Chapters 469 & 467: The Battle of Gorlitz (Bonus Chapter 13)

The Gallipoli landings began in late February of the New Divine Calendar 315 and continued intermittently for several months until June.

As a battle to prove themselves in the Kingdom of Sardinia, you really can't say they didn't try!
As the number of troops increased and the fortifications built after landing became more and more elaborate, extraordinary experts took the lead and acted as the vanguard in order to seize the position.

The mage guild even seized the opportunity and started throwing magic scrolls around like they were free.

But no matter how much they pulled back and forth, they couldn't take the position, or even if they did, it would be taken back!

To say that the Sardinian army didn't try hard enough, and that they lost many men, is an exaggeration. But sometimes, they just lacked that little bit of fighting spirit.

On the Ottoman side, they mobilized all available resources, with the various nobles and royal families bringing out their best knights and powerful warriors.

The Kingdom of Sardinia wanted to prove itself, and the Kingdom of Ottoman seemed to be proving that although they were weak, they were not incapable of being helped!
As a result, the two sides were locked in a tug-of-war, going back and forth intermittently, for several months without a clear winner.

This result stunned countless people, who found it utterly unbelievable!

To be honest, at this point in the war, the Allied forces' counter-offensive plan had failed.

They failed to conquer the Ottoman Empire immediately, and the empire was prepared; even the southern provinces were not so easy to conquer.

The Kingdom of Sardinia has some shame!

They considered themselves invincible at sea, and seeing the Bonaparte Empire showing signs of weakness, they wanted to take its place and become the recognized hegemon and leader.

As a result, they were blocked by a small Ottoman kingdom. If word got out, wouldn't they lose face?

Therefore, they simply refused to admit defeat, refused to end the battle, and were prepared to retreat a short distance if they were defeated.

Relying on our absolute naval superiority, we can regroup and launch another amphibious assault.

Anyway, as long as I don't admit defeat and the war isn't over, no one will dare say the counter-offensive plan has failed.

This is probably Her Majesty the Queen of Sardinia's idea, and it's also the reason why the Gallipoli landing operation continues, and even, as far as the eye can see, will continue for much longer!

It is worth mentioning that the Ottoman Kingdom formally formed an alliance with the Habsburg Empire.

Leaving aside the issue of faith, the rest of the cooperation is comprehensive.

The Ottoman Empire will comprehensively learn from the Empire's system, education, and economic model.
The Empire also provided a large amount of technology and machinery, preparing to support the Ottoman Kingdom in embarking on the path of magic-based industry.

This is also the Empire's first official ally. The Flower Territory also emphasized its role as an intermediary, while the Ottoman Kingdom completely sided with the Empire.

This seems to have set a very bad precedent, with countless countries eager to restore diplomatic relations with the Habsburg Empire!
Meanwhile, the Imperial Organization's counter-offensive against the Slavic Empire also began in mid-May.

The Empire organized three magic legions, totaling nearly 400,000 men, to invade the Slavic Empire directly from the left and right sides of East Pru Province.

To the left is the Caucasus region of the Slavic Empire, a place with many mountains and trees, complex terrain, and high altitude.

To the right, we enter the province of Galicia in the Slavic Empire, a vast and flat land.

Such a large-scale mobilization could not be kept secret, and the Slavic Empire naturally knew about it as well.

They had already gathered most of the army, and after long training, they naturally stepped forward directly.

The Slavs continued to display their bravery, fighting fearlessly. Many of them charged forward with bloodshot eyes despite facing artillery fire and heavy machine gun fire.

Their inherent ferocity and belligerence made them fearless.

In fact, the wars waged by the Slavic Empire were notoriously crude; tactics and strategies were often ineffective against them.

They themselves aren't very skilled; they just charge in recklessly. Once they get close, their heads get bloodshot, they activate pseudo-berserk, and either they kill me or I kill them!
It can be said that they are true masters of chaotic battles; the more chaotic the situation, the more advantageous it is for them.

Fighting them feels like having your IQ lowered to their level, and then being defeated by their vast experience!

This tactic was actually very effective in warfare using cold weapons.

The built-in buff of unlimited morale can already cover up most of its flaws and shortcomings.

But the current war of magic doesn't follow that rule anymore.

The Empire set up a magic cannon and bombarded the area relentlessly, leaving a group of farmers who had only recently put down their farm tools and picked up weapons completely disoriented.

No matter how brave and fearless you are, if you can't even see the enemy, it all vanishes into nothingness.

Then the infantry mowed down the battlefield, their heavy machine guns sweeping across the land, and by the time they got close, almost everyone was dead. The Slavic army crumbled almost instantly, incredibly weak, while the Imperial Legion relentlessly pursued and attacked.

If it weren't for the fact that the Slavic Empire had built quite a few trenches and was able to barely construct defensive positions, they would have been overwhelmed long ago.

Or, to be more precise, it had already collapsed long ago.

It's just a cycle of collapse and regrouping, only to be broken down again, a constant resistance followed by defeat.

Especially in the northern Caucasus region, the imperial offensive was relentless and exceptionally fierce.

This battle truly demonstrated what it means to strike at the lowest dimension!

It was in this battle that the Slavic Empire was almost completely exposed, and everyone realized just how weak they were!
This even gave an opportunity to a country located to the south of the Slavic Empire, which also attempted to launch an attack to reclaim the land that had been ceded.

Unfortunately, they regretted it after they actually took action.

Because the incident happened so suddenly, they initially gained some advantage, but the Slavs, once they realized what was happening, launched their fiercest counterattack.

And then, that elite legion of the kingdom simply vanished.

Of those who escaped, only three or four out of ten returned, a truly devastating loss.

Even with such a Slavic army, they were still thoroughly thrashed by the Empire.

At this point, everyone realized that it wasn't that the Slavs were weak, but that the empire was too strong.

It's not that traditional knight tactics are no longer effective, it's just that magical weapons are more powerful.

As a result of this incident, countless countries have become even more interested in the magic energy industry.

It is worth mentioning that, in order to alleviate the pressure on the Slavic Empire, the allied forces unanimously decided to intensify their offensive against the Ottoman Kingdom.

Around late May, the landing operation in the Gallipoli region intensified, with more than a dozen natural disasters even taking action, clearing out an area and giving the coalition forces a significant victory.

This also gave the empire a fright.

The importance of the southern provinces was self-evident, and they dared not gamble. Reluctantly, they slowed their offensive in the Caucasus region.
They also redeployed a portion of their main forces to garrison the south of the empire.

From this perspective, the allied forces' strategy was successful. Even though the Ottoman Kingdom later recaptured the positions, it still solved the problem in the distance.

Unfortunately, on both the left and right sides, the left side was forced to hold its ground, but the right side didn't stop!
The Eighth Main Battle Legion of the Empire is here, launching a surprise attack on a small formation called 'Gollitze'.

In just one day, the defensive line was breached, and the Imperial Army launched a fierce attack, forcing the Slavic Legion to retreat.

Three days later, the Slavic army retreated to the San River and fought fiercely with the Empire again. After three more days of fighting, they were defeated once more.

The imperial army crossed the Sang River and launched a major eastward advance.

Six days later, the Imperial army launched a fierce attack, and the Slavic legions suffered repeated defeats until, ten days later, the city of Lviv was lost.

Thus, in late June of the New Divine Calendar 315, the Empire achieved a great victory on the eastern front, perfectly concluding its counter-offensive plan and gaining vast territories.

This battle is also known as the Battle of Gorlitz.

This battle demonstrated the imperial military might once again, and also showed all the nations of the Old World that the Bonaparte Empire would have been conquered long ago had it not been for its shameless 'fouls'.

Of course, Luo Yi just watched the show.

He no longer has much of a sense of reality about this protracted war, even though it is brutal and has claimed at least millions of lives.
But what does that have to do with him?
As long as the emperor is far away and it doesn't affect the Flower Territory, it doesn't matter.
Of course, it would be wrong to say that there is no connection at all, because when war breaks out, gold is everywhere.

As the largest arms dealer in the Old World, Loy conducted the entire continent's arms business without ever leaving his home.

The fiercer the war, the more prosperous his business became. If it weren't for the support of the empire's massive industrial system, he would have been busy with his existing orders for several years.

To put it simply, let's take a very basic example.

In the first half of the year alone, Luo Yi's profits from arms sales exceeded the total profits of the Flower Territory last year.

This data was so outrageous that even Luo Yi couldn't believe it.

However, to Luo Yi's surprise, even though he wanted to live a peaceful life with his wife and children, he was still targeted by someone else.
