Why didn't Chapter 77 refute this?
Before him lay a scene of utter devastation, bloodstains scattered across the ground. Slok cowered timidly to one side; he was clearly not the protagonist.

The one who caught Xiong's attention the most was Guo Mi, who was standing not far away.

Caesar first noticed the bloodstains on her claws, his movements faltered slightly, but he quickly relaxed.

Because those sharp, hard claws still had more bits of flesh and polar bear fur left on them, it was clear that Guo Mi was not the one who suffered the loss.

Moreover, judging from the current situation, the owners of those pets with loose fur are likely to face a bad end.

Caesar hadn't forgotten how Guo Mi looked when they fought, recalling how her eyes still shone even when she was at a disadvantage.

Just then, Guo Mi looked at him. The eyes in her memory completely overlapped with the eyes in reality. Different times, but equally terrifyingly bright. Most importantly, the fierce light deep in the pupils had not yet dissipated.

Caesar felt a jolt in his heart, and for some reason, he hurriedly looked away and turned his head away.

A strange look flashed in Guo Mi's eyes.

Caesar didn't know what was wrong with him; in his confused state, he subconsciously raised his paw and walked towards Sloch.

Slok, who had been staring blankly with his head down, was suddenly enveloped by a dark shadow, and then a bear's paw stepped into his line of sight.

A very familiar bear paw.

His heart clenched instantly; he wanted to look up, but he no longer had the courage.

Caesar stood opposite Slok, looking down at him.

His hair was disheveled, and there were small pieces missing in some places. It was clear that he had been beaten quite badly. Judging from his dejected and guilty look, he probably hadn't caused any real damage to the other party.

He's grown so big for nothing!
A surge of anger welled up in Caesar's heart, and he grinned slightly, revealing his sharp teeth, a roar brewing in his throat.

Slok, who was avoiding eye contact, tensed up at the sound of that distinctive low growl. He shrank back as much as he could, but the movement pulled at his wound, causing him to slump uncontrollably to the side.

The massive claw wound that he had deliberately hidden, which was almost piercing through his entire lower back, was finally exposed to the air.

Caesar's gaze sharpened, his pent-up anger abruptly interrupted, and even the roar he was about to unleash at Slok was caught in his throat.

His gaze remained fixed on Slok's wound for a long time, but he remained silent.

Slok pulled at his wound but didn't dare to cry out. He immediately panicked when he noticed Caesar's gaze.

He tried to turn his body to hide the wound again, but Caesar had already raised his claws and pinned him down before he could!
He didn't dare move then, and gave Caesar a fawning smile.

However, Caesar completely ignored him, his eyes fixed on the wounds on his body.

Slok's forced smile eventually faded, and he resignedly lowered his head, awaiting the scolding to come.

However, before he received Caesar's roar and rebuke, he was first met with Guo Mi's question:

Why not refute it?

Slok paused, then looked up to find that Guo Mi had somehow appeared opposite him, her gaze calm and even gentle.

Perhaps seeing that he didn't react, they asked again:
Why not refute it?

Slok finally realized what was happening, raised his paw to scratch his ear, and asked in a daze:
"Refute what?"

Guo Mi's gaze darkened, and under Slock's cautious yet bewildered gaze, she whispered:

"Why didn't you say a word when he called you a freak, a disgrace to the polar bear?"

She could clearly feel that Caesar's breathing paused noticeably when she asked that question.

After a brief silence, Slok, the one being questioned, suddenly chuckled twice and whispered, somewhat embarrassed:
"Hey, hehe...because...he's right."

The male bear was right; he could never become a bear like his brother Caesar, a bear that all male bears feared and dared not even fight back against the bears that bullied him.

Without Caesar, he might not be alive today; he would have long since become a skeleton in the Arctic. Perhaps not even bones would remain, having been completely devoured by other animals.

Perhaps his mother made a mistake when she gave birth to him.

He doesn't deserve to be a polar bear at all.

So the male bear was right, he was a freak, a disgrace to the entire polar bear species.

Slok's answer surprised Gomi, who had always thought that although he relied on Caesar, he had always lived as he pleased.

After all, this bear usually appears cheerful, optimistic, gluttonous, playful, and loves life.

But now, unexpectedly, beneath that optimistic exterior lies a bear, insecure and timid, looking at the world with fearful eyes.

However, before she could say anything, Caesar beside her had already rebuked her:
"Shut up! Look at what you're saying!"

Anger suddenly ignited in Caesar's eyes:
"It's one thing that you're usually cowardly, but you can still lower your head and accept it when other bears insult you like that! What on earth are you thinking?!"

"Can't you be a little braver? Can't you prove yourself even once? I feed you well, and you're bigger than most male bears, so why don't you even have the courage to talk back?!"

Slok was so ashamed of his words that he couldn't lift his head, and Guo Mi tried to stop him:
"Stop talking..."

But Caesar's words grew increasingly harsh, culminating in a cold question:
"Even if you get bitten to death, are you just supposed to accept it passively?!"

He paused here, then suddenly let out a cold laugh:
"That's true. Why didn't that bear just kill you? It would have been easier if you had died. As he said, the polar bear would have been spared some humiliation!"

Guo Mi interrupted sharply:

"Caesar, shut up!!"

Caesar finally fell silent, but his eyes still held a burning anger.

Slok said weakly from the side:
"It's alright, Guo Mi, I'm used to it. Don't argue over me."

This sentence reignited Caesar's anger, which he had barely managed to suppress:

"you really……"

He glared at Slok, raising his claws high, but hesitated upon seeing the claw wound on his side, ultimately unable to strike. He could only growl angrily:

"You're a piece of trash!"

Guo Mi blocked Slock's path and asked in a cold voice:
"Caesar, it was Slok who was insulted, why are you so angry?"

Caesar turned his head away and did not answer.

Guo Mi took a deep breath:

"It's because you don't want him to be bullied..."

Caesar immediately interrupted:

"no!"

He said coldly:

"It has nothing to do with who bullies him. We just happened to be born in the same litter of polar bears and separated from our mother. We have no relation whatsoever!"

Guo Mi said "Oh":
"Then why do you keep him by your side all this time? Why do you even hunt to raise him?"

She interrupted Caesar before he could finish speaking:

"If he weren't your brother, would you have tolerated an ordinary polar bear that you had no relation to?"
