From Hogwarts to Strixhaven.
Chapter 20 Rumors
Chapter 20 Rumors
"It's right there, look!"
"where?"
"Next to the tall red-haired boy."
"The one with glasses?"
"Did you see his face? That lightning-shaped scar on his forehead?"
Harry didn't sleep well last night, not only because of the dull pain in his scar, but also because he was afraid that everything that happened in Hogwarts was just a dream of the poor little boy living in the closet.
However, since I left the dormitory today, this worry disappeared and soon turned into a worry.
Because there were always whispers following him from nowhere. Students from various colleges lined up in long queues, tiptoeing around to inquire about him and try to see his true appearance.
They walked back and forth along the same corridor, staring at Harry's face, or more precisely, the scar on his forehead.
This situation undoubtedly caused great distress to Harry.
Because Hogwarts is a magical castle, and he is just a freshman!
There are countless stairs in the castle, and most of them move. Some will even play a trick on you when you are about to be late, making the step you are about to step on disappear, leaving you stuck inside.
Not only that, the doors in the castle are also very temperamental. If you don't ask them to open it honestly or say the correct password, they will not open it for you.
There are also some walls that disguise themselves as doors. They will disappear only after you bump into them hard, revealing the real passage or dead end.
So it's very hard to remember where something is, because everything is moving around because of magic.
The characters in the portraits would visit each other, and often only the frame would remain where they were, and one could not find a suitable person to ask for directions.
And Harry was sure that the shiny suits of armor placed around the castle really moved. Sometimes they would suddenly sing loudly when you passed by, startling you, and then stand at attention smugly; or they would relax and do some harmless slacking when no one was around.
Harry even saw a suit of armor being dismantled by his companion in the clock tower because his singing was too bad! But later, the suit of armor that took action put its companion back together. Maybe this is an interaction that deepens their relationship? Harry thought.
Harry and Ron's first class of the day was Transfiguration, taught by Professor McGonagall, the head of Gryffindor's school.
But they were almost late because of the dodgy stairs, but luckily when they walked into the classroom, Professor McGonagall herself hadn't arrived yet, and there was only a tabby cat sitting upright on the podium.
"On time!" Even a blind man could see the smile on Ron's face. "If I were late, I can't imagine how embarrassed Professor McGonagall would be."
The tabby cat sitting on the podium seemed to understand what he said. He looked at them reproachfully and then jumped off the podium.
But before it hit the ground, the tabby cat transformed into Professor McGonagall herself.
Ron opened his mouth stupidly: "Oh - this is so cool!"
"Thank you for your evaluation, Mr. Weasley." Ron's praise failed to relax Professor McGonagall's tense mouth. "Maybe it would be more useful if I could turn you or Mr. Potter into a watch, so that at least one of you won't be late." "We are lost." Harry was stared at by Professor McGonagall's serious gaze and couldn't help but tell the truth.
"You mean to turn it into a map?" Professor McGonagall didn't give them a chance to explain. "You don't need a map to find a seat, do you?"
Professor McGonagall's Transfiguration had already stunned everyone. Every little wizard in the class was eager to try, wishing they could learn this skill in one go, but they soon discovered that Transfiguration was a very rigorous course.
And for a first-grade wizard, being able to turn a match into a needle is a big deal.
So Harry's first Transfiguration class was just about taking a bunch of notes and then working on a match, and by the end of the get out of class, it hadn't changed at all.
Among all the little wizards in Gryffindor, only two people's matches changed. One of them was Hermione. Her match successfully turned into a pointed silver needle, winning Gryffindor five points from Professor McGonagall.
Another was Seamus Finnigan, who managed to light his own match with his wand without any contact. I don't know how he did it.
Gryffindor's second class today was in the afternoon, a Herbology class held in the greenhouse behind the school.
Because it was still early, Harry and Ron decided to take the opportunity to walk around the castle and familiarize themselves with the route to class in advance.
Somehow, the whispers that had always surrounded Harry in the morning disappeared, and the word "Slytherin" began to appear frequently in people's conversations.
This change made Harry feel both happy and a little lost.
I was happy because there was finally no more piercing sight, but I was sad because of Ivy.
He began to miss his friend who was humorous and had great magical powers.
Originally, Harry didn't believe Ivy's remarks about ancient magic, his age of 144, and that he had been a student of Slytherin.
Because he thought that these outrageous remarks were just jokes made by Ivy to make everyone laugh, but now that Ivy has really entered Slytherin, is it possible that those jokes are also true?
It is said that Slytherin is home to many guys who want to become dark wizards. Fred and George also said that senior Slytherin students would use junior students to conduct dark magic experiments. I wonder how Ivy is doing. I really hope he is safe.
When Harry and Ron finished lunch and returned to the Gryffindor common room through the portrait of the Fat Lady, they found that many people had already gathered there.
Everyone was talking and laughing loudly, and exclaiming from time to time. Standing in the center of the crowd were Ron's identical twin brothers, Fred and George.
"...Absolutely true!" It was not known whether it was Fred or George who patted his chest to assure, "Fred and I went out for a night stroll last night, and ran into Snape at the exit of the dungeon! He was using a levitation spell to hold up a bunch of unconscious Slytherin students!"
"No wonder there were only two people from Slytherin House who showed up for the Care of Magical Creatures class this morning. It turns out the rest were in the hospital wing!" said a Gryffindor student who looked like a senior. "So what happened that caused so many people to miss the first day of school?"
Harry saw Fred and George look at each other and say in unison: "Definitely a Dark Arts accident!"
