Chapter 581 The Dark Side of the Empire, Saint Gilles' Revenge, and the Cruel Slaughter of the Great Demon Khorne
Lemanrus and his wolf guards hurriedly departed. Guilliman and Rhodes watched his departing figure with satisfied smiles. The return of the Wolf King would once again enhance the Empire's power.
As the geneticists gradually regain their body temperature, the Chaos Surface is now under immense pressure and is completely at a disadvantage.
In fact, strictly speaking, all the original genes have now returned.
The only one who didn't return, Ferusmanus, was in a state of death, and Rhodes didn't have time to revive him in the short term.
No one in the Empire urged Rhodes to do anything regarding the matter of Feralusmarus.
After all, Rhodes had resurrected Macado and retrieved many of the missing Primarchs, single-handedly transforming the Empire into the hopeful place it is today.
For the rest of the time, Rhodes focused entirely on Holy Terra, patiently waiting for the Emperor to extract the Chaos Godhead.
Whenever he has free time, he goes to the Mythical Beast Planet to visit his two daughters and two wives, to see Elsa who is about to give birth, or to keep Elena company.
Then, using the communication ability of the cosmic beast, he communicated with his two sons. Now his two sons are capable of standing on their own, each leading their own legion, as well as some of Rhodes' genetic offspring.
They are clearing out all sorts of alien creatures from the imperial holy lands, further expanding human colonies.
Guilliman and Macardo, on the other hand, were constantly buried in heavy official duties.
The Wolf King's return once again caused a great uproar in the Empire. The Space Wolves held a grand banquet on Fenris, bringing out their treasured wines.
Celebrating the return of the great wolf father, Lemanus, whose return brought unimaginable benefits to all the Space Wolves, all the wolf offspring began to cheer.
After their brief time together, Lemanus quickly took his genes and offspring to the Dark Side of the Empire to support his brothers, who had been fighting there for years, and it was time for him to join the battle.
In the pitch-black starry sky, cannon fire roared as the Imperial Fleet and the Chaos Fleet engaged in a fierce battle amidst the shattered star field.
Horus' flagship, the "Soul of Vengeance"—no longer a symbol of chaos, but repainted in Imperial iron gray, with the eagle emblem on its bow shining with divine light—led the Imperial fleet into enemy territory.
After the battle on Vigilant Planet ended, and with the defeat of Chaos Warmaster Abaddon, Horus's flagship, lost for millennia, once again returned to the hands of the former Warmaster.
Using the powerful light energy of Horus, the Giant of Light, I successfully evolved and eliminated all the chaos on the Vengeful Spirit. Then, on my side, through the engineers of Belisarius, I installed a faster-than-light engine on the ship and enlarged it, transforming it into a giant warship approximately 50 kilometers long.
Its massive cannon array spewed out devastating beams of light, cleaving a Chaos battleship in two, the explosions silently erupting in the vacuum.
Meanwhile, on the fleet's flank, Leon Eljonson's "Unyielding Truth" pierced the Chaos fleet's weak point like a sharp knight's sword. The Dark Angels' fleet, with near-perfect tactical coordination, systematically divided and encircled the Chaos warships.
"Attention all ships, target locked—Nurgle Plague Ship 'Breath of Rot,' saturate bombardment!" Leon's cold voice echoed in the fleet channel.
At this moment, Lion King Leon was extremely excited. Everything seemed to have returned, as if it had returned to 1 years ago, with the Primarchs fighting side by side once again, fighting for the Empire and for all mankind.
Except for those traitors, all the brothers have returned.
The next second, hundreds of plasma torpedoes were launched in unison, and the bloated Nurgle warship disintegrated in the dense explosions, with putrid pus and plague zombies freezing into disgusting ice crystals in the vacuum.
However, the Chaos Fleet's counterattack was equally fierce. Khorne's Bloodraiders leaped out of the warp rift, their hulls covered in skulls and chains. Their ramming angle directly rammed through an Imperial cruiser, and then thousands of Chaos berserkers boarded the ship with torpedoes.
"They've boarded! Prepare to engage!" roared the Space Marine commander on the bridge.
"My children, do not panic. Your father is with you. Bravely face our enemies and let them know the might of the Empire and the might of humanity," said Lion King Leon, drawing his massive Tiger Soul Blade from his waist.
Once upon a time, his weapon was the Lion Sword, but ten thousand years of slumber had caused him to lose it. However, the Tiger Soul Blade, formed from the power of a cosmic beast, was more suitable for him to wield.
"For the great father of genes! For Leon!"
“Brothers, let our enemies know what's what, let them know that they are facing the offspring of the Lion King.”
"Long live the First Legion!"
Countless dark angels roared, and a large number of Chaos Space Marines and Chaos Demons rushed into the ship.
But instead of fearful human soldiers, he was met with the crisp sound of explosives being chambered.
The Dark Angels raised their weapons, shouting "Long live the Empire! Long live the Lion King!" and launched an attack on the Chaos Space Marines who had boarded the ship.
A chaotic torrent surged into the warship's interior, staining the bulkheads with a foul, bloody hue, and filling the air with the stench of decay and sulfur. Khorne's berserkers roared as they charged through the corridors, their chainsaw axes and power swords hacking at anything in their path.
But the dark angels were already on high alert.
"Hold the line! For the Caliban!"
The Terminator squad "Deathwing" formed an iron wall in front, their Stormblaster spitting fire and tearing the Chaos Warriors charging at the forefront to shreds.
A chosen one of Khorne charged forward wielding a blood-stained giant axe, only to have his skull smashed by a powerful punch from the Terminator Captain, scattering brains and metal fragments everywhere.
"Traitors, you have tarnished the Emperor's glory!" the Dark Angel Company Commander roared, the energy field on his power gauntlets humming.
The Chaos side responded with a maniacal laugh. A Chaos Lord from the Black Legion pushed aside the corpse and stepped forward. His armor was covered with blasphemous runes, and his power claws dripped with corrosive venom.
"Dark Angels? Ha, you're nothing but a bunch of cowards hiding in secret!" The First Legion's scandals have been known to the world, such as the Fallen Angels and the Second Empire.
The Dark Angel didn't speak, but instead drew his power sword and launched a direct charge.
The Terminator armor's heavy footsteps shook the deck as the two clashed in the narrow corridor, their power swords and power claws colliding and sparks flying.
If Chaos dares to pry into their secrets, then Chaos will be silenced. The First Legion truly has no secrets now; any mention of secrets will touch the Dark Angels' sore spot and must be killed.
The Lion King's cold voice came over the bridge's loudspeaker: "All squads, report the battle situation."
"All chaotic debris in Area A has been cleared!"
"Site B is currently being cleared; the battle is expected to end in twenty minutes!"
"The battle in Area C has ended, and we are preparing to support other areas."
The communications channels were filled with good news: either the enemy had been defeated or they were about to be defeated.
The new era's original Cast I Super Astartes technology has directly widened the gap in combat power between the Astartes and Chaos.
Lion King Leon nodded with great satisfaction, looking at Azrael beside him—the current First Vice Commander of the Dark Angels—after completing the Redemption Crusade.
“Father, we’ll tear that Chaos fleet to shreds in half an hour at most,” Azrael said in a deep voice. Leon didn’t answer, but simply gripped the Tiger Soul Blade tightly, the phantom beast spirit on the blade emitting a low roar.
"Well done, my children, I'm going to stretch my muscles too."
The next second, Lion King charged into the battlefield like a silver lightning bolt. His speed far exceeded that of ordinary Space Marines, and his Tiger Soul Blade drew a scorching trajectory in the air.
Before a Khorne Berserker could even react, he was sliced in two, his burning remains falling to the ground.
"Leon is here! The Lion King is here!"
The Chaos Warriors retreated in terror, but it was too late.
Lion King Leon descended from the sky as if it were his own territory, and with each swing of his battle blade, he took away several chaotic and fragmented lives.
His fighting style is precise and deadly, with no superfluous movements, only the purest killing efficiency, and even a kind of violent aesthetic.
A Nurgle demon attempted to block him with a cloud of plague, but Leon merely snorted, and the phantom spirit on his battleblade roared, its blazing white light incinerating the corrupting mist.
Then he pierced the demon's pustular body with a knife and burned the demon to ashes.
“Eliminate all enemies,” Leon’s voice rang out on the communication channel.
With the last Chaos Space Marine killed, the battle inside the warship finally came to an end.
The dark angels began clearing the battlefield, recovering the bodies of their fallen comrades, and executing the enemies who were not yet fully dead.
Leon stood on the bridge, gazing out the porthole at the ongoing space battle.
Horus's "Spirit of Vengeance" is bombarding the last Chaos capital ship, while the golden figure of Sanguiles shines above the enemy vessel.
Lemanrus's wolf pack fleet flanked the enemy from the flanks, completely cutting off their retreat. When the Primarchs fought together, they were a force to be reckoned with.
“Father, we won,” Azrael whispered as he walked to his side.
Leon paused for a moment, then slowly nodded.
"Yes, but the war is far from over. We still have many more traitors to kill and many more Chaos lackeys to eliminate!"
At this moment, the Primarchs, through psionic teleportation from the think tank aboard the spaceship, also landed on the planet's surface and launched an attack on the last remaining forces of chaos on the planet.
On the shattered surface of the planet, the war was equally brutal.
Saint Gilles spread his dazzling wings, wielding a giant sword engulfed in flames, and streaked across the battlefield like a golden meteor.
His target was a Khorne demon—Skabrand.
These two are old rivals. Khorne's first archdeacon has always wanted to drag the angels and his offspring into the camp of chaos.
Back in the Warp, Sanguiles had a deep-seated hatred for the demons of Khorne, so being able to slaughter this great demon of Khorne was incredibly satisfying.
"Archangel! Your blood will be offered to the Blood God!" Skabrand roared as he charged forward.
Saint Gilles did not answer, but simply flapped his wings and flew up before swooping down.
Saint Gilles' golden wings drew a dazzling trail of light across the smoke-filled battlefield, and the flaming greatsword in his hand burst forth with blinding light.
As Skabrand charged forward, the archangel's lips curled into a contemptuous sneer.
“That’s it?” Saint Gilles gracefully sidestepped in mid-air, easily dodging Skabrand’s powerful double-axe strike. “Ten thousand years have passed, and your moves are still so clumsy.”
The Great Demon Khorne let out a deafening roar and turned to pounce again.
Saint Gilles suddenly accelerated and delivered a spinning kick that struck the demon’s ugly face, sending him staggering backward.
"Look at you," the angel hovered in mid-air, the tip of his sword pointing contemptuously at the demon, "you don't even understand the most basic combat. Is this the kind of trash Khorne taught you?"
Skabrand brandished his twin axes in fury, violent energy coalescing within the weapons. "I'll tear your wings apart! I'll offer your head to the Blood God!"
Saint Gilles suddenly swooped down, his sword flashing like lightning. "Anyone can talk big!"
The archangel's sword deftly deflected a battle axe, then followed up with a swift kick to the demon's knee, the sound of bones shattering ringing out. "Stand up, you piece of trash. Let me see just how capable Khorne's strongest warrior truly is."
In fact, if Saint Gilles wanted to, he could have ended the battle in an instant, within a few seconds, and killed this great demon Khorne.
But killing him like this would be too easy on that bastard. Over the past ten thousand years, countless of his own genetic offspring have died at his hands. So, Da Tian plans to torture this Khorne the Great Demon Skabrand properly.
The enormous Khorne demon knelt on one knee, angrily exhaling its scorching breath.
Saint Gilles had already circled behind it and sliced off half of its wing with a single sword stroke. "Too slow, far too slow."
Saint Gilles mocked his opponent, yet his longsword mercilessly pierced the demon's chest.
But this sword strike was perfectly timed, severely injuring the opponent without killing them immediately.
The demon Khorne leaped up in fury to give chase, but Sangilius dodged, causing Skabrand to miss and strike the great demon Khorne in the back with his sword.
"Does it hurt a lot? Do you know the pain I've felt watching my own genetic offspring being slaughtered by you over these ten thousand years?" Saint Gilles said through gritted teeth.
Skabrand roared in agony as he turned around, and the Khorne archdeacon, having completely lost its mind, charged forward recklessly.
A glint flashed in Saint Gilles' eyes; it was time to end this war of revenge.
Finally, I can avenge those dead genetic offspring, damned Khorne demons.
Suddenly, the archangel transformed into a golden ray of light and pierced through Skabrand's chest with astonishing speed.
The holy flames erupting from the flaming greatsword within the demon's body burned it to ashes from the inside out.
"Farewell, you wretched creature." The terrifying holy fire utterly destroyed the Great Demon's soul, depriving him of even the right to return to the Bronze Throne of Khorne.
