Chapter 221 3 Tibetan Buddha Finger
Chapter 221 Tripitaka Buddha Finger
Inside Sanzang Temple.
Huang Sixi was led into the main hall by the monk in charge of reception.
Before entering the temple, he had already thought of a way to pay a visit to Master Tripitaka.
He took out a Buddhist scripture and handed it to the monk in charge of reception: "My family has four volumes of Buddhist scriptures, called the Lankavatara Sutra, which is the original Sanskrit volume written by the Indian monk Bodhidharma!"
When the monk in charge of receiving guests heard the words "Patriarch Bodhidharma" and "original Sanskrit volume", he immediately took it seriously.
He carefully took the scripture, but seemed to be incredulous: "Is this really the sutra written by Bodhidharma?"
Huang Sixi smiled and said, "This is my family's ancestral Buddhist scroll. This is what my ancestors said when they passed it down."
He gave a vague answer.
In fact, the four volumes of "Lankavatara Sutra" in his hands were authentic handwritings of Bodhidharma. He got them from the Shaolin Temple in The Legend of the Condor Heroes, and found the "Nine Yang Magical Art" in the interlayer of the scriptures.
Considering that the Lankavatara Sutra was a unique copy, he did not throw it away casually and has been carrying it with him ever since.
However, this is the time of Di Renjie in the martial arts world, and it is the Tang Dynasty. The Shaolin Temple was built only 150 years ago, and only a short 100 years have passed since Bodhidharma faced the wall in Mount Song. There must be another copy of the "Lankavatara Sutra" in the current Shaolin Temple.
Therefore, Huang Sixi was not sure that his copy of the Lankavatara Sutra was the authentic one. He just wanted to attract attention through the Lankavatara Sutra and then meet Master Tripitaka.
Although the monk in charge of receiving guests was not well versed in Buddhism, he knew the famous "Lankavatara Sutra", which is a treasure trove of Zen Buddhism and the main sutra studied by Master Tripitaka when he founded the Yogacara school.
The monk in charge of reception was too low-ranking to handle the matter, so he bowed to Huang Sixi and said, "Please wait for a moment, I will go and invite Master Kuiji to come. He is a disciple of Tripitaka Patriarch and will be able to read your Sanskrit scriptures!"
He first returned the scriptures and then went back to the inner hall to ask for help.
Huang Sixi waited for a while.
Suddenly, a resonant male voice came from the inner hall: "I have seen the Lankavatara Sutra written by Bodhidharma. It is stored in the Sutra Library of Shaolin Temple and will not be leaked out of the temple. The sutra of that donor should be a copy!"
As the voice fell, a figure appeared in the hall. It was a burly monk in his thirties.
His voice was like a loud bell, and when he shouted, he actually shook off the dust on the beams, revealing his impressive internal strength.
He walked straight to Huang Sixi's seat.
The monk in charge of receiving guests arrived shortly afterwards and introduced Huang Sixi to him as Master Kuiji.
Master Kuiji raised his hand and asked, "I have met Mr. Huang, the donor who brought the Lankavatara Sutra?"
Huang Sixi nodded at him and handed him the Buddhist scripture.
He flipped it open and was immediately surprised: "Huh? This doesn't look like a copy. On the contrary, it is no different from the original copy by Bodhidharma!"
When he looked at Huang Sixi again, his face was already anxious: "The Lankavatara Sutra has four volumes. May I ask Mr. Huang, you..."
Before he could finish his words, Huang Sixi had already taken out the remaining three volumes and handed them to him.
After reading it, Master Kuiji became confused and could not tell the authenticity of the Lankavatara Sutra.
But he was a generous person and did not get stuck in ruts, so he planned to ask his fellow disciples to taste the wine.
Master Kuiji suddenly smiled and asked Huang Sixi, "What is your intention in bringing Buddhist scriptures into my temple this time?"
Huang Sixi got straight to the point: "I admire Master Sanzang's fearless journey to the West, and I plan to offer the four volumes of the Lankavatara Sutra passed down from my ancestors to your temple. However, I have encountered a difficult Buddhist problem that I have not been able to solve, and I would like to ask Master Sanzang to solve it in person!"
Master Kuiji immediately understood that Huang Sixi wanted to seek advice from Master Tripitaka in person.
He looked embarrassed and said, "Master is in seclusion in the back mountain. I can send the Lankavatara Sutra to him and ask him to take a look. But I dare not say whether he is willing to see you or not!"
Huang Sixi immediately made a gesture: "Master, please take the sutra and explain the whole story to Master Sanzang!"
Seeing that Huang Sixi was so happy to give him the Buddhist scriptures, Master Kuiji carefully held the four scriptures in his arms, bowed and said goodbye: "Please wait for a moment, Mr. Huang. I will report to the master right away!"
This time Huang Sixi waited longer.
About an incense stick later, Master Kuiji came back and said that Master Tripitaka was willing to meet him and asked Huang Sixi to go to the back mountain with him.
Huang Sixi was very happy.
He followed Master Kuiji to a lush green bamboo forest on the back mountain.
On the way, he curiously observed the terrain and saw that the forest was full of square stone pillars, each several feet high, with Sanskrit engraved on them, which looked very important.
Seeing that he was interested in the stone pillar, Master Kuiji introduced that this was the place where Master Tripitaka practiced daily, and in order to prevent interference from outsiders, he set up a soul-moving formation.
Huang Sixi was no stranger to soul-transferring. The Nine Yin Scriptures he practiced contained a soul-transferring technique that could control people's minds.
When he re-entered the bloody world, he used the soul-transferring technique many times to torture the Tartars for intelligence.
He knew that Di Renjie's martial arts world was full of sorcerers, who were best at using mind control to create various soul-shifting illusions. Among them, the soul-shifting illusion of the Demon Sealing Clan was the most sophisticated.
The essence of these illusions is actually to use internal force to shock people and control their minds, but the level of martial arts is much more advanced than the "Soul Transfer Technique".
After passing through the soul-transferring formation, Huang Sixi and Master Kuiji came to an ancient tree.
Who knows how many years this ancient tree has been growing. Its trunk is so thick that several people cannot hug it together.
I saw an old monk with a white beard sitting cross-legged under the tree. In front of him were four copies of Huang Sixi's "Lankavatara Sutra" laid out in order.
Huang Sixi saw that the old monk had a very kind face and a noble look. His eyes looked at Huang Sixi, and there seemed to be bright light flowing in them, shining naturally.
However, the middle-aged monk standing next to the old monk had a very cold expression. He had a round face and small eyes, and he squinted his eyes deliberately. He was like a stone sculpture, standing motionless next to the old monk.
Master Kuiji led Huang Sixi to stop a few feet away from the two monks.
Master Kuiji bowed to the two monks first, then pointed to Huang Sixi and said, "Master, Brother, this is the donor Huang who delivered the sutras!"
Then he introduced Huang Sixi: "Donor Huang, this is my master, Master Sanzang, and that is my senior brother, Master Yuance!"
Huang Sixi had already guessed in his heart that the old monk was Master Tripitaka, and he immediately put his palms together and saluted.
After the ceremony, he bowed to the middle-aged monk.
Master Kuiji has already introduced this middle-aged monk, whose Buddhist name is Yuance.
Huang Sixi had heard of this before. Master Yuance was also an accomplished monk, but he was not from the Tang Dynasty in Central China.
Master Yuance was a descendant of the king of Silla. He became a monk at a young age and went to Chang'an to seek Buddhism when he was a teenager. He lived there for thirty years. He was already quite famous in the Buddhist community in China and was treated with courtesy by the royal family of the Tang Dynasty. He was not a disciple of Master Tripitaka at first.
After Master Tripitaka returned from the West with Buddhist scriptures, he opened a Dharma field in Shendu to teach the Yogacara Buddhism. Only then did Master Yuance become Master Tripitaka's disciple.
The two sides met and introduced themselves to each other.
Master Sanzang pointed to the Buddhist scriptures in front of him and asked Huang Sixi, "Little donor, these four Buddhist scriptures are exactly the same as the Lankavatara Sutra that I read in the Sutra Library of Shaolin Temple. Where did you get them from?"
Huang Sixi replied: "I have never visited the Shaolin Temple mentioned by the holy monk, let alone entered the Sutra Library. These four scriptures have nothing to do with the Shaolin Temple. If the holy monk does not believe it, he can send someone to the Sutra Library to verify its authenticity!"
The world of The Legend of the Condor Heroes and the world of Detective Di Renjie are different worlds and have no influence on each other.
Huang Sixi obtained the "Lankavatara Sutra" in the world of The Legend of the Condor Heroes, so the scriptures in Di Renjie's world must be safe.
Master Tripitaka did not delve into it further.
He smiled and turned to Master Kuiji: "Please take some time to visit Shaolin Temple. If there is any missing copy of the Lankavatara Sutra in the Sutra Library, donate these four books to Shaolin Temple!"
Master Kuiji asked: "What if there is no missing?"
Master Sanzang said: "Then please ask the Shaolin Abbot to preside over the Buddhist ceremony and inform all the temples in China that Bodhidharma wrote two copies of the Lankavatara Sutra. One copy will be passed down to Shaolin, and the other will be kept in my temple in the future!"
Master Kuiji thought that his master asked him to take time to go to Shaolin, which meant that the situation was not urgent. The "Lankavatara Sutra" in the Shaolin Temple's Sutra Library should not be lost, and Bodhidharma did pass down two copies of the "Lankavatara Sutra". Shaolin Temple had been built for more than a hundred years, while Sanzang Temple had only been around for more than ten years. The two temples had incomparable heritage. If the Sanzang Temple could collect the original "Lankavatara Sutra", it would be of great benefit to the Sanzang Temple.
Master Kuiji thought to himself that this authentic copy was donated by donor Huang, and it would not be too late to go to Shaolin Temple after seeing donor Huang off from the temple.
He continued to stay by Master Tripitaka's side, listening to the conversation between Master Tripitaka and Huang Sixi.
I heard Master Sanzang say again: "A little donor has brought the Lankavatara Sutra to my temple. I have accepted it. The little donor once said that there was a problem he could not solve. Now I can tell you!"
"Please wait a moment, holy monk!"
Huang Sixi took off the Qiankun Yiqi bag on his back, untied the bag, and took out the Dragon Subduing Sword, the Black Iron Heavy Sword, the Ziwei Soft Sword and other treasures from it.
When Master Sanzang saw this, he kept smiling.
Master Yuance frowned slightly when he saw Huang Sixi carrying so many sharp weapons.
Before becoming a monk, Master Kuiji was a descendant of a military family. His ancestor was a powerful general under Emperor Taizong Li Shimin. He had a passion for magical weapons. When he saw Huang Sixi's many weapons, his eyes lit up and he showed admiration.
He thought Huang Sixi was going to show him a weapon, but after Huang Sixi emptied the bag, he actually handed the bag to Master Sanzang.
Huang Sixi believed that Master Sanzang was a holy monk who had transcended the mortal world, so he said directly: "This bag of mine contains strange powers, but I lack the method to enlighten it, so I can't make the strange powers appear. Please teach me the method to enlighten it and the strategy to consecrate it!"
"Be bold!"
Master Yuance rebuked, "Master is a famous saint in the Buddhist community of China, prayed for blessings by the emperor, and revered by the people. How dare you, a mere commoner, ask Master to perform a consecration ceremony for you!"
He thought to himself, are you worthy?
Master Kuiji also felt that Huang Sixi was not worthy. Although Huang Sixi had offered the "Lankavatara Sutra" first, one Buddhist scripture was not enough to invite a great Buddhist sage like Master Tripitaka.
Master Kuiji advised: "Donor Huang, only the emperor and the empress in the world have the virtue to allow the master to perform rituals. You should find someone else..."
Before he could finish his words, Master Sanzang waved his hand, signaling him to stop.
He immediately shut his mouth.
Master Sanzang has already taken the Qiankun Yiqi bag and checked it inside and out.
Then he raised it to his nose and sniffed it, and suddenly asked Huang Sixi: "Does the young donor have any Buddhist relics on him?"
Huang Sixi sighed in his heart and thought that the holy monk Tripitaka had a very sensitive nose.
When Huang Sixi returned to the bloody world, he happened to see Chu Zhaonan and Jiunan fighting fiercely when passing by the Yungang Grottoes. After he rescued Jiunan, he learned about the relics of the ancient Buddhist monk Nagarjuna.
Later, he discovered that Nagarjuna's relic could actually resonate with Rama's internal energy. Every time he healed his wounds, as long as he held Nagarjuna's relic in his hand, the flow of Rama's true energy would be accelerated and the healing speed would be significantly improved.
Naturally, Huang Sixi regarded this relic as a rare treasure and never displayed it to the public.
When breaking the wall earlier, in order to prevent any accidents, Huang Sixi first sealed Nagarjuna's relics in a brocade box, and then put the brocade box into the Qiankun Yiqi bag.
Since the mouth of the bag can be tied up with a thousand knots, once the mouth of the bag is tied up, no one can untie it. The bag body is also invulnerable to swords and knives, and is not damaged by water or fire.
Even if Huang Sixi enters Di Renjie's martial arts world and unfortunately falls into a river or a sea of fire, the Qiankun Yiqi Bag can ensure the safety of Nagarjuna's relics.
But Huang Sixi could never have imagined that the Nagarjuna relics only left a faint breath in the bag, but were actually detected by Master Sanzang.
Huang Sixi replied: "I did find a relic by chance."
Master Sanzang immediately extended his hand to him and said, "Please bring the relic here, little donor!"
Seeing his hesitation, Master Sanzang smiled again: "Without this relic, I cannot enlighten this bag!"
Upon hearing this, Huang Sixi no longer hesitated, took out the brocade box from his arms, stood up and handed it to Master Sanzang.
Master Yuance and Master Kuiji approached Master Sanzang and looked at the relics in the brocade box curiously.
This relic is estimated to be the size of a walnut, not as white as pearls, and has a gray-brown surface.
Master Yuance could not tell the origin of the relic, so he asked Master Sanzang: "Excuse me, Master, which Buddhist left this relic?"
Master Sanzang smiled and said, "You should know the great disciple of Buddha Shakyamuni!"
Master Yuance and Master Kuiji looked at each other and nodded in unison: "The Buddha's first disciple was Nagarjuna Bodhisattva, who was also the founder of Mahayana Buddhism!"
Master Sanzang answered: "In the past, I went to the Buddha Kingdom and was fortunate to see a tooth of Buddha left by the Buddha Shakyamuni. In addition to the tooth of Buddha, the most famous Buddha treasure in the Buddha Kingdom is the relic of Nagarjuna Bodhisattva. However, Nagarjuna's relic has been lost for many years. I thought it had been destroyed long ago. I didn't expect it to be in your hands. It's really a Buddhist fate!"
"what!"
Master Yuance and Master Kuiji were horrified: "Is this a relic of the Bodhisattva?"
Nagarjuna Bodhisattva was an ancient monk who lived thousands of years ago and once listened to lectures under the Buddha. If the real relics of Nagarjuna Bodhisattva could be enshrined, then Tripitaka Temple would definitely become the ancestral temple of Buddhism in China.
But Master Tripitaka had no intention of taking Nagarjuna's relics for himself.
I saw him holding Nagarjuna's relic in his hand and putting it into the bag.
No one knew what secret method he used, but the bag, which was originally more than ten feet in size, began to shrink at a speed visible to the naked eye.
It was not until the Qiankun Qi bag shrunk to the size of a palm that Master Sanzang took his palm out of the bag. He raised his hand and threw it back to Huang Sixi along with Nagarjuna's relics.
Huang Sixi holds a bag in his left hand and Nagarjuna's relics in his right hand.
The bag of heaven and earth shrank to the size of a palm, but Nagarjuna's relics did not change at all.
Huang Sixi saw that Master Yuance was staring at Nagarjuna's relics, so he put the relics into a brocade box and put it in his arms. Then he picked up the Qiankun Yiqi bag and asked Master Sanzang: "Excuse me, holy monk, how should I use this Buddhist bag?"
At this time, Master Tripitaka had already signaled Master Kuiji to go to the tree hole of the ancient tree behind to get paper and pen.
Master Sanzang wrote furiously on a piece of Buddhist paper, and then handed it to Huang Sixi: "I have a Buddhist finger method here, you can try to study it, as long as you can practice it, you can put the item in your pocket."
Huang Sixi held up the Buddhist paper with both hands, and both Master Yuance and Master Kuiji could see the handwriting on it.
However, only Huang Sixi could read the lines of glowing words that appeared on the surface of the Buddhist paper.
"Legacy of a famous monk: Contains 'Sanzang Buddha Finger'. Donate the 'Lankavatara Sutra' to Sanzang Temple and you can read and inherit it!"
After reading it once, Huang Sixi had already mastered the "Tripitaka Buddha Finger" and then folded the Buddhist paper to prevent it from being learned by Master Yuance and Master Kuiji.
After that, Huang Sixi opened the bag with his left hand, and used his right hand to perform finger techniques, allowing his internal energy to be infused into his right index finger. He pointed the heavy black iron sword on the ground. The sword body was stimulated by the internal force and pierced horizontally into the bag, disappearing into it without a trace.
There are clear instructions on the relics of the famous person, stating that anything Huang Sixi carries with him can be put into the Qiankun Yiqi Bag through the "Tripitaka Buddha Finger". Apart from this, the "Tripitaka Buddha Finger" has no other use.
Master Yuance and Master Kuiji were both stunned when they saw this. Some of the heavy black iron swords were four or five feet long. How could they be put into a bag the size of a palm?
Master Sanzang saw that Huang Sixi had already learned the method of storing the 'Qian Kun Yi Qi Bag', and asked with a smile: "Did you solve the problem of the little donor?"
Huang Sixi thought he had been completely untied, but his eyes suddenly turned and looked at the Qiankun Yiqi Bag.
He was shocked to find that the surface of the bag actually revealed patterns of dragon heads, and each dragon head pattern was embroidered with words. The first dragon head was engraved with the word "Qing", the second dragon head was engraved with the word "Ming", and the remaining dragon heads were also named after dynasties, including the word "Tang".
He immediately turned to Master Sanzang and bowed respectfully: "Please enlighten me, holy monk, what do these dragon head patterns mean?"
Master Sanzang gave him some pointers: "When I served His Majesty Taizong, I once saw a dragon head from the Tang Dynasty. You can go get it. As for where the other dragon heads are, I don't know. You need to find them yourself!"
Huang Sixi quickly asked again: "Please tell me where the Tang Dragon Head is hidden?"
Master Sanzang pointed to the Buddhist paper and said, "It's right there on the paper. Can't you see it?"
Huang Sixi immediately unfolded the Buddhist paper and found that there was a map drawn on the back, which was obviously the location where the Tang dragon head was buried.
