Chapter 653 Have you seen The Bourne Legacy? (1st update)
More than an hour later, Yumi Miyamoto drove her black minivan and finally arrived at the area surrounding Haneda Airport.
Instead of heading towards the regular passenger entrance, they followed the instructions on the tablet and detoured to the relatively secluded private aircraft and cargo area.
The vehicle was eventually parked in a shadowy corner, several hundred meters away from the target hangar.
This location allows you to observe the hangar entrance without being too conspicuous.
"Alright, get ready to move out." Shiraishi E lowered her voice, breaking the silence in the car.
He opened the travel bag full of weapons; the cold metallic gleam shimmered faintly in the dimly lit car.
“Everyone take a pistol, and keep the spare magazines handy. Officer Miike, here’s one,” he handed her a relatively small-looking one. “The safety is here, don’t hesitate if it matters.”
Miwako Sato skillfully inspected the Glock pistol she had been assigned, ejected the magazine to confirm it was full, and then clicked it back in—her movements were clean and efficient.
Yumi Miyamoto took a deep breath, then tucked the pistol into her lower back and covered it with the hem of her coat.
Miike Naeko took the weapon with trembling hands, feeling its icy touch weigh more than a thousand pounds. She carefully put it into her large satchel, as if it were a bomb that could explode at any moment.
“Remember, do not fire first unless absolutely necessary. Our primary objective is to assess the situation, gather evidence, and ensure our own safety,” Sato Miwako whispered, glancing especially at the tense Miike Naeko.
Once everything was ready, the four men once again took on the role of "deliverymen," laboriously dragging the four enormous suitcases containing the unconscious traffickers off the vehicle.
Shiraishi E walked at the front, holding the ID card and pass that she had confiscated from the middle-aged man.
They followed the planned route to the designated, unassuming entrance to the side staff passage of the giant hangar.
Sure enough, at the entrance, two men in airport security uniforms, with sharp eyes and strong builds, raised their hands to stop them.
"Stop! What are you doing?" one of them asked coldly, his gaze sweeping over them and the few conspicuous suitcases.
Shiraishi E immediately put on a formulaic, slightly obsequious smile, stepped forward, and lowered her voice to say the coded message on the tablet: "Mr. Yamakaze's 'special craft' has arrived on time."
His tone was natural and fluent, as if he had said it countless times before.
Upon hearing the code, the security personnel's tense expressions instantly relaxed, and their wary eyes softened considerably.
He nodded, whispered into his earpiece, "The delivery has arrived, the code is correct," and then stepped aside to make way: "Go in, go straight to position three."
"Thank you." Shiraishi E nodded slightly, gesturing for the three women behind her to follow.
The four people dragged their suitcases, the wheels making a dull rolling sound on the smooth cement floor, echoing inside the empty hangar.
Upon entering the hangar, the space suddenly opened up.
Under the enormous dome, a sleek white private jet was parked, with no obvious airline markings on its fuselage.
But what's even more eye-catching is the security force inside the hangar.
Sato Miwako's sharp gaze swept quickly around her surroundings, and her heart sank.
She saw armed personnel in ground crew uniforms, carrying MP5s or similar automatic rifles, standing in every strategic corner of the hangar—on both sides of the entrance, beside the aircraft stairs, and even on the high maintenance platform.
These people were no ordinary security guards; their posture, the way they held their guns, and their cold, sweeping gazes all exuded a menacing aura of those who had undergone rigorous military training.
At least five or six pairs of eyes were fixed on the four of them, maintaining a silent but extremely oppressive vigilance.
Miwako Sato had no doubt that if they made any suspicious moves, those gun barrels would unhesitatingly spit fire and turn them into sieves in an instant.
Realizing this, she broke out in a cold sweat. She forcibly suppressed her police instincts and dared not make any unnecessary movements. She simply lowered her head and pretended to pack her suitcase.
At this moment, the security guard who had checked the code earlier walked over with a tablet computer and said in a businesslike tone, "Open it and do the final confirmation."
Shiraishi cooperated by crouching down and unlocking each suitcase one by one, lifting the lids to reveal the "cargo" inside, tightly bound and still unconscious. The security personnel used a tablet to carefully compare the faces of each "cargo" with photos, and even used their fingers to check their carotid arteries to confirm they were still alive.
The atmosphere throughout was oppressively suffocating. Miyamoto Yumi and Miike Naeko felt as if the muzzles of those rifles were pressed against their backs, and they unconsciously lowered their breaths.
Emi Shiraishi maintained that calm, even somewhat numb, "delivery person" expression throughout.
"Yes, the information is correct." The security personnel finally finished confirming, straightened up, and waved into the distance.
Immediately, two people dressed in ground crew uniforms pushed a flatbed cart over and roughly dragged the four unconscious human traffickers out of their suitcases, threw them onto the cart like cargo, and then pushed it toward the cargo door of the plane.
The security guard made a few moves on the tablet to complete the electronic signature process, then said to Shiraishi E, "Alright, it's been signed for. The money will be transferred as usual. You can leave now."
His tone carried a hint of dismissal, clearly not wanting them to linger for even a second longer. "Okay, thank you for your hard work." Shiraishi E remained calm and composed, nodding without any unnecessary words or scrutiny.
He turned around decisively and gave the three women a wink: "Let's go."
Sato Miwako, Miyamoto Yumi, and Miike Naeko felt as if they had been granted a pardon and immediately followed in his footsteps, dragging their empty suitcases and trying to keep their pace steady as they walked out along the original path.
They could clearly feel the cold, scrutinizing gazes following them until they walked out of the hangar side door and returned to the relatively open outdoors.
After walking nearly a hundred meters back to where they parked, the four of them quickly stuffed the empty suitcases back into the trunk, got into the car, and Miyamoto Yumi finally let out a long breath, feeling as if her heart was about to jump out of her chest.
"Oh my god... that was terrifying..." Miike Naeko patted her chest, her voice still trembling, "Those people... those guns..."
Miwako Sato nodded solemnly: "The defenses are extremely tight, almost like military-style management. This organization's power is far greater and more dangerous than we imagined."
Shiraishi E's gaze remained sharp as she peered through the car window toward the hangar: "The cargo has been 'delivered,' and the plane will be taking off soon."
Upon hearing this, Miwako Sato turned to look at him with some surprise: "How did you know they were about to take off? We just came out... and there didn't seem to be anything unusual happening at the hangar."
Shiraishi E raised the corners of his mouth, revealing a sly smile. He raised his hand and tapped his ear with his finger: "Before stuffing them into the suitcases at the Tomizawa Hotel, I planted miniature listening devices on those human traffickers."
"I heard the last conversation inside. The crew is doing the final pre-flight checks, and the tower has given clearance. We expect to push the aircraft out of the hangar in ten minutes."
Miyamoto Yumi finally understood, but then became even more anxious, her hands unconsciously gripping the steering wheel: "A bug?! Then... then what should we do next?"
"We can't... we can't just go back with the four of us and a few pistols, can we?"
The image of the four of them rushing into the hangar and being riddled with bullets by a dozen automatic rifles had already flashed through her mind.
Upon hearing her words, Shiraishi E actually stroked her chin, looking like she was seriously considering it, and even smiled: "Hmm... if you want, I don't really have a big objection. Maybe it can catch you off guard?"
"Absolutely not!!" Miike Naoko in the back seat was so frightened she almost jumped up, waving her hands frantically in front of her chest, her voice trembling with tears.
"This is too dangerous!! He'll die! He'll definitely die! Senior Sato, please tell him!" She looked at Sato Miwako anxiously.
Sato Miwako glared at Shiraishi E, annoyed. "Shiraishi-kun! What time is it? Stop making jokes like that!"
"Since you've already planted the bugging device, you must have a plan for the next step, right? Tell me!"
Seeing that she had successfully enlivened the atmosphere, Shiraishi E nodded without keeping everyone in suspense any longer.
But what he said next was even more shocking than his previous "joke." With an almost manic excitement on his face, he asked, "Have you seen *The Bourne Legacy*?"
"Huh?" "What?" "Eh?"
The three women froze, their faces filled with bewilderment and astonishment, completely unable to keep up with his abrupt change of thought.
At a time when life and death are at stake, why are we suddenly talking about movies?
Miwako Sato frowned: "Isn't this the time to talk about movies?"
Yumi Miyamoto looked puzzled: "What's wrong with me not having seen this movie?"
Naeko Miike was completely bewildered: "Is there such a movie?"
Seeing that they didn't react, Shiraishi E had no choice but to reveal the answer directly. He said in a casual tone, as if he were saying, "The weather is nice today," "It's that classic scene—we rush over and climb onto the plane just as it starts taxiing and is about to take off!"
A deathly silence fell over the car.
A full three seconds passed.
"Are you crazy?!" Sato Miwako was the first to exclaim in shock, she simply couldn't believe her ears.
Climbing onto a plane that's accelerating for takeoff? That's not a plan, that's suicide!
Yumi Miyamoto's face also turned pale, and she shook her head vigorously: "This joke isn't funny at all!! Not funny at all! That's an airplane! Not a bus!!"
She even suspected that Shiraishi E might be under too much pressure and had gone insane.
Miike Naeko was terrified by this insane plan. She curled up into a ball, shaking her head frantically, her voice trembling so much she was almost incoherent: "We can't...we can't do it! These things...they're all lies in the movies! How could we possibly do it! We'd get caught in the engine and smashed into a pulp! Absolutely not!"
She'd rather face the gunmen in the hangar right now than try something so far-fetched.
Shiraishi E looked at the three people reacting so strongly, but the smile on her face did not diminish at all.
