Harry returns from Hogwarts Legacy
Chapter 29 Tribute to Dumbledore's Old Senior
Chapter 29 Tribute to Dumbledore's Old Senior
Harry's scar suddenly stung violently.
He subconsciously put his hand on his forehead, and recalled the events of a hundred years ago in his mind.
One hundred years ago today, September 1891, 9.
It was during the fifth grade holiday. He and several classmates quelled the goblin rebellion. On September 9, they faced the goblin leader Lanlock and defeated him.
It was a tough battle. Even the Avada Kedavra curse that Sebastian cast in a hurry could not cause any damage to Lanlock...
"Ugh..." Harry groaned subconsciously because of the severe pain in his scar.
"Harry, what's wrong with you?" Ron came up to him with concern.
"It's okay." Harry quickly covered his cheek with his hand and said, "It hurts. You know, my gums are inflamed."
Memories came flooding back like a tide, and he finally remembered how he got back to 1991.
At the moment when Lanlock, who had transformed into a giant dragon, fell to the ground with a bang, Harry only had time to cast a line of armor to protect himself before he felt hit by a red light.
When I opened my eyes again, I was back at the stairwell at my aunt's house.
At the end of the memory, he clearly saw the panicked and helpless looks of Veratia and Cassandra.
"Harry!"
He finally remembered that the two voices calling were not from his aunt, but from two girls.
"Harry Potter." Hagrid saw that Harry was fine, so he lifted his beard and gave the kids some science: "Perhaps you have heard of his name - I mean Mr. Potter from a hundred years ago."
"No." Hermione frowned. "I've read a lot of books, such as Modern History of Magic, The Rise and Fall of Dark Magic, and Important Magical Events of the 20th Century. They only mentioned our Harry - the savior who defeated Voldemort in front of us."
Hearing the name of Voldemort, Hagrid, Ron and Neville shuddered in unison.
"Oh, good girl." Hagrid bit his lip and said, "Don't say that name directly - besides, Mr. Potter is a figure from the 19th century, which belongs to modern times. You certainly won't read about his deeds in Modern History of Magic and Important Magical Events in the 20th Century."
"In fact," Hagrid whispered again, "because he suppressed the goblin rebellion with an iron fist and died together with the goblin leader Lanlock, the goblins in Gringotts paid a lot of money to bribe everyone to cover up this name as much as possible - at least to avoid mentioning it. For a period of time, before the You-Know-Who appeared, this code name once belonged to Mr. Potter."
All right, Voldemort, Harry thought, now we have another score to settle!
"Even the school history doesn't mention him?" Hermione asked with a frown.
"Or guess why it's called 'Hogwarts, A History'?" Hagrid said, spreading his big hands.
It turns out that the school history was also edited... Hermione nodded in understanding.
"Then how do you know about his deeds?" Seamus discovered the blind spot.
Hagrid scratched his head and said, "Of course Dumbledore told me. After all, Mr. Potter was his senior. If Mr. Potter had not died together with Lanlock, he would have witnessed Dumbledore's sorting in his seventh year. Of course, Dumbledore once said that even he could not do better than Mr. Potter."
Oh, this damn seniority, Harry thought to himself. "Is he... is he that powerful?" Ron asked in surprise.
"Oh, of course." Hagrid said mysteriously, "There is also a legend among the goblins that the 'Your Secret Man' once went to Azkaban, and as a result, the Dementors there desperately tried to recall happy things..."
Harry was a little speechless. Was I so scary back then?
Merlin's beard, I have never used Avada Kedavra on goblins!
It's just a matter of taking away their weapons and throwing them around their necks; or turning the stones into powder kegs and throwing them in their faces.
Hagrid added, "But his name is the same as Harry's. What a coincidence, isn't it?"
"Yeah." Harry smiled at Hagrid.
"But this isn't actually a coincidence," Hagrid said suddenly in a serious tone.
"Huh?" Several little kids exclaimed together.
Harry's heart skipped a beat. Could it be that...had Hagrid discovered something?
"Isn't this a coincidence?" Seamus asked in surprise, "Don't be ridiculous, Hagrid. Could that Harry be our Harry?"
"Oh, don't be silly, Seamus." Hagrid spread his hands and said, "Mr. Potter has died together with Lanlock. In the wizarding world at that time, wizards called him the 'savior' because he not only quelled the goblin rebellion, but also wiped out the Fire Ash Snake Party together with a few good friends."
"In the days when the Ash Snakes were rampant, not only wizards but even Muggles had a hard time," Hagrid said again.
"So," Hermione raised her head, "a hundred years ago there was a 'Harry Potter' who was a savior who saved the wizarding world; and a hundred years later, there is also a savior named 'Harry Potter' who saved the wizarding world?"
"That's right." Hagrid nodded and said, "To say that this is not a coincidence, it has to start with James. At that time, the mysterious man - I mean the mysterious man from Slytherin - was killing innocent people in the wizarding world, and the Death Eaters were wreaking havoc on the entire wizarding world. Those days were truly extremely dark."
"After careful consideration, James Potter decided to name his son Harry Potter," Hagrid recounted the past events. "On the one hand, it was to commemorate the great savior of a hundred years ago, but also to place hope on his own child, hoping that he could defeat the You-Know-Who and help the wizarding world get out of the haze just like the predecessor of the same name a hundred years ago - and as you can see, Harry lived up to his father's expectations."
Harry opened his mouth. He really didn't expect that his name actually came from himself?
It feels a bit like a closed loop...
"Then isn't he a Potter?" Ron asked curiously.
"Of course not. It is said that he is from Muggle origin." Hagrid smiled at Ron, "But the mysterious man with the letter V at the beginning doesn't believe it. He said that the man must be of pure blood."
"I never thought that the wizarding world was saved by two Harry Potters in a row within a hundred years." Seamus exclaimed.
"What's wrong with that?" Hermione shook her shaggy hair, put a hand on Harry's shoulder, and began to sing: "Sometimes, in our great island nation, responsibility will fall on one person, who will lead the people out of the valley of shadows and towards the sunshine of peace and prosperity..."
"Cool, where did you learn this?" Ron said with admiration.
"Yes Prime Minister," said Hermione. "That's my dad's favorite series."
Harry thought for a moment and asked Hagrid again: "Then Hagrid, where are all those friends of Mr. Potter, I mean those who once fought alongside him?"
