Chapter 30 Hard Candy and Tea

Chapter 30 Hard Candy and Tea
"Even if it is a formal duel, it is against school rules in school." Dumbledore pushed his glasses and smiled, "But Severus has already given you the corresponding punishment, so I won't say anything more."

"Now, Mr. Doom." Dumbledore took out the goblin magic silver wand that he had seized from Ivy before school started and handed it to him. "It's time to return it to its original owner. I hope you will always remember that Hogwarts is your home."

This sentence made Ivy frown. He had thought that this meeting would be full of verbal confrontations and various tests, but he did not expect that Dumbledore would only ask a few trivial questions and did not comment on his answers. Now he was revealing his true feelings.

Ivy was so confused by Dumbledore's series of actions that his hand that was reaching for the wand paused in the air for a moment.

As if he had seen through Ivy's doubts, Dumbledore pressed the wand into Ivy's hand and explained, "You are the hero who saved Hogwarts. If it weren't for your efforts, I'm afraid we would be going to school in a pile of ruins now!"

Ivy smiled with a relaxed look and said, "You are right, Professor Dumbledore. Hogwarts will always be my home."

Who wouldn't love this magical school? The students and teachers there are all talented and nice to talk to. Ivy really likes Hogwarts.

"That's all I asked you to come over for. I remember you don't have classes in the afternoon? Then you can enjoy your weekend." Dumbledore pushed the plate of lemon-filled hard candies forward. "I'd love to see you take some and share them with your friends, Mr. Doom."

Then, under Dumbledore's surprised and distressed gaze, Ivy grabbed a handful of candies, leaving only a handful of pitiful candies on the plate.

"You asked me to take it." Ivy said confidently.

"Oh - please." Dumbledore muttered, with a somewhat pitiful look on his face. "You know, my visitors are usually not so... bold."

Ivy felt a little sorry for the old man when he thought about the old man arguing with the convenience store staff over the value of a bag of candy and gold coins, and finally having to use magic.

But he would never give up what he has already got.

So he reached out and summoned the Grimoire of Destruction, took out a ten-pound note from the pages and placed it on the table.

"Don't use gold galleons next time. This banknote is enough to buy a lot of lemon-filled hard candies." Ivy stuffed the candies into his pocket and cast a spell to ensure that they would not melt due to body temperature and stick together.

"Thank you, Mr. Doom." Dumbledore picked up the note from the table and looked at it carefully under the light.

----

After leaving the principal's office, Ivy came alone to the path outside the castle. There were vegetable fields on both sides of the road, and the end led to the forbidden forest.

At the edge of the Forbidden Forest is the hut of Rubeus Hagrid, the Keeper of Keys and Gamekeeper at Hogwarts.

Harry had invited Ivy to have tea with him before, and he hoped it wouldn't be too late for the appointment now.

"Hagrid!" Ivy heard Harry shout. "The break-in at Gringotts happened on my birthday. We were probably there when it happened!"

"It doesn't seem too late." So Ivy raised his hand and knocked on the door.

"Hey! Someone's here. I'll open the door." Hagrid's voice sounded full of relief. He didn't want to talk to Harry about what happened in Gringotts. "Hello, Mr. Hagrid." Ivy took a step back to prevent his cervical spine from bearing the pressure of raising his head too much. "We met in Professor Dumbledore's office before. This time, Harry invited me to come."

"Oh. Hello to you too." Hagrid's tone sounded wary and distant. Ivy thought it might be caused by the robes he was wearing, a relic of Slytherin.

"Harry! Your friend is here." Hagrid turned around and shouted into the house, then moved to make way for Ivy.

"Ivy!" Harry and Ron shouted in surprise, "We thought you wouldn't come. Why did Dumbledore want you?"

Ivy sat on the gray cushion and looked at the furnishings in the cabin. Except for an exaggeratedly large wooden bed that was proportional to Hagrid's body, all the furniture in the cabin revealed a strong primitive style.

"Dumbledore returned my wand to me." Ivy took out the wand made of goblin magic silver and placed it on the table.

"You have two wands?" Ron stared at the pattern on the wand and observed it carefully. "This one is actually made of metal!"

"Fairy silver, the same material as Gryffindor's sword." Ivy explained.

As he spoke, Hagrid took out a cup from the closet, poured some tea into it from a brass teapot, and placed it in front of Ivy.

"Thank you, Mr. Hagrid."

"Hmm..." Hagrid muttered something, and although it was very loud, Ivy still couldn't hear it clearly.

"Is it used to perform ancient magic?" Harry asked interestedly, shifting his attention away from Gringotts.

Ivy nodded. "Yes, it is specially made for ancient magic. It has super strong magic-conducting properties and is not weaker than any other magic wand in the world. But I rarely use it."

"Cool!" Ron shouted, "Tell us about your adventures! The adventures of an ancient magic wizard from over a hundred years ago!"

"I've never heard of any ancient magic." This time everyone heard it clearly, and Harry and Ron looked up at Hagrid.

"Ivy's magic is amazing! He can use ancient magic to make us all float without reciting spells or waving wands." Then Harry told the stories he heard on the train.

"Your carriage was attacked by a dragon?" Hagrid looked at Ivy with suspicion. "What kind of dragon?"

"I think it was the Hebridean Black Dragon." Ivy fell into recollection. "That guy bit off half of the carriage in one bite, but it shouldn't have done it voluntarily. I remember that he had a huge fairy silver collar around his neck. In addition to Professor Figo, there was also a friend of the professor riding in the carriage with me. That friend died on the spot. I later learned that the one pulling the carriage in the sky was actually a Thestral."

"Oh, only people who have witnessed death can see the Thestrals. This must be very sudden for you." The wariness and suspicion on Hagrid's face completely disappeared. He even took out a dirty handkerchief from his pocket and wiped his tears. "It must not feel good to be enslaved by goblins, those poor little ones."
