Warhammer: Angron Training Manual
Chapter 485 Angel Advent Event
Chapter 485 Angel Advent Event
The Word Bearers flagship.
The Emperor looked down at the planet Kuer and gave a slight flick of the hand that was holding down.
The vast psychic energy poured into the real universe from the Warp, causing waves in the world according to the Emperor's will.
Thick clouds surrounded the place where the spear of light landed, and the clouds looked like a typhoon on the weather map.
After the Emperor projected his psychic energy, the clouds dissipated in an instant and the sky became extremely clear.
There was a burst of flying sand and rocks where the Word Bearer and Lorgar were kneeling, followed by a violent storm carrying sand and rocks.
Strong air currents whistled around every Space Marine, causing them to tremble constantly.
The Emperor merely had a thought and flicked his hand, creating a gust of wind that changed the weather conditions and imposed another layer of hardship on the kneeling Word Bearers in addition to the heavy pressure.
"Almost got it."
Inside the command deck, Angron's holographic image had not yet dissipated, staring at the Emperor's back.
Hearing his son's dissatisfied words, the emperor slowly turned around and said: "This is a lesson."
"What's the lesson?" Angron came to the porthole and pointed at Kul. "You keep denying that you are a god, and then you use your psychic powers to act like miracles. If I didn't know why you hate faith like Lorgar does, I would really think you are a hypocrite."
"Strength is innate." The Emperor said calmly, "My psychic power also has a source, and it cannot be explained by such foolish lies as miracles."
Angron raised his hand to signal the Emperor to listen to him first. "So why can't you just stand here, with Lorgar and the Word Bearers in the fleet, and watch the Perfect City being blown to pieces by the Light Spear?"
"Instead of forcing them to go to a place not far from the edge of the Perfect City, and then using your psychic power to bring their entire army to their knees, letting them survive the light spear bombardment, and then using your psychic power to create a storm..."
Angron pointed at Kul outside the porthole and asked in a deep voice, "Are you secretly feeling extremely happy? I am the Lord of Humanity, the living true God, and I can bring an entire army to its knees with just one psychic power..."
"Be silent," said the Emperor. "I did not force you to destroy the Perfect City. Do not vent your dissatisfaction on me after you have done this."
After saying this, the Emperor seemed to feel that this was indeed inappropriate. After a brief silence, he added: "You know about the Black King, and your nature should make you the person who understands me the most. But every time I need you to understand my actions, you always disappoint me as expected."
"Why didn't you tell Lorgar about the Black King?" Angron asked.
"Why do you think I should tell him?" the Emperor asked.
Angron frowned.
The Emperor continued, "What do you think Lorgar will do when he learns the truth?"
Angron thought carefully and remained silent. For in an instant he realised what the Emperor was thinking, and he understood.
"So," the Emperor turned and walked out to the command deck, "get ready and take your brothers with you to continue the Great Crusade."
"You want to go back to Terra?"
The emperor remained silent and just walked away slowly.
Angron looked back at Kull.
The Perfect City incident still needs to be dealt with.
……
The White Knight.
Big library.
The think tanks sat on the ground surrounding Angron and Qin Xia.
The meeting held at this time was a secret meeting because it involved the most taboo existence - the devil.
Angron's eyes glowed white, a sign that Qin Xia was sharing his psychic vision.
The think tanks waited in silence for the Father of Genes to observe, while also speculating about the Father of Genes' psychic talents.
The Primarch obviously had psychic powers, and these psychic powers were very strong, but the Primarch could never cast psychic spells like the psykers.
“I see a storm of emotions gathering over the Kull.” The light in Angron’s eyes faded. “It hangs over every place where there are Kull people.”
After hearing this, all the think tanks became serious.
Everyone in the World Eaters Think Tank has studied a course called "Psionic Theory", in which the impact of emotions, an innate relationship between humans and reality, is discussed in detail.
Emotional resonance can greatly weaken the fabric of reality, leading to supernatural events.
And when the level of emotional resonance reaches what the Primarch called an "emotional storm", it would not just be as simple as weakening the structure of reality. It might even open up a channel for the creatures of the subspace to enter the real universe.
"Ask a question." Qin Xia glanced at every think tank present, "What is the probability of a demon appearing on Kuer?"
The veteran think tank staff remained silent, giving the opportunity to answer questions to the newcomers.
Just like in the Battle of Krako, the opportunity to answer questions and receive praise was given to a Caliban think tank.
Acknowledgment is a virtue.
“Ninety percent,” a new think tank replied.
"Why?" Qin Xia said, "There are many places like Kuer where the structure of reality has been greatly weakened in the empire, but there has never been a demon invading reality."
"Because Kuer is a religious world, Guide." The think tank spoke in a calm tone, with a confident expression, and seemed quite knowledgeable. "The locals have the concept of demons in their minds, and our legion is considered to be demons by the locals."
"Very good." Qin Xia smiled and nodded. "From now on, you are the deputy of the director of the Great Library, Tethys, and your title is think tank editor."
"I will do my best to train this young man with potential." Tethys stood up and saluted.
Angron was silent. When he heard that the World Eaters were considered demons by the Kull, some thoughts came to his mind.
According to normal human logic, the World Eaters came to destroy the Perfect City on the orders of the Emperor, but tried their best to ensure that no one died in the destruction. How can such behavior be called a demon?
But according to the logic of the Kur people, the World Eaters destroyed the holy land of the Perfect City, so what creatures in religious texts would choose to destroy holy lands? The answer is the devil. The World Eaters built a new city for the Kur people, and unconditionally fed the Kur people before labor production and trade were restored, and delivered clothes and food to the Kur people every day. This behavior was seen by the Kur people as the temptation of the devil.
The Kurds are a bit ungrateful.
But Angron was not angry, because no matter what the Kulls thought... they were citizens of the Empire.
"We have to act." Qin Xia said to the think tanks, "You will be dispersed to the planet Kuer, on standby in the places most affected by the emotional storm, ready to respond to sudden supernatural events at any time."
The think tanks all stood up and saluted.
Qin Xia looked at his adopted son again.
Angron spoke of those places where, from his perception and observation, the emotional storms were most intense.
……
The surface of Kul.
Erebus walked alone in the city built by the World Eaters.
It was night time, and the World Eaters were on guard duty.
The streets were filled with World Eaters Space Marines, as well as Nuceria mortal soldiers.
Because Angron invited the Word Bearers to join the cleanup phase, Word Bearers Space Marines patrolled alongside the World Eaters.
Just then, a group of Word Bearers came towards him. Erebas subconsciously wanted to say hello, but he saw that those battle brothers just turned their heads and walked past, as if they didn't see him at all.
This situation reminded Erebus that he was now a "criminal man."
Although the Primarch ordered forgiveness and the Lord of the World Eaters also guaranteed it, this could not change the opinions of most people within the Word Bearers Legion.
The fragmentary information most people received told them that it was Erebus who killed the other brothers, and there was no other explanation or answer.
And until Aribati is found and brought to justice, the misunderstanding will never be cleared up.
Erebas also knew this, so he did not force his way over to say hello or explain anything, but just continued walking on the street.
The city looks ordinary and full of formulaic buildings.
Those square metal houses were inhabited by refugees from the Perfect City. The houses were built in the World Devourer's forging engine and dropped directly from low-Earth orbit, becoming houses that could accommodate more than a dozen families.
Although the houses are ugly, at least they are habitable. What else can these homeless refugees ask for at this time?
"Erebus!"
A World Eaters officer walked towards them.
When the other person took off his helmet, revealing a handsome face and a sunny smile, Erebus recognized that he was Kahn.
The two fought side by side many times in the Ullanor War and became friends.
"What are you wearing around your neck?" Kahn pointed at the glowing area on Erebus' neck.
Where the neck seal of the Mark II power armor used to be, there is now a ring-shaped device that is flashing with a faint light.
"Locate." Erebus smiled helplessly and tapped the ring device. "If I try to escape, it will help my battle brothers catch me."
"It seems you've had a hard time after the Invincible Faith incident." Kahn stepped forward, "Why not come to the World Eaters?"
"Are you crazy?" Erebus said with a stern face, "How can there be an Astartes who has left the Legion?"
Kahn snorted.
Only then did Erebus realize that the other party was joking.
The two walked side by side.
"Are you out for a walk?" Kahn asked as they walked.
"No, I came out to monitor whether you treat the Kurds with harsh measures."
"You're not the head of the oversight team anymore, man."
"I know. But I still want to see if there's anything I can do to help."
The two men walked forward while talking, and just as Kahn was about to respond, he suddenly heard a commotion.
They quickened their pace and, after turning the corner, saw a group of Nuceria soldiers and World Eaters Space Marines aiming their guns at the large number of civilians gathered in front of them.
There were several bodies of Nuceria soldiers on the ground.
However, the gathered civilians did not seem to be resisting. Instead, they turned their backs to the Space Marines and mortal soldiers, kneeling on the street and worshiping some kind of existence.
When Kahn's eyes fell on the farthest point, he realized that the battle brothers and soldiers were not targeting the group of mortals, but...
"Angel?" Kahn looked ahead.
He saw a man with wings on his back being worshipped by the common people. This man was very handsome and wore exquisite and slim-fitting armor.
Kahn is not a religious person, but if he were asked to describe that person, the only word that comes to his mind is "angel".
"Angel? Why do you think it was an angel?"
However, Erebus, a religious believer, raised questions.
He didn't understand how Kahn could regard a blue-looking upright bird with wings on its back as an angel.
