Chapter 657 The King of the Past
Yu Xia thought of her father in her memories of Earth. Whether this illusion was just an illusion or her father had actually participated in it, she didn't know.

Is her father still alive? Will she be able to see him if she goes to the ocean?
Yu Xia looked at the tall Ocean Lord Apesius in the main hall. He seemed to have aged more than when she first entered Farrell's memories.

Even though his face had no wrinkles, she could still sense the aura of old age and decay emanating from him.

He, like this underwater palace, is like an ancient relic.

Apesius's gaze swept over the young sea creatures in the hall, lingering on a few of the boys.

Yu Xia followed his gaze and saw several unfamiliar faces besides Farrell and Selius, but without exception, they were all among the most outstanding.

Yu Xia was surprised to see a familiar face among these teenagers.

With long, pinkish-purple hair and an exquisitely beautiful face, her teenage appearance was even more androgynous than her adult appearance; she was stunningly beautiful.

He was the latest exile to join Apesius's forces.

Exiles are the name given to all the sea creatures in this sea area.

Generally, young sea creatures like these are either driven or flee here along with other members of their tribe, or they are born in this sea area.

Compared to the aloofness and coldness of Serius and Farrell, Huanmeng quickly became acquainted with almost everyone except the two of them, and they got along quite well.

However, ever since Farrell appeared in his memories, Yu Xia has noticed that this lifeless palace has become filled with murderous intent.

These young sea creatures fought more frequently than before, and their aggression was stronger. They often started arguing for no apparent reason, and their fights were more ferocious.

She saw Huanmeng standing aside several times, her posture relaxed, a faint smile on her lips, like an outsider watching the struggle.

Yu Xia thought to herself, "He must have done something underhanded. This wicked jellyfish has been wicked since it was a baby."

Huanmeng also tried to communicate with Farrell, but Farrell always simply and bluntly said, "Get lost."

Serius didn't let the dream roll away; instead, he was in a trance-like state.

Huanmeng said a lot, and Serius would only give a non-answer or look at him with a strange expression.

Seeing Selius's expression, Yu Xia guessed that Selius was probably having a conversation with himself in his mind, and maybe even cursing Huanmeng.

Over time, Yu Xia saw a similar angry expression on Huanmeng's face as Farrell's. Although she didn't seem to understand, she could still provoke him. Yu Xia wanted to laugh a little.

Serius is a magical little octopus.

Farrell and Selius are two tough rocks to crack for Dream.

Huanmeng did not give up, and one day he finally found an opportunity.

“I saw Selius go to the ruins.”

On a rare day of peace and tranquility, Huanmeng casually stirred up trouble: "It seems that he did not obtain the king's consent."

Ruins? Yu Xia looked at Farewell's cold and stern expression; was it a very important place?

After hearing Huanmeng's words, Farrell swam swiftly towards a certain part of the ocean without any hesitation.

After passing a coral reef and a group of collapsed buildings, Yu Xia saw a golden light emanating from not far away.

The soft golden light was encased in a hemispherical membrane, which isolated the seawater and also locked some kind of energy within it.

That was a golden tree.

Yu Xia stared in shock at the scene before her. Why would a golden tree appear on the seabed?! Yu Xia wanted to go forward and investigate, but the scene shifted, and she reappeared in Apesius's palace.

Unlike the usual solemn atmosphere, the main hall was noisy, with everyone's faces showing extreme anger, and a heavy killing intent lingering in the air.

"Selius, you traitor!"

"How dare you wound the king!"

Yu Xia's gaze swept over the angry crowd and landed on the blue figure in the middle of the hall.

Serius held a trident and aimed it at Apesius.

Apesius's chest was stained with blood, and blood trickled from the corner of his mouth; his long hair had turned almost completely white.

“You shouldn’t have made your move at this time.” Apesius coughed, looking at Serius with a cold gaze, without resentment or blame, but with a sense of helplessness.

Unlike his usual lazy self, Selius was fully focused in the face of his powerful opponent. He was like a sharp blade drawn from its sheath, and his powerful aura made the surrounding sea creatures dare not approach him for a moment.

“Old man, you’ve lived long enough.” Serius twirled the trident in his hand, bringing the tip closer to Apesius. “After I kill you, I’ll go and kill that useless sea lord.”

The surrounding sea creatures, armed with weapons, were on guard against any potential attack from Serius.

“I’ve lived this long for that day, Serius. You shouldn’t have done this.” Apesius’s expression was calm, but he exuded a powerful aura of authority. His aged eyes sharpened. “Do you understand what kind of situation you’re putting her in?”

Serius paused, his grip on the trident tightening and loosening. He thrust forward, the tip almost piercing Apesius's throat. "I don't want to kill you, but you deserve to die. For your own selfish desires, you have lingered on until now, and have long since lost the right to be king."

Yu Xia's heart clenched instantly when she saw Selius pointing a weapon at her father.

What is Celius going to do? Is he really going to kill Apesius?
Or has he already killed him?

“You’re right,” Apesius said. “The ocean cannot hold two kings, so I am here. This endless sea is my place of exile. I am no longer king, nor are you, and you all.”

Apesius's gaze swept over the young sea creatures in the hall. "They are all qualified to be kings, but the time has not yet come."

Serius said with a serious expression, "It's no use saying anything. I won't let you live to see that day."

As soon as he finished speaking, Farrell and the others attacked.

Serius swung his trident with force, and a powerful burst of energy from his body blasted them away.

Then, without hesitation, he stabbed at Apesius.

Yu Xia's breath hitched. She raised her hand. "No, Selius, don't do this!"
“King versus king,” Apesius said without blinking.

Serius halted the attack.

Apesius: "Go, Celius, become the true king, and then challenge me. Only then will your position be truly rightful."

Selius frowned slightly, hesitating.

If we don't kill him at this moment...
“Young man,” Apesius said, “do not do anything you will regret. This is my advice to you. I am her father.”

Serius took a slow breath, lowered his eyes, and muttered under his breath, "That wretched old man is threatening us."

After saying that, he raised his eyelashes and pulled his hand back slightly. "Former king, your life is mine to take. Just you wait."

I was sick and rested for a few days, sorry to have kept you waiting~ Regular updates are back!
