Dreaming for 10,000 years
Chapter 375 Glutton
Chapter 375 Glutton
Linghu Chong squinted and carefully examined the strange child hanging upside down from the tree branch.
He was about twelve or thirteen years old, with a head of unruly, spiky black hair, his blue clothes covered in dust, and a short red stick slung across his back.
Most striking of all was the fluffy brown tail wrapped around his waist, which was now swaying gently with his snoring.
"Is he human?" Lu Xiaofeng's pockmarked face was filled with astonishment. He had traveled the martial world for many years, but had never seen such a strange creature.
“It should be!” Linghu Chong carefully examined the child, and seeing how soundly he was sleeping, he said, “Wouldn’t he get hurt falling from such a height? How can he still be sleeping like that?”
"How strange!"
Lu Xiaofeng said, "It is indeed strange."
"What's so strange about that!" Shi Fei's voice suddenly came from behind. He was now standing in the courtyard, bathed in the silvery moonlight.
He shook his head helplessly: "Another one has come. What does he think this place is? An inn? Wake him up!"
"Oh! Okay!" Linghu Chong quickly reached out to take it.
The moment his fingers touched the child's body, an astonishing weight struck him. This seemingly small body was much heavier than that of an adult man.
Then he shook the child, waking him up from his sleep.
"Hmm," the child was shaken awake, rubbing his sleepy eyes, and his first words left the three speechless: "Ah~ Have you eaten?"
"..." Linghu Chong was both amused and exasperated. He felt this guy was a complete idiot. He asked softly, "Who are you? Where are you from?"
"Huh? Who are you? My name is Sun Wukong!" The young Sun Wukong sprang up with a somersault, staring wide-eyed at the three people in front of him. Then he looked around and asked in confusion, "Where is this?"
"This is my home," Shi Fei said, watching the young Sun Wukong's tail wag restlessly.
"Then I..." Sun Wukong was about to say something when he suddenly touched his neck, his expression changing drastically as he said, "Oh dear, my grandfather is gone."
“Isn’t your grandfather me?” Shi Fei turned his head and looked at Sun Wukong.
"Huh?" Sun Wukong was taken aback, then glanced at Shi Fei and said, "You're lying!" He then touched his body and frantically searched his pockets, his movements so fast that they left afterimages, but he still couldn't find the four-star Dragon Ball.
"Oh no! My grandpa is missing!" He was extremely anxious, constantly looking around to see if the four-star object had landed on the ground.
"No need to look, your grandfather isn't here!" Shi Fei said.
"Then I'm going to find Grandpa!" Sun Wukong was about to leave the courtyard in a flustered manner when Lu Xiaofeng grabbed him.
"Wait! This is a dream, of course there's no grandfather here! Besides, it's all desert outside, where are you going to find your grandfather?" Lu Xiaofeng felt that this little guy was unusually heavy.
How could he let a child rush into the desert? Wouldn't that be suicide?
"A dream?" Sun Wukong's eyes widened, his dark, clear pupils filled with curiosity. "Is this a dream?"
“Yes!” Lu Xiaofeng said with a smile, “We are in a dream where as long as we plant trees, we will have food.”
"Food?" Sun Wukong was instantly drawn to the food and said, "Food even in dreams?"
Linghu Chong chimed in, "Not only is there food, but it's delicious. There's nothing outside except sand; you'll go hungry." The words "hungry" seemed to have a magical power, and Sun Wukong was immediately startled. He looked at Linghu Chong and Lu Xiaofeng, tempted by the food, the unfamiliar environment, his vanished grandfather, and this strange "dream."
The sheer volume of information overwhelmed the naive boy. Since his grandfather's death, his days consisted of hunting, eating, and sleeping.
"It's getting dark, let's go to sleep. We can talk about it tomorrow." Shi Fei waved to the three of them and went back into the house.
As the master of this place, Shi Fei no longer needed sleep. But Lu Xiaofeng and Linghu Chong were different; they still had to plant trees tomorrow, and they couldn't afford to be without energy.
"Come sleep with me!" Lu Xiaofeng patted Sun Wukong on the shoulder. "My room is more spacious."
His room was indeed a bit more spacious.
"Huh?" Sun Wukong was taken aback, his spiky black hair standing out clearly in the moonlight: "Can't I sleep here?" He said, and started to lie down on the sand.
Linghu Chong quickly stopped him: "It's chilly at night, and the ground is cold." He pointed to the simple but tidy little house, "There's a bed inside."
"I feel great!" Sun Wukong was already lying down comfortably, his tail sweeping a small crater in the sand. "I usually sleep like this, sometimes I even sleep in trees!"
“…What a tragedy!” Lu Xiaofeng sighed, the image of the child huddled alone among the branches flashing through his mind. He asked, “Where are your family?”
“I had a grandfather, but one day he was killed by a terrible enemy,” Sun Wukong said with a hint of melancholy. “So, I’m all alone now.”
"Come on, come on! Sleep with me!" Lu Xiaofeng grabbed Sun Wukong without saying a word, his pockmarked face full of heartache. That night, he insisted on giving his bed to this strange boy, while he himself slept on the floor.
As dawn broke, Lu Xiaofeng, like a true elder brother, mysteriously said to Sun Wukong, "In Boss Shi's black bag, there are two innate gods and demons who can make all the delicacies in the world! Eat as much as you want later!"
"Hmm!" Sun Wukong's eyes lit up instantly.
When Shi Fei started taking the dishes out of the black bag, his mouth was already watering. Fortunately, he remembered the dining etiquette his grandfather had taught him and didn't pounce on them.
"Brother Shi, this is too lavish today!" Linghu Chong exclaimed, his eyes wide. Breakfast, usually four dishes and a soup, was now a complete feast, dozens of dishes layered upon each other. "What kind of day is this?!"
"Yes!" Lu Xiaofeng swallowed hard. "Can we finish it?"
Shi Fei sneered and said, "How can you compare a good-for-nothing like this?"
"A good-for-nothing?" Lu Xiaofeng and Linghu Chong looked at Sun Wukong. Clearly, "good-for-nothing" referred to this guy.
The young Sun Wukong sat upright, staring wide-eyed at the three people in front of him, his tail wagging anxiously as he waited for dinner to be served.
"Eat up!" Shi Fei said, picking up his chopsticks.
"it is good!"
"Thank you!"
Sun Wukong's voice rang out almost simultaneously with Linghu Chong's. The next second, his chopsticks turned into two afterimages. The braised pork knuckle vanished, the braised pork evaporated, and the entire plate of steamed dumplings was devoured in one bite. Lu Xiaofeng had just picked up a piece of tofu when he was astonished to find that half the dishes on the table had already been eaten by Sun Wukong.
Even more terrifying was that the child's belly showed no sign of swelling, as if the food had fallen into a bottomless pit. Linghu Chong's chopsticks froze in mid-air, and he and Lu Xiaofeng stared at each other in bewilderment.
This isn't just a glutton; it's a reincarnation of a monster!
