand."
Fulgrim walked out from the remaining brothers, like a graceful orator, with his right hand behind his waist, his head held high and his chest puffed out, walking with elegant and light steps.
The Primarch of the Emperor's Children Legion opened his mouth, but closed it again, finally joining Angron in silence.
"I do not know what you are hesitating about, brothers." Horus walked towards Angron and said, "We, the Primarchs and our respective Legions, are the main force of the Imperium. The Emperor led us to the Great Crusade. After countless tragic wars, the Empire has expanded to its current size and spread the glory of our father's ideals to the darkest corners of the galaxy."
Horus stopped and continued, "Look at what those mortal bureaucrats have done to all that we have bought with our blood, brothers. What I have seen and heard during the Great Crusade has taught me that they are twisting the ideals and benevolence of our fathers into the flames of hell."
Curze, Sanguinius, Corax, Leman Russ, Eleven, Lion.
Among the remaining six Primarchs who have not expressed their opinions, except Lion, Guilliman and Qin Xia believe that there is still room for them to fight for.
"This is a meaningless internal conflict." Eleven signaled with his eyes that Qin Xia could send him out of the illusion. "As part of the human species, we should consider the gains and losses of the entire race. Being too concerned about the gains and losses of individuals and the legion will only make us waste time on meaningless things."
Number 11 left.
Koz said: "Feel my heart."
Angron said, “I sense it.”
He sensed that Koz was in a complicated mood at the moment.
On the one hand, I feel that the Emperor is omniscient and omnipotent, and if the Imperial Senate does not have the participation of the Astartes, then it must be a good idea of the Emperor.
Qin Xia once told Curze that the Emperor was not omniscient and omnipotent, but before the Randan War, the Emperor and the Midnight Lords Legion jointly handled an incident that made Curze convinced that the Emperor was omniscient and omnipotent.
On the other hand, Curze promised Angron that he would stand by Angron as an individual in the future, but he was afraid that doing so would cause the Emperor's arrangements and plans to go awry. If he broke his promise, he would be sorry for Angron, and he was afraid that Angron would never give him psychological treatment again.
These words were difficult to express in words, but Angron understood them as soon as he sensed them.
"Don't let this matter make your split personality problem worse. Even if you choose to stand on my side now, I won't let you come, because the Midnight Lords are in a special situation, and your situation is also special..." Angron turned his head and looked at Qin Xia, "Father, let Coze leave."
Qin Xia raised his hand to let Koz escape from the illusion.
There are four Primarchs left.
Leman Russ glanced at Curze, then looked at Qin Xia, signaling him to leave as well.
There are three left.
Corax, Sanguinius, and Lion. So that means there are two left.
Angron sensed that Sanguinius felt that it was indeed inappropriate for the Imperial Council to not have the Astartes, and although he initially thought that it was fine without them, after listening to Angron's analysis that the Imperial Council would lead to the severing of the ties between the Legiones Astartes and the Empire, he felt that he should still participate.
But Sanguinius is a bit sinister.
He felt that if he stood on Angron's side, he could provide information to the Empire. On the one hand, he considered that if Angron failed and was punished, he and the Legion would not be too implicated. On the other hand, if the conflict gradually escalated, he would be able to stop it if a fight broke out.
Sanguinius knew that Angron knew what he was thinking.
So he smiled awkwardly.
But Angron held out his hand. "We all need you, Sanguinius."
Sanguinius sided with Angron.
Finally, Corax was the only Primarch left who could be won over.
Ryan faced Angron and the others alone.
The other side is outnumbered.
Ryan was still in high spirits. Seeing that Corax was still persisting, he suddenly felt that Corax was a good brother he could trust.
Opposite Lion, the large number of his Primarch brothers were staring at Corax.
Feeling that Corax had always had a weak presence and lacked momentum, Ryan stepped forward to support the brother who still stood with him.
Everyone present was silent for a while.
It wasn't until ten minutes had passed that Corax asked in confusion: "Why are you all looking at me?"
"They're trying to force you to make a choice," Ryan said, "but don't worry, because..."
Corax interrupted Ryan's unfinished words and said, "I thought leaving meant disapproval, and staying meant approval..."
Having said that, the Lord of Ravens immediately walked over to Angron.
Ryan watched speechlessly as Corax walked to the other side, leaving him alone on the opposite side.
“I do not understand why you would object,” said Guilliman. “Do you wish to see the Imperial Senate replace the War Council, our voices completely lost, and the ties between the various Legions and the Imperium greatly weakened, until one day in the future they will not accept any orders except from the Emperor himself?”
"I don't want to see this happen." Lion's eyes were firm. "But this shouldn't be the way we solve the problem. We shouldn't directly set up positions and confront the Empire on a desolate planet, and we shouldn't turn this incident into a confrontation between the Astartes Legion and the mortal camp."
"As someone who doesn't even care about his own home planet..." Guilliman laughed, "Your words are not convincing at all."
"When did I ignore my home planet Caliban?" Lion pointed at Guilliman and asked.
Guilliman spread his hands. "I know what happened on Caliban and you don't. This is a manifestation."
Ryan was silent for a few seconds, and Angron sensed his confusion. When he spoke again, he did not continue to argue, but just signaled Qin Xia that he could send him out of the illusion.
"The First Legion will never get involved in such a ridiculous thing." Ryan said firmly as his body gradually weakened.
"I don't think so." Qin Xia said.
Ryan's body became extremely weak and he was completely out of the illusion.
"There are still several brothers who have not arrived for this meeting." Guilliman looked at Horus and said.
Horus was fighting in the Great Crusade alongside the few remaining brothers who had not arrived, or were close by...except Alpha.
"Mortarion?" Horus said. "He is the most indifferent man. It makes no difference whether he is summoned or not."
"And Lorgar?" said Fulgrim.
Lorgar Aurelion.
The future founder of the Empire's state religion and founder of the Faith in the God-Emperor.
After Fulgrim mentioned Lorgar, Horus was silent for a moment, then said to his brothers, "I will go and try to win over Mortarion."
The Primarchs nodded, but held out no hope of Mortarion's joining them.
Lorgar Aurelion could not join because he was in conflict with the Imperial Truth. Horus, a Primarch who had a good relationship with the Emperor, knew that the Emperor hated Lorgar's religious behavior and thought it would be better for him not to come.
Otherwise, if we consider it purely from the perspective of strength, it would be a pity if Lorgar did not join... The world ruled by Lorgar's Legion is very stable, and the probability of rebellion after being ruled is extremely low. If the locals believe in the Emperor honestly, then they will also be properly managed, so Lorgar and the Legion have a good reputation.
"What do we do next?" asked Fulgrim.
"Anyway, we are not going to rush all the way to the Terra Palace to find the Emperor." Qin Xia said, "We need to make use of Dawn Star, just like the Empire and the Mechanicus, so I suggest that you deploy a small number of soldiers in the Legion to Dawn Star, and leave the rest to me. I will be on Dawn Star."
All the Primarchs agreed.
Qin Xia dispelled the illusion and began to make further preparations for the Dawn Star conflict incident.
