Chapter 447 Kogoro Mouri's Shock
Chapter 447 Kogoro Mouri's Shock (2 Updates)
Emi Shiraishi drove her black Audi through a desolate industrial area on the outskirts of Tokyo.
Most of the surrounding factory buildings were abandoned, the iron fences were covered with rust, and the streetlights flickered on and off.
Kogoro Mouri sat in the passenger seat, his fingers unconsciously tapping his knee, glancing out the window every now and then, clearly both nervous and expectant about the armory he was about to meet.
The car eventually stopped in front of an inconspicuous gray warehouse.
Shiraishi E got out of the car, walked to the rusty iron gate, opened it with a key, and then there was another combination lock.
After he entered the password, the heavy metal door slowly slid open, revealing complete darkness inside.
"Come in." Shiraishi E gestured to Mori to follow.
As soon as Kogoro Mouri stepped into the warehouse, the door behind him was closed again.
In the darkness, he heard Shiraishi E press the switch—
"Snapped!"
In an instant, blinding white light poured down from the ceiling, illuminating the entire warehouse. Mori instinctively squinted, but when he saw what was before him, his pupils dilated suddenly, his mouth opened involuntarily, and he froze on the spot.
"This this……"
His voice was stuck in his throat, and he could barely utter a complete sentence.
The warehouse in front of us was not an ordinary storage room at all, but a small armory!
On the metal racks on both sides, a variety of weapons are neatly displayed, from the classic Beretta 92F pistol to the powerful MP5 submachine gun, to the military-grade M4A1 automatic rifle, and even a few Remington 870 shotguns and Barrett M82 heavy sniper rifles.
On the innermost shelf, several RPG-7 rocket launchers were prominently displayed, surrounded by piles of rocket shells, their metal casings gleaming coldly under the lights.
Kogoro Mouri's breathing quickened. Like a child walking into a toy store, his eyes widened, and his finger trembled as he pointed at the weapons.
"This...this is an HK416? The kind used by US special forces?!"
"Wait, that's... a PKM machine gun?!"
"My God, they even have RPGs?! Your police equipment is way too over-the-top!"
He couldn't resist rushing over and carefully stroking a Desert Eagle, then turning to look at the P90 submachine gun on the other side, as excited as a military enthusiast touching a real gun for the first time.
"If those guys at the Metropolitan Police Department saw this, they'd be scared to death..." he muttered to himself, then shook his head and sighed, "No, let alone the Metropolitan Police Department, even if the SAT (Special Assault Team) came, they'd be dumbfounded!"
Shiraishi leaned against the wall, arms crossed, a slight smile playing on her lips, clearly enjoying Mori's shocked expression.
"How about it?" he chuckled. "With all this stuff, do you think I still can't break in and drag Masuyama Kenzo out?"
Kogoro Mouri turned around abruptly, nodding frantically, his voice trembling slightly with excitement:
"Yes! Yes! Absolutely!!" He waved his arms, pointing at the weapons: "With these guys here, let alone twenty armed bodyguards, even two hundred could be blasted to smithereens!!"
In his excitement, he couldn't help but ask, "How did the police get so much equipment? Why don't they use it to deal with that ruthless bandit, Azu?"
Shiraishi Hui smiled and said, "These weapons were all abandoned by the bandit Azu... We picked them up and recycled them."
"Huh?" Kogoro Mouri was immediately surprised, not expecting that he had found it.
Shiraishi continued, "Yes, that way even if the police retrieve the guns and ammunition we left at the scene for investigation, they won't be able to trace it back to the Public Security Bureau."
"I see!" Kogoro Mouri nodded in understanding, finally realizing that they were going to use the bandits' guns.
That's a really good way to shift the blame!
Shiraishi E reminded him, "Don't just look around, choose your equipment."
He pointed to the bulletproof vest and tactical vest next to him: "These two are especially important; they can save your life."
Kogoro Mouri then came to his senses, nodded hurriedly, and rushed towards the armor section.
"Staying alive is the most important thing! Staying alive is the most important thing!" he muttered, grabbing a Level III bulletproof vest and putting it on.
"Can this thing stop rifle bullets?" He tapped the bulletproof plate on his chest and asked uncertainly.
Without looking up, Shiraishi replied, "At close range, a 7.62mm bullet might break your ribs, but it won't kill you."
Kogoro Mori swallowed hard, but quickly rallied and began selecting a weapon. "Indoor combat, a short gun is more convenient..." he muttered to himself, picking up a Glock 17, checking the magazine with a slight expression, and only inserting it into the holster after confirming it was in good condition.
Then he picked up an MP5K submachine gun, and stuffed several fragmentation grenades and flashbangs, as well as a dozen magazines, into his tactical vest.
Once he felt the weight was about right, and any more would hinder his movements, Kogoro Mori stopped.
But when he turned to look at Shiraishi E, he froze again.
Shiraishi E wasn't wearing a bulletproof vest at all; she just casually threw on a black tactical jacket, carried two RPG rocket launchers, and had her backpack stuffed with rockets. Apart from that, she didn't even bring a pistol.
"Hey! You...you don't carry a gun for self-defense?!" Mori asked, his eyes wide with disbelief.
Shiraishi E said casually, as if she were shopping at a convenience store: "No need, we can just steal it from the enemy."
Kogoro Mouri paused for two seconds, then suddenly slapped his forehead: "That's right! How come I didn't think of that!"
He immediately put the Glock 17, MP5K submachine gun and related magazines back on the shelf, then picked up two AA-12 fully automatic shotguns, filled the ammunition belts with 12-gauge slugs, and grinned, "These things are invincible in close combat, one shot, one kill, much more satisfying than a pistol!"
"It's a pity the weight wasn't enough, otherwise I could have taken another one!!"
Seeing his excited expression, Shiraishi E understood completely.
He was just as excited back then.
But after playing it so many times, you gradually get used to it.
That simple joy we once had can never be found again.
"Ready?" he asked.
Kogoro Mouri nodded vigorously, patting his gear: "We're ready to go anytime!"
The two left the warehouse and returned to their car.
Shiraishi started the engine, and the black sedan silently drove into the darkness, speeding towards Masuyama Kenzo's residence.
Kogoro Mori gazed at the scenery rushing past the window, gripped his shotgun tightly, and felt his heart race.
The thought of what he was going to do made him tremble uncontrollably.
But now that things have come to this, there's no going back; he has no choice but to bite the bullet and go for it!
During the journey, Kogoro Mouri couldn't help but recall his past, examining every little detail of his past.
He felt that if he didn't reminisce now, he probably wouldn't have anything to reminisce about later.
The car eventually stopped at a secluded spot a few hundred meters away from the Masuyama residence.
Shiraishi E took out a bandit mask, handed it to Mouri Kogoro, and said, "Put it on."
"Huh? Wear this?" Kogoro Mouri took the mask and paused for a moment, then suddenly realized, "I get it! This is to frame that ruthless bandit, Azu, right?"
"That's right, we can't expose our identities!"
"And we can also use the infamous name of the notorious bandit A-Zu to scare others!"
As he spoke, he deftly put on the bandit mask.
"No way," Kogoro Mouri said, touching the lower half of his face. "People will still see the lower half of my face... My mustache is so obvious, it's easy for them to spot me."
"Then I'll get you a different one." Shiraishi E bought a bandit hood that only revealed the eyes and mouth from the bandit shop and handed it to Mouri Kogoro.
"This is more like it." Kogoro Mouri returned the bandit mask to Emi Shiraishi, then happily put on the bandit hood himself. He looked at himself in the rearview mirror and nodded in satisfaction.
After confirming that the communicator was working properly, Shiraishi E said, "Alright, let's go!"
After donning the bandit mask and reverting to his former identity as the notorious bandit Azu, he got out of the car and retrieved an RPG rocket launcher and a bag of ammunition from the trunk.
"Okay!" Kogoro Mouri quickly put on his tactical gloves, took a deep breath, and got out of the car.
The two got out of the car and silently disappeared into the darkness, stealthily making their way toward their target.
