I am not Yuan Shu

Chapter 103: Superstar in Luoyang City

Chapter 103: Superstar in Luoyang City

After thinking about it for a while, many people felt that what Yuan Shu said was not completely unreasonable. After all, who would think that they would be a vain person all their life and would never become the successor of a sage after reading the books of sages?

That's because they were beaten too many times, so they took on the attitude of a gangster to face the bleak life. Who didn't have a dream of becoming a saint when they were a child?
It's just waking up from a dream.

But now Yuan Shu seemed to be telling them that their dreams were never dreams but reality. The reason why they looked like dreams was because some people shamelessly covered up the brilliance of reality and made them think they were dreaming.

After this day's lecture, the entire Luoyang City's public opinion field seemed to have been paused.

Those who expected public opinion to continue bullying the Yuan family never expected that Yuan Shu's lecture would have such an effect.

After learning the specific content of the lectures, the eunuchs were naturally at a loss. Their cultural literacy was too low to support them in figuring out the ins and outs of it.

However, other forces in the court were able to more or less understand what Yuan Shu said and what his intention was, but they were completely unpredictable about the influence that Yuan Shu's lecture would have.

They don’t understand how something so false and empty can have such a big impact?

So many people have forgotten what this public opinion offensive was originally intended for!
And Yuan Shu obviously had no intention of stopping.

The next day, he sent someone out to announce that he would give lectures at the Imperial Academy.

So the spectacular scene of yesterday with huge crowds of people reappeared once again.

Zhang Hong and Wang Lang, who heard the news, both ran over.

Ma Riti simply entrusted all his work to Cai Yong and went away.

Cai Yong was furious, so he entrusted his work to his colleague Zhang Xun and went away.

After Yuan Shu finished his lecture yesterday, he arranged for people to inquire about the effect. The feedback he received made him very satisfied, so he struck while the iron was hot and continued his efforts. While no one was able to react, he launched another wave of verbal bombardment.

He ate mutton, drank honey water, and ate flatbread to recuperate his energy. He started his second "lecture" early the next morning.

Continuing with yesterday’s topic, I talked in depth about the importance of conscience and ideals, then began to explain in depth what conscience is and how to achieve conscience, and then talked about specific methodology.

As before, the feeling people get from what is written in a book to what the author passionately preaches in person is completely different.

Especially with Yuan Shu's superb speaking skills, the impact on people is directly doubled.

He walked back and forth on the podium, sometimes raising his fist to the sky, sometimes beating his chest and stamping his feet, his voice sometimes high-pitched, sometimes low, and even choking.

"What is the difference between a saint and other people? I think it is very simple. It lies in the fact that one acts according to one's conscience. For example, Yu Shun, although he lived in the mountains when he was young and had a hard life, he could distinguish right from wrong and knew what was right and what was wrong.

When he hears or sees the right thing, he will keep it in mind and do it when necessary. When he hears or sees the wrong thing, he will also keep it in mind to warn and spur himself not to do the same wrong thing.

When he saw someone helping someone in need, he would learn from him. When he saw someone bullying the weak, he would warn himself not to do the same thing. It was because he insisted on doing the right thing that his virtue was recognized by the people of the world, so he was elected as the common leader of the world..."

After finishing the morning lecture, Yuan Shu rushed back to Luoyang City from the Imperial College, ate a few mouthfuls of food, and in the afternoon he set up a podium near Kaiyang Gate and started lecturing again.

"The ancients admired the governance of the three ancient dynasties. What was the reason? Some said it was benevolence, some said it was virtue, and what the ancients admired was to act according to conscience, punish evil, eliminate evil, help the weak, suppress corruption, promote integrity, attach importance to agriculture, help farmers, and suppress unscrupulous merchants. These are the conduct of saints."

"But can't we do these things? No, we can do them, but why don't we do them? Because of fear, because of cowardice, because of intimidation by superiors, because of exclusion by colleagues, because of fear of losing our future, or even losing our lives, so we dare not act according to our conscience.

Because of fear and cowardice, they clearly have a conscience, but they just watch coldly. Can such people be considered people with conscience? Shu thinks that it is not possible. They have a conscience, but they know but do not act. If they do not act, it is the same as not knowing. How are they different from the walking dead controlled by desire? "

After finishing the first lecture in the afternoon, he continued west and started the second lecture in the afternoon inside Pingcheng Gate.

"If one person knows but does not act, then there is one more empty shell. If two people know but do not act, then there is another empty shell. If ten people know but do not act, if a hundred people know but do not act, then where is the conscience? This is the current dilemma, this is the reason for the crisis of survival!"

"How many unscrupulous people are there? Many, a lot! But are there few people with conscience? Many, absolutely many, but why has the world situation become so corrupt? It's because they know but don't act! Because they are afraid! Because they are cowardly! They regard conscience as nothing!"

"If people with conscience know but do not act, it is equivalent to handing over the power to control the world to unscrupulous people, to treacherous people! If so, treacherous people will play with power and exploit the people. How can the world prosper?"

One session in the morning and two sessions in the afternoon.

After finishing three lectures in one day, Yuan Shu was exhausted. He ended the day's lectures and returned to Yuan Mansion. He ate mutton, flatbread, and honey water three times in a row to replenish his energy. After dinner, Yuan Shu summoned Cheng Li, Wei Jia, Jia Xu, Xu Chong, Lian Da, Shao Yuan and other subordinates to instruct them on the content of the next lectures and asked them to arrange the locations of the three lectures tomorrow and the corresponding security work in advance.

And discuss with you a little bit about the content of tomorrow's lecture.

Then go to bed early and fall asleep immediately, never leaving fatigue for the next day.

The next morning, he got up early in the morning, had a hearty breakfast, drank goat's milk and ate eggs to replenish his nutrition, then he pulled himself together and rushed to the new day's speech battlefield.

For the first session in the morning, he came to the Imperial College again and continued to deliver a passionate speech in front of the huge crowd.

The first match in the afternoon was at Xiaoyuan Gate, and the second match was at Guangyang Gate. At sunset, he completed three fierce "battles" in one day.

Then came the fourth day, the fifth day, and the sixth day.

Every day, Yuan Shu gives three speeches. Every day, Yuan Shu expresses his views passionately in three different places, without fail, rain or shine.

It can be said that he has become a speech tool, a mechanical puppet who only knows how to give speeches and knows nothing else.

The continuous high-intensity output of emotions and content made Yuan Shu exhausted, and this fatigue could not be solved by sleeping or eating.

But what followed was that the situation in Luoyang was turned upside down and into a mess by Yuan Shu.

By May 21, everyone in Luoyang City knew Yuan Shu, Yuan's philosophy of mind, and the pursuit of conscience.

Even the common people living in the slums outside Luoyang City knew that a supernatural man had appeared in Luoyang City. He gave lectures every day with a loud voice that could be heard for miles. Many people listened to his speeches every day and were moved by his speeches.

As soon as merchants and officials from other places came to Luoyang city, they would find that people on the streets were enthusiastically discussing Yuan Shu, Zhiliangzhi, the unity of knowledge and action, and Yu Shun.

If they were lucky, they might even be able to catch Yuan Shu's speech and witness with their own eyes a large number of people swarming in from all directions and then disappearing as quickly as a swarm of locusts.

Because the speed was too fast and the scene was too shocking, these outsiders often could not see clearly who the people passing by them were.

All they could hear were shouts like “Yuan Jun is over there” or “Hurry up and grab a seat.”

This surprised them greatly.

When did such a superstar appear in Luoyang?
But no matter what, Yuan Shu is indeed a superstar in the entire Luoyang.

His popularity overshadowed everything else. No one cared about the previous wave of public opinion attacks, the tutoring controversy caused by the eunuchs, and the attack launched against the Yuan family by the official school of the Modern Literature School.

None of this matters anymore. There is no attention anymore and the heat has all dissipated.

Even though the eunuchs who were unwilling to give up were still sending people to spread the emperor's tutor's words everywhere, and the unwilling tutor Yang Ci continued to submit petitions asking the court for a clear answer, they failed to cause any waves.

Their actions were like throwing a stone into a cesspool, which had no effect other than splashing up a pool of feces and making them feel uncomfortable.

They have absolutely no idea how to generate traffic.

They have absolutely no understanding of the power of speech.

Now the front-page headlines, hot topics, and all traffic concentration points in Luoyang all point directly to the same person.

Yuan Shu!

Even the content of Yuan Shu's lectures has progressed from the initial promotion of Xinxue to the promotion of Yixinhui, and he has begun to attract talents to join Yixinhui to expand its influence!
He is about to start taking root in Luoyang!
He described the Yi Xin Society as a group of upright gentlemen, a place where a large group of people who were preparing to become sages could live before they embarked on the path to sagehood. Everyone united together, using conscience to fight desire, using justice to fight evil, and striving to expel all treacherous people!
The main reason was that Yuan Shu did not expect that his speeches over the past few days would have such a good effect in Luoyang City.

It took him several months to turn the situation around in Maoling County, but now it has only been seven days.

This means that Yuan Shu not only broke up a very hot whirlpool of public opinion, but also created a new hot spot of public opinion, which quickly heated up with himself as the center, so that no one paid attention to the previous public opinion anymore, and even if someone tried to bring it up again, it would be useless.

It's out of fashion and no one pays attention to it anymore.
