Chapter 383 Someone called the police.

Su Hanze nodded slightly, picked up the beer on the table, pretended to take a sip, but his gaze never left the three men. Ah Long and his group went straight to the bar, said a few words to the bartender, grabbed a few bottles of beer, and headed towards a door at the back of the bar.

"What's behind that door?" Su Hanze asked in a low voice.

“The private room,” Yu Xi replied. “They always talk business there.”

Su Hanze narrowed his eyes, thought for a moment, then turned to Abiao and said, "You stay here and keep watch, I'll go take a look."

Ah Biao grabbed him: "Are you crazy? You're all alone, going in is just asking for death!"

"Don't worry, I know what I'm doing." Su Hanze patted his hand, stood up, and walked towards the private room.

Yu Xi frowned and whispered, "Are you really going alone?"

Su Hanze didn't answer, but simply nodded at her, pushed open the door to the private room, and went inside.

The private room was even dimmer, with only a few wall lamps casting a faint glow. Ah Long and two of his men sat around a round table, which was littered with beer bottles and ashtrays. Ah Long lit a cigarette, exhaled a smoke ring, and said with a smile to the man next to him, "This shipment is top-notch. Boss Huang has already said that as long as it's shipped out smoothly, we'll all get a big share by the end of the year."

Su Hanze stood at the door, leaning against the wall, trying to blend into the shadows. The door to the private room wasn't closed tightly, and he could clearly hear the conversation inside.

One of his men asked, "Brother Long, is this shipment really that valuable?"

"Nonsense." Ah Long glared at him. "Old Ghost said this batch of goods came from South America, and the purity is frighteningly high. Boss Huang has already contacted buyers outside. As long as the goods are in hand, money will not be a problem."

Another subordinate chuckled: "So when do we make our move?"

"What's the rush?" Ah Long picked up his wine glass and took a big gulp. "Boss Huang is still arranging the boat, probably the day after tomorrow night. The dock has been taken care of, the cops won't cause any trouble."

Su Hanze's heart skipped a beat as he listened. South American goods, high purity, port transactions—this information was enough for him to get a feel for Lao Gui's connections. Just as he was about to leave, a low shout came from behind him: "Who's there?"

He turned around abruptly and found a man who looked like a bartender standing in the doorway, holding a fruit knife and staring at him warily.

Su Hanze remained calm and smiled, "Brother, you've come to the wrong place. I thought this was the restroom."

The bartender frowned and looked him up and down: "The toilet is over there, get lost."

"Okay, okay." Su Hanze raised his hands, pretending to be indifferent, and turned to walk out. He had only taken a few steps when he heard Ah Long's voice from inside the private room: "Hey, third brother, go see what kind of background that kid has."

Su Hanze quickened his pace and returned to the booth. Yu Xi and Abiao had both stood up, their expressions not very good.

"What's wrong?" Yu Xi asked in a low voice.

"We've been discovered," Su Hanze said in a low voice. "Let's go, let's get out of here first."

The three quickly left the bar and disappeared into a nearby alley. Just as they rounded a corner, they heard hurried footsteps behind them. Su Hanze turned around and saw two burly men chasing after them, each holding a short knife.

"Damn it!" Ah Biao cursed. "I knew this woman was unreliable!"

"Stop talking nonsense!" Su Hanze grabbed him and ran deeper into the alley. Yu Xi followed behind, her breathing a little rapid, but her pace didn't slow down.

The alley twisted and turned, and the three ran for a full five minutes before finally shaking off their pursuers. They stopped beside an abandoned parking lot, panting heavily. Su Hanze leaned against the wall, wiped the sweat from his brow, and turned to look at Yu Xi: "You didn't say the bartender was one of their men too."

Yu Xi bit her lip, her eyes filled with complicated emotions: "I don't know... Old Ghost has more and more people, it's impossible for me to know them all."

Ah Biao snorted coldly: "Now look what happened, he almost got hacked to death."

Su Hanze waved his hand, signaling him to calm down. He looked at Yu Xi and said calmly, "You heard them, they have a deal the day after tomorrow. Do you know where that dock is?"

Yu Xi hesitated for a moment, then nodded: "I know. But are you really going? That place is no joke."

“Even if I don’t go, Old Ghost won’t let me off the hook.” Su Hanze smiled, but his gaze was as cold as a knife. “You lead the way, I’ll handle it.”

Yu Xi looked at him, a complex emotion in her eyes: "Okay. But you have to promise me that you'll take me away after it's done."

“Deal.” Su Hanze extended his hand, and Yu Xi hesitated for a moment before grasping it.

Ah Biao frowned and whispered, "Sang Ze, do you really believe her?"

Su Hanze didn't answer, but patted Abiao on the shoulder: "Go back and get your gear ready. We're going to pull off something big the night after tomorrow."

The next morning, Su Hanze stood by the window, gazing at the gradually brightening sky, but his heart remained heavy. He knew things had become even more complicated. The perilous situation at the bar yesterday felt like a harbinger; every clue pointed to the vast network behind Lao Gui, and he, too, had been dragged into this bottomless vortex.

Ah Biao returned to his residence and busied himself organizing his equipment, while Su Hanze sipped black coffee, replaying the events of the previous night in his mind. The transaction, the goods involved, the people, even every single detail, all weighed heavily on his mind. Huang Dexing's name kept swirling in his head; that hidden commercial empire beneath the surface was probably far larger than he had imagined.

Yu Xi's appearance seemed to inject more uncertainty into this game. She said she knew the location of the dock, but whether it was old feelings or new grudges, Su Hanze wasn't entirely sure. She seemed fragile, but her ability to survive in this environment must have given her some strength. Her request—"Take me away"—made him hesitate, but regardless, there was no turning back now.

He glanced at his watch, saw it was getting late, suppressed his thoughts, and prepared to leave. Ah Biao had already arranged everything; today they needed to confirm the details of the transaction to prepare for their operation the day after tomorrow.

"Do you think that woman is trustworthy?" A-Biao suddenly spoke up in the car, breaking the silence.

“She knows more than she appears to,” Su Hanze said calmly. “If she wanted to deceive me, she would have used us long ago.”

Ah Biao was silent for a while, still somewhat disbelieving: "You really think so?"

"Time will tell." Su Hanze didn't want to say anything more. He knew that A Biao still had reservations about Yu Xi, but that issue was no longer important. The car drove into the bustling city center, heading towards the designated warehouse district. The city still looked somewhat dilapidated under the morning light, especially the areas near the docks, where dust and fog mingled, like a damp backdrop that would never dry.

Their destination was a seemingly inconspicuous small warehouse, but it was the key node for all smuggling transactions. Su Hanze had learned through several channels that the transaction was about to take place tonight, and this time, his and Abiao's goal was not only to seize evidence of the transaction, but also to take action directly at the most opportune moment.

Upon arrival, several inconspicuous cars were already parked around the warehouse. Su Hanze got out, his gaze sharp as a knife, scanning the surroundings. A Biao followed closely behind, whispering, "There might be more than one deal tonight. Old Ghost's actions are more complicated than we thought."

"I know," Su Hanze said calmly. "Everything is proceeding according to plan."

He tidied his equipment, checking his pistol and knives. Although everything was ready, he couldn't help feeling a little nervous. This wasn't just a simple transaction; it was more like a deadly gamble. And his opponent was the core force of the entire Hong Kong underworld.

Yu Xi arrived quickly. She didn't say much, just kept her head down, looking somewhat anxious. She walked to Su Hanze's side and said softly, "They're not in the warehouse. They're in an old building next door. But that place is heavily guarded. You can get in, but it's hard to get out."

"Don't worry, leave the rest to me." Su Hanze glanced at her, his tone gentle but his eyes unwavering.

"Can you really guarantee safety?" Yu Xi suddenly looked up, her eyes filled with doubt.

"I guarantee you'll get out of here safely." Su Hanze's voice was low, but full of strength.

Before he finished speaking, Abiao walked over and whispered, "Sangze, time is running out."

The three of them said nothing more and quickly disappeared into the night.

As night fell, the area around the warehouse grew increasingly quiet. The streetlights on both sides of the street cast a dim yellow glow, illuminating the deserted alleyways. Su Hanze and Abiao quietly approached the old building along an inconspicuous alley. Yu Xi followed, and although she still seemed somewhat nervous, her expression grew increasingly resolute with each step.

Upon reaching the back of the old building, Su Hanze quickly took out a simple communication device from his bag and whispered to Abiao, "Once it starts, remember to cover me."

"Understood," Abiao replied, appearing extremely calm.

They bypassed the side door of the old building and stealthily approached the window. Su Hanze gently pressed the doorknob next to the window, turned it slightly, and the door opened. The room was pitch black, with only faint neon light filtering in from outside. They quietly advanced along the narrow corridor until they reached the end, when suddenly a few whispers came from one of the rooms.

Su Hanze's eyes sharpened. He gestured for Abiao to stop, then held his breath and crept towards the room. Inside were A Long and his men. Through the crack in the door, Su Hanze could see A Long talking to a strange man.

"Has the goods arrived?" Ah Long asked in a low voice.

"We've arrived," the stranger replied. "Are you ready?"

"Ready? We'll make our move tomorrow night." Ah Long grinned. "You guys take care of things; we'll just deliver it to them."

This conversation made Su Hanze's heart race. He quickly lowered his head and whispered, "A-Biao, get ready."

A-Biao nodded, a cold glint flashing in his eyes.

"Get out," Su Hanze commanded. As soon as he finished speaking, he pushed open the door and rushed inside.

The moment Su Hanze rushed into the room, he acted almost without hesitation. His movements were swift; he lunged at the two thugs standing by the table, knocking them to the ground almost instantly. A Biao followed closely behind, quickly drawing a dagger and standing guard at the doorway.

Both Ah Long and the stranger froze for a moment, clearly not expecting anyone to break through their defenses so quickly. Ah Long's hand instantly reached for his waist, but Su Hanze was faster, his eyes widening as he shot Ah Long a cold laugh: "No need to waste time."

Ah Long's hand froze instantly, a ruthless glint in his eyes. He forced a smile, his tone icy: "How did you get in?"

"You're not worthy to know," Su Hanze said dismissively, turning his gaze to the stranger and coldly asking, "Where's the goods?"

The stranger looked flustered, seemingly not expecting to be dealt with so directly. He tried to move, but Ah Biao stared at him coldly, his eyes filled with murderous intent, the intense pressure making him dare not make a move.

"If you dare to move, I'll give you a chance to never move again," Ah Biao threatened in a low voice, the tip of the knife already lightly rubbing against the man's neck, heading straight for the artery.

"No, don't move!" The stranger immediately stopped, his heart pounding, and he lowered his head, not daring to look directly at Su Hanze.

Su Hanze nodded, signaling Abiao to relax his guard for the time being, and then turned his attention back to A Long: "Where is the goods? We don't want to waste our time."

Ah Long's expression changed; he clearly realized the situation was far worse than he had anticipated. After a few seconds of silence, he finally spoke: "If you want to live, you'd better leave quickly. What you're doing now is violating the rules."

"Rules?" Su Hanze smiled, a mocking glint in his eyes. "You think you still have control of the situation? Didn't you see that the people around you have already been taken care of by us?"

"Do you think you can threaten me like this?" A fierce glint flashed in Ah Long's eyes. "Let me tell you, Old Ghost has a lot of people behind him. You won't get away from us so easily."

A cold glint flashed in Su Hanze's eyes: "Then let's give it a try."

Just then, several hurried footsteps suddenly came from outside the room. Su Hanze heard the sound, his eyelids twitched slightly, and he immediately signaled to Abiao to be on alert.

"This is bad." Ah Biao frowned and whispered, "It seems someone has called the police."

"It's alright, take the men and retreat." Su Hanze calmly commanded, his voice calm but his eyes revealing an undeniable decisiveness.

Ah Biao nodded, then quickly approached the stranger and practically shoved him next to Su Hanze. Su Hanze glanced at him, then turned to Ah Long and sneered, "Since you're so ungrateful, then forget it."

He kicked the door open, and the three of them quickly fled the room. Several figures were already visible in the alleyway outside, clearly indicating that someone had noticed something amiss. Su Hanze's eyes turned icy cold in an instant; he knew he had to get out of there quickly.

"This way." He pulled Ah Biao and the stranger along a narrow alley, quickly retreating. Just as they reached the depths of the alley, a car stopped in front of them. The window rolled down, revealing Yu Xi's tense face.
