Harry returns from Hogwarts Legacy

Chapter 18 Did I assign you to a different school?

Chapter 18 Did I assign you to a different school?
Ron, persuaded by Hermione, never looked at Draco again and chose to ignore his provocation.

He turned around and started talking to everyone about the branch.

After worrying about whether he would be expelled, Ron began to worry about the sorting.

Led by his words, all the young wizards from pure-blood wizard families began to become anxious, and even the always cocky Draco turned pale.

"My dad... my dad said that when he entered school, he fought with werewolves..."

After hearing what Draco said, the faces of the people around him turned purple.

The crowd chatted for a while, and then the auditorium suddenly became quiet.

Driven by the quiet atmosphere, everyone fell silent.

Professor McGonagall walked forward and gently placed a four-legged stool in front of the first-year students.

She placed another pointed wizard's hat on the stool. It was patched, worn, and extremely dirty.

Harry recognized it; it was the same thing that had been used to sort the houses at Hogwarts.

Then the hat twisted, and a wide crack appeared on the brim, like a mouth—

It began to sing.

"You may think I'm not pretty,

But never judge a book by its appearance,
If you can find a prettier hat than mine,
I can eat myself.

You can make your bowler hat black and shiny,

Let your high silk hats be smooth and crisp,

I am the magic hat used for Hogwarts testing.
Of course it is taller than your hats.

Any hidden thoughts in your mind,

No one can escape the magic hat's golden eyes.
Try it on.

I will tell you,

Which college should I be assigned to?

You may belong to Gryffindor,
There is courage buried deep in my heart,
Their courage, courage and chivalry,

To make Gryffindor outstanding;
You may be a Hufflepuff,
The people there are honest and loyal,

Hufflepuff students are stoic and honest;

Not afraid of hard work;

If you are smart,
Maybe into the wise old Ravenclaw,
Those who are wise and knowledgeable,

There they will always meet their comrades;

Maybe you'll go into Slytherin,
Maybe you can make sincere friends here,
But those cunning and insidious people will use any means to
to achieve their goals.

Come wear me! Don't be afraid!
Don't panic!

In my hands (even though I don't have any hands)
you are absolutely safe

Because I am a thinking magic hat! "

After the Magic Hat finished singing, the audience burst into applause. The Magic Hat bowed to the four tables one by one, and then stood still.

"So, all we have to do is put on this hat?" Ron wrinkled his nose. "I must kill Fred and George. They actually lied to me about fighting a troll! The problem is that I actually believed them!"

"What about your father? Didn't he also lie to you and tell you he was going to fight a giant eight-eyed spider?" Harry said suddenly.

Ron choked: "Ah, that's...not necessary."

Harry chuckled, pleased to be teasing a good friend.

Just then, Professor McGonagall took a few steps forward, holding a roll of parchment in her hand.

She reached out, grabbed the little point of the magic hat, and lifted it up.

"Oh, don't treat the old hat like this. He is old enough and shouldn't be treated like this." The Sorting Hat opened its mouth and complained.

Everyone laughed at the magic hat's humor.

Professor McGonagall chose to ignore the Sorting Hat's complaints. She said, "Whoever's name I call now, put on the hat, sit on the stool, and wait for the sorting."

Without even glancing at the list, she called out, "Hannah Abbott!"

As the words fell, a ruddy little girl with two golden braids stumbled out of the line and put on a hat that just covered her eyes. She sat down. A pause - "Hufflepuff!" the hat shouted.

The people at the table to the right applauded and cheered Hannah, welcoming her to sit at their table.

Harry saw the ghost of the fat monk from Hufflepuff wave cheerfully back at her as well.

"Susan Bones!" Professor McGonagall shouted again.

"Hufflepuff!" the hat called again, and Susan quickly ran over and sat down next to Hannah.

"Terry Boot!" "Ravenclaw!"

This time the second table on the left clapped and applauded. When Terry joined them, several Ravenclaws stood up to shake his hand.

"Justin Finch-Fletchley!"

"Hufflepuff!"

"Hermione Granger!"

"Go ahead, Hermione." Ron encouraged Hermione.

Hermione took a deep breath, trotted over to the stool, hurriedly took the hat from Professor McGonagall and put it on her head.

"Gryffindor!" shouted the hat.

Ron hummed in satisfaction.

"Neville Longbottom!"

Neville heard Professor McGonagall's name and ran towards the stool, falling on the way.

It took the hat a long time to make a decision about Neville. When the hat finally shouted "Gryffindor", Neville even forgot to return the hat to Professor McGonagall and ran back with the hat.

"Hey, boy, give the old hat back!" the Sorting Hat yelled. "The old hat is happy that you like it, but the old hat doesn't like it if you take it back!"

Neville's face suddenly turned red, and he had to lower his head and put his hat back amid the laughter.

When Malfoy's name was called, he walked over and sat on the stool.

As the hat almost touched his head, it screamed, "Slytherin!"

Malfoy went to join his friends Crabbe and Goyle, looking very pleased with himself.

At this time, there were not many people left.

Mohn... Knott... Parkinson...

Then the Patil twins... then Sally Ann Box... and finally, it was -

"Harry Potter!"

Harry stood up and walked slowly towards Professor McGonagall.

As Harry stepped forward, there was a sudden buzzing and murmur in the dining room like the hissing of a small flame.

"Potter, is she calling Potter?"

"Is that Harry Potter?"

After all, these children grew up listening to stories about saviors. If Voldemort was used to stop their crying when they were young, then Harry's name was the best way to coax them to sleep.

Everyone's eyes turned to Harry, they were eager to know the results of Mr. Savior's sorting.

Harry walked forward and looked at the familiar old hat, suddenly remembering that when he first put it on, it persuaded him to go to Slytherin.

Then let's see if when I put on the old hat again this time, it will still persuade me to go to Slytherin.

Thinking of this, Harry took the hat from Professor McGonagall with both hands - he was the only one who did so and thanked Professor McGonagall.

There was a hint of tenderness in Professor McGonagall's eyes. She took a step back and waited for the result of Harry's sorting.

Harry sat on the stool and pushed his hat onto his head.

"Hey?"

Old Hat's voice came to his mind.

"Strange, am I getting old and confused? Did I just assign you to a different hospital?"
