Chapter 10 Harry Potter
Chapter 10 Harry Potter
Ivy's subsequent journey to Diagon Alley was unremarkable, except that he met Hagrid and Harry holding ice cream outside Madam Malkin's robe shop.
Hagrid was visibly stunned when he saw him, and when Ivy nodded at him, Hagrid remembered that he was also one of the young wizards enrolled this year.
"Oh - hello." Hagrid said dryly. He didn't know who Ivy's handsome face and gorgeous robe reminded him of, but it probably wasn't a good memory.
"Hello, Mr. Hagrid." Ivy looked at Harry beside him. Harry was a thin boy, but coming to Diagon Alley and coming into contact with the wizarding world obviously made him extremely excited. "This is Harry Potter, right?"
"Hmm? Yes, he is indeed Harry." Hagrid's furry face looked hesitant, as if he was struggling with whether he should let Harry get in touch with a Slytherin. "But how did you know?"
"I was there when Professor McGonagall reported to Dumbledore that Harry Potter had not received his admission letter." Ivy smiled at Harry, who was looking at her curiously. "And I guess Dumbledore asked the Phoenix to deliver the message to you? He wrote the note in front of us, and you walked in just as Professor Snape and I were about to leave the headmaster's office."
"Not hard to guess, is it?" Ivy extended a hand to Harry. "My name is Ivy Doom, and I'm also a first-year student. Just call me Ivy."
"Oh, okay, Ivy." Harry grabbed Ivy's hand and shook it up and down, then asked curiously, "You mean, you were in Hogwarts before you enrolled. What kind of school is that? Headmaster Dumbledore also has a phoenix that can be used to send messages? What is that?"
"Okay, Harry, we'll have answers to those questions when we get to school. Why don't we keep it a little mysterious now?" Hagrid stopped Ivy from answering. He pushed Harry's back with his hand, which was almost as big as a pot lid. "Remember? You still need a wand, and I have to send it to Dumbledore today. We can't delay any longer. The sun is about to set."
"In that case, I won't bother you any more." Ivy said goodbye politely, but he did not forget to add, "Your questions can be answered in the book, 'Hogwarts: A History'. If you are particularly curious, you might as well buy a copy and read it."
"Thank you!" Harry followed Hagrid away, but he did not forget to turn around and wave to Ivy. To do this, he moved the cage containing the snowy owl to his other hand which was full of things with great effort.
Ivy waved at him, turned and walked into Madam Malkin's robe shop.
----
Time always passes quickly, and waiting with hope makes it go especially fast.
September 1st is the first day of school for Hogwarts and almost all Muggle schools in the northern hemisphere.
Ivy had already passed through Platform 9 3/4 and successfully boarded the Hogwarts Express. Ivy knew very well that this steam locomotive also had a history of more than 100 years, which seemed to be about the same age as himself, but different from his status among wizards.
The Hogwarts Express wasn't really an "express" among the trains of 1991, but Ivy, the master of the dark arts, was still one of the best.
Ivy knocked on the door of the compartment. Harry was leaning against the car window looking out. Judging from the little bit of red hair sticking out from the window, it was the Weasley family standing outside.
"Can I come in, Harry?"
"What?" Harry turned his head and saw Ivy in a short-sleeved T-shirt. "Of course, Ivy."
"Very good." Ivy came in from the door and directed his luggage to be moved to the shelf.
During this time, Harry stared with wide eyes and held his breath.
"Magic!" Harry shouted, pointing at Ivy.
"Don't be so surprised." Ivy sat on the chair and said easily, "You are also a wizard. I believe it won't take long for you to master this magic." As soon as Ivy finished speaking, the train whistle sounded.
Ivy could sense that Harry's mood suddenly dropped, and guessed that he was worried that he couldn't keep up with the progress of learning magic, so he smiled and said to him: "Welcome to the magical world."
Harry relaxed and a smile returned to his face.
Then the train shuddered, and the Hogwarts Express began to move.
The door of the compartment was opened again, and the tall, thin, red-haired child with freckles on his face walked in.
"Can I sit here?" he asked, pointing to the seat next to Harry. "Everywhere else is taken."
"Of course!" Harry blurted out, and then he looked at Ivy who was silent beside him, and the latter nodded slightly at him.
"Oh." Ron sat down, looking relieved.
"Hey, Ron." The Weasley twins poked their heads out of the open door.
"Listen, we need to go to the middle car now - Lee Jordan got a big bag spider." The two looked at Ivy who was sitting next to Harry, "Get along well with your classmates."
"Hmm." Ron made a guttural sound.
After receiving the response, the Weasley twins retracted their heads and closed the compartment door.
"Fred and George..." Ron explained with a blushing face, "My brothers... our last name is Weasley... My name is Ronald, you can also call me Ron..."
"Harry Potter. You can call me Harry." Harry nodded in a friendly manner. He could see that Ron was very excited, but after his trip to Diagon Alley, he was immune to it.
"Do you really--" Ron looked like he wanted to say something, but then he remembered there was a third person in the cubicle, so he stopped talking and his face turned even redder.
"Ivy Dum. Just call me Ivy." Ivy's self-introduction eased his embarrassment to a certain extent.
"Are your whole family wizards?" Harry looked at Ron. It was obvious that he envied Ron for having three wizard brothers.
"Oh! I think so..." Ron obviously didn't expect Harry to ask this, but they immediately continued chatting happily about this topic.
Harry talked about his terrible cousins, and Ron complained about the difficulties of being in a large family. After a while, the two of them reached a consensus.
"What about you, Ivy? What are your parents like?" Harry stared at him from behind his round-framed glasses.
"They're all gone." Ivy's statement was simple, and he noticed that Harry was looking at him with a hint of empathy.
