Foolish Brother Odin
Chapter 19: Creation in 7 Days
Chapter 19: Seven Days of Creation (Part )
Downs gave these mortals life and soul, Odin gave them reason and appearance, Willy gave them loyalty and movement, and Paul gave them language.
The first generation of human ancestors was born.
What the gods other than Tangs did not expect was that many maggot-like creatures grew on the land formed by the bodies of the two giants.
When Downs had nothing to do and gave them spirituality, some of the creatures that looked like maggots but were actually silkworms turned into beautiful light elves under the sunlight. They had gorgeous and slender bodies and gorgeous appearances, and they won the love of all the Aesir gods and giants as soon as they were born.
Quite simply, they were granted residence in Alfheim and were responsible for serving the gods at close range.
The maggots that were apparently born from Ymir's corpse and preferred darkness turned into dark elves, living together with the dwarves and midgets created by the gods from the first giant.
In addition, the fire giants were not completely wiped out in the first place.
The creatures of all nine small worlds in the entire Jinlunga world have basically been crushed.
However, Downs had made up his mind from the beginning that he would not treat other mortal races as mere objects of exploitation by the Aesir, as Odin in the epic did.
Even in the darkest dwarf kingdom [Svartalfheim], there will be a month of sunshine, and even in the coldest kingdom of the dead [Helheim], there will be a month of spring.
Odin secretly said: "Brother, this is an unnecessary operation."
Tang Si shook his head: "You don't understand. As a God King, you should never completely block the ascending channel of the lower world. I reserved rainbow bridges for eight worlds so that the elites of these worlds can have the opportunity to be promoted to Asgard and rule the nine realms together with the Aesir."
Odin obviously disagreed: "What if those mortals multiply and one day Asgard can no longer accommodate them?"
Towns's gaze transcended time and space, as if he saw the extremely distant future.
"My foolish brother! The total amount of power and number of gods a world can bear is fixed. The Aesir will one day stop adding new gods. At that time, the mortals who are promoted will be subject to the [last-place elimination system]."
"Last place, what's that?" Odin didn't understand.
Towns did not explain further.
This world tree is in its nascent stage, and during this rising period, this "pie" is destined to grow bigger and bigger.
However, there must be death after life, and it is possible that the World Tree has its own destructive properties.
When that day really comes, if Towns doesn't want to suffer the "Ragnarok" incident and die together with everyone, he will probably have to attack the unknown world opposite this world.
Before the arrival of Ragnarok, it is very necessary to maintain relative unity among the races in the Nine Realms.
On the sixth day, the long night ended and the sun rose.
By the seventh day, Downs and the gods were already feeling tired.
In fact, almost everything that needs to be done has been done.
The three Downs brothers could clearly feel that the world's will was taking back their authority to change the world.
The Aesir gods almost transformed the world upside down. If there was anything that they did not move, or dared not move, it was the exaggerated cow Odumbra.
Downs' gaze transcended space, looking at the huge cow that he had moved to Jotunheim.
Its size is comparable to a huge stadium that can accommodate 50,000 people.
Its movements were simple and repetitive. It opened and closed its huge mouth, which was like that of an Aesir, and continuously extended and retracted its huge tongue to lick the ice surface.
In Odin's eyes, the actions of this strange cow were undoubtedly ridiculous. He soon got tired of watching it: "Pfft! What's so good about Odumbra? Maybe it won't be able to lick anything new even if it licks for another ten thousand years." Downs couldn't laugh and shook his head: "No! Since it licked out Ymir and our ancestor Buri, it means you never know what it will lick out next."
"Uh."
"Arrange the personnel. I need someone to take turns to watch over Odumbra. I want to be the first to know when it licks out something new."
"Okay, brother, you are the God King, you have the final say."
Odin disagreed. But Downs knew that this cow, which could not distinguish between friend and foe, would probably lick out a bunch of new frost giants, mountain giants, and the most important Vanir in a short time!
Downs was unable to determine how the Vanir had arrived on the world of Kinlunga.
Because the epic and prose versions of the Edda have different accounts of the arrival of the Vanir. One version says they were licked out by a cow, the other says they migrated inexplicably.
No matter which version it is, it means the beginning of a long war between gods and the Aesir.
That’s for later.
After tinkering with it for six days in a row, all things in the nine realms were in order and full of life.
Towns retracted his gaze and thought carefully about whether he had any backup plans that he had not yet buried in the world.
When he was sure that he had made no more mistakes, he finally smiled.
"On the seventh day, just rest."
The seventh day became Sunday, which everyone called the day of rest.
Tired, Downs prepared to return to Asgard, the divine realm reserved for him and the entire Aesir.
Just after he took the first step in the air, all the intelligent creatures in the Nine Realms felt their hearts skip a beat at the same time.
The Creator retired after accomplishing his mission. The connection that came from the deepest part of the soul and life, like a huge rock falling into water, produced a wonderful resonance in the hearts of all beings in the nine realms.
At this moment, all the beings in the nine realms raised their heads collectively and turned their faces towards where Tangs was.
Somewhere in the dark, they surpassed the limits of their vision and saw that majestic figure shining brightly, stepping onto the rainbow bridge and rising slowly to the supreme realm of the gods.
No one taught them, but they shouted out prayers in unison.
Even though they knew that the great Æsir King, His Majesty Downs Paulson, would not answer their prayers, they were still caught in a common dream of happiness.
In hopeful anticipation, they heard the promise of the God-King.
"Those who serve the Aesir faithfully will be promoted to Asgard and share eternal life and happiness with us!"
"Struggle! Fight! Prove yourself with blood and courage!"
"Then, step onto the Rainbow Bridge—"
Amid the solemn announcement, they saw a tall and majestic figure transform into a stream of light, like a rising sun, illuminating the entire Nine Realms and finally arriving at Asgard, the realm of the upper gods.
All living things in the nine realms bowed down together. Their movements were so coordinated that it seemed to form a wave.
The incomparable desire from the bottom of their hearts surged up in their throats, and finally, with the language ability given by Paul, they all uttered the first words of their lives:
"I will obey the order of His Majesty the Divine King!"
