Chapter 446 Deceiving Kogoro Mori

Chapter 446 Deceiving Kogoro Mouri (1st Update)
The following evening, Shiraishi E went to a gym near the Mouri Detective Agency.

As he pushed open the gym door and entered, he was greeted by a complex mix of smells—a blend of sweat and fragrance—along with loud electronic music.

After looking around, he quickly locked his gaze on the figure in the corner—Kogoro Mouri.

The other person was leaning against the equipment, chatting and laughing with a hot female coach.

The female coach would occasionally put her hand on Maoli's shoulder, making the detective laugh so hard his eyes disappeared.

"This is exactly what I expected." Shiraishi sighed, but still didn't give up on the other person. Instead, she quickly walked through the equipment area.

"Excuse me." Shiraishi E stopped in front of the two of them, her voice as cold as ice.

He pulled out his badge from his suit pocket and flashed it in front of the female coach: "Metropolitan Police Department. I need to borrow this gentleman for a few minutes."

The female coach nodded and, understanding the situation, left.

Kogoro Mouri looked at E Shiraishi with a surprised expression and said, "When did you become a detective?"

"It's fake, just to fool her!" Shiraishi E smiled and took out the so-called document, which was just a wallet that looked like an ID card.

"Ah~~ Even I was fooled by you." Kogoro Mouri said with a sudden realization.

"Alright, stop exercising. Come with me." Shiraishi E gestured for Mouri Kogoro to leave with her.

"Go?" Kogoro Mouri said blankly, "I've only been training for one day. I just changed into my workout clothes!!"

“That’s life. Plans can never keep up with changes. There’s no time for you to train,” Shiraishi E said briefly, her voice low. “We’ll take action tonight. Now, go change your clothes. See you in the parking lot in five minutes.”

Without waiting for a response, Shiraishi E had already turned and left.

Kogoro Mouri had no choice but to return to the locker room, put his clothes back on, and leave the gym with his bag.

He felt inexplicably nervous and uneasy, unsure of what to do next, and his heart began to pound.

Or... should we just forget about it?

Hurry up and see what Shiraishi is doing. It's very dangerous. If we really get involved, there might be no way out.

Lost in his thoughts, Kogoro Mouri arrived at the parking lot and saw Emi Shiraishi driving a black Audi.

He hesitated for a moment, but finally opened the passenger door and got in.

"Can I back out now?" The words that were about to come out of Kogoro Mouri's mouth turned into "What are you going to do?"

He still didn't want to lose face in front of Shiraishi E!

I'm almost twenty years older than this kid. If he can do it, why can't I?

"You'll find out soon enough." As Shiraishi E spoke, she stepped on the gas and drove away from the parking lot.

"What exactly happened?" Kogoro Mouri fastened his seatbelt, his voice trembling with unease. "I thought we had at least a week to prepare."

Shiraishi E drove her black Audi onto the main road: "The intelligence has arrived. Intelligence waits for no one, so we must take action."

He answered briefly, tapping his fingers lightly on the steering wheel: "We're meeting someone tonight."

"Who?"

“Kuroda Hyoue.” Shiraishi E glanced at the rearview mirror and saw that Mouri Kogoro didn’t seem surprised, only confused.

He later added, "Director of the Public Security Police Intelligence Department."

"Public security police?" Kogoro Mouri looked shocked when he heard the name.

He stared at Shiraishi E in disbelief and couldn't help but ask, "Are you a police officer?"

“No, I work for the Public Security Bureau.” Shiraishi E was very satisfied with Kogoro Mouri’s reaction.

Using the name of the police to deceive the other party is a very effective method!
After all, the other party is a criminal police officer, so they are naturally on the side of "justice".

If you suddenly say that you are a big bad guy, a complete villain, the other person probably won't be able to accept it.

"Working for the Public Security Bureau? What does that mean?" Kogoro Mouri asked, somewhat bewildered.

“I’ll do what’s convenient for the Japanese Public Security Ministry,” Shiraishi E replied simply.

"Ah~~~ It's like a white glove, isn't it?" Kogoro Mouri nodded knowingly.

Shiraishi E felt the complex gaze from Kogoro Mouri—surprise, awe, and perhaps a hint of sudden realization.

Clearly, they've already succeeded in convincing most of them.

The car drove into the underground parking lot of a high-end hotel. After parking, the two took the elevator up. Kogoro Mouri nervously adjusted his tie, and fine beads of sweat appeared on his forehead.

"Relax," Shiraishi said softly. "Mr. Kuroda may seem serious, but he's very reasonable."

"Mr. Kuroda? Who is that?" Kogoro Mouri asked quickly.

“…Didn’t I just say? The director of the Public Security Police Intelligence Department.” Shiraishi E looked at the other person speechlessly. “Oh…right, you said that.” Mouri Kogoro chuckled twice and said, “Isn’t this just nerve-wracking?”

Shiraishi E could see that his fingers were trembling with nervousness, which she couldn't help but find somewhat amusing.

The elevator stopped on the 7th floor with a "ding," and the two walked along the thickly carpeted corridor to the suite door at the end.

Shiraishi knocked on the door, and soon footsteps came from inside before the door opened silently.

The man standing inside the door was tall with striking white hair, his right eye covered by a black eye patch, and his left eye as sharp as an eagle's.

He was wearing a dark gray suit, and his whole being exuded an undeniable air of authority.

When Kogoro Mouri saw the other person's fierce face for the first time, he became even more nervous.

After observing Kogoro Mouri's reaction, Shiraishi E completely let go of the matter.

The other party is so nervous and scared that they definitely can't realize that the "Kuroda Hei" in front of them is actually Akemi in disguise.

"Come in," Kuroda Hyōe's voice was deep and powerful.

Once inside the suite, he gestured for the two to sit down, while he stood by the window, looking at the Tokyo night view with his back to them.

"Kogoro Mouri" and "Hyoue Kuroda" spoke up: "I've seen your file. You had excellent grades at the police academy, and your crime-solving rate was quite good during your tenure. Reason for resignation: family circumstances."

When Kogoro Mori saw that he had been called on, he quickly stood up and said, "Yes, sir."

“Shiraishi-kun admires you and thinks you are very capable.” Kuroda Hyōe turned around and said, “This mission is very dangerous, and we need reliable people.”

Shiraishi noticed Mori swallowing and knew he was processing the information.

When Kuroda mentioned the word "danger," Kogoro Mouri became even more nervous, but quickly regained his composure: "I will do my best."

Kuroda Hyōe could tell from Kogoro Mouri's expression that he had been fooled. Without saying anything more, he pressed a key on his laptop, and an architectural floor plan was projected onto the wall.

“The target is Kenzo Masuyama, a veteran of a transnational crime syndicate, codenamed ‘Pisco.’” His voice grew more serious. “He will be resting at his mansion tonight; this is our perfect opportunity.”

"According to intelligence, Kenzo Masuyama is surrounded by at least twenty armed bodyguards," Kuroda Hyōe said calmly. "These men are well-trained and equipped with automatic weapons. Your mission is to capture Kenzo Masuyama by any means necessary!"

“Okay,” Shiraishi E said decisively.

Kogoro Mouri opened his mouth, but then decided it was best not to make a sound.

“Time is of the essence.” Kuroda Hyōe took a metal key out of his pocket and pushed it to Shiraishi E: “I have prepared the equipment you need. The operation must be completed before 1 a.m., otherwise the target may move.”

Shiraishi E put away the key, got up and left.

Kogoro Mouri also stood up, his movements somewhat stiff.

I never expected to receive such a huge task right from the start!
"Furthermore," Kogoro Mori added before leaving, echoing Kuroda Hyōe's words, "as always, if any members of your group are captured or murdered, I will declare that I know nothing about any of your actions."

"Huh?" Kogoro Mouri was startled and couldn't help but turn around to look at "Kuroda Hyoue" to see if he was joking with him.

But the other person had already turned their back. He glanced at Shiraishi E, who didn't react, and finally followed.

Stepping out of the suite and taking the elevator downstairs, Kogoro Mouri spoke the moment the doors closed, "Wait, Shiraishi! What did Commander Kuroda mean by that just now?"

"Isn't it clear enough?" Shiraishi said unhurriedly, "Our operation is a private one. Whatever happens has nothing to do with him."

"So... if we get caught, we're doomed?" Kogoro Mouri said, somewhat disbelievingly.

“Yes.” Shiraishi E nodded, looking at Kogoro Mouri with a half-smile, and said, “If you want to back out now, it’s not too late. This is not an ordinary operation; if it fails, you may die.”

Kogoro Mouri finally understood why Shiraishi E looked different from others.

They've been on the brink of life and death, and they've become indifferent to life and death. How can it be the same for them?

His eyes flickered for a few seconds, and finally he sighed and said, "Well, now that things have come to this, I have no choice."

"If you succeed, that's fine... but if you fail, Kuroda Hyōe will definitely kill me to silence me!"

"Rather than waiting to die at home, I'd rather take a gamble with you!"

Shiraishi E smiled and said, "You're quite clever now... Don't worry, you won't fail."

"Sigh... I don't know where your confidence comes from." Kogoro Mouri shook his head, feeling that E Shiraishi was a bit arrogant.

Going to someone's home to arrest them requires dealing with at least twenty armed bodyguards.

He would have a hard time taking down even one armed bodyguard, let alone twenty.

Thinking about this, he felt like he had fallen into a pit... no, he had found a pit and jumped into it.

If he had known this would happen, he would have been better off staying at home and doing nothing.
