Chapter 547 Legacy and Shattering

The universe doesn't have enough mass.

Thus came the final outcome of this long, 6,660-year-long apocalypse.

The enormous phantom slowly retreated into the darkness.

Yu Sheng paused for a moment, and subconsciously took a step to follow into the temple, only to find himself blocked by an invisible barrier—not a solid wall, but a curtain as soft as the wind, yet impossible to penetrate.

The "tower" is one of the important cultural symbols of this civilization. It originated from the awe and fear of the sky by the ancient people. People who were always worried about the collapse of the sky built towers on the earth in the hope that they could support the collapsing sky on the day of the end of the world and preserve a place for civilization to survive.

Even though scientific advancements have made later generations realize the futility of such efforts, the devout still built magnificent towers in the holy city surrounding the temple.

Yu Sheng thought that perhaps this was what the Goddess of Omens had exchanged for "Blonde Irene" at the cost of herself—a memory of her homeland, a story about her and her people.

Everything about the Dark Angels is tainted with alarming corruption, especially the knowledge they carry. Clearly, the price to pay for these stories to have a "preservation space" is not cheap.

The surrounding scenery began to shake. At first, it was just a visual tremor, but it quickly developed into a massive earthquake.

The city at the foot of the mountain collapsed, the earth was torn open with bottomless cracks, boulders rolled down the mountain, and the temple and the mountain began to rapidly turn into countless viscous shadows, flowing down the hillside towards the city. Yu Sheng suddenly lost his balance and fell to the side. Before he could touch the ground, he felt a void beneath him, and then everything in his sight disappeared.

A thought struck him, and he subconsciously turned his head to look in the direction where the temple had stood.

A chaotic mist shrouded everything, and a towering black tower stood in the endless space. The tower was broken in many places, but the cracks, large and small, shone with a strong light, as if they were rapidly healing each other.

Below the tower lies a distant and blurry city, which looks vaguely familiar.

Yu Sheng was startled, but before he could figure out why this "black stone" had ended up in his hands, he saw the surface of the "stone" suddenly light up with fine rays of light. As the light flowed out, it turned into countless cracks, and then the black stone began to disintegrate rapidly in his hands.

"Holy crap!" Yu Sheng was startled. He never expected that the Zolda Black Stone, which had caused so much trouble for everyone, would shatter as soon as it was in his hands. He felt his blood run cold on the spot. "No way! How am I going to explain this when I get back!"

Startled, he didn't care about anything else and pulled out a bloodletting knife made from Luna's fingernails from his pocket. Without hesitation, he cut his hand and frantically grabbed the half-broken black stone while smearing blood on it, trying to use the power of the blood to forcibly fix the thing in place.

Yu Sheng stared blankly at the "core" that remained after the black stone shattered. His first thought was that the shape of the thing after it was broken was obviously not a coincidence, but rather more like... some kind of sophisticated man-made device that had been hidden in the seemingly irregular stone shell from the beginning.

He also noticed that there seemed to be smaller runes on the edge of the cube, which were different from the "ominous runes" on the surface of the black stone, but were difficult to see with the naked eye.

However, he didn't have a chance to examine it closely—a tremendous force suddenly came, and the cube almost slipped from his grasp!
