Dreaming for 10,000 years

Chapter 376 The Big World

Chapter 376 The Big World
He had traveled the world for many years and had seen heavy drinkers and gluttonous diners, but he had never seen such a scene of "eating"!

It's not appropriate to describe it as eating; it would be more accurate to call it swallowing rice.

Lu Xiaofeng and Linghu Chong exchanged a glance, both reading shock in each other's eyes. Normally, when the three of them ate together, Shi Fei would only touch his chopsticks symbolically; four dishes and a soup were enough to fill the two of them. Today, this table full of delicacies seemed to have been prepared especially for this "glutton."

Especially since there were dozens of dishes on the table, most of them were meat dishes, with very few vegetables. As a result, this kid's chopsticks moved like blurs, and he wolfed down almost all the food.

At first, he worried that Sun Wukong would stuff him to death, but then he thought, if it were possible to stuff oneself to death, one would have already done so long ago. This kid is probably of extraordinary origin.

"Thank you! I'm full!" Sun Wukong patted his stomach and made a satisfied "thump-thump" sound.

He hadn't had a proper meal in a long time.

"Are you full?" Shi Fei asked. "Would you like some more?"

"No! I'm already very full! I'll save it for the next meal!" Sun Wukong said.

"After you finish washing the dishes, let's get to work!" Shi Fei glanced at him but didn't say anything.

Yesterday it was Linghu Chong's turn to wash the dishes, today it was Lu Xiaofeng's turn. Looking at the mountain of dishes, Lu Xiaofeng's pockmarked face scrunched up in a grimace. Fortunately, Linghu Chong and Sun Wukong offered to help, and the three of them worked together to quickly clean the tableware.

When they stepped out of the courtyard gate, the sun was already high in the sky. Shi Fei was carrying saplings and water, along with four other people.

Suddenly, a strange tune began to play: "You carry the load, I lead the horse~ We welcome the sunrise, we see off the sunset~"

Lu Xiaofeng and Linghu Chong exchanged bewildered glances, puzzled as to why Shi Fei was behaving so strangely today. Little did they know that the group of four people and one monkey had unexpectedly formed a "pilgrimage team."

These four people—one old, one named Sun Wukong, one fat, and one taciturn—what a coincidence!

With Sun Wukong joining the effort, today's work efficiency is astonishing.

Although Lu Xiaofeng and Linghu Chong were martial artists, they still needed to rest frequently in the scorching desert heat. Sun Wukong, on the other hand, seemed tireless. He dug holes faster than the two of them combined, and his tree-planting movements were fluid and graceful. Each saxaul seedling seemed to be infused with life in his hands.

"Good lad!" Lu Xiaofeng wiped his sweat, looked at Sun Wukong's tireless back, and murmured, "This breakfast was really worth it."

They eat a lot and do a lot of work.

At noon, all the saplings that were originally planned to be planted in one day had been completed. Shi Fei inspected the neat rows of trees with satisfaction, the sunlight gilding the white robe with a layer of gold.

"We're wrapping up early today." He patted Sun Wukong on the shoulder. "I'll give you a nice treat when we get back."

"Really?" Sun Wukong, who had been slumped on the ground, suddenly sprang up and perked up instantly.

"Of course!" Shi Fei said. No wonder capitalists love cattle and horses; they really are useful!

After lunch, the tree-planting work came to an end, but a new project began. This time, Shi Fei simply expanded the courtyard, planning a three-section layout.

One, two, three. Heaven knows how many more people will come here in the future.

With Sun Wukong, a man of immense strength, the project progressed rapidly. Even so, according to Shi Fei's estimate, it would still take more than a month to complete. "Look at the two of you," Shi Fei said, leaning against the newly built mud wall, watching Sun Wukong's heroic figure as he single-handedly lifted three roof beams. "Together, you're not even as strong as a child."

Lu Xiaofeng slumped against the corner, sweat pouring down his face. "Brother Shi, we're not livestock," he said, pulling open his collar to reveal his bright red chest. "Even mules and horses need to catch their breath."

Linghu Chong's hand holding the plane trembled slightly: "I've used a sword for more than ten years, and suddenly I'm using a plane." Before he could finish speaking, he was interrupted by the "bang bang" sound of Sun Wukong nailing wooden boards.

“Boss Shi!” Lu Xiaofeng squinted, looking at the figure leaping and bounding in the distance. “Is he really human?” This was not a metaphor, but a genuine question.

"Unlike a person" is a descriptive term, not a metaphor.

"He comes from a warrior race among the stars of the universe, the Saiyans," Shi Fei said. "A powerful Saiyan can destroy a planet with a single blow, so building houses and farming are naturally no problem for him."

"A warrior race, the Saiyans?"

"Destroy the planet?"

The two looked at each other in bewilderment. During this time, because of Lu Xiaofeng's rigorous training last time, they had become quite engrossed in their studies, and thus read many strange and unusual books, learning about the concepts of the universe and stars.

Although they knew the world was vast, the idea that one person could destroy stars was beyond their imagination.

“Yes! You must have many questions about life and the world.” Shi Fei looked at them and said, “But Saiyans are different; their entire lives are about fighting.”

"Fight to the very end, and shatter the entire world with your own strength! That's how Saiyans do things."

Lu Xiaofeng's pockmarked face widened: "Shatter the world?"

Linghu Chong unconsciously rubbed the calluses on his palm with his fingertips: "Can this still be called human?"

"The world is vast, beyond your imagination. You are merely frogs in a well, naturally unable to fathom its size, nor can you fathom the thoughts of the people in it." Shi Fei's words were filled with an inexplicable meaning, which the two failed to grasp.

Lu Xiaofeng and Linghu Chong both fell into deep thought. Normally, they might not have believed what Shi Fei said, but with someone like Sun Wukong around, they suddenly believed him.

Days passed like sand in an hourglass, slipping away one by one. Linghu Chong gradually grew accustomed to this life: planting trees in the morning, building houses in the afternoon, and resting at sunset. The past of the Huashan Sect seemed like a dream from a previous life.

Until the night of the full moon.

A deafening roar jolted Linghu Chong awake. Dust fell from the thatched roof, and the ground trembled. He rushed barefoot out of the room, only to be utterly terrified by the sight before him—

A colossal ape-man stood in the courtyard, easily ten zhang tall. In the moonlight, its black fur gleamed with an eerie light, and its blood-red eyes were as large as lanterns. It roared to the sky, its fangs as white as knives, and with a single claw, it smashed half a room to pieces.

That was the room where Lu Xiaofeng and Sun Wukong lived together!
"Lu Xiaofeng! Sun Wukong!" Linghu Chong shouted hoarsely, but only the roar of the giant ape answered him. The newly built roof was completely ripped off, and the sound of breaking wooden beams was like bones being fractured.

The giant ape's tail swept across, and the courtyard wall collapsed like paper. Linghu Chong instinctively reached for his waist, but grasped at empty air; he hadn't used a sword in a long time.

The full moon's silvery light shone like water onto the giant ape's ferocious face. Linghu Chong suddenly noticed that the giant ape had a scar on its forehead, the shape of which was exactly the same as Sun Wukong's.
Could he be Sun Wukong?
What about Lu Xiaofeng? Linghu Chong felt a sense of foreboding.
