Harry returns from Hogwarts Legacy
Chapter 58: This is what Slytherin is like
Chapter 58: This is what Slytherin is like (Seeking follow-up reading)
The holiday finally arrived as scheduled. Hermione returned home on the Hogwarts Express in the morning. As for her roommates, except Ron who would stay in Hogwarts Castle, Seamus and Neville would go home for vacation.
Just as Hermione was sitting in the cubicle reading a book, there was a knock on the door.
"Is there anyone here?"
Hermione, who was not very happy about being disturbed, looked up in surprise when she heard the sound.
It was Harry and Ron.
"Harry? Ron?" Hermione said happily, "Why are you two getting in the car... Oh, I mean, aren't you two staying in the castle?"
"Harry said he wanted to come to Diagon Alley and asked me to accompany him." Ron shrugged. "Besides, we are worried that you will be in trouble with the Slytherins on the way."
"No, didn't Harry reach an agreement with Miss Farley?" Hermione said with a smile, and then asked: "I heard that Miss Farley asked you to meet yesterday afternoon?"
"Oh, yes." Harry leaned back in his chair lazily.
Hermione and Ron both became interested: "So what did you talk about?"
"Nothing much. Miss Farley wanted to be friends with me." Harry answered truthfully, "You know, that's how Slytherins are."
Indeed, in Harry's time, Slytherin was indeed like this.
If you don't have any ability, Slytherins will not look at you straight in the eye; but if you show the corresponding strength, Slytherins will respect you.
But they are much better than the descendants of Death Eaters who rely on themselves as so-called "pure-blood wizards" and act so arrogantly and fail to see the current situation.
"Is this what Slytherin is like?" Ron scratched his head. In his stereotype, Slytherin was much worse.
But this can't actually be blamed on Ron. After all, the Slytherins today are all descendants of the Death Eaters who followed Voldemort.
Look at those Death Eaters, there aren't any good ones among them...
Not to mention what they did, just looking at their appearance, from Voldemort to Bellatrix, can they be compared with Grindelwald and Wenda Rozier?
There's no comparison. You know he doesn't have the ability.
Tell me, Voldemort, how are you going to explain the fact that you single-handedly assassinated a one-year-old child and were killed by someone else?
The face is gone.
"At least Miss Farley is a nice person." Hermione nodded and said, "It can be seen that she had no choice but to challenge Harry to a duel because of her status as a prefect..."
"Honestly, buddy." Ron asked with concern, "Did Miss Farley threaten you with her family?"
"Don't worry." Harry smiled at Ron, "She's not that kind of person."
The meeting with Gemma yesterday afternoon was as uneventful as the Eastern Front 52 years ago. Gemma simply stated her desire to make friends with Harry.
Harry did not refuse. As the saying goes, one more friend means one more way. Maybe Gemma would be useful in the future.
"It's a good thing that you two are here. Why don't you come over to my house and have a seat?" Hermione invited. "My house is quite big. It's no problem for the two of you to stay here for a while."
"We've got to go to Diagon Alley," said Ron.
Hermione asked curiously, "I forgot to ask you two just now, what are you two doing in Diagon Alley?" "Buying some Christmas presents," Harry said to Hermione, "Christmas is about giving each other presents, and Ron's presents require him to be present in person."
"Eh? What gift?" Hermione became interested.
Harry did not answer, but asked Ron: "Ron, have you ever found a problem, that is, when you are learning spells, you always feel very strenuous, and there is always a sense of blockage when using the wand?"
Ron thought about it carefully and nodded, "It seems to be the case."
"That's it," Harry put his arm on Ron's shoulder, "Mr. Ollivander once told me that it's the wand that chooses the wizard. Maybe the reason you have trouble learning spells is because of the wand. So I plan to take advantage of the Christmas holiday to go out with you to Mr. Ollivander's wand shop to try it out. If that's really the problem, then your Christmas present will be this wand."
"Harry..." Ron was a little moved. He reached out and tapped Harry's leg, then turned his head to look out the window without saying a word.
After a long while, he said awkwardly, "Thank you, Harry."
"We are brothers." Harry smiled and put his arm around Ron's neck. He looked at Hermione with a complicated expression and said to Ron, "Besides, you still have to practice dueling skills with Hermione after school starts. I don't want you to lose to Hermione because of your wand."
Ron made a playful joke: "Oh, then at least I'll have an excuse."
"Boys..." Hermione shook her head and said helplessly.
The train soon pulled into the station. Harry held Ron's hand and was about to say goodbye to Hermione, but she stopped him.
"Listen to me, Harry, Ron." Hermione said, "Why don't you go to my house for dinner first, and then I'll ask Dad to take you to Diagon Alley - you know, the Leaky Cauldron is quite a distance from King's Cross Station, do you want to walk there?"
"That's fine." Harry thought about it and it made sense, "Then we two will bother you--"
The three of them walked out of the carriage and were met by Draco and his two followers, Crabbe and Goyle.
Harry thought Draco would say something, but what he didn't expect was that after Draco saw the three of them - especially Hermione, he hurriedly lowered his head and walked forward, as if he was avoiding something terrifying.
"What's going on?" Harry asked curiously.
"Nothing." Hermione smiled and looked at Draco's back.
When I walked out of the station, Mr. and Mrs. Granger were indeed waiting at the exit.
Although there was no telephone in Hogwarts Castle, Hermione did have an owl to deliver messages home.
Hermione's father's name is Ashkin, a very English name; her mother's name is Claire, a very gentle woman.
After learning that Harry and Ron were Hermione's classmates, the couple were very enthusiastic and invited them to their home.
"Eh?" Ron exclaimed in surprise when he saw Mr. Granger's car. "Isn't this a car?"
"Ron knows about cars?" Hermione asked, turning around.
"Of course, my dad has one too." Ron said with a raised eyebrow, "But his car isn't as pretty as this one, and it doesn't have a logo that looks like the Golden Snitch."
Looking in the direction of Ron's hand, I saw the letter "B" with wings spread out as if ready to fly.
Looking at the shape of this car, you can tell that the price won’t be low.
