After saying that, Marici Bodhisattva took out a gold ingot and handed it over. The young man's eyes lit up, and he took the gold and put it away. "Hahaha, it's no problem, it's no problem. You can use this as you please, Master."

The young man turned around and shouted to the workers who were repairing the house, "Take a break for an hour, and I'll treat you to drinks."

Upon hearing this, the workers packed up their tools and followed the young man away with smiles on their faces.

At this moment, the construction site was empty. Marici Bodhisattva stopped and looked at Bai Suzhen, saying, "Bai Suzhen, I entered the Dao some years before you, so I won't talk to you about those great principles. Since you are a disciple of the Old Mother of Lishan, why don't you go to the Lishan Immortal Palace to cultivate, but instead come to the mortal world to form connections with ordinary people?"

Bai Suzhen cupped her hands and said, "Bodhisattva, the Jade Pure Ancestor Zi Yuanjun only left me with a message and did not accept me as his disciple." Bai Suzhen then explained the whole story.

Marici Bodhisattva frowned slightly, temporarily skipping over this point, and asked again: "Since you say that the Old Mother of Lishan has not yet accepted you as her disciple, why don't you cultivate in the mountains to seek enlightenment as soon as possible?"

Bai Suzhen was helpless; she had to explain again, "Bodhisattva, I have already explained to many people that I was guided by Guanyin Bodhisattva."

“No,” Marici Bodhisattva interrupted Bai Suzhen directly, “What you said is wrong.”

Bai Suzhen asked in surprise, "May I ask the Bodhisattva, where did I say something wrong?"

Marici Bodhisattva said, "The Guanyin Bodhisattva who instructed you is not the real Guanyin Bodhisattva. This matter is related to my Buddhist sect, and I will not lie to you. Guanyin Bodhisattva did indeed go into seclusion more than 1,200 years ago and has not emerged from seclusion since."

At this point, Marici Bodhisattva said with a serious expression, "Our Buddhist sect has no reason to lie to you about this matter."

Bai Suzhen froze on the spot. She looked at the expression of Marici Bodhisattva and it did not seem fake. For a moment, she was also somewhat shaken.

Seeing Bai Suzhen waver, Xiaoqing immediately asked Marici Bodhisattva, "Bodhisattva, may I ask you a question?"

Marici Bodhisattva nodded and said, "Ask away."

Xiaoqing asked, "Even if Guanyin Bodhisattva is fake, was the little shepherd boy who saved my sister more than a thousand years ago real? Did Xu Xian in this world actually save my sister 1,800 years ago? Bodhisattva, you have great magical powers, can you clear up my sister's doubts?"

Upon hearing this, Bai Suzhen immediately looked up at Marici Bodhisattva, her eyes filled with trepidation.

If Guanyin Bodhisattva is an imposter, then could the life-saving grace from 1,800 years ago also be fake?
Marici Bodhisattva simply smiled and said, "It is true. Xu Xian did indeed save Bai Suzhen in his previous life."

Bai Suzhen immediately let out a long sigh of relief, and even Xu Xian, who was hiding behind a pile of wooden planks not far away, also breathed a long sigh of relief.

“Since the kindness is real, then regardless of whether the Bodhisattva is real or not, it’s always right to repay the kindness, isn’t it?” Xiaoqing said.

Marici Bodhisattva laughed and said, "You think you are repaying a debt of gratitude, but you are actually harming him."

"What does the Bodhisattva mean by this?" Bai Suzhen asked.

Marici Bodhisattva said, "Xu Xian is just a mortal. If he hadn't met you, would he have gone to the Wu King's mansion to steal treasure? If he hadn't met you, would he have encountered so much trouble? Humans and demons have their own boundaries. He lives in his human world, and you cultivate in your cave. Originally, you were unrelated. Why did you have to cross the boundary and create an unnecessary entanglement, making both of you uncomfortable?"

Bai Suzhen smiled and said, "Bodhisattva, if only you had said these words to me earlier. It's a pity that our ill-fated relationship has already been formed. I must see this path through to the end, no matter what. Otherwise, I would be letting myself down and Xu Xian down as well."

“It would be better for him if you left now,” Marici Bodhisattva said with a smile. “After some time, he will be able to return to the life of an ordinary person. If that doesn’t work, his memory can be erased.”

Bai Suzhen asked, "Bodhisattva, if your memories from birth to enlightenment were erased, could you still achieve perfection?"

Marici Bodhisattva was stunned.

Bai Suzhen continued, "Bodhisattva, the path we have walked cannot be erased, and the people we have met cannot be forgotten. If we try to forcibly erase or forget them, we will never achieve fulfillment."

Marici Bodhisattva put her hands together and said, "Bai Suzhen, you have wisdom, no wonder the Old Mother of Lishan chose you."

“However,” Marici Bodhisattva’s body shone with golden Buddhist light, “I’ve said all I can say is that I don’t care which path you choose, but your burning of Jinshan Temple is a great disrespect to my Buddhist community. If I don’t take you in, how can I explain this to the monasteries of the world?”

Bai Suzhen said, "It was all forced out of me by that monk Fahai. But since the Bodhisattva wants to settle accounts with me, I, Bai Suzhen, am willing to take responsibility for my actions."

After saying this, Bai Suzhen summoned the Nine Heavens Mystic Fire Sword and said to the Bodhisattva Marici, "Bodhisattva, I apologize for my rudeness."

As soon as she finished speaking, Bai Suzhen leaped forward and thrust her sword right in front of Marici Bodhisattva.

Marici Bodhisattva immediately manifested a wrathful form with three faces and eight arms. Each of the eight arms held a precious weapon and attacked together to block the Nine Heavens Mystic Fire Sword.

Each of the three faces of Marici Bodhisattva has three eyes. From each of the nine eyes on the three faces of Marici Bodhisattva, a beam of Buddha light shot out. The Buddha light gathered into a net and fell instantly, directly suppressing Bai Suzhen to the ground.

At the same time, Marici Bodhisattva used her eight arms to exert her divine power, and in a short while, she knocked the Nine Heavens Mystic Fire Sword to the ground.

The Nine Heavens Mystic Fire Sword released the Nine Heavens Mystic Fire, which burned Marici Bodhisattva's body, but Marici Bodhisattva was not afraid at all and allowed the Nine Heavens Mystic Fire to burn her.

Only after the Buddha's light and Dharma net subdued Bai Suzhen did Marici Bodhisattva withdraw her wrathful form and return to her 'celestial maiden form'. Then, she waved her 'celestial fan', and a gentle breeze blew out, instantly extinguishing the Nine Heavens Mystic Fire that was burning her Dharma body.

Seeing her sister being suppressed, Xiaoqing also rushed forward with her Biyun Sword, but Marici Bodhisattva simply raised her hand and pointed, freezing Xiaoqing in place.

Bai Suzhen was unable to break free and was horrified. Xu Xian could no longer hold back and rushed out, calling out, "Wife!"

Xu Xian rushed to Bai Suzhen's side and reached out to remove the magic net, but a bolt of lightning flashed across the net, knocking Xu Xian to the ground, his body emitting smoke.

"My lord!" Bai Suzhen cried out in alarm, "My lord, don't come any closer!" But Xu Xian ignored her and, after trembling, got up again and grabbed at the net. Unsurprisingly, he was knocked to the ground by the lightning once more.

This happened more than ten times. Xu Xian was struck by lightning until he foamed at the mouth and his body was charred black, but he still refused to give up. Even if he had to crawl on the ground, he would crawl to Bai Suzhen's side and then uncover the net of justice.

Bai Suzhen, seeing Xu Xian's face charred and his flesh torn open, wept uncontrollably, "My lord... please don't peel it off anymore."

But Xu Xian still firmly placed his hand on it. Bai Suzhen closed her eyes, unable to bear to watch any longer, but this time she did not hear Xu Xian's scream.

Bai Suzhen hurriedly opened her eyes, only to see that Xu Xian had actually removed the magic net from her body, and then she fainted on the ground.

"My lord!" Bai Suzhen rushed forward and hugged Xu Xian, then looked up at the Bodhisattva Marici.

Marici Bodhisattva looked at Xu Xian with a complicated expression, then sighed slightly and said, "What a tragic fate. Alright, I'll give you one more night to say goodbye to him properly. I'll come and take you away tomorrow morning."

After speaking, Marici Bodhisattva withdrew the Dharma net and then turned and left.

After Marici Bodhisattva left, the spell on Xiaoqing was also lifted. Xiaoqing rushed forward and said, "Sister, quickly take Master Xu back to the pharmacy for treatment."

Bai Suzhen nodded, then picked up Xu Xian and quickly returned to Baoan Hall with Xiaoqing.

"How come you got struck by lightning after only being out for a short while?" Zhuang Yan said with a smile, looking at Xu Xian, who was covered in charred soot.

Bai Suzhen said, "Uncle Zhuang, I know you have profound magical powers, please save my husband."

Zhuang Yan took out a Great Treasure Rejuvenating Pill from his sleeve and had Bai Suzhen feed it to Xu Xian.

Only ten breaths after taking the pill, Xu Xian awoke from his coma, and the electric shock wounds on his body healed rapidly.

"My lord." Bai Suzhen held Xu Xian tightly in her arms. "You're awake."

Xu Xian was stunned for a moment, and asked Xiao Qing blankly, "Qing'er, what do you mean by this?"

Xiaoqing said, "The Bodhisattva will only give you and your sister one night to say goodbye. She will come to take your sister away first thing tomorrow morning."

"What?!" Xu Xian exclaimed in surprise, and hurriedly asked Bai Suzhen, "Wife, is what Xiaoqing said true?"

Bai Suzhen nodded with a bitter face, and Xu Xian immediately stood up, "No, we absolutely cannot let her take my wife away."

After saying that, Xu Xian held Bai Suzhen's hand tightly and said, "My wife, you and Xiaoqing should go. Don't worry about me. Go as far away as you can."

"Qing'er, that's true," Laozi said with a worried expression, "but that's a Bodhisattva! How can we possibly defeat a Bodhisattva?"

At this point, Laozi turned to the Buddha beside him and asked, "Buddha, can you defeat a Bodhisattva?"

Buddha was also filled with fear. "Me? Don't joke around. Even if I could beat her, I wouldn't dare to fight her. What if she trips me up after I become an immortal? I wouldn't dare."

"I can't beat them either," Zhuang Yan sighed.

Xiaoqing was filled with disappointment upon hearing this, not because she was disappointed in Zhuang Yan and the other two, since they were Bodhisattvas and it was normal that she couldn't defeat them.

Bai Suzhen and Xu Xian were filled with despair upon hearing this, and they silently looked at each other and shed tears.

“However,” Zhuang Yan suddenly raised his voice, “it’s not that there’s no way.”

Xiaoqing hurriedly asked, "What method?"

Zhuang Yan said, "Why don't you go and pray to Guanyin Bodhisattva? Didn't you say that Guanyin Bodhisattva guided you to repay her kindness?"

Upon hearing this, Bai Suzhen was startled, but quickly shook her head and said, "No, Marici Bodhisattva just said that." She then told Zhuang Yan what Marici Bodhisattva had said.

After listening, Zhuang Yan laughed and said, "Whether she is true or not, how will you know if you don't ask her? If she really appears, wouldn't it be a good opportunity for you to ask her for clarification?"

Bai Suzhen's eyes lit up immediately, and even Xiaoqing nodded repeatedly, saying, "Yes, yes, sister, that makes sense. Why don't you set up an altar in the backyard tonight, burn incense, and pray to Guanyin Bodhisattva?"

Upon hearing this, Bai Suzhen turned her gaze to Xu Xian, who also felt a glimmer of hope and said, "My wife, we can give it a try."
