I'm in Conan, I'm not a gangster

Chapter 563 Member Recruitment

Chapter 563 Member Recall (1st Update)
In the amusement park where the smoke of battle had not yet dissipated, Shiraishi E casually tossed aside the empty RPG launcher in her hand.

A crisp sound of metal striking the ground rang out. He turned to look at Vermouth, who was standing not far away, and asked rudely, "So you were involved in this operation? Why didn't you let us know?"

Vermouth spread her hands, making a helpless gesture: "My phone has been confiscated. Come and check if you don't believe me."

"Let's do the inspection!" Shiraishi E strode towards her.

Before Vermouth could react, he had already reached out and begun searching.

First, he grabbed the coat pocket, his movements so rough they almost tore the expensive trench coat apart. Vermouth frowned, but before she could protest, Shiraishi's hand had already slid towards her waist.

“Hey, you—” Vermouth’s voice suddenly stopped.

Shiraishi E's hands rummaged unceremoniously through every possible hiding place on her body, from her waist to her legs, and even unabashedly checked the hidden pocket on her chest.

This thorough search instantly froze the usually composed Vermouth!
Vermouth blushed instantly when Shiraishi's fingers examined the hidden pocket on the inside of her thigh.

She had never been searched like this in her entire life!
Shame and anger made her breathing rapid.

But she held back her outburst.

After all, it was indeed her failure to provide timely intelligence that led to Shiraishi E and the others being ambushed.

"Are you satisfied now?" Vermouth finally pushed him away when Shiraishi's hand moved towards her waist again.

Her voice held an unusual annoyance, "Alright, alright, how long do you intend to keep searching?"

After being pushed away, Shiraishi E adopted a self-righteous expression: "Perhaps I was careless the first time."

He paused, looking at Vermouth's flushed face, and smiled slightly. "But whatever, considering how long we've known each other, I'll choose to believe you one more time."

Vermouth almost laughed in anger.

She straightened her disheveled clothes and took several deep breaths to calm herself down.

Shiraishi E changed the subject at the opportune moment, saying, "Now, explain to me what's going on?"

Vermouth sighed, listening to the distant sound of sirens, though they were still far away. She still had time to explain.

"Wasn't Kudo Yusaku attacked before?" she lowered her voice. "The Boss recalled some members from overseas this time to back him up."

"But these guys were used to being lawless outside, and when they came back they wanted to make some extra money, so they joined forces to plan the kidnapping of Sonoko Suzuki."

"No wonder these guys are so powerful, it turns out a large group of official members joined forces!" Shiraishi E suddenly realized, then remembered that these guys went to help Yusaku.

If I do this, won't I be indirectly weakening Yuzaku's side?
He felt inexplicably guilty and then asked, "We've already deployed several armed helicopters, and we're still short of money?"

“Those are the organization’s assets, not his personal property.” Vermouth sneered. “Now that he’s dead, he can’t compensate for all those damaged helicopters.”

She paused, a sly smile playing on her lips: "Fortunately, I was just a bystander this time, so no one can blame me."

Shiraishi E nodded, "That's true."

“Other members of the organization will appear later,” Vermouth said with amusement. “You’ve really made a splash in this operation; be more careful when you’re out on the streets in the future.”

Shiraishi E rubbed her temples, saying with a headache, "Can't you help me keep it a secret?"

Vermouth suddenly burst out laughing, the sound echoing through the amusement park ticket: "The scene of you firing the cannon and shooting down the plane was so impressive, no one else could possibly not know about it!"

Shiraishi E sighed deeply: "This is troublesome."

“That’s a notorious problem!” Vermouth teased, then her tone suddenly softened. “Are those two kids alright?” “With me here, what could possibly happen to them?” Shiraishi E’s tone was full of confidence.

Vermouth seemed relieved.

Just then, the roar of a car engine came from afar, and the blinding headlights pierced the night.

"The Suzuki family has arrived." Vermouth quickly took a few steps back and said, "I should go too."

Shiraishi E didn't try to stop him, she just waved her hand and said, "Remember to let me know in advance next time."

Vermouth's figure had disappeared into the darkness, only her last words echoing in the night wind: "It depends on my mood!"

Shiraishi E shook her head and turned back to cooperate with Koran Sonoko.

------------------

The matter was ultimately suppressed. The Suzuki Group mobilized all its resources to minimize the impact of this dramatic kidnapping case.

In media reports, this meticulously planned kidnapping of the second daughter of the Suzuki family was downplayed as "the ruthless gangster Azu's latest outburst"—a random attack by a habitual offender, rather than a premeditated act against the Suzuki family. The police also released a vague statement, attributing the amusement park explosion and gunfight to a "gang shootout," even deliberately avoiding overly exaggerated details like "armed helicopters."

Of course, this kind of claim might fool ordinary people, but it's completely meaningless to those forces that actually have intelligence.

All parties involved are well aware that an organization capable of mobilizing such armed forces is no ordinary criminal gang.

What they cared about even more was the man who stepped forward in the chaos and even single-handedly repelled the attackers—Emi Shiraishi.

His name spread throughout high society circles overnight.

When Shiraishi E, Sonoko, and Ran returned to the Suzuki Manor, the entire mansion was brightly lit, and the butler and servants were already lined up at the door waiting for them.

The Suzuki couple and their eldest daughter Ayako hurried out to greet them, their anxiety finally turning into ecstatic joy the moment they saw Sonoko.

"Sonoko!" Tomoko Suzuki was the first to rush forward, pulling her daughter into her arms, her voice trembling slightly, "Are you alright? Are you hurt?"

Sonoko smiled a little sheepishly: "Mom, I'm fine! It's all thanks to Shiraishi-kun and Ran..."

Shiro Suzuki quickly stepped forward, grasped E Shiraishi's hand tightly, and said with gratitude in his eyes, "Shiraishi-kun, thank you so much this time!"

His voice was low and solemn, clearly indicating that he was aware of the seriousness of the matter.

Ayako Suzuki stood to the side, bowing deeply, her long, flowing hair cascading down her back. Her tone was sincere and earnest: "Shiraishi-kun, we really owe you a debt of gratitude this time. If it weren't for you, Sonoko..."

She paused, seemingly unable to imagine the worst possible outcome, and then solemnly thanked her again, "Thank you."

Shiraishi E waved her hand, her tone calm: "You're too kind. Sonoko is my friend, of course I won't stand idly by."

Tomoko Suzuki wiped her eyes, quickly regained her elegant demeanor, and gave a gentle smile: "You haven't had dinner yet, have you? I've already had dinner prepared, please have something to eat first."

She turned to Ayako and said, "Ayako, you take Shiraishi-kun and Ran to the restaurant first. Your father and I will take Sonoko upstairs to find out the details."

Ayako nodded in agreement and smiled as she said to Shiraishi E and Ran, "Please follow me, ladies."

Shiraishi glanced at Sonoko, who winked at him to indicate that she was alright, and then was taken upstairs by her parents.

Meanwhile, Shiraishi E followed Ayako and Ran toward the restaurant.
