Chapter 57 An Unexpected Joy in the Cave

Guo Mi smiled and considerately made way for the entrance to the cave. At her command, the two little bears darted into the cave!

Soon, the dark cave entrance echoed with the cries of startled small animals, followed by a cacophony of tearing and threatening sounds.

Guo Mi stood guard at the cave entrance, knowing that the little bear needed time.

After an unknown amount of time, the cave gradually quieted down. Guo Mi relaxed her guard slightly and was just about to go into the cave to take a look when a dark shadow suddenly darted out of the cave entrance!

It moved very quickly, and it was clear that it hadn't expected there to be a bear at the cave entrance. In that moment of surprise, Guo Mi swiftly extended her claws and pinned the bear down with one paw!

The mysterious visitor was finally revealed in the moonlight; its black and white fur, though somewhat bald, was still recognizable.

It's a fox.

The fox, pinned under Guo Mi's paws, let out a sharp cry, struggling to escape from the bear's claws. After a series of fierce screams, it finally gave up hope and awaited its fate in despair.

Guo Mi gave it a clean, final bite.

At the same time, the two bear cubs dragged their prey out of the cave.

There are three foxes in total.

Foxes often linger around other predators, trying to scavenge for scraps.

But their hunting style is very interesting. After smelling the scent of field mice and squirrels in the ground, they will use their claws to dig the soil, drive their prey to one side, and then leap high and pounce!
Guo Mi guessed that they probably smelled the dried fish and tried to dig a hole as before, but accidentally dug up the soil she used to cover the hole.

I thought I would come up empty-handed today, but I was surprised to find a pleasant surprise in the cave.

The fishbone turned its head, its claws pawing at the meat in front of it, and hesitated:
"I think I smell it... the scent of a male bear..."

Guo Mi's heart tightened, and then she heard him hesitate and say:

"It looks like Caesar."
