Agares, who was below, clearly heard Constantine's taunts and let out a furious roar.
Unfortunately, no matter how much noise he made, he couldn't spare the attention to deal with the two humans at the wellhead.
Agares couldn't understand what was going on either. Why was he, a high-ranking demon, being forced to run around aimlessly by a human spell?
But Agares instinctively didn't want to take the hit head-on.
Agares was born of hellfire and is naturally immune to fire.
That's how it should be.
But the instant the fireball appeared, Agares felt a scorching heat, and that scorching sensation was eroding his body.
Agares was screaming subconsciously that he must not be touched by this giant fireball, or he would be burned to ashes!
Agares' idea was that the terrain below the well was relatively wide, and since the fireball had a tracking effect, Agares had a way to make it crash into the wall.
This was the original plan.
Agares did the same.
But he soon discovered that this huge fireball was even more sensitive than he had imagined.
No matter what method he used, the giant fireball would always twist back just before hitting the wall and attack him again.
Agares' patience was wearing thin, and he didn't want to waste any more time.
Even though he tried to delay the fireball and exhaust its immense power, he could now sense that the massive fireball showed no signs of diminishing.
If left unchecked, he will be the first to be exhausted.
Agares leaped forward and stopped at the furthest point from the giant fireball.
His face was grim as he stared at the massive fireball hurtling towards him, gathering all his strength and condensing the black aura he had just released into one.
Agares let out a low growl and hurled the condensed black energy toward the giant fireball.
In Agares's imagination, the black aura that gathered all his power would definitely be able to neutralize that huge fireball.
He didn't want to use it at first, intending to save some strength to deal with other potential opponents.
But now he realizes that if he doesn't fight with all his might, he might not even be able to leave the monastery alive!
Agares had already planned that even if he was using all his strength to deal with the strange fireball now, he could kill the two humans at the wellhead with just a little effort later.
After a short rest, he can continue his plan to destroy the world.
Of course, that's how Agares imagined it.
But the truth left Agares dumbfounded.
The black aura coalesced into a large sphere, which crashed violently into the surging fireball.
Almost instantly, the black aura was struck by the giant fireball, which instantly dispersed the black aura. The giant fireball, however, was completely unaffected and instead rushed toward Agares at an even faster speed.
Agares stood there stunned, never expecting this outcome. His face turned pale as he tried to turn and run away, but having exhausted all his strength, he could no longer escape the giant fireball.
Amidst Agares's agonizing screams, a massive fireball completely enveloped him, leaving him with no chance of escape.
Soon, Agares's piercing screams completely disappeared, and the well returned to deathly silence.
Constantine peered down and said, "That's it? I can't sense Agares' presence anymore."
Lin Bei nodded slightly: "That's right, it was resolved so easily. Alright, alright, it's time to go. There's no point in staying here any longer."
Constantine shrugged and lit another cigarette. "Alright, let's go, let's get out of this godforsaken place. There's not even a decent meal. I don't know how these monks have survived."
Lin Bei put his hands behind his back and walked out of the monastery one after the other with Constantine.
Their car was parked not far from the monastery; you could see it under the shade of the trees as soon as you walked near the gate.
Before crossing the gate, Constantine yawned lazily: "Before heading to the next location, let's find a hotel in a nearby town to rest. I'm tired..."
Hearing Constantine's words, Lin Bei coldly sneered: "Hey, hey, hey, what did you do the whole time? Besides following me around complaining, you didn't do anything in the end..."
Neither Constantine nor Lin Bei finished speaking.
The moment Lin Bei stepped out of the monastery, everything went black.
Darkness instantly engulfed everything around them, including Constantine who was walking in front of Lin Bei.
Lin Bei felt a strange but harmless force enveloping him, isolating him from the world.
Lin Bei raised an eyebrow, but instead of tearing the power apart directly, he muttered to himself curiously, "Strange, this feeling is very similar to when I went to another world. Could it be that some mechanism has been triggered to forcibly teleport me away from this world?"
That would be a bit of a shame, since it's hard to find a follower who satisfies me... Hmm? It seems we've arrived in another place.
Just as Lin Bei was wondering what would happen, the darkness in front of him gradually dissipated until an unfamiliar scene appeared before him.
Lin Bei looked around and recognized where he was.
Isn't this in the Western world of terror?
How did we end up in Japan?
And it's nighttime now, and there's no one around.
Just as Lin Bei was looking around curiously, a familiar, lazy voice came from behind him: "Hey Lin Bei, did you do this? Where did you take me?"
Lin Bei was taken aback. He turned his head and saw Constantine standing not far from him, a cigarette dangling from his mouth, lazily blowing smoke rings.
Lin Bei shook his head slightly: "It wasn't me, but I can sense where this power is coming from. Putting that aside for now, I can tell you that we've arrived in an interesting country."
Constantine was taken aback: "An interesting country?"
Lin Bei smiled slightly and did not continue speaking.
He already knew where he was.
Alice in the Land of the Dying.
This is a country completely independent of the human world. Humans selected to enter this country must complete various challenges and games to obtain a visa in order to survive in this country.
The games all seem simple, but they are all tied to life and death. Losing a game or quitting halfway through will result in being wiped out by the country.
Of course, everyone's visa validity period is different, and if the visa expires, the person will be directly banned by the country.
In "Alice in the Land of the Dying," the protagonist is an idle high school senior who, by chance, enters the Land of the Dying with two friends and is forced to participate in a game.
After experiencing the successive deaths of his friends and being saved by the female protagonist, the male protagonist finally rallies and joins forces with her to try and unravel the secrets of the Land of the Dying through various games. Lin Bei never expected that this sudden, mysterious force would send him and Constantine to the Land of the Dying.
After all, according to the original plot, one can only come to the Land of the Dying if they are on the verge of death.
Lin Bei didn't believe he was on the verge of death.
He moved his wrists, and after sensing that the power within his body was still there, he glanced around and noticed that a building in the distance had its lights on.
He gestured with his chin toward Constantine: "Come on, let's play some games."
Constantine still looked bewildered: "What's going on? I haven't figured out the situation yet, and you want me to go play games with you? Aren't we supposed to be exorcising demons? How come we have time to play games?"
Lin Bei led the way toward the building with light: "Don't ask too many questions, just follow me. Think of this as a fourth space outside of the human world, heaven, and hell. If you want to leave here, you have to play various games."
Constantine curled his lip in disgust, but still followed Lin Bei: "Games, games. We're all adults, why are we playing games? I want to see how fun this game is."
Lin Bei and Constantine walked slowly along the street. Lin Bei thought it was too slow, so he grabbed Constantine by the back of his collar, leaped up, and flew lightly towards the building with light.
Once Lin Bei landed easily, he put Constantine down and saw a countdown timer on the building.
Two minutes left in the countdown.
Lin Bei smiled slightly: "Finally made it. Let's hurry in to Constantine. This game is quite fun."
Constantine scratched his head, sighed silently, and followed Lin Bei into the building.
Just as Constantine and Lin Bei stepped into the building, infrared beams blocked the entrance, and a sweet voice rang out from inside.
"Registration for the game has ended. The difficulty level for this game is 'Five of Spades,' and the game name is 'Tag.'"
There's a 20-minute timed bomb inside the building. Players must evade the 'ghosts' and find a safe house within the time limit. Inside the house is a button; pressing it prevents the explosion to complete the level. Have fun!
After the sweet voice finished speaking, everyone at the building entrance looked around blankly.
Lin Bei picked up the only two cell phones on the small table and handed one to Constantine.
Lin Bei silently surveyed the people present; this stage was crucial in the original storyline.
Several important figures will all make an appearance.
Needless to say, the male lead, Ryohei Arisu, is definitely there, as is the female lead, Yuzuha Uzaki.
The White-haired Lemon House, the seemingly powerful Chestnut Country, and others are all there.
Lin Bei subtly glanced at the group and noticed that they were also secretly observing him and Constantine.
Lin Bei glanced at Constantine from the side. Although he also had black hair, his features were very Western, which explained why these people were looking at him with such curiosity.
Lin Bei put away his phone and calmly reminded them, "The countdown has begun. The 'ghosts' have been dispatched to capture people. Do you still want to stay here?"
Reminded by Lin Bei, everyone panicked and ran upstairs like startled birds.
Lin Bei walked towards Arisu Ryohei, who was frowning and still out of sorts, and said with a smile, "You absolutely mustn't die here."
After saying that, he strode upstairs.
Constantine raised an eyebrow, finding it rare to see Lin Bei interested in other people. He paid more attention to Arisu Ryohei but couldn't see anything wrong with him, so he shrugged and followed Lin Bei upstairs.
Once they reached the seventh floor in the elevator, Constantine leaned against the railing, looking bored, and said to Lin Bei, "This is the game you were talking about? Why should we participate in a game for little kids like this?"
Lin Bei flipped over and sat on the railing, where he could overlook all the floors below: "What's the rush? There's something good to see later."
Just as he finished speaking, footsteps approached, followed by a detached voice: "Eh? So someone else has the same idea as me. But why don't you go further in? You can only see all the floors below clearly from that spot."
Lin Bei turned his head and smiled, waving at Juwu: "Of course it's for you. I knew you would come here."
Juwu raised an eyebrow slightly, said nothing, and walked past Constantine and Linbei to the best observation point.
The three of them stared silently down below, and soon the elevator started moving again.
All the players below tensed up, and Lin Bei chuckled: "The ghost is here."
"Ding--"
The elevator doors opened, facing the corridor. There were still people on this floor who hadn't taken cover when two loud gunshots shattered the silence. The players in the corridor didn't have time to dodge and were shot dead.
The gunshot seemed to tighten everyone's nerves. The remaining players looked panicked and began to move around constantly, afraid of encountering the "ghost".
Juwu watched all this with a blank expression. He glanced at Lin Bei and kindly reminded him, "Hey, sitting like that, aren't you afraid that 'ghosts' will shoot at you? You're a sitting duck, every shot will hit you."
Before Lin Bei could speak, Constantine, who was silently smoking to the side, sneered, "That 'ghost' had better shoot at Lin Bei. That way, the game will end immediately. Don't you think so, Lin Bei?"
Lin Bei smiled but didn't say anything.
Constantine continued lazily, "Now I know why you said it's fun. You're playing with your life on the line, a one-life speedrun, right? Either you die in the game or you beat it. But this game doesn't require any brainpower, it's quite simple."
Lin Bei yawned: "You should use your brain, otherwise it'll just be stuffed with cigarette ash."
Constantine angrily gave Lin Bei the middle finger. Just then, Arisu Ryohei's voice echoed throughout the building: "Everyone, let's report the location of the 'ghost' to each other. Only by finding the safe house and pressing the button inside can we pass through together!"
Constantine raised an eyebrow: "That's a good idea, but not everyone will agree with his approach."
Lin Bei smiled but didn't say anything.
As the gunfire intensified, the number of players decreased dramatically.
Lin Bei turned to look at Juwu: "Did you understand? Do you know how to clear the game?"
Juwu looked at Lin Bei expressionlessly: "You're asking me? You clearly have the ability to clear the game, how dare you ask me?"
Lin Bei chuckled; he knew that Juwu had been observing and scrutinizing him.
He didn't say anything. After seeing that there were only a few key figures left alive, he stretched his arms and said calmly, "Alright, it's about time. I'll finish the game. After all, I don't like to finish the game at the last second."
Lin Bei always keeps his word.
Constantine waved to him: "Good luck, I'm waiting for your good news."
Juwu looked at him with distrust: "You think it's over just like that? Do you even care about your own life? This is a game where you risk your life."
Constantine exhaled a smoke ring and smiled lazily: "Kid, watch your mouth. Do you know what we came here for? If Lin Bei is willing to make a move at this time, it's your honor." (End of Chapter)
